LOVED this dress!! it was a little tight in the shoulders, but i ordered super late so the next size up wasnt available.

I rented this dress for my sororities formal and it was perfect. It fit very true to size and I was able to wear a strapless bra with it. It was classy and fun at the same time. People told me they loved the dress all night.

The dress was worn by my sister to a wedding and was a great simple, classic, black dress! It runs true to size, it's not too tight around the midsection because the material is not that stretchy. Super easy to accessorize! Length was perfect, my sister is 5'5 and wore 3' heels. Everyone loved it and she didn't have any complaints!

This dress is TO DIE FOR! It shows off curves like nobodies business. I was a little afraid it would be too long, but it just barely skimmed the floor with 3 in heels. It was an amazing night and I didn't want to send it back.

I received a ton of complements on this dress the whole night. The material has a little give so I would recommend taking the smaller size just because I feel you would want this dress to be form fitting. As for shoes I wore a black open toe shoes by Steve Madden called the Stacey. I'm 5'4 and the length was perfect with this style shoe.

I had to write this review, I usually run btwn, 4 and 6, they only had the 8 by the time I was able to rent! this is a PHENOMENAL gown however the 6 would have been PERFECT it was a bit loose and sagged a little. But my own mistake. Just a heads up they dress runs true to size so don't assume larger would be ok! it was an absolutely stunning dress nevertheless

Dress fit perfectly and is great for those girls that are looking to accentuate curves. There are also very flattering seaming details which are hard to see in pictures - loved it and highly recommend. I'm 5-4 and wore 5 inch heels and it was the exact perfect length.

This dress was amazing! It fit perfectly, got lots of compliments. I usually go with something that has more color, but was glad I went with this one for this particular gala. Dress is stretchy, was surprisingly able to dance by shaking by booty all the way to my ankles!! Being 5'5 I got the regular dress height, and the length was very long, however I bought some 5"+ platforms and the dress was just skimming the floor, it was perfect!

The 38R wasn't available so I had to go with the L. Being 5'2, even with 4.5 inch heels it still was a bit long. I have a really short torso so that part was a bit bunched but otherwise I loved the dress. Very elegant and fun. Comfortable as well.

Dress is elegant and simple - it's straight but has a mermaid cut to it (narrow on top, small flare at the bottom). I rented some RTR earrings to go along with the dress and used a McQueen clutch.. it was perfect! My only complaint was that there is no slit in the dress, so it's a bit hard to walk in.

The dress fit perfectly. It has a slight stretch to it that could accommodate any body shape. I wore the regular length; at 5'5" with 4 inch heels, the length was great. However, I would recommend getting the long length if you will have a taller combined height and heel. I also wore a Nu-Bra, as the open back won't conceal a strapless bra. Overall, this was a stunning dress. I got compliments all night, and definitely didn't want to take it off! I will rent this again if I have the chance.

The dress fits like a glove and feels great.the material is light and silky. I worn no underware at all and the lines of the dress were very flattering. I am 5 foot 6.5 inches and wore 5.5 inch heels with a three quarter inch platform. I was afraid the dress would be too short BUT it was a perfect length. The only thing I would do different is have a hairstylist sweep your hair to one side so that the back of the dress is showing more. Sexy, Great Dress!!!!

sooooo this was a last minute thing because the dress I ordered was damaged in my size and they RTR let me get anything I wanted-- ordered this dress in 44R and it FIT perfect but i thought I would be more comfortable the size bigger; RTR only had the 46L, I took it but should have stayed with the 44! let me tell you THERE IS A REASON WHY PEOPLE SPEND $3,500.00 for a dress...it was heaven, fit incredible, so comfortable....you feel wonderful, confident....I will rent this AGAIN AND AGAIN and cant wait to wear the red! I WAS IN LOVE WITH IT and STILL AM....I just had a baby so nothing has may made me feel like the old me before this dress!

Dress is very comfortable, but the long ended up being a little long for me. Felt sexy, but still conservative enough.

I don't have a nice curve and am not skinny at all. But this gown did everything for me! It made me look like I have a curve with the right amount of mermaid! It wasn't too mermaid-y but still has that nice mermaid curve. The cutouts look absolutely beautiful!! This gown makes your belly look so skinny trust me!! (I'm not wearing SPANX in the picture). I got so many complements and people didn't even recognize me!! Absolutely RECOMMENDED!

Absolutely love this gown. It is very fitted up top, but also very stretchy so I was able to wear my normal size even though I have bigger hips. The back cut outs and cold shoulder make a classic black gown sexy and interesting. Would definitely recommend!

