I loves this dress, wore it for a Chinese New Year event. I ordered a 2 in this dress and it was slightly loose in the chest, but perfect with a backless bra. I think a 0 would've fit as well. The length was perfect (floor-length) and worked well with my skin tone!

So many compliments! This dress really does make you feel amazing. I am normally a 2, ordered the 4. 6 probably would have worked too since I'm a little wider in the hips. In a sea of black dresses, I stood out in all the best ways from the moment I walked in. It's elegant and fun at the same time....definitely the right choice for my Valentine's Gala!

As many others have mentioned the dress doesn't have any give and runs small so I ordered both a 0 (I am usually a 0) and a 2. Since the straps were too long so I ended up tucking them into the dress and made an improvised design at the bust, unfortunately even though the 2 fit around my body comfortably the bust was too big and the now "strapless" dress kept sliding down. I ended up buying shape wear to wear under the size 0 - it was tight, but totally manageable. People were in love with this dress and I was easily one of the best dressed out of 1000+ people at this event.

I absolutely loved this dress. It fit me perfectly on the waist and since it wasnt formfitting in the bottom, it was very comfortable to dance in. Everyone commented on how much they loved the dress!

I loved this dress. It is nice and tight and hugs in all the right places but defiantly runs small.

This dress was INCREDIBLE, an absolute show-stopper. I wore this to my company's black tie gala and I got compliments all night. I was even voted Best Dressed among our staff! The 4R fit me like a glove and was just tight enough to hold me in without being too tight to breathe or move freely. The bust was very flattering for someone who doesn't have a lot going on up there, and the cape was amazing! It was so fun to walk around and have it billow out behind me. It also made the dress a very nice shape and was forgiving of my hips/thighs. The fabric is very thick and soft, kind of silky and shiny. This dress feels expensive and made me look like a queen, and it was comfortable to wear all night. One thing though: the regular length was really long on me (I'm 5'3") - I needed 4inch platform heels to keep the hem off the floor and I was still tripping. It was worth it though, I would wear this dress every day if I could.

The straps are pretty loose, so they kept falling off my shoulders when I was dancing. However, the dress looked better strapless so this was not a problem. I recommend ordering a size up because the chest area is very fitted so it doesn't stretch very much. Overall, this was a wonderful dress! It made my prom truly magical.

I am 5' 3", 00P, 34A. I ordered this gown because it runs small and it really does. Size 0R was a great fit for me: there was not extra fabric hanging loose. The dress is composed of two parts: the inner dress is form fitting while the outer dress turns into a beautiful flowing train. The length of the inner dress was 1" too long (even with platform sandals) so I used double-sided fabric tape to short the hem. It is easy to use and leaves no mark. The length of the train was perfect! Very comfortable, easy to walk around, and eye-catchy, even though it was in a discreet way. When you stand, the gown looks as one piece while the trains separates from the body when sitting. The fabric is heavy, but not hot. I had fun wearing this gown and received a lot of compliments. This gown definitely stands out in a crowd and I strongly recommend to rent it, but get a bigger size than you normally wear. The only down side of this gown was the fact that there were two holes in the back of the straps. It appeared as somebody tried to shorten the straps and then something went wrong with the thread. I contacted RTR upon receiving the order, and the response was promptly and very on point.

This dress is a show stopper. So sexy. I loved the look! However, it ran small. I was barely able to squeeze into the 4R, and certainly would not feel comfortable sitting down in it. I also tried on the 6R which was a little better but still not the most comfortable. I love this dress! But I couldn't function very well in it.

I wore this dress for a gala for my medical school, and I was worried I wouldn't like it as much as the stunning dress I ordered from RTR the previous year - but thankfully, I was proven wrong! This dress is a gorgeous, deep red color, but I think what really makes this dress stand out is the shape. The bodice is well-fitted, with a waist adjuster inside, and there's a cape/train that isn't clear from the sample picture. Many of my classmates remarked that the dress was stunning, especially when you're moving around/tearing up the dance floor so that you can show off the train! I'm fairly small chested and have a slimmer waist, and I got a size 4 (I'm typically a size 2 or 4, depending on the brand), so if you have a larger chest I would recommend going up a size! The material is fairly thick, but that means there's minimal give. All in all, highly recommend!!

I absolutely loved this dress! It could not have been more perfect for my formal engagement photo shoot. This dress is just crazy beautiful! It legitimately has a cape/train which is just so neat. The color is bold and rich. The fit is probably where people struggle with this dress. I am 5.5, 124 lbs, and 32C. I got size 2L and it was perfect. I wore 4inch heels and it barely touched the floor so be mindful of this. I wore a strapless bra (you could probably get away without a bra because it has boning) and the top fit just fine. The hips were somewhat tight but it does have a slit in the back which made walking easy. The dress does not have any stretch so this is something to be mindful of. I would HIGHLY recommend this dress!

Let's start with cons: you CANNOT sit in this dress. The cape makes the dress look deceptively free-flowing. It is not. The skirt is a column--straight down--with a flowy cape around it. Now pros: This dress is stunning. All cons more than worth it. You will feel like regal, stately, dramatic...basically like Michelle Obama at a state function. The boning is flattering, meaning you can eat food and still look good. The material is thick and rich. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful dress, it does run small. I am normally a 4/6, had to wear the 8, dress has no give and restricting bone corset. The train is detached from the dress, so the dress is fitted down to ankles. I'm a 5'3", 130 lbs and a 34C, this was not too much cleavage for a conservative event. Also, I wore the R length with 4.5 heels, was good length as you can see. I don't want to return it!

