I was nervous to rent this because of the straight shape, but it fit beautifully! My hips were not the problem they normally are, and the top wasn't too big. The material is thicker than it looks, but I didn't find it to be too much of a problem on a June day! It can really be dressed up or down, which is awesome.

This was my very first experience with RTR, and it definitely will not be my last. I am really trying to buy less (but when I do, buy or rent better quality,) be a more conscientious shopper, shop more sustainable, etc. RTR helps with all of that. Now about the gown...it was gorgeous! It fits true to size and I got so many complements on it all evening long. It was the perfect dress for the church fundraising gala that we attended. Going into the event I was not 100% sure as to what the dress code was, but this fit the bill perfectly. It was simple in cut and style, but the rich fabric and print made the statement. I only needed a pair of earrings (which I rented as well,) a gold bangle and my wedding rings to make the outfit. Bonus, I got away with wearing a regular bra! Thank you RTR!

This is a really beautiful dress, and so comfortable!! The perfect thing for my work holiday party. The fabric is soft and rich feeling and the color and little bit of shimmer is unique (black with a copper shimmer). It really was true to size. My rib cage/chest is where I usually struggle with size (to zip up) and if it weren't for that, the 6 would have worked, so I wore the 8. I didn't want to return it!

I wore this to a semi-formal business event where were were many many internationals from Asia and India, and among the sea of saris and traditional Eastern dresses, this fit right in! I got endless compliments. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford it! Easy to wear, beautiful material and color.

I rented this for an evening work event and it fit perfectly! The colors are vibrant and because of the details on the dress you don't really need any jewelry. The dress come above knee but it is a good length and the dress can really be worn to any occasion as it is very versatile. I was also comfortable the entire night so to have a comfy but stylish dress was fantastic. The dress itself was good for my body type as I am petite and 5'1 and thought length and fit were great.

This dress is a beautiful fuschia and gold color, the perfect alternative to an LBD and great color for fall. It definitely stood out from the crowd of black dresses. I wore this to a bar mitzvah celebration in October and it was the perfect party dress. Extremely comfortable, easy to dance in! I wish the dress were a bit more form fitting and a touch shorter as it would have been more flattering on me. (I am very petite (5', 105 lbs) and I wore a size 0, my usual size, so I would say it runs a bit large) . Tip: the Isabel pumps by Kelly & Katie in Magenta match PERFECTLY and only $30 at DSW!

It was a size 12 which is what I wear. The length was not too short. The material was luxurious and soft.

Loved this dress. Wore it to a 'fancy' NYE party with black sweater tights since it was a bit chilly. No necklace necessary with the neckline being the way it is. The fabric has good weight and is fully-lined. I usually wear size 4 in most clothes but a lot of RTR size 2s have been fitting me as well, so I went with the size 2 again here. Plenty of room in the bust and hips, and the arm holes were comfortably large without showing my bra (if I remember correctly, there is some darting in the chest area to help with this). The zipper was easy enough to do myself, though it was a little tough to pull through the seam at the empire waist. Overall a lovely dress that I really enjoyed wearing!

Runs large, but the next size down fit perfectly on me. The dress is a gorgeous fuchsia color with darker gold brocade threads and comes in a nice thicker fabric that doesn't wrinkle. I'm 5'0" and the size 0 hit just above my knees.

I wore this dress to my company's holiday party and got so many compliments! The dress fit perfectly...I didn't even try on my back up size. The color and detail of the fabric is really gorgeous and perfect for a fall/winter event. I could see how the front of the dress could be a bit revealing, but the dress fit my bust perfectly and had no gapping at all.

I loved this dress! The fit was perfect, and it was very comfortable to wear. Not too long and not too short. It was a beautiful deep magenta color with gold threads, and it looked great with the gold earrings I also rented. I hated to send it back...

I rented this dress for a Madmen themed holiday soirée. It was perfect for the event - Classy 1960s style shift. The fabric is sturdy and beautiful in person. Some reviews mention it runs large, but for me it was true to size (I think you could size down if you don't have wide hips, that was the hang up for me). A++, Would rent again!

I can't say enough! The fabric is forgiving without being elastic, and the length is professional but not matronly. This dress was sophisticated and fun! I wore it twice, once to a work tradeshow where I had to represent my company and once to a chic baby shower in Manhattan. It got rave reviews.

