Cons: Zipper was worn out, a little discoloration in the armpit area, and is longer in the for anyone who is short. Pros: Quality is great, if you have cute shoes it's the perfect formal dress to subtly show them off. Pockets are always a win.

This dress was perfect for a black tie wedding at at high end venue. I received compliments all night. I am a 34DDD and was worried about sizing. A RTR consultant helped me choose the size and it worked out great. There is a built in bra and plenty of boning. A good choice for larger chested ladies - you only need to worry about fitting on top since the bottom of the dress essentially fits all.

The pockets are the best part! Check the rent the runway website and the designer website for sizing charts. I had to go up a size.

From the moment I put this dress on, I felt so glamorous. Even though it is a big dress with a LOT of fabric, it felt so light and comfortable. I received a ton of compliments and felt so great it in all night. I am usually weary of strapless for an event that involves dancing, but this dress stayed put all night. I ordered my usual size and it fit perfectly. It can be challenging for a tall girl to find a dress that is the perfect length and the tall size in this dress was spot on. I would absolutely recommend this dress to anyone!

I specifically picked this dress because I was working behind-the-scenes for a huge gala event. I knew I would have a heavy radio with an earpiece all night long, so I needed a dress that looked great but was still versatile. My original plan was to use the pockets to hold the radio, but the device was too heavy. I ended up wearing the larger of the two dresses that I rented in order to hold the radio in the back and it was PERFECT! My dress pockets held my phone, room key and lip gloss, which was really helpful. If you ever have to work an event, this is the dress for you!

I wore this dress to my prom, and RTR did an AMAZING JOB. the dress runs big so you might want to go a size down. I absolutely loved renting from RTR and I would 100% do it again and I so plan on it! loved this fun and classy dress!!!!

I was worried because both sizes weren't available for shipping, but the 2L ended up working just fine. Love the pockets. Love that it was longer in the back. Perfect for tall girls. I was able to wear with kitten heels. ML never fails with her dresses!

This dress was beautiful and fit perfect. I was very impressed by the quality of the dress. I actually ordered this dress in 14 and 16 and the 16 was not available for shipping. I was impressed that RTR sent me two extra dress options for free. I and a 14-16 and was able to wear the 14 after all. I got compliments on how beautiful this dress was.

This was a black tie work event, so I wanted to look elegant but have fun with my outfit. This dress was super comfortable and so chic. I received compliments all night and for the entire week after at work!

It was tough getting into without any help, so I needed some assistance to help zip and fasten a "bra-like" closure across the back of the dress. Once I got it on, it fit perfectly, and I'm so glad because there wasn't an alternate size available for the dates I needed it. I sang, moved around on stage and received several compliments on our dresses.

I wore this dress to an American Cancer Society benefit. Coincidentally there were at least 5 women with gowns that were white on top and black on the bottom. All were different, thankfully. I received many compliments. The zipper is had to pull up, but this was so for the other of the ML Monique Lhuillier dress I rented before. The inside of the top is well structured and no bra is necessary. The dress was flattering on me and I think that it would be be for many women, except maybe someone very short. This is an elegant sophisticated look. I paired it with the Stardust Necklace by Sequin, simple pearl earrings and black satin 4 inch sandal/pumps.

I wore this dress for prom and I received so many compliments! The pockets are large and roomy. I could easily fit several items in the pockets. The dress's fabric is thick, so you may get a little warm in it. I found it easy to maneuver in though and I wish I could keep it! Definitely met all my expectations!

This was my first RTR dress and I fell in love. Formal but fun. The tea length was perfect. Classy, simple, no fuss. It fit perfectly and was comfortable for dancing. Surprisingly, I didn't have to pull it up every few minutes even though it's strapless--major bonus. The pockets, though, are really what put this dress in my top 5 favorite ever. They are huge! I didn't have to carry anything all night. I got so many compliments on this dress that I will in all honesty likely rent this one again.

