Stylist Review!
This gown is perfect for a spring or summer black tie event. It runs true to size, but smaller in the hips so consider sizing up for backup if you are curvier in this area. I tried on the size 2R, but definitely think the 0L would have fit perfectly. The bust was a bit large on me and the length was a tad too short in heels. Since the gown has such a low/open back you do need to wear a low back bra, no bra, or NuBra with this style. Overall a fun style, would look great with statement earrings and a great clutch.

I wore this to the Heart Ball. I was stopped many times and told I wore the dress of the night!
This is the second time I've worn this designer. It fits very true to size. The gown doesn't give much support in the bust. This would not work well on smaller busted women. The belt that came with it really adds something, but it was way too big for the dress. I had to pin the belt on the dress. Highly recommend this dress. It was comfortable and made me feel great!

Simple but still a stand-out for an over-the-top event.
Wore this to a fundraising drag ball (Night of a Thousand Gowns) and felt glamorous and chic. It was true-to-size or even a bit large. It was a bit roomie so I skipped the Spanx, but looking at photos wish I kept them on. Dress has a belt that arrives in a baggie which I nearly missed!

"Lady In Red" Being the only one wearing red definitely made a statement..
Normally I wear a 4 and luckily I ordered the 2. The 4 left too much room in the curve of my back but the 2 fit perfectly.

Was glad I was able to pick two styles at a discounted rate!
Rented but ended up going with another dress due to fit issues. I am typically a 4. I rented the 4l and 6l and I would have been a perfect 5l! 4 was too small in the ribcage but perfect everywhere else. 6 was great in the ribcage but to big everywhere else. Belts on both were too long. Gorgeous dress, I lOVE the way the train swooshed behind me.

Great formal gown
Ordered the 6R & 6L. I'm 5'6" and wore 4 inch heels. The 6L fit perfectly. I'm a 32DD/DDD so my bust sagged just a little due to my backless bra not being able to hold the girls up properly, but overall they still looked good. The belt was about 4 or 5 inches too long. Had to "rig" it up to make it work. Overall, a great dress for the scholarship gala I attended.

Stands out elegantly in a crowd
This dress was stunning, but not without it's challenges. I measure 38-26-38 and found the 6R to run very large in the waist and chest (there was about 4" of extra material in the waist). The belt was so big, it fell down to my hips, so I had to tie it, which ended up looking fine. Hips fit true to size (couple inches of extra fabric, I could easily sit without adjusting the dress), and the bust easily accommodated my full chest (30H). The straps were long enough that they needed to be secured, and the back is low enough to prohibit wearing even a low-backed bustier/ bra, so I got creative with double-stick tape since I can't go without support. I wore 5" heels, and the length was perfect, though people stepped on the little train all night. I should have worn the 4R, which fit my bust, waist and hips, but the straps were way too short, and pulled the whole dress up in a weird way so the waist and hips didn't sit in a natural spot on my body. This dress was not my first choice (or second, third or fourth, but that's a different story about my dress being unavailable at the last minute and RTR being sold out of anything that could accommodate my needs. Kudos to the customer service team!), but I received a lot of compliments, and really like how the color stands out in a sea of tuxedos and black gowns.

Felt like the bell of the ball
It was love at first sight with this dress but it did present some challenges. It runs a little small through the hips and was forced to go a size up. Wore the 8R which was more comfortable but a little big in the bust line . Had to stuff a bra in the front to make it fit correctly which was a little uncomfortable all night. Over all loved the dress.

My third time renting from rent the runway and now a 3rd awesome experience.!
Really great for a pear shape! I'm 5'3 and 137lbs& 34dd.I may have been able to get away with a 2, but I'm glad I went with the 4. Other reviews always help a great deal with my choice and I'm never disappointed. I would say it runs short. Not for me, but someone any tall then I and plans on heels should go for the long. I wore a wedge so I could be comfortable when dancing. I changed to a flat later and it was still fine! I will continue to rent my gowns for my husband's DFD ball!

This dress is amazing, I felt like a celebrity!
If I owned the dress I would have brought it in around the waist but otherwise this dress fit perfectly. I received compliments all night and this red was perfect for a holiday party. I was able to move comfortably, eat ALOT, and dance with no problems. The back is low cut so make sure you wear a backless bra if you want some support!

Spectacular dress, you'll feel glamorous!
I'm 5'9", 150 pounds with wider hips, small waist and bigger bust (34 D). The 8 was the only size left and I would go smaller since the straps were a bit lose. The dress is very flattering in all the right places. The low back is sexy and I ended up not wearing a bra. The material is thick and comfortable. The dress is a true ball gown and has a small train even for my height. Overall I felt incredibly sexy and glamorous (wore it for a James Bond themed ball). The belt was missing but it didn't even need it!

