Finding something to wear to a formal event that begins at 3 pm can be challenging..... Purchasing another formal dress that I'd likely not wear again in this lifetime can also be challenging.... I felt it important to begin there! :) This dress was everything I signed up for! It was a statement piece alone, fun, on trend, bold, and reasonably priced-- of course. I ordered two sizes (Mainly because I've recently lost a few pounds, but also because I am well-endowed up top so I wasn't sure which would work best.) At first, we had a time zipping it, the zipper was a little temperamental, but finally with a little muscle from my neighbor, it was just fine. Needless to say, it all worked out well. When the dress arrived, it was quite wrinkled, so I used a $30 steamer from Target and it literally changed my life! I would also recommend you consider a simple, but stylish, stiletto. The dress alone sends a message.... Too busy of a shoe could send the "wrong" message-- just too much. I was extremely pleased with this dress and the entire process! I'd highly recommend both the dress and Rent the Runway to anyone who may inquire.... and even a few who may not! :)

The dress fit perfectly. It cinched at the waist and was very flattering on my body type. I would Absolutely order it again in a different color!

When I received the dress it was a little smooshed and could've used good steam, but it still did the trick! I'm 5'9" and wore 3 inch heels, I rented the 10r and 8r and it was the perfect length. No need for me to get the long! The 10r was just a tad loose, I felt myself fidgeting in it, so I decided to wear the 8. I still wore a strapless bra, though I'm sure I wouldn't have needed it if my husband could help me get in it correctly! (His hand was injured!) I received many many compliments in this dress! I had such a great experience I'm thinking of using RTR for a wedding and my HS reunion this year!

This dress was amazing for a black tie wedding and I felt so beautiful in it! The 2 fit perfectly. It was a little long even with 4 inch heels but I'm short so I'm used to that. It's a little worn which is to be expected and there was some boning sticking out in places. But other than that the dress was super comfortable and I am so happy I went with this dress!

No stretch so had to pick the bigger size that would fit my chest but it was slightly loose in the waist (I'm big busted). Comfy to dance in, sit in, look beautiful in, etc. The train of the dress was worn but no one could tell/see.

I loved the fabric and the snug fit around the bust. The dress has a beautiful flow to it and it was just the right length with heels on! I received several compliments! Great experience.

I've been eyeing this dress for a while and was excited to have a black tie optional wedding to wear it to. I was nervous about the length as the reviews were mixed for my height - I am 5"7.5 and normally wear a size 4 dress. I ordered a 4 regular and 2 long as my backup size (I went a size down because I have a small chest). The 4R didn't touch the floor without shoes on, so I ended up wearing the 2L with ~ 3.5" heels and it was perfect. The only thing was that my shoes kept getting stuck in the train for the first hour or so, but once I got used to wearing it I was totally fine. I also liked that the fabric was heavy - it kept me warm at an early May wedding.

The bust fit perfectly but there was no support in the dress so I definitely had to wear a strapless bra (I'm a 30G). Also, I'm 5'5" and I wore the regular length and there was a slight train of 2-3 inches... even with 3.5" heels on. I absolutely loved the dress and it was totally perfect for a night at the opera!

The color is beautiful. The dress fit true to size. I did not want to return it! I loved it so much.

This VIVID PINK dress is what dreams are made of. It fit SO WELL and made me feel like the classiest girl at my boyfriend's military ball. I also paired it with Kate Spade Crystal Petals Necklace and Ella Carter Riley Earrings. I read some reviews where some ladies did not wear a bra with this dress. I am a 34DD and opted to wear one for the extra support. When I tried the dress without one, I knew I'd be pulling the dress up all night, but also knew the 6 would be too small in my waist. The length also was great - I wore 4" heels and had a slight train, which made for a very elegant look. Give it a day to hang and let out any wrinkles from shipping or use a gentle steamer. This was my first rental and will NOT be my last! The dress and my jewelry arrived in Hawaii the same day I did and sending it back was a breeze. I'm so excited to rent again!

This dress is pretty true to size. I typically wear a 6 in dresses, especially ones with a less structured bottom portion. The top stayed in place even after a few hours of dancing (I'm a 32dd). At 5'3 the back of the dress was a little long, but after putting on my 3.5" heels it was perfect. I didn't have to worry about anyone accidentally stepping on it. This dress was the perfect combination of fun and fancy!

I wanted a showstopper and this is what this dress is! I loved the color, cut, and fit. It was tight enough around my chest that it never slipped down (I have a very small chest so going strapless isn't always an option) and going with the L instead of R size, was perfect for me (I'm 5'8").

