I rented this dress as a larger size backup but as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the dress I would be wearing for my event! I usually wear a size 8 but the 10 fit perfectly. I have a larger bust (36DD) so the bigger size was perfect for me, If you are less busty, I would imagine your usual size would fit perfectly. The fabric is very lux with a really stunning shine and the color is to die for! This is a dress I really wish I could have kept!

OH. MY. This dress is amazing. I wore this to my medical residency graduation, so needed to be appropriate and professional with faculty and colleagues. It was the perfect combo of edgy and conservative. The cut of the dress is insanely flattering with nice thick fabric that hides bumps. I was scared because there were no reviews yet but this dress was worth it!! I am 5'6" and the length hit just below the knee. It had a nice structured bodice so I went braless. The one shoulder drapes really nicely but does add a bit of dimension to your frame. There are small black stripes down either side of the dress that didn't really show up in pictures, but it pushed me to use silver shoes/jewelry/clutch rather than gold. The ONE thing to keep in mind- if you chose a size that is tight on the hips, there is no slit at the bottom, so I was-- 1) taking small steps and 2) really struggling to pull the dress up to pee!!! I thought I was going to get stuck in the bathroom stall with this dress around my waist.... Overall though, I have nothing but high praise for this stunning dress. I got so many compliments, including from our department chair who yelled "you look GORGEOUS!" when I walked in. Not bad.

I wore to my graduation celebration. There isn't too much give in the fabric and it's a straight skirt, so was a little tight across my hips. Nothing to keep me from having a great time. I usually wear a 2/4, I tried on the 2,4, and 6 and the 4 fit the best. The 6 didn't give me too much more room in the hips and was too big across the top. It was such a fun dress, so many compliments!

I rented this for an evening awards dinner that turned out to be a surprise wedding! I agree with other reviewers that the dress runs small, so definitely rent your actual size and one size up because there's not much give or stretch to the fabric, which has more of a quilted/woven feel. The color is a vibrant blue, and the shoulder strap in the front and back drapes across giving the dress giving it more of an elegant look and regal feel. Pair this dress with some gold, silver or even green shoes and accessories and you're good to go! One thing though is the zipper is VERY stiff! You'll need someone to zip and unzip you for this dress.

I tend to run between a 14 and a 16, in this case I opted for the 16 as it was more comfortable, but it was big through the bust and waist. This dress is GORGEOUS. I received compliments all night long and I felt beautiful. I totally regret not getting a better picture of me in this dress!

The blue looks amazing in pictures, especially if you are in an outdoor setting. I have a pear-shaped body so although if was a little tight for the lower part of my body, it was enough to where I could still dance majority of the night (just don't try to do the stanky leg and you'll be alright). This dress also works really well if you aren't very busty. The top did great in creating an illusion there. I received compliments all night, I am so glad I decided to go with this dress!

This was an amazing dress. How amazing, you ask? So amazing that when I found it on sale online a few months later, I bought it! Everything about this dress screams classic, sophisticated elegance, but with a hint of va-va-voom. The fabric, the color, the cut, everything is perfection. I will caution that this dress does run a bit small - it's made to be very snug. I had to unzip it to use the restroom, as there is no slit at the bottom and therefore no way to get the skirt hiked up! This may not be the best dress for ladies with large chests, as I am a 32A.

I honestly wish I took more photos than this one but I was so consumed with coordinating the event. The material is super nice and breathable so with all the running around I had to do, I still looked very well put together especially with the bold, royalty looking blue. Oh and the fit was perfect for me!!

Fit well - was able to wear a strapless bra. It was a great color, even though the dress did show some wear. I have full hips for my size and it was a bit tight, but the 2 was too large. Would recommend for someone with a smaller chest, like me!

I received tons of compliments on this dress! The dress is made of great quality and it shows. The dress is not shiny like it appears in the photo; it has a nice texture. It has a black stripe down the side that is not shown in the picture on the website. I paired it with black heels for an evening wedding.

I wore this dress to a formal event and lost count of the number of compliments I received. The color is stunning and the dress was true to size. The only con was there was some pilling along the sides. Rent it if you want to turn heads :-).

This dress has a gorgeous color and surprisingly comfortable fit. Their is a liner on the dress, so if you're in between sizes, probably best to go up a size to avoid the pulling of the interior lining.

The dress photographs so well and made me feel gorgeous! I have a small chest, but larger hips and the dress fit like a glove. It is thicker fabric, which did tend to be a little warm for a summer wedding.

My mom is NOT the girly dress-wearing type (she had changed into her "comfy" sandals by the time of this photo), so I knew renting would be the way to go for her mother-of-the-bride dress for my wedding. We're almost the exact same height and weight, she just has a larger ribcage than me, so we ordered her a 6 and 8. She ended up wearing the 8 because it was a little more comfortable, but both sizes would have worked. The top was looser on the 8 but she has a more bottom-heavy shape. Overall she said she got SO many compliments on the dress and people just raved about it. Highly recommend!!

