It's pretty narrow through the hips and the buttons are all functional
The fabric is beautiful, the cut is classy, romantic and sexy, but the buttons are functional- so it gapes if you're curvy. There's a drawstring waist but it didn't do a lot of work so I added a thick belt to emphasize my waist

DID NOT WEAR
I loved the print and material of this dress but the fit didn't do anything for my shape. Between the two buttons at the top looked like it was going to pop open on the 14 and 16. Also I did not like that you can basically see through the front of the dresses cutouts, though small up close you can tell.

Beware: "exposed front button down placket" and wrinkles easily
So first, there are holes down the front of the dress and I can't for the life of me understand why a double vertical peep-show is something anyone would want. In order to combat the "exposed front button down placket" I paired it with a turtleneck and leggings which ended up looking odd. It also wrinkles really easily. The pro is it's a good length and the design is cute. I'd recommend only if you have an appropriate slip and will be standing while wearing it.

stiff fabric
When I pulled the drawstring in to my actual waste, it created a very boxy look. The drawstring also pulled in the midsection to create a gap between the buttons making it totally unacceptable. Because the fabric was stiff, it did not compliment my shape at all. It made a shape of it's own and it wasn't a kind shape, to say the least. Also, the lace vertical weave on either side of the buttons is see through. It is thick enough that one could get away with not wearing a slip, but a more conservative person may feel uncomfortable. The side angle picture wasn't loading- but it was not flattering.

Cute dress
A little too big, I probably could have sized down. Didn't end up wearing for work but I wore it out to dinner. Really cute dress even tho the ties in the back are a little confusing.

It's a bit see-through at the bottom, which I couldn't wear to work, but I loved the look of the dress

This isn't formal and should be in a different category
Got this as a replacement option for a dress that didn't work. This is an itchy burlap like material and isn't shapely at all. It immediately went back into the zip hanger.

Definitely missed where it said sheer accent along the buttons....vintage nightgown to the rescue.
Belt was key thank you girl who posted before I wore it. It was ok. Too many things needed to make it work. Slip. Belt. Then still not the most flattering but all I had picked out.