It fit perfectly but I'm a short girl (5ft). I had on 3 inch heels and I was dragging the dress. But it was easy to walk around in; going up and down stairs since the front is short. I ordered a 4 and 6. The 6 was comfortable but I'm a 32DD and didn't feel comfortable with the bones of the dress and the bra on at the same time. So I tried on the 4, it was snug fit but after zipping it up it was comfortable and held up nicely. So overall I loved the dress plus it has pockets!!

The fit is true to size, I usually wear a size 6 in pants and size S or M as a shirt size. For dresses, I usually go a size up, I have a strange type of body.This dress is beautiful, you don't need much accessorize because the dress speaks for its self. The only thing I struggled with was the zipper, ON or OFF the zipper was a pain, be ready to make some strange maneuvers on this issue. I love that the dress has pockets. It's been a while since I wanted to wear a dress with this design and I loved it.

I felt like this dress was stepping a little bit out of my comfort zone because I'm a little curvy and usually shy away from anything that flares at the hips like this. I'm so glad I tried it because I loved this dress! The fit was great, and the length was perfect with 3" heels. I added a gold sequin belt, which I felt defined the waist nicely. Also, the shoes in the pic are shorter than the ones I ended up wearing, but they were nearby when I was taking the picture! I got lots of compliments and highly recommend this dress!

This was my first RTR experience so I was crazy nervous. Ordered the 12l and 14l for a masquerade ball on a Saturday. Dresses and a necklace came Friday and the 12 fit PERFECTLY! I felt beautiful strutting around with my hands in my pockets like I owned the ball. It was a comfortable and classy and I wanted to keep it!

I would have preferred to go up a size but it was not available. By the end of the night the boning in the dress began to hurt.

I had a black tie wedding in DC and while I had a dress already, I wasn't loving it - and this was a very formal, important wedding. Stopped by the Georgetown shop the day before the wedding, and the stylists put this amazing dress in the dressing room. It fit me like a glove without a bra and I didn't have to pull it up once throughout the night - though it did take 2 people to help zip it up! The dress was just long enough in the back - dragged slightly, but not so much as to be distracting or something people stepped on. Best worn with shoes with some bling. Once I took my 4" heels off, however, there were a few more issues, as those 4 inches now dragged. I have a very wide rib cage and a large chest, so it's difficult for me to find a dress in a flattering cut - this one was perfect. I loved it, and would rent it again in a second.

Wore to holiday party, received many compliments from the guys and the ladies. Would have sized down (usually an 8 across the board) however the 8R top was silver, not white - weird and kind of a bummer. Luckily the larger back up size (10L) was a true white on top and fit just fine once I added a strapless bra. Def needed help zipping. Pockets were wonderful - deep enough for phone, keys, and lipstick. The modest hi-low hem meant that the R or L length didn't really matter - but you definitely want great shoes since they will peek out.

Loved this dress! The way it flows as you walk looks incredible and makes you feel regal. The built in corset & bra are perfectly done ... no bra needed, and no slippage when you're workin' it on the dance floor (trust me!). I'm 5'10", so I always worry that the long size will still be too short. This one was perfect. Wore it with 3.5" heels & it was about 3/4" off the floor in the back. It photographs like a midi-skirt, but I love that look, so I didn't mind. Oh, and the pockets are perfect for stashing your phone so you don't miss a photo op all night!

Fit was true to size, didn't mind strapless as it was quite snug. Pockets were awesome! Loved the high-low of the hem. Wore red shoes and lipstick. Also rented necklace I have on in the photo. So many compliments all night on the dress.

The original dressed I ordered was unavailable so I chose this one as a back up and boy am I glad I did! This dress was elegant yet comfortable. I wore it to a Black Tie event and I got compliments all night. I felt amazing and was truly sad to have to return it! It's just beautiful!!