This dress looks way nicer in person than the RTR stock photo. I was stopped by absolute strangers the whole night. I rented this for a black tie affair and was so happy to stand out in a sea of black dresses. My DDD bust fit fine without a bra, you do show a lot of cleavage through the mesh but I was fine with it, it still looked very classy. I paired it with an Oscar De La Renta necklace which I also rented and it looked fabulous. One thing: it has a significant train, even in heels. Once or twice my husband stepped on the tail and I had to stop, we had to be careful dancing too; but all in all I loved the dress and would recommend.

I would never have rented this if I was just looking online. But when I went to the store and saw it draped over a sales associate's arm, I just had to try it. Something about the weight and shine of the material just called me. It was the first one of the 7 gowns I tried on, and looking back I don't know why I tried on this rest. This was it. This was the ONE. The collar lay perfectly over my chest, and the thick material and boning in the rib area meant I didn't need a bra. The mesh straps added enough interest but kept things classy. The interior skirt (the skinny one), thinned the profile but the train of the skirt added a whole other dimension to the dress. It twirled and showed leg when I moved (back of the interior skirt is slitted up the back) and moved with my hips when I danced. Honestly, I was genuinely afraid of outshining the bride, but I didn't care. It my first black tie wedding and damn it if I wasn't going to look good.

I rented this dress from the NYC Flagship store for the Tony Awards. It's the most amazing red dress! In a sea of gorgeous formal dresses, I received so many compliments. I would say that it does run a little small--I wear 4s and 6s and this 6L was snug, but still flattering. I'm 5'9" and the long was a great choice since I wore heels. The train drags a bit, as it should, so I just had to be mindful of people stepping on it. I didn't want to give it back!

This dress is a true standout. It is extremely glamorous. I received so many compliments and felt great about the way it looked. I think the ruby red color is best suited for brunettes or women with darker skin tones (winter color palette). I wore a Nubra (the kind without a back that sticks to you), which worked out perfectly, and the two inch heels I wore were the perfect height (I'm about 5'6"). I highly recommend this dress!

The dress was stunning! It had some boning in the bodice and a strap like a bra inside, maybe to hold everything in. The effects were slimming and who doesn't like that?! The chest ran a bit small, I'm a 34a and wore a push up and it was tight. The length was perfect for me. I like it to hit the floor. I'm a tad over 5'4 and I wore 4' inch heels. The back train is longer than the front considerably which adds to the drama but you want to consider if it's raining.

The dress runs small! I wish I had read reviews before I rented... which I almost always do. However, despite how tight it was (you can see how I had to fold over the bodice at the waste), and the fact that the lace straps were a bit long, it was pretty stunning. No bra needed, the tightness does the holding and pushing. The train is beautiful. But definitely size up.

I rented this to be a shaperone at a prom for special needs kids. Sadly the chest area fit was inappropriate for the event. I sent it back with regret! I am a 32dd. So if you are smaller no worries the rest of the dress fits great. I had 4 inch heels on in the picture and the 4r was just long enough to be glamerous but not long enough i was tripping when i walked. It really is a great dress. I woul recommend it..just know it will be lots of clevage if you are bigger up top- which might be a good thing for a different event!

Lovely dress, loved how there's an elegant train that flows beautifully as you walk. Runs rather tight and the straps were an awkward length for a small-busted girl like me, so they were slightly "lifted" above my shoulders. Definitely get a size up from what you usually wear. Otherwise, highly recommend! Wore this to the opening night gala for SF Opera, so the reception and theater were full of extremely well-dressed people, but many women (and some men) came up to me to make a point of telling me how beautiful this dress was!

I rented this dress for my murder mystery birthday party, and it certainly brought the drama. If you're looking for a showstopper, this is your dress. Something that I don't think is totally visible from the photos is that it has a CAPE - which is amazing if you're into that. Something to note: I am normally a size 4 and a 6 fit quite snuggly. Definitely size up.

This was a very nice dress and well made but I should've sized up because I had to suck in my stomach THE WHOLE TIME! I got lots of compliments and it's a nice gown but make sure to get a bigger back up size! Overall a very pretty dress

It was tight and I wish I had ordered two sizes larger than my normal size instead of just one. There was no forgiveness at all in it, but it was very elegant.

Beautiful gown! I almost always wear a size 6, occasionally I will wear a 4, but the waist on the 6 was slightly tight. This made the gown fit a bit higher than it was supposed to and thus the straps were too large. I used my backup size 8 and it completely solved the large strap issue as it fit lower, although the hips were then a bit more loose. Overall it worked well and I was complemented throughout the evening! The back does include a bit of a train, but it is fairly easy to pick up and walk with when you are outside.

Fit was small! I usually wear an 8/10 and the 12 was almost too small. I like everything about this dress except the straps. It's really well made and a thick, heavy material. Ultimately I didn't end up wearing it and I wore another style I rented.

Beautiful dress, fully lined and boned. The cut and drape was elegant. The boning limits the sizing at the rib cage, I had to size up from an 8 to a 12. The zipper is difficult and the fabric has no give. You will need someone to zip you up, or un zip you. Because I sized up the chest area was larger than my frame. I did wear a push up bra to enhanced the girls with additional padding. I had many compliments and felt amazing in the dress.

This dress would be perfect for black tie event. It is simple but very elegant. The dress has 2 parts. The dress and then there's a sort of train that is attached to it. I didn't realize this when I ordered it so that's a nice surprise. As other reviewers have posted, it's a little small. I would rent this again but maybe go up to 4R.
