Slightly tight in the bodice, but it was okay enough to sit down. The arms, as well, were slightly tight on me, but I think on anyone else it would be fine. Overall, a gorgeous dress!

Fits true to size. Did need help zipping the back due to the sleeves not allowing my arms to be super flexible. Gorgeous wine color. So festive. Perfect for Christmas/winter.

This dress left me speechless. I felt like a total princess. I didn't end up wearing this dress because I found one I liked more (crazy). My usual size wasn't available but the 6 was perfect! Great length and it was a little loose in the chest but it was still very flattering. I definitely see myself renting this again when I need a formal gown! :)

The dress was beautiful! Definitely a great choice for a black tie event. Good if you're looking for a 'princess ballgown' look. The sleeves are a bit tight, but for an event where you don't plan to be doing any lifting, it's very comfortable. Something I also didn't notice in other pictures was how poofy the back of the skirt is - it's really pretty but it also makes the dress a big statement. If you're going for a more subtle look, don't go with this dress. However, it was great for my event and I got a lot of compliments about it.

This was the dress I hoped would work out and it did! It has pockets, the sleeves didn't bother me at all and it didn't highlight my stomach which was my main concern! It was also very flattering to my large chest and I didn't have to pull up the dress all night!

I rented this dress for prom and ended up picking another as k thought the arm sleeves were too restrictive. I wanted to be able to put my hands up and "party in the USA" if you will, so I picked another option.

I wanted something a little different for a wedding, so I went with this pretty, floor-length, off the shoulder gown. I read SO many reviews on this dress, so I knew going into it that the sleeves would be a little tight and restricting, and that was accurate! I couldn't move my arms very much, but like I said, I was mentally prepared for beauty rather than function. :-) I am pretty busty (40H) and have chubby arms, and I liked that I was still able to wear a strapless bra with the 20WR and be able to zip it up! Overall, it was a great dress!

I ordered a size up than my actual size. It was too big. But i was able to take accessories to make appear the correct size. Received plenty on compliments on overall look!

The fabric, color, shape are all gorgeous - a real ball gown to make you feel like a princess. And it has pockets! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to wear it because it was WAY too big hanging off my back. The waist fit pretty well, so I’m not sure whether I could have sized down enough to make that work. Another note: the arm cuffs are cute, but definitely restricted my motion. Proceed with caution if you’re planning on a lot of energetic dancing in this dress.

The dress was beautiful but it was extremely hard to zip up and I couldn't raise my arms. The 2nd pic is as high as my arms could go. I took some quick pics bc the dress was so cute but I did not end up wearing this dress to my event.

Material is beautiful, loved the color, and it fit me perfectly. I didn't wear heels with the dress and being 5'5" the long version was too long for me. Based on another review I saw, I decided to tuck the sleeves in too. It looked great with/without sleeves, but I couldn't lift my arms very high if I wore it with the sleeves. Also, I LOVED that this dress has pockets. Only thing I will say is that they're not very deep so don't plan on carrying more than your phone and a slim wallet.

Took the advise of another review and wore a crinoline petticoat underneath. This puffed up the skirt, making it absolutely beautiful. I received compliments all night. I felt like royalty.

Not my personal style to wear out but I rented this for photos with a friend. It looked amazing on her, fit well (she tends to be a zero though so it may run a bit small) and it photographed so beautifully. It was really a stunning dress and would perfect for a formal event. Lovely and striking yet still conservative.

I am 5'9" and was able to wear this dress with 3inch heels. I did have to wear spanx, not because of the fit, but because there was an itchy/irritating spot. Highly recommend this gown.

Wore this to a black tie wedding and it was exactly what I was looking for! There is no stretch in the bust and sleeves at all, so while I could zip up the 2 it was extremely tight. The 4 fit perfectly! While the OTS sleeves are gorgeous, just keep in mind you can't lift your arms past a certain point. It photographs beautifully, isn't too heavy, and I got so many compliments on it.

I performed a concerto in this dress. It was gorgeous! I loved it. I did not have an issue with the over-constricting arms as others did, other than the fact that any outfit with armbands in this style will prevent you from lifting your hands high. The bodice of this dress was very tight, however, and it took two other people to get it zipped! The zipper was difficult on and off, on this (the replacement) and the original. But once in, I felt beautiful and comfortable. In my opinion, it's too fancy to wear to a wedding and would be more fitting for a more formal event. I would definitely order again, though!

Okay, the color of this dress is AMAZING. The fit, the pockets, the length - everything was perfect! I'm 6'1 in my heels and the longer size was the perfect length. I wasn't able to move my arms as much because of the off-the-shoulder straps, but overall the dress was wonderful. I would definitely recommend it - it made me feel like a princess!

The fit was great but since I wore it to prom, all the dancing combined with the heavily layered skirt made that area hold in a LOT of heat. I'm 5'8" so I got the 4L and it ended up being a bit too long, not terribly though. I got a crazy amount of compliments from other students and even random people at dinner lol. I loved this dress very much + would absolutely recommend it.