I got compliments from COMPLETE STRANGERS! Felt like a princess!
The waist was a little tight but the 4R was too long and the straps had too much slack... so if you have a sit-down dinner, wear some spanx or keep the carbs to a minimum.

Curves for Days!
I felt like a bombshell in this - it was low cut and great for my smaller chest. That said, I'm a little hippy and this was snug int the hips. Had to hike it up a little to sit down! But the color was lovely, got tons of compliments and was one of the few dressed in red at a theatre gala! Would rent a size up next time!

perfect old hollywood vibe
Length was perfect- wore with 4 inch heels. Did not arrive with the belt and I had to rush it to my drycleaner to steam out the wrinkles and he mentioned he could tell it had been altered previously. It fit perfectly other than the seam at the belly button- left it looking like it was a touch baggy. I have a pretty wide ribcage but didn't have a problem zipping it. I loved the small train, was a great addition. I felt comfortable and lovely the whole night.

I wore this for a 1960s themed NYE party. It was fabulous and I received many compliments.
I usually expect to fit a size 4 but the size 2 fit best. The bust was a little big and I used dress tape to keep the straps in place. The belt was weirdly huge and I needed dress tape for that as well. I think this would have looked best on someone with more of an hourglass; my hips and ass really didn't fill it out adequately, but it still looked pretty good. This isn't a style of dress I'd worn before and it definitely felt like playing dress up in a fun way.

Dress made me feel gorgeous!
This was my first rtr experience and it was wonderful! I rented the Theia dress kind of last minute so there wasn't many sizes available. I went for it anyway and it didn't fit and there was no backup size available. They overnighted me this dress and it was fantastic. I actually think it looked better on me than the Theia dress. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really needed the long, but again being last minute all they had was the regular. I ended up wearing a kitten heel and you really couldn't tell. It was definitely a gorgeous dress on! I loved the small train. I felt like I was turning heads all night especially since most people were wearing black. I would definitely recommend this dress for anyone's formal event!

definitely a head turner!
Had a terrible experience, mostly my fault. Ordered the 12 and 10 thinking it would fit based on previous reviews. BIG MISTAKE!!! I will admit that I had a gained a few pounds in the 2 months wait time but I have never had to order a 14 in anything! I don't know if it was my boobs (which definitely make it difficult to guess) or if it really runs that small but, I definitely suggest if you are big chested, to go with a bigger size. The after hours stylists assisted with a two day replacement. Luckily it arrived in time. Overall, I received numerous compliments. Not all directed towards my cleavage, haha. Note: The belt did not arrive with the dress and I had to have it overnighted. Be sure and check as soon as possible or you will be pushing to get it in time.

Dress was a hit! Compliments all night long!
This was my backup dress as I was ambitious with the sizing on my first choice. It was a huge hit at a formal wedding in Boston. I'm 5'2", 36C, 150 lbs, athletic build - usually a 6 in pants and small/medium top. The fit was snug but not uncomfortable, little extra fabric in the side of the bust but nothing noticeable- I wore a sticky bra to pull the girls together. 4" heels made the length perfect.

Needed a long gown for a very fancy wedding
This dress looked great on and photographed very well. I am normally a 6 in a dress and the 6R fit perfectly through the hips. I have a VERY small chest (like 34AA small) and would have liked this dress to be even smaller up top. You cannot wear a bra with this (I wore adhesive cups) and this dress would not fit someone with a large chest. I am 5'8" verging on 5'9" and I was surprised at how short the dress was. If you are 5'8" or taller and want to wear heels then order the LONG option. I was able to find a cute shoe with a 1" heel, but even that was pushing it on the length. The dress was in excellent condition. Overall I could not be happier with my Rent the Runway experience. If you are local to one of their brick & mortar stores it's worth stopping in to try things on and talk to a consultant.

Gorgeous color
This is a very elegant dress. The color and hourglass shape really make you stand out. I got the 6L and 8L. I decided to go with another dress I had rented but if I had worn this one, I would have gone with the 6L. As another reviewer commented, the best that comes with it is huge so I would have had to pin it. If you are curvy (smaller waist than hips and bust) this will be gorgeous on you. I sent pictures of me in it to mom and sister to get opinions and they both noted it was super sexy. Next event I will probably rent this dress and wear it.

