I ordered the 6P and 4R as a backup. I'm typically a size 6 and get a little optimistic when I size down. However, days before my event the 6 was "destroyed beyond repair" and RTR stood up to their incredible reputation and worked quickly with me to send two additional back up dresses, regardless of price, along with my original back up size 4. Turned out, this dress runs large and the 4 fit perfectly and I wouldn't have had to wear the 6 anyways, but I ended up loving the two emergency backup dresses they overnighted me much more than my original choice. RTR and the ladies behind the brand is amazing. I don't buy dresses anymore and I tell all my friends about them. I never had any hesitation or worried for a second that they would leave me without a dress and actually, having my dress been "destroyed" actually worked out to my benefit. But even after all of their amazing hard work and dedication to their customers, I just received this box of chocolates from them as an apology for my last experience. The way they stood up to the occasion doesn't require an apology or a box of chocolates, however, this just goes to show what an amazing company RTR is and they've gone above and beyond again and managed to exceed all of my expectations. I am a loyal customer for life and I work hard at converting all of my friends, family and coworkers over to RTR as well. Love you RTR!!!

This dress came exactly how I expected. I went with the 4L because the 2R was a little tight in the bust (as I am chesty). I'm 5'7" and wore 5 inch heels but it was still fairly long. Wanted to order the 4R but it wasn't available. I got compliments all night long, I felt like a princess. Color was beautiful, sometimes photographs a little more on the blue side but it is definitely purple. I paired it with purple and gold earrings, a simple gold bracelet and a small purple and gold ring (nude pumps as well). Wish I could have kept it. My favorite rental yet.

An absolutely gorgeous dress. It looks simple, but when worn it's stunning! The petite was perfect for my height with very high heels and the fit was slimming and flattering.

I absolutely love this dress! I wore a 4R and it's fit beautifully although it was slightly large in the bust (nothing fashion tape can't fix!) Overall it's an elegant dress that is comfortable for a black tie wedding.

Size 6 fit me (135, 5'5, 34D) -- bit of a squeeze but it never slipped. Slightly moved during the night but otherwise it was great. I would've gotten a 6R had the 6R not been out so had to wear the 6L which was def. too long but made it work with high high heels. Two words of warning-- just watch out fabric layer on top, its super pretty but can drag so careful not to rip! And the zipper gets slightly stuck right where it goes in for the waist. Otherwise, fantastic dress, love it.

The fit was great. The dress stayed up while still allowing me to breathe. However the color is bluer then the picture with the model.

The color is gorgeous but hard to match. It's a blue in person but looks more purple in pictures.

This dress fit true to size. I am 5'8" and got the 6L dress which was a perfect length with the 1-2" heels I wore. The two dresses came a couple days early and I was able to match them with gold accessories. It was perfect!

Fit is true to size I picked the long and could wear high heels and it touched the ground. I wore it for a black tie benefit in Chicago, also had people I have never met tell me how pretty this dress was.

Dress is blue but looks purple depending on lightings. My 0P was just the perfect size. The dress hugs me just right. I got the petite size based on the helpful reviews for my 5'3 height. This is my first RTR dress and it will not by my last. My only cons to this dress was that it was a little worn out and that a better dry cleaning job could be done as I can smell the remnant of cigarette smoke from the last time someone else had rented it.

I'm a fairly muscular girl of average height, and this dress fit me perfectly, making me look beautiful for prom. Also, there were no problems with the order or anything. To look like a goddess and to feel glamorous, I would totally rent again. Thanks!

Looked like the size 4 dress had a slight tear on top line (leaving unseamed line of fold exposed) when I opened it, but I was able to tuck it so it wasn't visible (I think it does need to be repaired though). I received both a 6 & 4 but the 6 wouldn't stay up. Tricky zipper!

