The fit was perfect around my chest. Being 5'1" the length was a bit long but it was for a wedding and I did want to look appropriate. The material wasn't itchy or scratchy and it was easy to sit, move and dance in! The dress says a lot so only minimal jewelry is needed.

Read every review before me & the ladies were dead on-- glad I went with a smaller size than what I would typically get because it fit perfectly. Only odd thing is the back was a tad longer than the front. But it was comfortable, adorable, and I received so many compliments. Incredibly unique dress!

Fit - This is really great for flat/smaller busted girls. The 38 was perfectly fit around my arms and chest. (If you have larger than 34 A/B I would go for a larger size) Material - Obsessed. The flowers, the foil, the stitching. This dress is a gem. Dancing - I danced all night. This dress is tough and durable. It bubbles so beautifully when you twirl. I'm in love.

I wore this to a wedding where I didn't know any guests (it was a friend of my boyfriend's) and I got compliments all night from everyone including the bridemaids. The dress had pockets which was really great. It was a little big in my chest area but that's normal for me. It was also longer in the front than in the back which I thought was a bit odd but it still worked out. I LOVED this dress and was so sad to send it back.

I wore the dress to a wedding out of town, I wasn't completely sure how formal the wedding was, and honestly this dress was perfect. The dress came just above my knees, so I wouldn't recommend to anybody shorter than I am to rent the dress. Also, at first I thought the shoulder was going to be a little snug, and rub, but it didn't at all it was so comfortable to dance the night away. My absolute favorite part of the dress was the pockets, you couldn't even tell they were there, but it was awesome to keep my cell phone in all night. I would totally rent this dress again, I wish it were mine.

Dress is amazing. However, it's made for someone with larger bust and smaller backside. I am the opposite. However, it still looked and felt amazing.

Fit was excellent - I wore my usual size. I am sensitive to length and dresses being too short (my legs are not my fav!) but this was just right. Short enough to show some leg but not too short that I was self-conscious. This is a dress for when you want to have fun and sparkle a little bit in the process. I typically go for a more elegant look with formal affairs, but my husband chose this dress and I figured why not (and he loved it!) I received compliments throughout the night - from the 14-year-old girls attending (the dress does have a cutesy, young feel to it with the poofy skirt) to women my age and older. Very appropriate for a black tie optional event. The only thing that was slightly odd about the dress is that when I wore it, the back of the dress's skirt went a little higher than the front. Noticeable perhaps only to me as it was pretty slight. Finally, I paired the dress with a nude patent leather heel and it was perfect!

I was a bit nervous about renting this dress, as it seemed really long, but it ended up being an inch or so above my knees, which looked perfect. I'm 5'4, so I think for people shorter than that, it might be a little too long. Aside from the length, the rest of the dress was beautiful. The fabric was soft and comfortable (although the neck is really high), but I found that once I left my house, I didn't even notice the neck issue. It's not even an issue, really. This dress is the epitome of classy (especially the length! I loved wearing a dress that was a good deal longer than my peers' while still being beautiful and flattering) and I was saddened by having to take it off at the end of the night and mail it back! Also, sorry about my face in this picture. I look like a turtle but this was the best picture to show the fit of the dress.

wore this for christmas day at my house. it was festive and fun! i have a small bust and the bust did run a little large. loved this dress overall though - would definitely rent again!

Fit wise -- the skirt has quite a bit of poof, so from the side I looked a bit pregnant (I don't have a flat stomach to begin with). I am short, so there was a little bit of looseness in the top part, but I just wore a padded bra to fill it out. Overall it was comfortable and beautiful, very easy to dance in. Plus, pockets!

The material of this dress was nice and the pattern was so festive! The gold details dressed it up and the purple colors were nice. It was a bit long on me, but it still worked.

