Loved this dress however I didn't plan in advance and our event was right at prom and wedding season. Had to take a smaller size than I should have. Normally a 6 but fabric content described a bit of stretch, so I accepted a 4 (42), with no back up size available. Well, the outside had some give but the inner "slip" didn't at all. And a mermaid cut, meaning I couldn't walk well, let alone negotiate stairs! No matter - I probably was more graceful than usual because of it :D Gorgeous dress, just a tad small for me but I knew that going in. Customer reviews and photos were valuable in choosing the Long since I wanted the hem to just hit the floor in my 2" heels. Bracelet was sparkly but subtle

I wish the dress was a little longer. I got the 40R and the 42R and the 40 fit perfectly, but was a little shorter than I liked. Luckily I really like my shoes, but sometimes as I walked it shimmied up and I would have to pull it down so I'm not flooding.

The dress is very fitted throughout the waist and hips with little to no stretch. I probably should have gone up a size for comfort. The top is very roomy and comfortable. The sleeves are fitted, also without any stretch. I wore a Nu-bra with the dress and was comfortable all night. The regular length was unavailable, so I got the long length and was very glad I did. The regular would have been too short in my heels. The dress was classy and perfect for my event.

The 40R is like 2-3in shorter than the 42R. It was very comfortable and is figure flattering. I have a bigger backside, so it was tighter on me in my hip and thigh region. Only complaint is that I had to lift the bottom up about to my knees in order to walk up stairs, or to sit comfortably. By the end of the night after wearing it for a while the material loosened up enough for that issue to go away.

I wore this dress to my cousin's wedding in New York. The dress fit me like a glove and was very figure flattering. I felt wonderful in it and despite it being form fitting, it was very comfortable to wear. Since I was traveling from the West Coast and picking up the dress in New York, I had to pack only one pair of heels. I was worried about the other reviews that the R length was too short for heels but luckily, my heels worked (I'm 5'5" and my heels were roughly about 2.5-3" tall). The dress does have a low back, so I used a low-back extender with my normal bra. The dress is also tight around the legs, so I had to take small steps unless I hiked the skirt up. All in all, I really loved the dress. It made me feel very elegant and even though it was black, it stood out in the sea of cocktail dresses.

This dress was absolutely perfect. I am 5'3" and ordered the 38R and the 40R. Both were the perfect length with heels (3 to 4 inch). Strangely, I went with the smaller size (38R) because I felt like it had more room in the legs to walk comfortably. However, there was no huge difference in the sizes. I would absolutely recommend this dress. I got many complements.

I was nervous this dress was not going to fit based on the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised when it did. It was a perfect fit and could not have picked a better choice. Wore to a Dining Out in February. This dress was very comfortable and the sleeves added some much needed warmth. Loved the open back. Very vintage feel. I would definitely rent again and highly recommended. It was a little on the "short" side which was perfect for me. I am 5'3" and wore with a 3" heel making it the perfect length. If you are taller than me for sure order the long!

I wore this to a museum gala and received tons of compliments! It definitely runs small, so I would order a size up for backup. I ordered a size 38R and a 40R and the 40R was pretty tight in the hips and waist (no stretch in this dress), but was still comfortable. I wore a three inch heel and the length was perfect. I absolutely love the lace in this dress, it's so beautiful! The black fabric layer under the lace lays slightly below mid-calf, so you can really see the lace, which is quite unique and lovely.

I generally stay away from black because I like bold clothes that stand out. This dress was anything but boring-an absolutely stunning dress. I was told by several strangers at the 1,000 person event I was at that this was the best dress there. It is insanely flattering-feminine but sexy. The lace detail requires nothing more to jazz it up. I may have added a necklace but I was running late and just threw it on and walked out. I disagree with others that it is long. I'm 5'7" and I ordered both a long and a regular. The regular was too short even to wear flats. I wore 3 inch heels with the long and felt like 2 inch heels would have been better given the length. Runs true to size.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The dress runs a bit short. The long was not available in my size for the days I needed but I feel it would have been the perfect length. I'm 5'5" and you could see my 3" heels. This dress in incredible. So comfortable and easy to wear. I would rent this again and again.

The fit was true to size after adjusting the straps for the interior silk top. The lace was beautiful upclose and in the photos. The waist band was comfortable, along with sleeves. I wore the long length with 2-3 inch heels and I believe the dress was appropriate...but I wished the dress was just a little bit longer. The slight keyhole in the back of the dress was beautiful. I recommend wearing a chunky necklace with the dress.