I cannot say enough good things about this dress. I am 5'2'', weigh 120 lbs but my bust is 36DD. This dress was very flattering to my figure. I got alot of compliments and would definitely recommend this dress for any formal affair. I wore it to a Mardi Gras Ball so the purple was a perfect choice. I felt beautiful in this dress and very confident. I usually wear a size 8 but have to get it hemmed. The 8 Petite was the perfect length for me. I will definitely recommend Rent the Runway to all my friends.

This dress was absolutely gorgeous and I received many compliments. The color is amazing! I ordered this dress in hopes that it would fit my growing baby bump. I realized after receiving the dress that I am probably carrying too high for the dress to fit comfortably. The zipper in the back goes down to the rib cage and mine has definitely expanded. As a result, this dress was extremely tight and very difficult to breathe in throughout the night. The lower belly area fit perfectly. If I was not pregnant, this dress would have fit true to size, but I would not recommend it if you are pregnant and have had bust/rib cage expansion. I would also like to mention that RTR has fantastic customer service. Originally, my backup dress became unavailable and the customer service department went out of their way to send me alternatives. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you RTR!

This dress was even prettier in person than in the pictures. It was comfortable and easy to accessorize. The zipper was difficult to manage, but other that I couldn't have asked for a more perfect dress for my husband's black tie event!

She ordered a 2 and a 4, both fit--but the 2 looked better. The length was perfect since she's 5'8 and was wearing heels.

The slit should be in the front not on the side. It would have given a more sexy appearance I have to hold the dress to show my leg in the photo

This dress was exquisite and very feminine! I received so many compliments! My dress arrived on time and fit as promised. The most helpful aspect of this service is the ability to see how your dress looks on someone similar to you. I will absolutely do this again!

Sizing Issues: I originally ordered a 6R and 8P but neither of them fit (Regular was too long; 8P was too big). I called right away and Rachel (stylist) was great - she found a 6P and over-nighted it directly to the hotel where the event was at. Got to hotel and the dress was ready to go and fit perfectly. Wore the dress with big, Indian earrings and bangles. Looked great! Spoke to other girls at the event who also used RTR for the event and we all raved about it. Really good first experience - will use this again for my next event.

The bodice is a little on the large side (I'm 32B), but the waist is so tight I wasn't worried about anything falling out. Wardrobe tape was helpful, though. Also, it's a bit on the long side for someone 5'0", so high heels are a must. I felt absolutely stunning all night long!

This dress arrived exactly as it appeared in the photos. I wore it for a non-profit gala that I was helping to coordinate and it allowed me to run around all night. I would definitely recommend this dress!

The fit was great! It was nice and form fitted from the top to where the belt is and then was nice and flowy as it reached the bottom. I just wish that the slit at the side was as high as it looks in the picture. I had on these nice heels called the "Dabby Sandal" from Marciano by Guess. I wanted to kind of show them off a little, haha. But overall I loved the dress!! Also If you have small chest like me it is a little bit loose but its not bad.

This was my first RTR order! I got the dress on Thursday before Prom (on Saturday.) The fit specialists online were very helpful and patient when explaining the return and sizing policies. The dress was exactly what I expected it to look like, and fit perfectly. I ordered the 10R and 12R but ended up wearing the 10. So glad I was introduced to RTR now; I'll definitely use it for more occasions in the future!

The dress was extremely large. I normally wear a 6, but ended up wearing a 2 and even had to pull that up a little. I was worried about the length, but i wore sandals so if anything it was a little long. I was so nervouse on the fitting but im very pleased i got smaller sizes! the dress did wrinkle quite a bit, but most of the wrinkles were easy to hide. Just be careful how you sit on it. I also was shocked cuz the gold waistband was slightly different than i pictured. The color was very purple, and fit the picture perfectly. Altogether I loved this dress! Got told it was very elegant all night! its not a stand out dress but its still very beautiful!

