This dress is beyond gorgeous. I never would have rented it, had I not seen it at the RTR NYC store; it's just so much more beautiful in person! The pattern is incredible close up and the fabric is a gorgeous heavy stretchy navy with a teeny-tiny hint of sheen. Just what it needs to make the pattern pop! This dress is flattering, can be worn with a normal bra, and has pockets -- Perfection! My only issue is that I would have never known what size to order had I not tried it on in the store. I'm a very typical size 4, but ordered this in an 8.

Before I get into the review, RTR was amazing in getting me this dress. The original dress I was supposed to have was damaged and they offered me any dress in that size free of charge, so I ended up with this. I was again thankfully at the Henri Bendel showroom, where they let me try it on and then it turned out to be too big! They were great and shipped me a dress one size smaller which arrived in time for my party. So definitely order your regular size and then the back up size as one size smaller. Then when I tried on this dress and the original dress I ordered (which was still available in my original size), this dress was actually the better dress so I ended up wearing it for my housewarming party and it was a hit. Everyone loved the print and color, and the dress has pockets which was helpful as I was carrying my phone around and could actually use my hands for food and drinks. The only downside is that the material is a bit heavier, so it gets hot if you're wearing this in the summer. But I would definitely rent this one again, it's amazing and just makes you feel so beautiful, especially now that I know you should order your regular size and one size smaller. Thanks again RTR!

Loved this dress for my party! The fabric has a nice sheen and the print is literally amazing! I love the pockets. I am between a 4 and 6 and the 6 (UK size 12) fit great! Would def rent again!

This dress is flawless and will make you feel like a professional Beyonce. It's made of a thicker, very slightly stretchy fabric and is very fitted in the waist. I'm typically a 0-2 and am very small in the ribcage, and am wearing the UK6-US 0 in this photo. It was tight but definitely wearable. I'm 5'6 and found the length to hit a few inches above my knee. The print is super unique and the pockets are one of my favorite parts of this dress! I paired it with black booties and a leather jacket to bring some edginess to the ensemble.

First a note about the size...this is European sized 12, a US size 6. I could have gone down a size, it was a little big overall. I had plenty of room up top and on the bottom. If you have a thick waist I wouldn't size down. The fabric of this dress is luxurious...a thick satin that makes you feel like a million bucks. My 11 year old loved this on me. I felt a little too conservative but classy too and perfect for the Catholic mass I attended. I loved the pockets. The length hit me just barely above my knee.

Very pretty dress. The pattern is beautiful and the dress is very flattering (more so in person, I don't feel the picture does it justice). I received this dress as a backup when my dress ended up being unavailable (turns out one of the bridesmaids was wearing it, disaster averted!) and I was very happy with it. I don't know if it's worth the hefty rental though, I've rented a lot of less expensive dresses that I felt were equally as nice and special.

This dress runs large! I ordered a size 12 (because the stylist told me it was a 6 US) and it still felt very roomy. I had to wear it as this was the replacement to my first order that didn't work out. I wouldn't have rented this dress on my own primarily because the price tag is steep ($175). The dress is pretty and the fabric is nice but don't quite understand the $175 rental fee as it doesn't seem worth it. Overall, I felt ok in it - I probably would have felt better if the dress fit properly.

One of the things that I totally love about RTR (and frankly my unlimited membership) is that I get to wear these beautiful dresses that I could never in a million years afford. This little Matthew Williamson number is def a fun dress, it has pockets! It's formal enough for a cocktail party, but casual enough for work or date night!

Fitted at top and @ the natural waist, more volume on the bottom than indicated in the model photo. The material is a luxurious thick silk and the pattern is very detailed. Pockets in the dress are a plus, came in handy for the phone and a lipstick.

Gorgeous dress! Nice heavy material, interesting cut & print. I usually wear US 8 for dresses & it looked like the UK14 would work, but was a bit bigger than I'd like.

I wound up wearing a different dress because I couldn't make the armholes work in the size I had. Will happily try a different size.

I'm between an 8 and a 10. So, I ordered down to an 8. When I tried it on, I was swimming in it. Fit more like a 12. Order down 2 sizes if you're in between!

Loved this dress! Perfect for a work event because it's interesting, but it's also the right amount of conservative. Sad to send back!

RTR sent me this dress as a replacement for the one I originally ordered for a wedding, and I ended up loving this one so much more than the original. I would definitely rent again if it were cheaper. It's unique and a beautiful material (it's a little thicker, but even in August in DC it didn't feel too hot), but was also really comfortable, especially with the pockets. The length is conservative enough that it was appropriate for a church wedding, but it was still easy to move in and dance later in the night. My only complaint was that it felt like it ran a little small due to the cut of the dress; I am usually between a 6 and an 8, but the 8 was extremely hard to zip up over my 34DD chest. So if you are larger in the bust, I'd recommend going one size up for your backup. Otherwise, it fits true to size.

It's nice enough for a black tie event- flexible and comfortable.