Great color, wrinkly fabric
The cut of this dress is beautiful and compliments hour glass figures best. The fabric was definitely prone to wrinkles, and I would not suggest this dress if you are sitting down for most of the night. It was a bit big on me so I ended up not wearing it, but I would if it fit correctly.

Stunning dress for curvey women
Agree with other users that the bust and belt are too big on this dress. I'm a 34D and felt like I needed to be one cup size bigger. The belt hung lose and wasn't sized properly to the dress. I ended up scraping it. The bottom fit well as I am also very curvey in the thigh/bum area. With that being said, I got compliments on this dress all night. It was definitely a hit.

If you get the right fit - this is a real stunner.
I ordered the 6R and 8R. I'm about 5'6' and 137 lbs - fairly lean/athletic with 34B bra size. The 6R fit me up top but was a tight through the bottom. The 8R fit the bottom but gapped on the top. Soooo....I ended up wearing a different dress - BUT my girlfriend who is about 5'3' and 125 lbs (she wears HIGH heels) - she is fairly lean/athletic with a 34C/D wore the size 6 and it fit her perfectly. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Awkward fit
This was a backup dress for a black tie wedding, chosen and sent to me by an RTR stylist when my preferred dress was damaged by the previous renter. It was red like my original choice, but the pink accents didn't work as well for a fall wedding as they might have for a spring or summer event. I would not recommend this dress for small- or medium-chested women--the top was huge and puckered out in a few different places (I am usually a 2 or 4 and was sent the 4R). The material was stiff so since it was too big, it had several odd-looking lumps around my chest and hips. The belt was way too big for the dress but it had a 4 written on it in Sharpie, so I'm not sure what the story is there...it was extremely loose on me despite having been clearly altered by another renter who moved the snaps in a few inches to make it tighter (so then it was still too lose, but also had a little flap of extra belt sticking out awkwardly like a tail). An adjustable belt or ribbon would be much better on this dress because it pretty much has to sit perfectly at the waist. Contrary to other reviewers and the RTR guidance, I do think it could be possible to wear a strapless bra with this dress--I tried it and it didn't show despite the low back of the dress. It's a pretty nice look from the back, but the front was so weird there was no way I was going to wear it. Fortunately my other dress fit just right in the one size available, so I went that route and got lots of compliments!

Beautiful style and color, but make sure you can fill it out!
I received this dress in 0R and 2R. I normally wear a 0, but this size was still too big, especially in the bust. I wear a 32D or a 34C, but this dress was still pretty roomy. It was even move difficult because the back of the dress is too low for a strapless bra to work safely. This dress also had strange darts in the bust that made the silhouette rather pointy in the chest. I wouldn't suggest this for anyone smaller than a 34DD.

Weird Fit, and Material
The dress is pretty, but the straps should be adjustable. I'm usually a size 0 but since I'm also 30D for bust, and Most dresses usually run tight on the top for me, so I thought this would be a good option because other reviews said the bust was a little loose. They were right. The bust is too large, there was nothing you can do since it's such a low back, it wasn't like I could simply put on a padded bra. Also, the material is a little weird. I expected it to be a little stiff in order to keep that shape, but I don't know how else to describe it, other than odd. It's not a smooth silk feel or flat, for a lack of a better description, it's got ribbing through out. And the red, is not quite as bright as it looked on screen.

I loved the way this dress looked! It was very flattering. Not too tight and perfect length
Pro - perfect height with 4" heels Con - The straps need to be shortened, but it was an easy fix with safety pins Fit - Flattering. The flare on the bottom made the rest of the silhouette appear thinner

I didn't end up wearing this gown. Overall great fit, although I wish the straps were adjustable.
The dress was great, however I would have needed to take it in to my local dry cleaner to get the wrinkles out of the bottom in order to wear it. I'm 5'2 and would have worn at least 3 inch heels to make the length of the dress work for me. I'm a 34DD and the top of the dress fit great, but I would definitely recommend double sided tape if you have a larger bust. The back of the dress is soo pretty! I just loved the other red dress I chose a little more. I would definitely rent this gown for another event!

Great dress...just not for me!
Tried this one on and was disappointed. I know I need a 14L for my height, but sometimes I can fudge a 14R (there's no 14L available) but this was beyond too short, especially with the stiff fabric it just looked silly. My bf loved the fit saying I looked "curvy and sexy" but for me it was far too tight on the hips, and too large in the bust/shoulders. It's not that the dress runs large or small...it's just for a very specific body type. If you're a true hourglass with ample bosom, small waist, and proportionate hips you will look like a million bucks in this dress. I looked okay - but the fit issues, while not huge on their own (length, hips, bust), all added up to a "not gonna work".