I loved wearing this dress for a formal event at the end of March. Everyone is ready for spring weather and this gorgeous deep pink paired with my turquoise accessories was very cheery and evoked thoughts of warm weather! It also stood out in the crowd of dark blues and blacks and deep purples. I am 5'10", 160lbs, a 36C and the 10L fit to perfection. This was my first time renting from RTR, and I received an email days before my event saying that my original order was not available due to needing repair. So they asked me for a few back up options and this is the one that was available. I am so glad that this is the one I wore. I think the original dress I had ordered wouldn't have stood out quite as nicely as this one did. My order was shipped via UPS and the UPS driver required a signature, and naturally, I wasn't home when they came to deliver. So I had to go to the UPS facility to pick up the dress which wasn't RTR's fault, just something for other renters to keep in mind.

This dress was a hit for my graduate school cherry blossom ball. It's very figure flattering in an a line, high-low hem. No one had anything like it! Pros - color and cut very flattering and the dress really shows off a sexy lower leg. Cons - a bit heavy and slips down. It was just a little big in the chest. Undergarments - I wore a strapless bra to try and fill out the top, but it wasn't necessary. This dress is too heavy for Hollywood tape to help.

This dress was sent overnight by RTR as my first choice did not fit properly. This dress is so gorgeous, and the color is very vibrant. I felt like a million bucks, as the fabric is thick and forms wonderfully to the bust and ribcage area. The cut of the hemline creates an elegant and dramatic statement. I was literally complimented at least 20 times over the night by complete strangers as well as wedding guests! No need to wear a strapless bra, and the built-in ribbing adds for a great corset affect. Absolutely loved this dress, and am SO glad I chose this! Highly recommended to anyone wanting to feel incredibly gorgeous and stand out in a classic way!

I'm 5'7" w/o heels and 132. The 6l fit perfectly. I received numerous comments about my look and the dress is a great pop of color. Was perfect for our Mad Men premiere.

This dress is perfect for a pear shape like me! I am typically a 2 on top, and a 6/8 on bottom. The 2R fit like a glove as it's fitted up top and flows out below the waist. I am tall and wore 3" heels- this was just the right length so that the dress wasn't dragging on the floor. The color was fantastic and the pockets were just the icing on the cake! Definitely recommend!

I could have worn the 8, but I'm 3 months pregnant and it was a little tight. The 10 kept falling down on top, but I have a very small chest. The 8 would have been perfect on top. I am 6'0 tall and wore 2" heels and the long was perfect. When I took off my shoes, the dress dragged the floor.

LOVED this dress! This was my first time renting the runway - I was a little hesitant but now I'm hooked. I ordered my regular size, 10, and then a size, 12, up to be safe. Ended up wearing my regular size 10. I'm about 6' flat foot and was probably 6' 3" in my heels so I went with the tall size which was a perfect fit. Dress was absolutely stunning in person and so comfortable to wear all night. Didn't want to take it off. The color and texture were beautiful and I got compliments all night. Would 100% recommend this dress!

I received compliments all night long in this dress. The high-low hem is perfect for a black tie optional or cocktail wedding (dressy but not too formal) and I absolutely adore the shape and detailing. The bust is a little snug and doesn't reveal any cleavage, but that's a good thing—because I never had to pull it up once during a full night of dancing. I'm 5'8 so I rented a regular and a long. Decided to wear the regular because the long was really long and dragged on the ground. The back hem hits slightly above the floor so you might need tall heels. I went for silver ones but nude looked great too.

The dress fit very nicely and was incredibly comfortable. I ended up using bra lift tape instead of a strapless and that worked really well. The only thing I noticed is that the lining at the top of the dress kept showing, which I think is from so much use (this is a very popular dress) but it certainly wouldn't discourage me from wearing it again because it's just so gorgeous. I have a large chest and think it might be loose on the top for anyone with smaller breasts.

Wore this dress to a Black tie December wedding in Miami and it was PERFECT! Dress fit true to size and not only did I feel fabulous in it but I received tons of complements on it. I paired it with nude Christian Louboutin pumps, black Louis Vuitton clutch and subtle silver jewelry and wavy hair to really put emphasis on the gown. Loved the color, fabric texture and feel. Rent the Runway has great customer service and prompt delivery. Loved this rental and cannot wait for my next!

