I had to buy the dress a size smaller than i wanted, but it really ended up okay! the dress was a little bit snug, but the length was perfect. one thing to keep in mind is that lines show pretty easily, so you'll have to be careful when you pick your underwear!

I went up one size, which was the right thing. My friend looked awesome in her calvin klein RTR dress too!

This dress made me feel AMAZING--it was the perfect way to start my Rent The Runway experience. I tried it on in the NYC showroom, and the 40R fit me perfectly. I wore it with 3" heels and the bottom barely grazed the floor. I wore it to my boyfriend's law firm's black tie gala at Lincoln Center, and got compliments from everyone. I am usually a little shy about showing off my hips (I usually go for strapless dresses that hug the waist then flare out on bottom), but since it was a special occasion, I decided to just go for it. It is made from a heavier fabric so it doesn't show bumps, but I ended up wearing Spanx just for a little 'lift' in the butt. The waist was slightly too long for me (would have prob been perfect for someone 5'6"), but I was still very happy with the fit. The straps over the arms made it a little awkward to reach upward (like to fix my hair), but it's a small price to pay for feeling so sexy. The color is slightly darker/richer than in the photos with the model, but the purplish-blue hue is accurate. My only caution is for women who live alone: I wasn't able to close the little hooks on top by myself, so my boyfriend had to come over early to help me. I'm reasonably flexible (I can put sunscreen on the middle of my back), but there are 4-5 little hooks on the strap at the top of my back that I couldn't close on my own.

This dress is a head-turner and I would definitely rent again. I wore this to a black-tie wedding was approached by strangers and friends asking about it all night. I'm usually a 0-2, so was a little worried that a second size wasn't available, but was relieved when the 38R fit. This dress is form-fitting, which means it shows every curve (my boyfriend LOVED that part!). I tried to wear spanx underneath, but because I didn't have the type that goes to the thigh, it showed the panty-line and I couldn't wear them. I was able to wear a strapless bra underneath...just had to pull the back strap down far enough to hide it. You can also put in bra pads instead if you need the extra coverage. I wore 3 inch heels and the length was perfect. The only negative is that you're limited in movement, especially for dancing....the hip area is a bit tight and you can't raise your arms very high...but honestly, the dress was so gorgeous, I didn't even care!

Fits true to size. I'm 5'4 and 120lbs and the dress 40R which is a 2 US size fit well. I wore about 3 inch heels and the dress did not touch the ground. Only complaint is the zipper in the back should have a clasp because if you sit it sometimes begins to unzip a little...

Absolutely gorgeous dress - the color is incredible. It runs small in the hips - I usually wear a 6, but I wore the 8L in this. Dress is also a little short - I wore 3-4 inch heels, and it was a couple inches above the ground even though I got the long - but the dress is so beautiful, no one is looking at the length. Would definitely recommend!

This dress is simply fabulous. I rented it for my brothers black tie wedding reception and everyone loved the dress. It runs a tad small but other then that it fit great. I loved this dress and was truly sad to have to take it off and especially sad to have to return it. I paired it with jewelry from rent the runway and everything worked out great for the event. I am so pleased with my experience! This is a must rent dress!!!!!!

This dress was amazing! Fit great and got a million complements on it. Only thing I would have changed is I would have gotten the long size. Dress doesn't have a lot of give especially near the knees, its very fitted. The back is the best part ... must wear your hair to show it off!

This dress is a stunner. I'm usually a 0-2, and I rented the 38L and 40L because RTR stylist said dress is very form-fitting and R would be too short. I'm 5'6 and wore 5-inch heels, and the dress still dragged a bit. I went to a gala where we did a lot of dancing, and though it worked fine, I would probably do R next time. Dress definitely hugs every curve but completely stylish and elegant. I received compliments the entire evening, and the color will definitely make you a standout.

I am 5'7" 150 lbs very curvy small waist 34 D bust this dress fits perfect the fabric has some give very comfortable The only issue I had was finding a bra because the way the back is cut Too busty to go braless

LOVED this dress. was perfect for a black tie wedding. sexy and also classy. I got so many compliments. I'm 5'1" so it was slightly long but not too bad. would definitely recommend.

Be sure to have a sticky bra on hand!

This dress is absolutely stunning. Too bad it's not made for D cups. I rented the size 40. The 42 was not available and normally I wear a 40 anyway. The bottom fit perfectly but the top was WAY too tight. I could barely clasp it and when I did, well let's just say it didn't look classy at all and that's what this dress is, classy. I hated to return it but had no choice. Hopefully I will have a formal event in the near future and rent the 42. The color is breathtaking.

Worn the dress to a formal wedding and stood out in a sea of black! Dress fit like a dream, not a lot of give, looked like I had to tailored to me. The style was certainly out of my comfort zone, but definitely glad that I took a chance on wearing this fabulous dress. Looked and felt fabulous.

I rented this dress for a wedding which was just so amazing. Fit perfectly, I am 5'4' 110 pounds and usually wear a size 0-2 I wore the 38R and it fit perfectly...all over..received many many compliments and just felt stunning in this dress. The color is beautiful the fit perfect....

This dress really is a showstopper. Unfortunately for me, RTR didn't have a 6 for the day of my event so I rented the 40R (Size 4) and the 44R (Size 8), hoping I could fit in one or the other because I just LOVE the style.... like the title says, I wish they'd had my size. I know the 42R would have fit perfectly... I ended up wearing the 40R and couldn't really eat anything while in it :-/ It still looked great though and I would definitely rent again to experience this dress in the right size!

As soon as it arrived at my office, I looked at it and realized I should have ordered the 40 and 42. The 38 was tiny! I am fairly slim and could not get the dress zipped up. Order a larger size.....trust me!