1st time using RTR but definitely NOT my last! After a nightmare of not receiving my UPS delivery 2 days before Prom (still not sure what happened to my package)...stylist Michelle made everything better by overnighting the next size up AND an alternate. She is AWESOME!!! My niece was nominated for Prom Queen but even though she didn't get the crown she definitely felt like a Princess and was SO grateful to everyone for making her senior prom so memorable!! The best part is we orginially ordered a 10R but it must not have been meant, b/c when that package disappeared and Michelle found us a 12R, it was a perfect fit!! She didn't even try on the alternate... :) Thank you Michelle and the entire RTR staff...u guys rock!!!

I loved that the site allowed for searches specific to being 'bump friendly', as I was 16-weeks pregnant with my second child and already showing. I didn't want to spend money purchasing a new dress that I may not wear again, due to the style needing to accommodate a belly. So I turned to renttherunway and my first experience was great. I tried on both sizes just to be sure, but my original guess turned out to fit the best. Was super easy to return and I appreciated the email reminders and guidelines on how to make the process painless. I'll definitely rent again for the next formal affair.

The fit was forgiving except for the waist. In order to zip it up, I had to turn it to the front so that I could get a good hold on the zipper. The length was LONG! I ordered a regular size length, figuring that that would be perfect (I'm 5'8"), but it was still dragging the ground. Granted, I wore flats to the event so in heels it would have been ok. Otherwise, a lovely dress. Perfect color.

I'm only 5' and the 6P was perfect height with my heels, stayed put the whole time.

I got SO many compliments on this dress. It is really fun and easy to wear. The length was perfect with about 4" heels. I would highly recommend!

The bust was a little large for me, but what I loved is that I'm 5'2" and the 6P length was perfect for me. The color is a deep royal blue which looks great on olive skin. Flattering on a curvy body and a striking color -- I felt like a princess!

Wore this to one of the presidential inaugural balls in DC -- felt elegant and received lots of compliments. Flowy, easy to walk in. I'm 5'11" and wore short heels with this, perfect length. Only downsize was that I had to stuff/pad the bust a bunch, since I'm small-chested.

I loved the layered construction and shimmery belt- it really adds a different look to the dress. The built in bra was supportive so you didn’t need to wear anything underneath and the draped skirt was super flattering. The color is a little bit darker in person - more of a royal blue then purple. Still very pretty though!

My husband took me to see the live production of Les Miserables for my birthday--and we were the best dressed people there. This was so elegant feeling. I'm tall (5'10) and in 3" heels this still touched the ground. It does run a little big--I was tugging it up all night. But a great dress.

I wore this dress to the Marine Ball, and it was completely different than any other dress there. When I first pulled it out of the box and tried it on I wasn't too thrilled, but when I put it on and was all dolled up for the event I fell in love with the dress. The color is a lot darker than the way it is pictures on the model and it has more a bluish hue to it. The dress is very comfortable and wears well, but it is really long, and the top wasn't quite tight enough around my bust area.

I normally wear a 2, but wore a 0 in this dress, the 2 was definitely too big in the bust area. Loved this dress, very easy to dance in and was very flattering

That darned side zipper!! I wish that this did zip up over the fabric but I had such difficulty zipping it up that I ended up not wearing it! It was beautiful, flowing and very comfortable! This is my sad face that I couldn't get the side zipper all the way up!! They didn't have the next size up that weekend either.

I wore this dress to a Military Ball. It was appropriate in the fact that everything was covered, and yet I got compliments all night on how HOT it was! It was comfortable and didn't wrinkle easily (which I was afraid of when first ordering the dress). The only problem was that I ordered a long and even the regular was too long... I had to find some extra high heels, but all in all it was a perfect night with the perfect dress! So WARNING: Don't order the long unless you are over 6foot, 6in. tall. But if you stick with the regular and add heels, it's a great dress. I would wear order it again.

I actually rented this two years ago, and never wrote a review! I usually run between dress size 8/10 depending on the fabric and cut. This dress doesn't have any pull, so I went with the 10 so I was more comfortable. It fit wonderfully, gave a great shape and was easy to dance in. Make sure you rent a larger back-up size if you're a bustier girl!

Everything about the dress was perfect. Extremely comfortable, even after a 5 coarse meal
