I rented this dress for a masquerade party, and it was perfect. It was so comfortable, and I could wear a regular bra which was amazing. This was my first time using RTR and I was a bit skeptical, but it worked marvelously and I will be renting from them again to be sure. I might add that this dress was very flattering, which was great cause I just had a baby and wanted something that would hide the belly nicely, and it did the job quite well. It was a little long, but I'm pretty short. All in all, definitely 5 stars. :)

The dress was elegant, comfortable, simple - with some nice draping - and fit nicely. It also worked well on my slender frame and provided warmth/coverage in the very drafty hall of a large convention center in Chicago in February! I received lots of nice compliments.

The fit was great...material was a little thinner thank I thought it was going to be but still kept me warm. I would have liked to to be a tad longer but it was long enough so just the front of my shoe was showing...I wore 3in heels. Loved that I could wear a regular bra with this...I recommend black undergarments.

I loved wearing this dress to a gala I attended. I'm a jewelry designer so I wanted to highlight my work rather than wear a flashy dress and this was perfect. The fabric was comfortable and the long sleeves were great for the late October weather in NYC. The fit was flattering and the longer length for me with my 4" platformed heels worked well. Your heels don't have to be quite so high, but I wouldn't recommend less than 3".

Such a stunning gown! The fabric is very stretchy and therefore allows for comfortable room throughout. It does run very true to size so fit was not an issue at all. Loved it!

I'm 120 lbs and about 5' 5" and the 40 long with 2 1/2 heels was perfect. There are no zippers or other openings so plan on being able to pull this dress over yourself. The 38 was shockingly more tight than the 40. The 40 gave you a bit more sleeve as well, which I like. The fabric is a little spandexy, so it has a sheen to it in photos. It's heavy, so it has that "worth the money" feeling that well tailored clothes have. Overall, this is a lovely dress that makes a body look long and lean due to the draping sitting low on the hip. There's a lot of subtle, but lovely draping on the bodice that doesn't show up in photos. The Pirate Treasure Necklace is AWESOME but the reviews are right, much more gold than silver. Not really sillver at all.

The gathering at the waist hides a lot!

It does run a little big in the shoulder area but feel nicely every where else. It is a very comfortable dress and since I changed from high heels to flats the regular length was perfect. If you are going to be active in moving around but want to look chic this is the dress for you.

I rented this dress for a wedding and fell in love with it. It can be very forgiving and is really comfortable. I have a narrow waist and a flat stomach so I was worried the gathering of fabric in that area would take away my one plus when it comes to cocktail dresses but it looked great! I am 5'8" and I wore 4 inch heels. I went with the regular instead of the long because the dress came to my ankles and it looked very cute. I would definitely recommend this dress to anyone who has a fall/winter cocktail party, wedding or NYE. If I can find this dress I would consider buying it.

Slightly snug but definitely comfortable. The length on the hem and the sleeves was perfect in the Long (heels are necessary though). The neckline was not quite as much of a boat as the picture indicated, but I really loved the dress and felt pretty. It was easy to dance in and nice and form fitting. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture! Safe to say it fits/looks pretty much like it does on the model.

This is the best dress I have ever worn. Fit was great. I wore to a black tie wedding. I am 5'9" and it was long enough with 4" inch heels. I wish that I owned it. On Monday I wore it to work with a black cashmere sweater and boots.

I wore this dress to a formal 25th anniversary celebration. It was a perfect fit and very comfortable. I ended up doing some line dancing :). What fun. The dress was great. I would definitely recommend this dress.

The dress is very forgiving and flattering. My husband thought I looked great in it, so that's all that is important. It was comfortable and elegant.

I wore this for a choir performance, where I needed to be completely covered, all in black. I used it as a backdrop for some stunning vintage earrings and shoulder pins, with hair swept up to show them off. People went nuts over me in this dress. Someone described me as 'Madame X' from John Singer-Sargent's painting (despite being fully covered!). Another comment was 'patrician elegance'. The dress was also supremely comfortable and flattering, no need for extra slimming undergarments. The shoulders and hips are balanced out in this dress, so as a pear, I appreciated the compensation at the shoulder.