The fit was perfect on this dress. It was just what my daughter wanted for the occasion and I only spent a fraction of what it would have cost to buy. And, I don't have a formal dress hanging around in a closet for years to come. I love that we got a 2nd dress in a bigger size just in case, but, thankfully we didn't need it. We will definitely be doing this again.

I’m usually somewhere between a 4 and a 6 and the 6 was perfect. I’m 5’9 and the L was the perfect length as well. This dress is a great color and i love the neckline. Definitely a princess dress.

I rented this dress for a black tie work event my boyfriend had and I wanted to look classically beautiful. I rented both this dress and the Kate Spade necklace from RTR. The size 8 fit, but it looked like it was choking my boobs (even when I wore it without a bra) and was restrictive in the arms a bit (probably because of that), so I'm very glad I grabbed the 10 as my backup size (as I'm usually an 8). The 10 is fairly comfortable, but a tad loose in some areas, but nothing noticeable and still flattering. The fabric is WAYYYY darker than the photos on RTR showed. It's more of a burgundy/red, but I liked that. The fabric is also not a satin, that it looks like in most photos, it's more textured and thick/high quality in person. I'm excited to wear this in a few days and will update my review after with a photo from the event! UPDATE REVIEW: The dress was a HUGEEE hit!! I have received so many compliments and stares wearing it. My social media blew up because of this dress. Everyone loved it, it's definitely different and something people aren't use to seeing. I highly recommend renting it for a special occasion. You need some confidence to wear it, since it's a tad old-timey, but once you're all done up you'll love the princess feel.

Like all the other reviewers say, this baby is tight in the sleeves. It's why I hadn't rented it after lusting after it for ages. So when it was time for engagement photos (AKA no dancing required), I knew this was the one! I'm small chested, and even with padded sticky boobs, it was still a little roomy in the chest. Fortunately, it wasn't super noticeable and I went with it anyways. I wore it with 3-inch heels, and it was the perfect length on me (I fall somewhere between 5'6" and 5'7"). I DID add crinoline for added volume, like I do with all ball gowns, and I think it added a bit more glamour. The color is a beautiful deep red, and, like all women, I loved that there were pockets. Happy renting, y'all!

I absolutely loved how my body looked in this dress, it totally faked an hourglass figure that I don't usually have. I didn't have to wear a bra and it provided super sturdy support that created a total push-up effect. Most importantly, it has POCKETS! WOOHOO! The freedom of dresses with pockets is so liberating. The only con is that something about how the fabric comes together at the waist is painful. It is totally bearable if you wear something under it, but I was definitely ready to take it off by the end of the night. Totally recommend!

The gown fit beautifully. I was singing as a soloist for a local performance of Handel's Messiah. Everyone raved over this gown. The color is perfect for a formal holiday occasion. Several people said I looked just like a princess. Gorgeous. Stunning. These dress helped complete a memorable evening. Absolute perfection!

This dress was perfect for my older teen daughter to wear to her friend's December Debutante Ball! The color is a blend of colors which I think is best described as a maroon softened by a shade of purple, a berry color perhaps? Truly, it was gorgeous! The material is sturdy in a good way, nice shine to it as well. Dress is age appropriate for all ages. I marked the dress as "true to size", but it was a close thing for "runs small". I suggest getting a back up size and sizing up. You will definitely need 2-3 inch heels in the regular length if you are 5'4" or similar. We paired the dress with simple pearl earrings (ball shape) and a choker length faux pearl / diamond / cream colored stones from RTR (Jenny Packham). Both the earrings and the necklace were perfect for the dress! Would definitely rent again. Gorgeous dress!

This dress was sent to me by the amazing customer service after my first dress had some issues and I could have not have been more happy. I normally wear 18 but got a 20 so I knew it would fit. It was looser in the top but other than that it was beautiful! I am short so I wish it came in short as I was dragging a bit but I think some tall heels would have fixed that. The color is perfection and the arms cover that armpit fold we all have and hate. Love love love this dress! #princess #Renttherunway

Vanessa (the manager) was absolutely perfect!!! I received my order in the mail on Friday and both dresses didn’t fit; I called RTR to see about getting a quick exchange, but missed the 7:00PM cutoff time to receive another order. It was so important to have a dress, as I was attending my military ball on Saturday. So I made the decision to drive to DC (I live in Charlottesville VA), early Saturday morning in hopes of finding a replacement. I didn’t know Vanassa was the manager when she initially helped me. She was running around the store assisting anyone who need help or had questions and she seemed to really enjoy her job, so I approached her for help. She immediately went to work trying to find me a ball gown close to the one I initially loved, as they didn’t have my dress at that location. I was there for an hour trying on several dresses and she never once got upset or frustrated with me. Vanessa was an absolute delight and it was only when I went to check out and asked for her information so I could rave about her on your site did she reveal that she was the manager. this particular size is a great fit for curvy girls. I am a 38F/40DD with a 32/33 waist. The dress comes equipped with a interior bra strap to secure the boobies. The length is wonderful and I felt so regal for our engagement photo session. The photos were taken in 30 degree weather and the fullness & thickness of the dress made walking around and taking photos without a jacket a non-issue! This is a must rent for an extremely extravagant event.
