I am 5"8 and I originally ordered a 46 long. It was pooling on the floor way too long so I had them send the 46 regular. It was perfect! It was like it was Taylored just for me. It is a stretchy jersey material so it was very comfortable. You can't go wrong with this dress.

The fit was perfect! I was able to wear heels, which it is hard to find a dress that I can do that with. I was happy with everything except the one shoulder sleeve was a bit awkward but I finally made it work. Other than that it was great! Compliments all night!

Tons of compliments all night. So comfortable! Length was perfect with 3" heels. Did not need a bra, as the material had sufficient shape/lift. Just used silicon pasties. Loved the swirl of material as I walked. Elegant dress. Perfect for a work party.

It fit like a glove. The material was great and hugged in all the right places. No spanks needed. I got so many compliments and it definitely was not your typical simple black dress.

I had a baby 10 weeks ago and I wanted something that would be a little forgiving. This dress was perfect. It was also forgiving of my large bust. I am breastfeeding and this dress was perfect for not squashing my breasts. It was also very comfortable as my bust 'increased' over the evening :) With a pair of spanks underneath it hugged everywhere it was meant to and the black slinkiness of the dress really forgave my slight baby belly. I felt very comfortable in this dress I am 6' tall and was still able to wear 3 inch heels in the long gown. I also tried on the 40R but it was too short for me. I would recommend this dress (in a long) for any lady 5'11 plus! Great length!

I love this dress. I wore the 38L, which was perfect with four inch heels. Strapless bra with a full Spanx slapless slip made it an effortless day. The entire process rental process was easy - I'm impressed with this company. No stress!

This dress is is very comfortable. The material is stretchy enough that it doesn't constrict the mid section. It is also very long, so tall girls who don't want their shoes to show under their dress should pick this dress! I am 5' 11" and wore 4 inch heels and they just peeked out. So happy with this sensational dress.

The dress is simple, sleek and modern. The cut of the dress is very different and made me stand out from everyone else that was wearing a black gown at the event. I recommend that spanx be worn underneath, as the fabric is very clingy and can accentuate any imperfections. Also, at 5'6" I would have been better off with a 38R, as the 38L was a little too long (even with 5 inch heels). With that said, I loved everything about this gown and my experience with RTR!

I did my Lincoln Center debut in this dress! It was truly stunning on stage and off. The dress fit me like a glove. It's extremely comfortable and low maintenance (you don't have to worry about it wrinkling). Just be careful what you where underneath it as I had bought seamless panties that could still be seen slightly.

This dress is a great choice. I am 5'9" and I wore 4.5 inch heels and the dress flowed perfectly. I felt great in the dress and got tons of compliments. I normally wear a size 10, but the 8 fit nicer througout.

This gown was a real stunner and I received TONS of compliments. Wore it for an event that involved appearing onstage and it just flowed when I walked. I am size 4 and ordered the 40 long (equal to 4 long). It was VERY long, which was perfect for me -- I am just under 5'10" and wore 4-inch heels so finding a gown that is long enough is always a challenge. With my high heels, I was almost 6'2" and the gown reached all the way to the floor and pooled a little in the back as it should. I would definitely recommend Spanx under this as it hugs every curve. My only regret with this gown is that I had to send it back! LOVED it!

This dress has the most beautiful, simple, elegant details in the neckline and in the hemline. I am 5'4 125 lbs and a 34C and the size 4 fit me perfectly. I wore it with 2 inch heels but probably could have worn 3-3.5 if I needed to. The fabric is very thick and stretch so it's comfortable and elegant all at once.

I wore this dress to a high-profile NYC gala. The dress was in perfect condition when it arrived. It was a great choice - very comfortable, yet sleek and stylish. Its a great dress for an event where there is a lot of sitting, as it does not wrinkle, like some dresses do, around the hips. I am 5'6 and wore 3+" shoes and the 38R fit me perfectly. As someone with very little, um, bust, I can say that this dress did not gape in the chest or accentuate my shortcomings at all! Very, very happy with this dress.

Fit: Size runs a little small. I wear a size 6, and found this to be a little tighter than I wanted. The size 8 was too big so I wore the 6. I received many compliments!! Will definitely use RTR for future events.

I wore this to a black tie wedding. The dress was perfect. The material was not too heavy and had some stretch so it fit very well and was flattering. The stress and necklace was different in this dress so it stood out from all the other black dresses.

I wore this dress to a wedding and it was an excellent choice. I got tons of compliments. It was super stylish and stood out without being over the top. It was very comfortable as well. I wore it with an adhesive, backless bra. The only issue that I had was that the fabric tended to "grow" as the night went on. I felt like it was a size larger by the end of the night. I wouldn't necessarily say this distracted from the dress it just meant that I had to hold it up and occasionally pull up the front.