The dress is true to size - I was shipped a 46 (8) bc the 44 (6) wasn't available last min. The dress I originally ordered was returned damaged, but a wonderful stylist worked with me to find another option. This dress worked perfectly for the wedding I attended. The 46 fit just a little bit loose. I highly recommend this dress if you are curvy. Dress has pockets which is a nice touch!

This was my first rental, and I was very excited to wear something special on New Years. However, when it arived it had black spots where the gold thread was worn away, and was too large for me. It was longer than expected, hitting below the knees. The shoulder/bust area had way too much extra room for me (usually I have the opposite problem). The waist didn't hit me in the right place, either. It looked rather frumpy on me. Shortening the shoulder straps could have solved my issue, but as that wasn't an option, I had to return it and wear something else.

Fit was very flattering. I am hour glass shaped with a large chest. I could have worn the 46 but the 48 gave me a little more breathing room in the chest. This is an FANTASTIC dress I wish I owned.

I am pear-shaped and typically wear size 6-8 dresses. The dress I received was well-suited for my size and shape. Wore with closed-toed nude/cognac heels. The gold in this dress make it very unique; I don't remember having to accessorize at all. Happy with my selection!

Dress is just as gorgeous in person as it is in photos. Zero complaints... wish I could keep it!

The fit was absolutely perfect. I ordered a 2 (usually my size) and a 0 (some dresses fit me better in a 0). I loved how the bottom had a cupcake shape and when I turned, it would flow out and look absolutely incredible. If you want to have a statement piece, I highly recommend this dress. This was my first dress from Rent The Runway and I will definitely be using RTR for future events.

I wore this dress for an event at my work and loved it! It fit perfectly and true to size and I was comfortable all night!

With that said, I actually got a lot of compliments on the dress even though I didn't choose it initially. The gold sheen was pretty vibrant but I think the purple flowers balanced it well. I had emceeing and other duties at the wedding I wore it to so the pockets were FANTASTIC! It was super helpful to be able to drop my notes and phone into my dress w/o having to carry stuff around. The only small thing was that my dress had a line that ran down the middle of the front. It didn't stand out super particularly but I wore a necklace just to draw attention away from it. Overall, it was a great back up dress. Thanks for the customer service, RTR!

Beautiful dress, the colors are so much more vibrant and prettier in person. My boobs were a little smashed in the 38 so I ended up wearing the 40 and it was perfect. The fabric has no stretch so the 40 felt way better since I would be wearing it in the heat for a long period of time. This dress is thick and the fabric is lovely. The pockets are an added bonus. The length was right at my knees which was appropriate for a church wedding.

I rented this dress for a 1950s casino themed gala. It has pockets, a beautiful full skirt and who doesn't love a dress you can wear with a regular bra. I paired it with a gold ring and cognac pumps. I received many compliments and hope to find an excuse to rent this dress again!

I ended up wearing the 38 in this fabulous dress to an early November wedding. Probably my favorite RTR yet!! Tons of compliments. The colors are amazing -- not too dramatic, and the metallic gold adds a fun touch without being overwhelming or too sparkly. The dress is not too short and the skirt is nice and full, without being fluffy. The only fit "issue" I'll point out is the sizing around the waist/rib cage. It's a bit tight, but not too uncomfortable. If you're bigger in this area, I would probably recommend sizing up!

This dress fit perfectly! I typically wear a 00 and was worried the 38 might be a little too big but it was perfect. I loved everything about it and received compliments all night!

I wore this to my boyfriend's annual work gala, and it was so well received by everyone. The dress makes a statement without being over the top too. The top is a little tighter than the bottom, but that is also my frame. I would suggest this for any formal, black tie optional affair or a wedding. This dress will not disappoint!

It's a great dress, but the chest is VERY tight if you have a large bust. I definitely needed help zipping towards the top. But the dress was a hit otherwise, and the colors are beautiful!

true to size, nice and thick. probably would have been more approp for an indoor winter thing but i felt great once it was dark and kinda cold (september 24 in the mountains). huge awesome pockets, regular bra, nice and poofy.
