I have a larger hip/stomach area, so it was a little tight in the 8; but in the 10, the chest/waist didnt fit as well. But because the fabric was thicker and stretchy, it looked fine to be a little smaller in the 8. It was also very comfortable-- it was stretchy but not clingy so you felt kept in but it did not show underwear lines. I generally don't feel comfortable going without a bra, but given the cut of this dress there wasn't much of another option (or get the sticky cups, but I didnt have those). However, again because of the thicker stretch fabric I felt comfortable without a bra. I used some fashion tape on either side of the bra area and danced the night away with no problem. I'm 5'8 and wearing 2.5 inch heels- the 8L was perfect. The extra length was needed. I've never received so many compliments or was asked many times where I got it. It's a gorgeous, comfortable dress-- go for it!

I'd say it fit true to size but the material is stretchy (looks almost silk/chiffon in the model pic, but it is not) so I almost wore the 0R because it looked more flattering through my hips/legs, but the bust was just a tad too much so I went with the 2R - it was perfect! I wore a NuBra but honestly could have gotten away without anything because the dress has a bit of structure in the bust. The colors were great - got a ton of compliments and it photographed really well. Perfect mix of sexy and classy. Length was perfect in my 3.5 inch heels, and the slit in the back is a great touch. Definitely recommend this dress!!!!

I was a little worried because I have a 32 G chest, but there was surprisingly just enough coverage. I wore it for a black tie wedding and received so many compliments; it's very comfortable. I would definitely recommend getting dress tape.

This dress worked out great for a black tie wedding in Miami. The fit is pretty body-hugging: I am usually between a 0 and a 2 for dresses and I would not have wanted this (2R) to be any tighter. I tried the 0 as well and there was no way. So, wear with confidence only! (However, it was not so snug as to be constricting - I had no trouble dancing!) I wore 4-5" heels and the regular length was perfect for me at 5'4". I didn't quite fill out the top (34A/32B), but it was not the end of the world. Note also that there is a little less difference in the two blue colors than the picture suggests - the top color is just a tad darker in real life, but still gorgeous.

Fit me perfectly, super comfortable, easy to dance in, style and color was very unique. No cons.

I only tried the size 10R on in this gown, so I would say it probably runs on the smaller side of true to size, as the 10R was the right size on me. I usually don't like to wear fitted styles, but I LOVED this one! The gown works great for any cup size, and should be worn without a bra, or with a nubra. There was comfortable room throughout the style, and the fabric had stretch, but I would still suggest Spanx, if you want a smoother look. I was comfortable enough in it, without any Spanx. This is on the more casual side of gowns, and it was great!

The dress fit beautifully. Both the 4l and the 6l fit. I wore 3 inch heels and the length was great. The 6l was a little large at the waist and the bust, but the skirt had an overall smoother look than the 4l. It is a pencil-style skirt, but allows movement because of the slit in the back. The fabric has some stretch and is thicker than it appeared in the photo. The colors are also darker/richer than in the photo. The criss-cross back gave the dress a very unique look. The dress actually arrived a day early which was great. They were both in great condition, except for the zipper of the 4l being partially broken. It wasn't a huge deal,, it still zipped, but that was really the only negative of the entire experience. I will definitely use RTR again!

The dress was great, I wore the 6L and the fit was good. I'm typically a 4 so it runs small. I received a lot of compliments on the dress. I'm glad the 6 fit because the zipper on the 4L was broken when I received it!

Impeccably made dress! The colors and fabric are great. The length of the dress was great, along with the fit of the skirt. The only thing that didn't fit right was the bust. The straps (which cross beautifully in the back) were too long for my petite frame. This dress would be great for people with a larger bust, or a longer torso than me.

I wore this dress to a black tie optional wedding and got compliments all night. The color is vibrant without being too bright and I loved that it was backless. My only complaint was that it was baggy up top - not the best fit for women that are a smaller chest size. That said, I would definitely recommend!

Wore to a black tie wedding. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size (0R) in stock, but I loved the dress enough to rent the 2R. Had to pin it around the bust to make it fit properly, but the bottom was fine. Also wore 4" heels to make sure the length was right. Got a lot of complements despite the pin job! I

I loved this dress, my only problem was that I ordered the 0L (because I'm 5'8 and planned to wear heels) but it was still too long - even in my highest 5" heels! I definitely should have ordered the 0R. But other than that it fit true to size, it was thick quality material the did not wrinkle and had a very flattering fit. I especially liked the criss-cross open back. And the color was just stunning. I want to rent again for a wedding this summer, but in a 0R this time for sure!

The open back of this gown is trendy and unique! It is very comfortable and fits true to size! I would recommend sizing up for the backup size since it is fitted throughout the midsection. A nubra or no bra is needed and Spanx is recommended for a clean silhouette! I would opt for the Long length if you are over 5'6 and wearing heels!

The dress ran true to size. I went with long because of heels. I have an athletic build and it was great for me, with few curves. The fit is somewhat tight, but the material was forgiving! Definitely would recommend to anyone.