I got this for a black tie wedding in Miami and it was so perfect! I was nervous about the fit because I'm pretty tiny up top but it fit perfectly. It was easy to dance in and I felt fabulous! There was some noticeable wear on the bottom of the gown but you couldn't tell once it was on. I'm so happy with this style and I got so many compliments!

I am tall so i was concerned about the length, but I ordered the regular length and it was perfect with heels. Just grazed the ground in the back. With a larger chest size, dresses can be an issue on top, which is why I had to go with the larger size I had ordered. I would have preferred the dress to be more fitted around my mid section, but it was fine & no one else would have noticed. I loved this color and it really stood out in a sea of black dresses! I loved this dress & was sad to send it back! Will definitely use RTR again!

I rented this dress for a wedding and sadly was not able to attend, hence the sub-par quality photo. However, I would have loved wearing it to the wedding. The length was perfect--I am 5'7' and wore 2.5 inch heals. I loved that it had a bit of a train. I always love pockets so those were a huge plus and overall I was very happy with the dress. It is unique and different and if you want to stand out, I would say this dress would do it!

This dress was fabulous. I'm still in the process of losing my post-baby tummy, and this dress really made me feel amazing. It hid everything I was self conscious about. I was told so many times that I had the best dress of the evening! When you're feeling self conscious about your look post-baby, that's the last thing you expect to hear. I wish I had a picture of the bottom of the dress because it was so unique!

This was my RTR rental and I haven't worn Monique Lhullier. To be on the safe side, I ordered a 10 and a 12 -- although I've never worn a size 12 in my life. I was a little concerned about the waist. I'm like the toothpick who swallowed the lemon, tall and thin with a little gut. While the 10 fit best in the breast, I felt a little stuffed in the bodice. I opted for the 12 and was so glad I did. The pleats looked much better and honestly, there wasn't that much difference in the breast area with the 10 and 12. I'm very tall but wasn't concerned about the length with this style of dress. I wore 2 1/2 inch heels and it was fine. I didn't need the dress to be on the floor for a black-tie optional affair. The dress was extremely comfortable and I didn't need a bra. The pockets certainly came in handy too. Although these dresses have been rented a ton of times both of mine were in great shape. They both arrived wrinkled and I sent them both to the cleaners for steaming since I wasn't sure which one I was going to wear until the following day. I've been to a lot of events in my life and NEVER have I received the amount of compliments from strangers that I did when I wore this dress. What an ego boost!

dress has support built into the bodice so did not need to wear bra which i loved.

So, there are a lot of reviews on this dress already but I wanted to show what the true color of this gown is. As you can see in my picture, it is a bright pink, like Barbie pink. But, it is still an incredibly gorgeous gown and is perfect if you're looking to stand out. I have a large bust (36DDD) and I didn't need a bra because the boning and bra inside the dress was sufficient. A great pick!

Comfortable and perfect length!

Fit me perfectly, fabric is beautifully detailed and color is really rich and fun. The high-low cut of the skirt was also really flattering and allows you to show some leg without making the dress inappropriate at all (I wore it to a formal gala for the dean of my university who was retiring).

True to size. It is long and I ordered regular. Perfect for pear shaped because all is hidden underneath the skirt. Was told it was fun to watch me walk because of how the dress flowed! Enjoy! No regrets here!

This dress is beautiful! The color pops and the unique texture and fit made it a favorite of the night. There is a sticky lining at the top which makes wearing and dancing in a strapless comfortable. I'm between 5'7 and 5'8 and the bottom was touching the ground in my heels, so I would not recommend the Long unless you're really tall. Cons, the dress is clearly a popular choice, and I felt like the dress I received was worn out a little - the lining was frayed and the bottom in the back was weathered.

I really liked this dress. it was very light and it fit so perfect. I didn't spend my night pulling it up which I thought was AWSOME! I liked how it flowed when I walked but when I took my shoes off it made the back drag so I had to hold the tail so I wish it had a hidden button to bring it up so I wouldn't have to either drag it or hold it.

Pros: This dress was AMAZING. I wish I could wear it all the time. I felt very luxurious, fancy, special, and elegant in this dress. I wore it to a resort destination wedding and everyone loved it! The pockets were extremely useful. The dress is kind of heavy with some real structure to it, which was useful at the bust - I didn't have to keep hiking it up. I was worried about the length because I am 5'9" and wore 2-3 inch heels but the length was perfect. Cons: In general, you could tell this dress has been worn before; the bottom looked like it had been dragged on the ground (probably from a shorter person wearing it) and there was a wire poking out at the top (hardly noticeable and not uncomfortable). I highly recommend this dress.