Wore this to my rehearsal dinner and adored it. The 40L was a little snug, considering I usually wear a 4 in dresses. Got an email from RTR on the day before my rental was supposed to arrive saying someone had damaged the 42L I had originally reserved to rent. RTR instead offered me any dress at any price. I ended up going with the same dress - but in the 40L - and two much more expensive dresses. The 40L fit me like a glove! I did have to wear a backless bra but had no issue with that. I am 5'7" but have pretty long legs and little-to-no torso. As you can see in the picture, flats worked great for me, even with the "long". Heels would have looked silly. I enjoyed wearing this dress more than my wedding dress... it was curve hugging and the back of it was head turning! RTR's customer service is outstanding. I received a box of Godiva chocolates about a week later, apologizing for the snafu - which wasn't even their fault! I would rent this dress again in a heartbeat and can't wait for my next RTR rental!

This dress was amazing! It was so comfortable and it fit like a glove. It is more form fitting that it looks on the model, which was perfect. I am about 59-5'10 and the long was just long enough. I had to wear flats, but it was kind of nice to be forced not to wear heals!

Absolutely gorgeous dress and so comfortable despite the tight mermaid silhouette! Definitely gets for a petite, athletic figure. I tried to dress it up with a necklace I rented but to be honest it didn't even need it - the lace detailing at the neck was enough. Very comfortable to move and sit in, length was perfect with 3 inch heels. .ive been working extra hard with my trainer for an event and this dress showcased my new booty ah-mazingly!!! Highly recommend this dress!

I loved wearing this dress and how it looked on me. It fit so well in all the right places and was really unique. My only issue was walking/dancing was a little tough since it's a mermaid fit. I guess that's to be expected but I really struggled w/ stairs and dancing.

I'm a true hourglass with curvy hips and backside-I was afraid that it would be uncomfortable to walk in since the dress looks so snug online, but it literally fit like it was tailored to my body. I'm 5'7 and had to wear flats even with the 46L-so if you plan to wear heels, order the longer length!

It fit extremely well through mid-section, hips, and thighs! It was fitted, but I could move and dance comfortably without feeling restrained. It does run shorter than I expected. I brought 3" heels and could have worn 2" heels instead (the dress would have touched the ground in that case). I have a short torso, so the lining hung very low across my chest. A little fashion tape would have helped, but I don't think anyone noticed but me. Overall, I'm very happy I picked this dress! I got lots of compliments.

The dress does run a little small, so if I had the choice I would have liked to wear the 42R as the 40R was still a bit tight around my hips! The lace is so stunning, but looks worn especially at the bottom (it was a bit fuzzy) from dragging on the floor. I loved the open back. This dress is super easy to wear, and very comfortable! This dress fits perfectly, really shows the shape of your body. I was hoping the dress would have been a little longer than it was but it still worked out perfectly.. I am 5'7" and the dress just barely hit the floor.. I wore 3" heals and it worked out just fine. This dress is gorgeous, you will be so happy!

I wore this stunning dress to a black tie wedding I attended in Boston. This dress is gorgeous - pictures do not do it justice. I received endless compliments all night on how stunning I looked. My husband's jaw hit the floor when he saw me - doesn't get better than that! The open back gave it just the right touch of sex appeal without being inappropriate. I felt beautiful and comfortable the whole night. The 44r was the perfect fit through my hips and thighs and still gave me enough room to dance all night. The length was a bit long so I had to go with a 4" heel but I expected that as I'm quite petite. I would definitely recommend this dress and would happily rent it again. Loved this dress and was sad to send it back!

Beautiful dress. Received a lot of compliments on it, felt pretty. Dress was extremely comfortable and the material was semi giving which made it great. Dress does show if you a have a tiny belly so I do recommend a supportive undergarment to help keep your belly flat. Overall LOVED this dress

I really enjoyed wearing this dress and got a lot of compliments. I wore it with black Schutz Inova heels, which have about a 4" heel. Both sizes I tried (40 and 42) just touched the floor when I stood, but you could see my shoes a lot when I walked. Both sizes were fitted through my hips and were pretty snug when I sat down - I definitely had to take small steps and walk a little slower than normal! The only real difference I could feel between the two sizes was in the waist in back. There was a bit of a space between the dress and my back with the 42, but I used fashion tape to hold it in place and it was fine. I would have preferred to wear the 40 because it fit my waist properly, but unfortunately there was a weird puckering at the bottom of the zipper that just didn't look good when I had it on. Overall quality was good and totally acceptable, however the dress did look "used" when you looked at the lace up close (starting to pill a little). For the rental price though, I would 100% recommend renting this dress!