I was worried that this dress would look "matronly" on me because of the neckline (and I don't have big boobs to make it look "younger"). But it ended up being the perfect amount of sexy and classy. The back is open and the fit is body-hugging in all the right places. I loved this dress in person, and it photographed beautifully.

First let me give a shoutout to RTR customer service, they are amazing! This dress was overnighted to my hotel at a wedding because the dress I originally ordered was only available in a size too large for me, and the backup dress that was sent just didn't fit right either. So this was the dress that the stylist and I ended up with and I'm so glad we did! I actually ended up liking this dress so much more than the original I purchased. I wore this to a black tie optional wedding, and got so many compliments. I was a bit worried that it was going to run small based on the previous reviews,but I found that it ran true to size and although the bottom is more form fitting, there is a stretch to the fabric which made it really comfortable! I loved this dress so much and would definitely recommend it!

This dress was exactly what I was hoping for...a fun color paired with an elegant style- perfect for the LDW- black tie optional, wedding I attended. While the dress is form fitting, the material is forgiving enough to smooth out every curve and make you look beautiful! I definitely recommend this dress

Loved the fit and color blocking of this dress! Bold with nice fit and lines. Came out well in pictures too! Heads up that it was long for me, I'm 5'4". Had to tape and that didn't work so well... might have been my bad tape job. If you're short, get high heels!

I wore about 1.5 inch heels and the long length was perfect for me at 5'10". This dress was perfect for a wedding. I loved the back so much and the colors were great! As I read from another reviewer, there was some sharp boning coming out of the side (looks like it was just from wear and tear). I tried a bandaid but it didn't stick very well. But other than that it was so comfortable and I could easily dance. No bra needed. I was a little worried about it being too revealing but it was ok. I wouldn't have wanted it any bustier though.

This dress was perfect for an outdoor Santa Barbara wedding with resort formal attire suggested. The material is thick and hugs in all the right places. Between the gorgeous colors and unique cut, I felt amazing and received a ton of compliments.

I ordered the 8 long and the 10 regular. I typically wear an 8 which is what I ended up going with. The 10 regular was actually too short (I'm almost 6ft). I wore flats with the 8 long which was perfect, it was probably too short to wear any kind of heel with but then again I'm pretty tall. The fabric is thicker than I thought which was nice-it was very forgiving. It was definitely very form fitting, I didn't end up needing a bra which was great. I had people coming up to me all night complimenting my dress. Was really happy with this choice!

I chose to wear the larger size because the back straps were slightly too tight on me in my regular size. This dress was so sophisticated. I felt like a model wearing it. Wore Nubra stick-on bra for support.

While this was a backup dress due to my original coming in late, I loved it! The customer service in getting me a replacement was awesome and I ended up loving this more than what I originally had picked out. Both the 6R and 8R fit, but I opted for the 8 to give a little extra length. I should have gone with the Long version, as I wore 3.5 inch heels and the dress was an inch or 2 off the ground. But it worked out once I took my shoes off for the rest of the reception to dance. The dress was so comfortable and looked great in pics. I received compliments all night long.

loved this dress! very flattering and got lots of compliments. it's definitely made for someone with a longer torso, so i would recommend having a few small safety pins ready to shorten the straps if you aren't super tall (i didn't have any, but they would have made me feel more comfortable in the dress). will definitely be looking to buy this one when the next sale happens!

I wore this dress to a charity fundraising gala. I wanted something fun that was still elegant and sophisticated, and this was perfect! The jewel tones are beautiful and made it stand out in the sea of black dresses, but not in an over-the-top kind of way. I usually rent both the 2R and 4R in formal dresses, and ended up wearing the 4R in this one because the 2R was a bit too tight across the hips. I would say that this dress runs a tiny bit small through the hips, but large in the chest. You probably need at least a C cup to fill out the top. I planned to wear a stick-on silicone bra, but the top stars sagged and the v-neck gaped open. I bought a backless strapless push up bra from Target and pinned it into the front lining of the dress which solved that problem. I loved wearing this dress!

This was a backup to a different dress. I wear both 6's and 8's but this 8L was pretty perfect. It is form fitting but not tight. I wore sticky bra cups because the back is open and I needed a little more padding. The fabric is stretchy and on the thicker side. I wore spanx but I didn't necessarily need to. I loved the dress and would definitely rent it again.

Rented this for a formal summer wedding. I'm very small - 5'2 and 98 lbs so finding a formal dress was tricky. I originally rented another dress that was waaayyy too long and had to rent this one at the NYC location 3 hours before the event! Luckily, it fit really well. The straps were a bit too long, but I folded/sewed them up and it didn't show underneath my hair. That made the straps fit well in the back and brought up the bust line. Length was perfect with 4 inch heels. Very comfortable and I got so many compliments. Plus it stood out by not being a black dress, even though it was formal.

The dress runs long so I wouldn't recommend getting a long size unless you're 5'10+.