The fabric was stretchy but not clingy. It draped very well. I am 5'6" and the length was perfect with 1" heels. The fit was true to size.

This dress was perfect. I needed something that covered me for a cold-weather affair. The material was light, but I felt warm. It was a bit bigger than I anticipated, and if I rent it again, I'm going to go a size down. The hem was a beautiful addition, although it doesn't show well in the pictures. I got several compliments on my dress throughout the night. Paired it with Dannijo Finley Earrings to give it an edgier look with a modern updo. For short people, there was more scrounched fabric, which is something to keep in mind. For tall people, I would imagine it would look more like the picture.

This dress was a bit big, but only because I ordered a size bigger than usual, fearing it would be too small. The dress runs very true to size. The hem on the bottom is really interesting, and the wrap details make it fit beautifully.

With my height and wearing heels - I would recommend getting the "L" for each length.

I thought the dress was lovely. The material was much thicker than I expected but did keep me from needing any wrap. I had many compliments. It fits a fuller hip very nicely.

This dress ran large. I ordered it as a back up look and the sleeves were baggy and unflattering. Also the draping in the middle is not really at an angle so it created this horizontal line over the largest part of my body. Perhaps in a smaller size this would look better on me. Classic silhouette though!

I was looking for a simple dress for a black tie wedding. This was just that but also very stylish. I ordered the 8 & 10 (44 & 46); both fit but the 10 was extremely comfortable and gave me a little extra length for 3" heels. I accessorized with a couple of rhinestone broaches on the "knot" at the waist and that looked great as well as a couple of silver bangles. You will need some bold earrings too.

The dress was conservative enough for a very Orthodox Jewish wedding I was attending. The dress is not flattering on as the rouching made my waist look larger than what it really was. With all of that being said, it was perfect for the event I was attending and I did not stand out in a bad way. I do wish it ran a little bit longer as I am a 6' girl, but I was still able to wear heels with it so I wasn't too upset. All in all, RTR came to the rescue because I had 2 days to find an appropriate dress for this event. Thank you RTR for such great customer service!

We were given the opportunity to choose any black gown for my best friend's wedding. I went with this one because I thought it was classic and I loved the sleeves. It was fine and did the job like any black dress does. In the past when I've used RTR I have gotten off the charts responses to the dresses and felt like a million bucks. This was fine, just nothing special about it.

I am rather short, 5' 2", and this dress was way too large for me. It was loose fitting on my body in general, and the length was laughably long. Otherwise, it is a very nice and practical dress.

For my body type, the waist was large and hit low so if I ordered it again, I'd order a size smaller size.

This dress was too short, even in the long size with my heels. I really wanted to love it, but it didn't fit.

I actually did not order this dress. It was shipped to me instead of another one. It is okay, but not too many points of interest. The hem gives you walking problems, so if you are needing to move on foot, I would forego!

I was so excited to rent this for a black tie political function I was headed to. Note I ordered large (i'm a size 4/6 usually) due to pregnancy. The side 'sweep' on this dress (in the photo the knot thing) sits much lower than I had expected. I was hoping for this to sit at my natural waist - emphasizing it in a good way. Instead the fabric was pulled to my hip area and made this part of my body look large. I put it on and instantly thought - 'ugh, no'. So back it went. It might be because I have a long torso? No idea, but just have a backup! (I will note that the other women with photo reviews on here looked fabulous!)

It fit beautifully when I put it on. Length was to the ground and then it started creeping up. By the time the wedding was over it was tea length!!! Wierdiest thing!! Thank goodness I had ordered the Badgley Mischka. I changed in to that one and went to the reception.

Comfortable fabric and stretchy, wore normal bra, design on hip is very flattering for my pear shape. I was also 5 month pregnant - dress is very versatile.

Very comfortable and elegant dress. True to size but I rented Long instead of Regular based on other reviews and I shouldn't have. It was a bit too long with small heels; otherwise a great fit.

The material was heavier than I expected but that did not take away from its beauty! My one complaint was the stretched out left shoulder--I think because this garment was hung, the hanger did a number on the shape of the shoulder. I had to pin it so I didn't look like a football player with pads on!
