When I tried it on I couldn't decide if I was going to keep it and wear it or send it back. I knew if I tried it on at a store I would've put it back on the rack. Decided to step out of my comfort zone and wear it. Very comfortable and ending up liking it but it runs very oversized. 50-50 if I liked it or not.

Buyer: "So Jenn, we have this kinda-crazy, black balloon dress. Love. We think we need to add it for fall." Jenn: "Good balloon? Clownish balloon?" Stylist: "It's pretty big but not like a costume, and super cozy and warm. And safe, cause it's black ya know?" Jenn: "Okay, let's try it out. And you two owe me if it flops. Good?" Buyer: "Yes, we will take that bet!" Stylist: "Now let's just hope some tall chick rents it and rates it highly. BC it's not gonna fly on anyone under 5'10"!" (End scene)

It is a really cool design, but it also does give Severus Snape. Plan accordingly. I really liked the almost-off-the-shoulder neckline, but the cuffs of the sleeves were a pain to unbutton and rebutton. I would definitely wear this in the winter to a party or more offbeat event. I wanted to wear this for work, but it was too warm for the time of year, and a little too wizardy for the context.

This was exactly as ridiculous as I hoped it would be. A gorgeously made, deeply confounding wool sack. Flattering it is not, but extremely comfortable!

After reading the reviews I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. I styled it with black tights, flats and bright red necklace for a night out on a cold evening. The dress was perfect, kept me warm (the fabric is a bit like a coat) and was extremely comfortable. It's a bit less flattering in case you intend to stand all the time (a bit too much fabric in the stomach area, but nothing extreme), but for sitting occasions the dress looks great. Perfect to art gallery, rock concert, outside event.

It's super heavyweight, oversized and not flattering in any way. I rarely get a rental I don't end up wearing at least once, but this was one of them. Skip it.