This dress is very elegant. It's classic, not overly sexy. Yet, the back of the dress shows a little skin. The way it forms on the hips is flattering and figure-revealing. I don't know that any picture can really show just how classic the dress it, but it's a definite winner.

I loved this dress!! The lace is a delicate pattern and even prettier in person. The open back was a great touch and adds even more character. I rented a 10 as this was a mermaid fit. The 10 was large in the top but I liked the roomier fit at my hips. Would rent again in a heartbeat!!

I rented this dress for a corporate black tie event and i was sad to give it back! The dress was very flattering on my body type and it fit perfectly (length too!) I am 5'3, pear shaped, and a very small chest, which worked out for this dress as the top was loose fitting. The dress was definitely a little tight in the hip area but the fabric had a little give and was still comfortable. I wish I had a picture of the back of the dress, but the open back was stunning. I received so many compliments on this dress, I would definitely rent again. I wore the Badgley Mischka Luminosity Pearl Earrings with this dress and they were the perfect accessory!

This dress is absolutely incredible and so chic and elegant. I was singled out at the event I attended by a gorgeous woman who called it a "showstopper." It fit perfectly, with just the right amount of hug through the hips to make it a little sexy, and constructed beautifully in eye-catching black lace. There dress has a subtle open back, so be aware you'll need a backless bra. I would rent this dress again and again. Rent it and be prepared for the compliments to pour in!

This dress was great for the black tie wedding I attended. However, I wasn't able to get the long size and the regular was too short with 3-4 inch heels. (I am only 5'5) I wore a kitten heel and the length was fine.

Great fit, it felt slimming and hugged the curves in all the right places! Disappointed in the length of the dress though…I am 5'7 and the regular length was too short to wear any heel over 1". I wish I had gotten the L length!

So this dress was great, although I should have gone with the regular length. The long was just too long, even with really high heels. I had to tie the dress up after the wedding just so I could walk around normally without stepping on the bottom. If you're around my height (5'7"), I would go with the regular length and wear average 2 inch heels. It would be perfect! Other than that, great dress. It was in great condition and looked super classy in photos!

I rented this dress for a formal event and had a great experience. While the dress is fitted on the bottom it was not uncomfortable or constricting. I wasn't busting any crazy moves at the end of the night on the dance floor - but I was still able to dance.The sleeves made me feel a little better about my pale, non-toned winter arms! The dress is open in the back (quick scramble for a stick-on bra required). It would be noticeable to wear a normal bra and the top is lose without any structure. I actually had this sent to a hotel out of town and brought one pair of shoes to go with it. They were a little too tall (3.5") and I thought it made the dress a little too short - but that's the only thing I'd do differently. I would absolutely rent this dress again, it seemed like the right balance of elegance, timelessness and comfort.

Beautiful dress that came free with endless compliments. I went up a size so it would be easier to move in, but my actual size was very right around the legs. If you want the sleek look, wear your true size. If you want to dance all night and stuff your face like me, go up one! It's absolutely stunning and I was sad to return it. The dress was a perfect fit and I absolutely loved it!! BUT, it was too short. I wore a 'long' and I still was only able to wear flats. It says the model is 5'10" and it looks long enough on her in the pictures, but I am 5'7" and it was almost too short for me. Other than that, it was perfect! It was beautiful and very comfortable. It is fitted through the waist and thighs and it complemented my figure well. I would recommend this dress!! But just watch out for the length! :)

I LOVED the dress. They did not have my size in stock so I wore one up and it still was flattering! It was a little bit big so I can imagine that the right size would have been PERFECT! It hugs you at all the right spots and really emphasizes your shape by cinching at the waist. The open back gives the dress that small sex appeal without coming off trashy. Truly a unique dress that you will receive a lot of compliments in. My only complaint was that it was too short - I ordered the long and it was just barely long enough to wear with 4 inch heels (Im 5'7")

As other reviews have stated this dress is a little snug around the hip/bottom area. This was the case for both the size 2 and 4 for me. That's just the fit. The size 2 fit perfectly! I was debating between the average length and long length ultimately going with the average. My heels were 2 1/2 inches and my shoes were visible which was fine by me. Any higher heels you would definitely want the long length. I have never received so many compliments in my life wearing a dress. Everyone said how elegant and flattering it was. I fell in love with this dress!!!!
