The material is absolutely beautiful, however it is thick, and at moments could feel itchy, if you are sensitive, this is not for you. This dress is definitely a winter attire.

I rented this as a second choice for a black tie wedding since my first choice was only available in one of my sizes. My first choice fit perfectly so I ended up wearing this for the rehearsal dinner. I got so many compliments!! The dress itself is stunning in person. Just the right amount of glitz. I usually wear an 8 but it was small so I went with the 10. It was tight when I sat down but otherwise it was comfortable. I didn't even wear shape wear. And you don't need jewelry because the dress speaks for itself. But seriously, people I'd never met stopped by me to tell me how much they liked this dress. I might even rent it again in the future!!

(Uploading a review for a friend - she is a true size 8) The fabric of this dress is a little thicker than I imagined, its ornately embroidered and threaded throughout with lurex material, making it shine and sparkle! I paired with these turq earrings by suzanna dai. I loved how the short sleeves had this sheer cuff at the end, a nice detail! I am 5'6" and this dress came to my knees, perfect for a dressy cocktail event. I paired with 5" heels! Def will rent again.

Fit was true to size, heavy intricate fabric with luxurious feel. So fun and sparkly. Very layered, half the pics it looks silver & half it's gold. I loved the longer length. A higher than expected slit in the back, but it was manageable.

The sizing is ample and the dress has some give for a comfortable fit.

The fabric is very heavy, so be prepared. Still, I wore it to a summer wedding and got lots of compliments.

Too long bellow knee, and I am 5'8", I put some pins to make it shorter. Indeed as per other reviews, winter dress for athletic types only, has no waist definition so it tends to accentuate the waist in the front. But all together a beautiful dress if wore by the right body type. Not photogenic though with flash, tends to make you look bigger then reality.

I'm very conflicted on this dress. I started not to wear it because it doesn't flow or hang well at all. Very heavy material that feels like felt so it doesn't cling to curves. But wow the detail and color - off white and gold but also with a bit of black....so it's fine to wear black shoes. I wore it to a very high profile church event and received many compliments! I felt like royalty. If my tummy has been flatter I would have felt more comfortable. I normally wear 6 or 8 depending. I had to wear spanx with this 8. If you're tall and slender - go for it!

Wore this to a black tie wedding in the fall. Pretty uncomfortable, no give and has embellishment which draws attention to your stomach area. I got a lot of compliments but just not my personal favorite. Really pretty design though

This dress is a work of art; absolutely gorgeous. The only drawback is that the brocade pattern cuts along the bottom of any belly you have, accentuating it. (Despite loving the dress overall, no full body photos since the first one I saw horrified me!!) I recommend sizing up. It may be better for long and lean types, less so ladies with curves. It's also a little itchy with the gold thread.

Runs large ( I normally wear size 6). The Dress material is ivory wool with beautiful gold embroidery. The sleeves are a little restrictive but oh so sweet. I received so many compliments on this dress. Sad to send it back :(

WOW! What a dress! So luxurious, elegant, and gorgeously done. Looks very expensive. I was at an event with fashion editors and several of them couldn't get over this dress. I am on the smaller end of a size 8, but pretty consistently an 8. For this one though, I sized down on my backup and that ended up being a good call because I wore the 6. Both fit, but the 6 fit me better around the waist and hips, accentuating my shape more, even though it was pretty tight around the arms (but I have somewhat big arms, relative to the rest of me). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this dress. It was so hard to send it back!!! Also, this is the second Pamella Roland dress I have rented and they were both amazing.

This dress is super unique and the cut is very flattering. The cut gives ample room for fuller busts and arms (always a concern for me) and was a little big in the waist area. Would totally rent this number again!

dress was beautiful, but heavy and alittle long for me(5'3")

This dress was sent to me as a backup when the size 4 for the Moschino Tulip Petal Sheath was damaged. It was beautiful, just like the picture, a little heavy but perfect detail. The only problem was that it was way way way too big for me, I was swimming in the arms and chest area and as a girl who's about 5'3", it went far past my knees to my mid shins. I'm sure the 2 would have fit better in the upper area, but probably still too long. All three of my friends staying with me tried it on in hopes it would fit them because it was just so pretty, but they were a little too busty for the top.

I usually wear an 8 or a 10. The 8 fit but was quite snug in the hips. The 10 also fit but was slightly look large in the bust. I did not wear because this was too formal for my outdoor morning wedding, but would be perfect for another type of function. I would probably wear the 10 if I had chosen this dress, just for comfort.....

Beautiful heavy fabric but very straight with no give. I'd only recommend it for older women with a straight shape. I don't think it would do younger women any favors. More of a 'mother of the bride or groom' dress.

Way to big in the waist area.

Gorgeous fabric but soo stiff. Hit me at mid-calf, much lower than model, and looked very dowdy. Completely hid shape of my body. Probably better for taller women. Arms fit but were tighter than expected. Sad it didn't work. Looked great on the other reviewer who wore it for her wedding though!

Rented this to wear to a wedding ceremony. I didn't end up wearing it because it was very big in the hips and kind of looked old lady ish. I thought it would have been fully beaded but it's all embroidered.

Dress is lightweight and beautifully adorned. Fabric is a bit stiff with not a lot of give.

Really loved wearing this dress for my son's wedding. Lots and lots of compliments throughout the evening. Dress does run a little small through the hips. I usually wear a 12, but 12 wasn't available so I ordered a 10 and 8. Thank goodness I had lost about 20 lbs. before the wedding because the 10 fit, but still a little snug through the hips. All in all, great dress!!!

This dress is absolutely stunning! I wore it for a conservative event and got so many compliments. It fits beautifully however the arms are a bit tight and limit your range of motion, especially when you're tugging around a baby. Also, remember it's a sheath so don't expect it to hug your waist and hips. It's exquisite, I highly recommend. The material is thick so it works better for a fall/winter event.

The fit was perfect. I rented a size 10 in addition to the 8 but the 8 was perfect. I was concerned because other reviews said the dress had a tendency to itch but I found once I put this dream dress on I was not at all uncomfortable. I had many positive, glowing comments and many ask where I found the perfect dress for the perfect occasion. I give all the credit to Rent the Runway! I will definitely use you again.

The staff at Rent the Runway was amazing to work with! They were very accommodating so that I could travel to Taipei for a week with the dress in order to attend my son's wedding.

So beautiful, but my hips were too wide to try it on

Because of the stitching and front pattern, my stomach looked puffed out in pictures. Try to have nothing in your belly wearing this beautiful dress. I did have a guest tell me they loved it and they could tell it was 100% designer.