After getting an invite to a Commodores Ball, I was in a lurch. Who has ball gowns just lying around? Luckily, Rent the Runway DC really helped me figure out what I could wear to an event like this. This dress fit so perfectly. For a girl on the tall side of life, the long was essential. The long was an inch or two too long for dancing though. I wore this dress for photos and another Badgley Mischka for the actual ball. I received so many compliments on the dress throughout the night. I highly recommend it!

I rented this dress for an annual MENSA Gala and I was way over dressed but I looked and felt beautiful so I didn't care. The dress fabric is heavenly, it's felt so lovely on my skin. The square bust line was flattering for my athletic shoulders and arms while the stitching emphasized the feminine curves I often have trouble highlighting. The back was daring and unexpected which further added to the intrigue of the dress. It was very comfortable to wear and not restraining at all. I added a gold belt to pull the waist in a bit more as the lower half of the dress was a little big on me. There is pleating in the hips that I assume hugs a pear shape but on me, just looked a little big. Overall, stunning dress, so many compliments, and it made this occasion very special.

The body of the 2 fit better than the 4 but my shoulders were to broad for the 2. The 4 was snug in the shoulders and loose in the waist and big in the hips but it looked nice and I got lots of compliments. Wore it to a gala and it was very appropriate and also different from what anyone else had on. Always a plus.

after reading all of the reviews i expected this dress to fit too small if anything, however it was actually BIG! i am 5'5" about 140 pounds and i got the 42r, the hip/stomach area was a little too baggy. nothing too noticeable but it bothered me. the dress was beautiful though, i wore it to a black tie affair in nyc which was filled with a-list celebrities and extremely rich people, i fit right in wearing this dress! and many people stopped to compliment me on it!

The only con to this dress was the shoulder strap was very tight so moving your arm up was constricting at times, other than that it, the dress shapes your body even without curves and is super glamorous.

I was a little let down when I received the dress in the mail. I was expecting a dress with a lot more structure to it...I guess something along the lines of an Herve Leger type dress. The dress was beautiful but it seemed that it had lost some of it's shape...probably due to the number of times it had been rented out. The material however was actually quite soft and bouncy. There are details in the lines and stitching that you can't see in the picture but adds some dimension to the dress. The dress overall was completely comfortable throughout the night. I danced with my boyfriend all night long in it. The cap sleeves do pull up but whatever. The fit wasn't as snug as I would have liked. As far as the length goes I wore 5in heels and the dress came about an 1in off the floor which was perfect for me...I didn't want to have to worry about a dress dragging the ground all night. Super annoying. Oh, I also have a pretty full bust and I had plenty of room in that area. Last thing I'll say, the hook eye at the top of the zipper was missing so I had to safety pin the dress, otherwise it would have kept coming unzipped.

I ordered a 42R and a 44R, but they both seemed to fit completely differently. The cutouts were even different on the two dresses. The 44R had an extra set that the 42R did not. The 42R had a much shorter torso so bunched in the front, but the 44R fit a little loose in the bust. So there were a couple of fit issues, but hey, that's why they send you a second size! At the end of the day I wore the 44R and was very happy with how easy it was to wear. The comfortable material is really easy to glide through a room in, no Spanx necessary. I didn't realize that the dress had a mermaid shape at the bottom, but was pleasantly surprised because it was so flattering. Overall I loved it, my fiance' loved it, and I would rent it again.

After exhaustive (i.e. obsessive) review of black tie options on RTR, I decided to rent this dress for a friend's wedding. Perfect choice. Classy with a little bit of sexy due to the cross back. The top fit perfectly. Others are correct in saying the there is definitely extra room in the hips. I by no means have a straight figure and had no issues. In fact it was a little loose, but sizing down may have compromised the fit of the top. I would size down for my back up if I rented this again. Of course some sort of backless bra is required. Note that the low cut square neckline of the dress does easily slip down so the bra better be a demi cup. Had to use fashion tape to fix that little issue. Spanx not a requirement but may help depending on how tight it is on you. I rented the regular length because I wanted to wear flats and it worked out well. Throughout the night, I received numerous compliments on this rental. VERY very pleased with this dress. Quality design that is extremely figure flattering.

This dress was great. I would definitely get the long size if you are wearing heels...unless you are really petite. This was one of the 3 dresses that RTR sent me for free as a "showroom at home" event. I loved the fit and style of the dress, but I think I would have preferred it in the red or blue color that RTR has. I think the style and cutouts would be better displayed with some color. Out of the three dresses I was sent, although this was beautiful, it was not the standout dress for me. It is very flattering and would be great when dressed up with some sparkly accessories.

Beautiful dress that accentuates curves. Was concerned it was going to fit given other reviews about the waist being loose- I agree that it fit a little funny under the bust but it fit beautifully everywhere else. One of my favorite rentals!