I could have gone a size smaller, I'm in between a 0 & 2. Since this was a shift dress I was not sure which would have fit better so I went with the size 2 since there is not much stretch on shift dresses.

I'd heard great things about Nanette Lepore's dresses and they were all true. Excellent craftsmanship and the fabric was beautiful and high quality. I float between a size 4 and 6 and being at my heavier weight I did not want to feel stuffed into a dress; this dress was perfect because it was super comfy and didn't show every little curve (thinking it may run a little on the larger size). I was a little nervous about the front because of my full bust, but it showed a very tasteful amount of cleavage. I highly recommend this dress if you are looking for something unique, beautiful and comfortable.

This is one of those dresses that is so hard to send back... It is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are more muted in person, but still very deep and rich, making it a great fall or winter wedding dress. The material is quite thick as well. It fit true to size and I was worried it might be too shift like for my pear shape, but I thought it was very flattering and got lots of compliments! One of my favorite rentals yet!!

I usually don't wear prints, but this dress was really fun to wear! It was a perfect flower print for my friend's wedding in September. I usually wear a 4, but I wore a 2 since it fit a bit better in the top half of my body. There was more room in the hips and leg area (kind of like a shift dress), which made it great to dance in/it wasn't constraining.

True to size but in the chest area it gapped a little so if you're not trying to show a lot of cleavage you might want to use tape . It was comfortable the entire evening and being able to wear a regular undergarments is always a plus. I didn't find myself pulling or fixing the dress at all.

Wore this to an Indian wedding and the colors were perfect! This wasn't the original dress that I ordered but RTR sent a back up dress the day before the scheduled delivery date. It worked out perfectly, this dress fit like a glove and flattered my figure. Length and cut were appropriate for a more formal wedding occasion too...not to mention I danced 4 hours in this dress! The fabric was also thick enough that made it look even more expensive, and will work for a winter wedding too if you add a shawl. Thanks for the awesome customer service RTR!

The colors and fabric feel perfect for fall. I really like the designer, so I liked this dress. I was a little surprised by the fabric.., I was expecting more of a brocade, but it was similar to an upholstery fabric. It made the dress very unique! The fit was perfect.

I rented this dress for a February wedding and it was perfect.the fabric was rich and colorful. It was easy to dance in.

A beautiful, well-cut dress. The lace overlay shifts from black to gold in a really unusual way. Easy to pair with a blazer or nice sweater. I wore this out to dinner and it was loose enough that it didn't feel a bit tight afterwards! I wear a 6 in most designers as I don't like to wear super-tight clothes but this 4 fit extremely well. (Could have gone with a 2 if I was a tight-clothes person.) Great dress.

What a fun dress! I wore this as a hostess dress for a NYE party. Very comfortable, not a show stopper, but a great fun party dress. Nanette Lapore's dresses are always fun with just enough uniqueness to them to make the dress stand out. Slight a-line is good for those with larger hips/booty. I am a 36DD and my boobs were a little squished so I switched to a super push up bra which solved the problem.

I thought this dress was really pretty. I wore it to the see a musical and thought it was wintery and nicely formal without being over the top. I also wore it to a wine event and received many compliments on it.

I LOVED this dress. I wore it to an October wedding in the Midwest, so it was a bit chilly. This dress was still a fun color but also made of a thicker material that was perfect for the time of year. There's some gold, black, and green in the metallic embroidery so it's much more autumny than it looks. The cut is amazing, especially around the bust. I did have a little problem with the 0, and it was a little small for my chest but it still looked great.

This dress was beautifully made with thick non stretch material. It was perfect for a fall wedding and the colors were gorgeous. This picture doesn't do it justice. The dress on the model looks like a redish cranberry color but in person it's more fuchsia. I felt it ran a little small and ended up wearing the bigger size with spanx.

It's not nearly as gold as it looks in the photo. But the length and fit were great. Lots of compliments.

I suspected this dress would run a little small as I have experienced that with Nanette Lepore in the past and it did. The dress fit but it wasn't as flattering as I would have liked on my curvy figure. The fabric is beautiful and the cut is tastefully appropriate, I wore this to my finances' company holiday party. The attached photo was taken at the end of a long evening of drinks when I got home and realized I don't have any other pictures.