This dress is stunning! I received so many compliments at the black tie wedding I attended. It is sophisticated without being over-the-top and is very comfortable. I wore the size 40R but had the 42R as a back up. There wasn't a huge difference in the sizes,but I felt great in this form fitting dress with a pair of spanx! I am 5'3" and wore 5 inch heels which I needed with this dress as it is quite long. I bought a beautiful pair of chandelier earrings to wear for the event with the money I saved renting this dress. I can't imagine ever buying a long gown again with all the wonderful choices at Rent the Runway!

very flattering for toned arms

This is a gorgeous dress -- it can be dressed up or down to fit the occasion. It was my backup dress and I decided not to wear it but will definitely keep it in mind for a future rental because it's stunning and very comfortable.

I ordered this dress for an Inaugural Ball and loved it. I was a little nervouse that they only had a size 10R (I'm 5'11"), but the dress fit perfectly, was extremely comfortable, and still was long enough to wear small heels. I lost 25 lbs last year and I'm still getting used to being a size 10, but this dress definitely worked! I received compliments all night ,and the photo I uploaded to facebook got TONS of positive feedback.

The material hangs to your body so spanx are reccomended

I rented this dress for a black tie wedding. It's a classic shape, but the asymmetrical neckline gives it an unexpected twist. The dress drapes beautifully and the bottom flows when you walk. It does hug your curves, so wear something seamless underneath, but it is very flattering and elongating. Also, I'm 5'11" and the long length was perfect even with 4" heels. It just grazed the floor. I would definitely wear this dress again!

This dress was gorgeous and comfortable to wear! At any of your mall stores I am a size 4 but sometimes in a fitted dress I am a 2, so I ordered both. I went with the size 4. Its very fitted throughout, so you had better workout a lot and flatten those abs or buy a shaper! I ordered the regular length even though I am tall because my boyfriend is a little short and I got away with a flat shoe is this long gown. LOVED THIS DRESS! My boyfriend's friends were telling him how nice I looked. I really felt great in the dress.

I thought the fit of this dress was perfect. It has stretch and has a unique cut to it. I just thought it was kind of plain. Considering all the dresses you have to choose from on RTR this one is just kind of eh. I would not rent it again bc I love so many other dresses on the site.

Overall, great dress! I had very few complaints and it worked wonderfully for my black tie wedding. Cons: #1- The thinner strap in the picture was a little longer than my shoulders- so in order to have that fabric pulled tight I had to pull down that side of the dress, thus revealing a little more boob area than i wanted. We ended up just pulling and twisting dress from the back and simply rolling up some of the extra fabric in the front to cover the base of this strap. #2- you can't wear a bra with it- you need to wear some sort of band-aid style coverage or maybe sticky boobs. This wasn't a problem for me, as I had expected this but its a good thing to note. Pros: Fabric, fit, and length, all great! The fabric was stretchy and allowed for easier on and off plus it stretched with you when you ate or drank. I DID wear spanx and recommend wearing them as it doesn't particularly hide any stomach area issues well. Length was perfect; with my 3inch heels the fabric barely grazed the ground but was still easy to walk and dance in! Overall a great dress- I loved it and it held up well the entire night. The dress isn't incredibly attention grabbing, you will blend in perfectly with a formal party affair and have extra ability to be different with hair or jewelry.

This dress was perfect for a black tie wedding--gorgeous but not fussy or over-the-top. My only issue was the length. I think I'm right on the borderline between a regular and a long. Luckily I ordered both, but the long required heels higher than I wanted to wear and the regular required heels lower than I wanted to wear. I ended up wearing the regular with about 2.5 inch heels. I felt very glamorous and sleek.

I wore this gown for a Mardi Gras ball in New Orleans, which i attend every year. I received amazing compliments on it. Total Rock Star look.

this is definitely a safe bet dress. it's a great fit and comfortable...so nothing special about the design. it is what it is a nice black dress.

Dress is very pretty in the back. If I could have gotten it hemmed, it would have worked, but it just would slide off my shoulders. This was my backup dress for the $25 extra and it didn't work out either. I went with the 10R since on the designer's site, that's what I should have been. I truly believe even an 8R would have been too big though, and I would have gotten that just in case, but they were out of that size for my 2nd size. So I would have been out of luck anyway. As with the other dress I ordered, I probably should have ordered it with a shorter length since I wanted to be lazy and hide some flats underneath, but the dress was waaaaaay too long for that, even at my height.

This dress was so amazing! It was elegant and classy yet still unique. The fit was great, it was overall a beautiful dress.

love the dress and it wears well - however, it took 3 people and 30 minutes to zip the dress up. the zipper doesn't work well.