I loved this dress! The color was beautiful and fit was flattering! My only complaint was that I had to adjust the top to avoid showing "side boob". I probably could have worn a size down, but they were out of it, so the larger size allowed me to dance! It runs just a touch large in my opinion. Elegant, classy, and beautiful blue jewel tone!

It was a little baggy in the hips but I have an athletic build so someone with curves could fill it out more. There was a little fraying on the sides near the bottom, but they were barely noticeable.

Nothing gives your ensemble a formal upgrade like a bold, cobalt blue dress. The thick, draped fabric keeps the color and cut from looking cheap - trust me, this dress is nothing but classiness and elegance. The cut is formfitting without being uncomfortable and the length allows the dress to teeter between cocktail attire and black tie with ease for that event you're "unsure of."

I normally wear a 0/2 in dresses and tried on both, but ended up wearing the 4 as I have a larger rump and the 2 was just a wee bit too tight for a wedding. There is no stretch in this dress and while it runs true to size, I'd order a size up as your back-up. I received compliments on this dress all evening and it was easy to dance and move around in - though, don't expect to take any long NYC strides as it's a bit tight around the legs/knees. The dress is a heavier fabric, making it perfect for the fall morning wedding I was attending. Also, you can't really see in the photos, but there's a solid black line - very tuxedo like - down each side. All in all, amazing dress that I'd happily recommend!

Definitely doesn't run big, so I went with an 8 as I always do with dresses that are fitted at the hip (I'm usually a 6 with a full skirt). This dress made me feel like a million bucks! It has an expensive look and brings the right drama with the texture, color, and one-shoulder style. I felt like Michelle Obama, and to me, that's high praise! I naturally stood up straighter and held my shoulders back because I felt so confident. Love!

I used this dress for a November Wedding --perfect for the fall. It was a little big on top but fit fine on the bottom. Great fabric, held well for the nite and thru dancing. I suggest using a strapless bra . I took a gamble on this dress since it didn't have much reviews and I am glad I did. The dress totally stood out. Loved it!!

The dress fit perfectly , I did not need to wear a bra which is a big deal for me because I HATE wearing bras for formal nights out - it's just one more thing to worry about. The dress fit great in the waist , slightly difficult to do stairs up but that's because I am short and the dress fell right below the knee. I also had to work a little to get the skirt down after using the restroom. I wore this for a formal Indian wedding in Naples Florida . I received many compliments on the style, color and over all look :) I felt great ! Only issue was the first one came smelled a bit but RTR shipped out another the next day!

I'm between an 18w and a 20w. The 18w was too small on me. The 20w just fit on the bottom and was a bit big on top (and I'm a 42ddd top). The material has NO give so be forewarned. That said, I thought the cut was flattering and the color truly is stunning. It's a beautiful dress.

True to size, although the label says 14 and not 14W. No stretch and a slightly cranky zipper. I am a 36G bust and it fit me fine. Hits just below the knee which is great if you are north of 29. Gorgeous, bright, lustrous fabric with a lot of body and good drape that held up well over many hours. Boned bodice so no need to wear a bra (although I did wear a strapless bra). It was really a show-stopper. We arrived early for the ceremony and walked through the neighborhood to get coffee in bright sunshine. In my dress and all-gold accessories, I got a lot of smiles from strangers! I felt like a starlet.

This super sleek cobalt jacquard sheath is a go-to for your next cocktail or even black-tie event. The snug material fits true to size with structure that makes it easy to go bra-less or opt for a strapless bra if necessary. For backup, I recommend sizing up if you're curvier and down if you're smaller framed. At 5'7", the dress hit at about my knees. I really love intricate pleating and effortless draping of the one shoulder. To accessorize, go for delicate earrings.

This was my back up dress for a work semi-formal. I ended up wearing it because the color was so vibrant and the subtle pattern of the fabric was fabulous. The black stripes on the side made it an easy choice to wear black pumps and clutch. Was very pleased with it. Didn't need to wear a bra because the top was snug and fabric thick enough. This is a gorgeous color in person! It is a medium weight fabric that looked fabulous all night. The dress is boned in the front but it still very comfortable to wear. You will need a strapless bra for this dress.

This dress is gorgeous in person! The color is amazing! The fabric is a bit heavy, which makes it better for either indoor events with a lot of air conditioning, or in my case a semi-indoor fall wedding and reception. It was just chilly enough that I needed a jacket while we were going to and from the car, but it was the perfect weight when we were at the wedding dancing, drinking, and enjoying ourselves. Much like other reviewers have noted, I did notice some piling along the zipper line and sides of the dress. It wasn't bad, and not something that anyone was going to notice or comment on. It fit very well! I was actually surprised that it was a little big in the bust for me, considering I typically have issue with things being small in the bust. This might also just be because of the one-shoulder style causing one side to gape more than the other. It fit a little tight in the midsection, but nothing that a pair of spanx didn't make all better. I paired this dress with some silver heels and silver and crystal bracelet and earrings. I also carried a silver Kate Spade purse with me (which can also be rented on RTR). It was a fabulous dress for a fabulous evening, and I am honestly a little sad to have sent it back.