My first experience with this Company and (more importantly) THIS dress completely *made* my evening! While I may have had dresses at home, they didn't fit in a flattering way and this dress made me feel like I was truly on the Red Carpet! The fabric was high-quality and similar to a thick brocade, so it was perfect for a January evening. However, it wasn't bulky and an under-layer of tulle gave it just the right shape, without it being a ball-gown or feeling weighted down. The *pockets* were my favorite aspect, as I didn't need to carry a clutch or spend extra time/money trying to find one in red (to go with my shoes). My hands were free to enjoy a glass of wine & hug others! While the hemline was not a dramatic hi/lo hem as in the picture, it's probably not because of the dress! It's because I'm only 5'1 and wore a 3-inch heel, but I was glad that I also wasn't tripping on the dress all night either. However, it did create a slight train in back, so I had to keep warning the Boyfriend to be careful. I agree with other reviews and opted not to wear a strapless bra, however I *did* wear Spanx because the white bust/waist area fit better, it eliminated any hip/tummy issues, AND the zipper worked better, too. I think the strapless bra just created too much thickness/fabric underneath, and with this modern, classic style, you *don't* want ample cleavage and my 36DD ladies were still comfortable with the gentle boning in the bust & there was no show-through. If ladies are worried about hips or their mid-section, DO wear Spanx, but DON'T wear a bra & pull the dress a little lower. I promise it won't fall down and the seam where the black and white fabric meet should hit at your waistline. It shouldn't be quite an "empire waist". This dress arrived a day early (the 26th instead of 27th), and I truly was sad to mail it back on my last day of rental! I got so many compliments that I spent most of the evening telling the other attendees about Rent the Runway! I would definitely rent this dress again (and probably will!), and with a back-up size in your arsenal for free, you can't go wrong with this Company! And that's coming from a 1st-time Renter :)

I ordered two dresses and I am so glad I did. My first pick had not been very well maintained (beads were falling off) so I went with option No. 2. The dress fit me perfectly. I felt fabulous.

I wish I didn't have to send this back. It was comfortable, classy, and it had pockets! I wore it to the Inaugural Ball and VIP party. Many compliments, including "that is the best dress of the night". I paired it with gold glitter heels and a statement necklace. I ordered a 4R and a 6L. I should have ordered a 4L, the 4 fit better on top but the 6 was the better length. I am usually a 4 or 6 in dresses, so I would recommend going a size down if you are in between sizes like me.

Loved the look of this dress! I wanted a ballgown for the TX Inaugural Ball and the hi-lo style of this gown was perfect. And the pockets!! Loved the pockets. Dress fit true to size and since I'm not really fond of my hips/thighs, this style was just what I needed. Great dress!!

I loved this dress, it actually ended up being my second option after another one didn't fit and they were out of the other sizes, but I'm so glad that happened! I received a ton of compliments and felt very sophisticated, glamorous, etc! I would highly recommend this dress...plus it fit true to size which was nice since I have broad shoulders/back and a large bust.

I wore it to my company's annual fundraiser (Tux N Tennies.. Which explains the sneakers!) It was my departments function so I needed a dress that was easy to move around in! This was the perfect dress because I had the opportunity to highlight my shoes but still had the formal appeal because it was floor length in the back. My most favorite part was the pockets. I received compliments all night long! It's very comfortable and fits true to size! I am 5'10 and I wore the 10L.. Normally you would wear heels with this dress so I would definitely suggest getting a Long if you are a taller girl!

The fit was wonderful! unlike many strapless dresses this one stays put. The pockets some in handy for storing lipsticks or a camera. I wish I would have gotten the longer one so it was to the floor, but it was perfect for the event we attended.

I wore this to a black tie New Year's Eve gala. I felt like a princess! It was elegant, lightweight, and had pockets! The fit is true to size. It was a perfect length for me with 5" heels. The look was classic, elegant and timeless paired with the red shoes and mask. I will rent this again!!!!!! The only bad part of the experience was having to part with the dress and send it back!
