The long was just a bit too long, even with heels. I am 5'7'' so I ordered the Long, I'd suggest regular unless you are 5'9" and up. Ordered a size bigger than normal and it was perfect.

The dress was a little too long for my 5’ 6”, but it was beautiful and elegant and perfect for an evening wedding. I also wore a 10 because there was no 8 available at the time, but I’d say it was true to size and a little lose on me, but not at all noticeable. I received a lot of compliments on the dress. Also, the dress is heavy, just as a warning.

The dress was perfect for a gala event. The colors are beautiful. It is long and definitely you have to use high heels. You also have to be careful not to entangle the bottom with the heels. I loved it

This one might be one of my all time favorite RTR dresses! I got more compliments than I can count on this one and it was stunning. Fits true to size. I felt amazing in it and it was so comfortable. The detail on this dress is amazing. I would rent this again!

This dress fit me so well! I am 5'5 and it was just the right length with 4 inch heels. The colors were gorgeous and I received quite a few compliments on it. I would recommend this dress for any formal event.

The material is gorgeous; I didn't mind that it was a bit heavy. Great for traveling; not prone to wrinkles. My back-up size was a 10L, which was considerably longer -- it would have been too long, even with 3" heels. The 8L was perfect in length and fit well throughout the bodice, which is quite fitted. The dress is otherwise quite forgiving/generous through the hips/thighs without being bulky. I really loved wearing this dress!

I could have sized down but at this size I was very comfortable, could breath, sit and eat comfortably. The overlay is stunning and has great movement. Would gladly rent again.

Great fit. I loved the length! I'm 5'10" so I'm pretty tall and the length on this dress was amazing! I don't think I've ever lucked out this well when I've ordered a "long" length dress. I few things that were SUPER accurate from other reviews of this dress: (1) the lace catches EVERYTHING! I kept getting hooked to the chair, drawer knobs/handles, etc. (2) Make sure you have someone to help you zip up the dress. With such a heavy dress, it needs a heavier zipper. I couldn't get it zipped up before the event and thought for sure I was going to have to sleep in it or cut it off when I got home. I almost had a panic attack trying to get the zipper down. Not Good! (3) As I mentioned earlier, it's a heavy dress but not so heavy that you feel weighed down the whole time. You just become very much aware you have it on. Some dresses fell like a 2nd skin, this one does not (lol). I would have definitely given it 5 stars if not what I mentioned above.

I tried on this dress and loved it but it was a bit long. I am 5'6 and it was dragging on the floor when I put it on so it would be perfect fit for someone taller than me or about my size with tall platform heels. Any shorter and you will regret it. It was also tight in the chest but I'm busty with 38D cup. But Overall it is a very gorgeous dress. Two layers with the outside beautiful brocade. A big heavier dress but definitely a going somewhere fancy like a wedding or opera dress.

The fit was a little snug so I went a size up. Pros: fabulous design and comfortable. Cons: my heel kept getting caught (the lace has big holes) and I had to do some balancing maneuvers on the dance floor to unhook my heel! This happened many times. Also the zipper was hard to zip up. Other than that it was a fun and beautiful dress to wear! I got several compliments.

Rtr dropped the ball on shipping and i chose this from the store about 2 hours before my formal event. It's comfortable as far as gowns go and i got a lot of compliments

I wore this for an engagement party in the city. Gorgeous dress in person. It did run long and I had to hold it up a little while walking, but totally worth it!

The dress fit very well and I recieved many compliments for it. Although it feels heavy in the bag its very confortable to wear and i did not feel weighed down. I'm 5'5 and the length was almost perfect with 4 inch heels. That being said my heels would get caught in the lace when dancing so I did hold it up frequently. I would say if you are 5'6+ with 4 inch heels you probably wouldn't have to worry about getting snagged.

This was my back up dress that was sent and I was bummed when I found out my original dress wasn't going to be able to be sent. The 2 dresses had a bit of a different style. This dress was beautiful in person and like other reviews was a bit heavy, which I didn't mind in Nov, and long. I ended up wearing the 14L, the 12L was just a tad too tight at top. The length was also slightly too long with heels but made it work by picking it up when I walked, although a few times my heel (and the chair) did get stuck on the lace overlay.

First time renter!! #myrtr experience for the first time around was great. The Monique Lhuillier dress was great for an evening rustic wedding. I will say the dress was a little heavy with the lace overlay, but it looked amazing. It does run true to size and extremely fitting in the top. If you don't know your formal dress size then go a size bigger. In photos the dress can make you look larger than you are, but it looks amazing in group pics. All and all great experience and beautiful dress

This dress is absolutely beautiful and I received tons of compliments. My only complaint was the length. I am 5'2" and it was about 6 inches too long (with no shoes). I ended up wearing 3 inch heels and just holding it up when I walked or danced. The dress was also a lot heavier than I expected but it didn't bother me too much since I wore it to an outdoor wedding in the fall.

Shipped overnight after my first choice was a dud and other choices were unavailable. Gorgeous gown but too long for me even after wearing the highest heels that I could find. The lace itself makes the gown stunning but it is also the caused of my issue as my skinny heels often got stucked on the lace spaces especially when I was about to stand and walk, that I had to untangled it so as not to trip over. Forget about going up/down stairs unless you are holding the skirt as high up as you can thereby losing the dramatic effect. Other than that , it fits well and was comfortable with all the dancing I did. If it was shorter it would have been perfect!

I didn't rend up wearing this, and sent it back for another dress that fit the bill. I originally rented this for a wedding (oct in Maine) and figured the colors would be a fit. The other reviews seemed good .. it was so so heavy!! I don't understand how no one else reviewed that piece. I thought it was going to be one piece of flowy fabric , but instead there was a tan under piece and then a "lace" on top. Felt more like dyed rope. The lace ran very long at the end - I had R length and I'm 5'9 and it was an inch on the ground around my feet. So heads up no matter what, you'll need heels. I didn't think it was that flattering to begin with, though I've worn similar styled gowns in the past that have looked good. Hope that helps your search!

This dress is very pretty but it was much fancier than I expected and ultimately I didn't wear it because it was too much for the event I was going to. It also runs small, the 6 did fit me but it wasn't super comfortable. I only had it on very briefly but the lace did get stuck on a few things (drawer and door knobs) while I walked around in it.

Snug across the chest, but ok fit. Wish the lace accents actually covered the seem at the waist, a bit awkward looking for such a great design.

Absolutely gorgeous dress but If you are on the shorter size, this dress will not work. At 5'3, there was over a foot of additional length.

Fit beautifully and very appropriate for a formal wedding. I was complimented several times and it was a black tie event. However I think it fits small because I normally wear 12 and this was 14. However the other dress I ordered was 12 and fit fine.

Love the details, quality in materiel and the whole dress. It was just tight across the chest and back area.

Beautiful dress, lace detailing is so pretty in person. Wore it for a formal event on New Years Day and received many compliments and I loved the colors for a winter event. Would perhaps be too heavy for an event in the middle of the summer, but otherwise could work essentially year round. Women of different body shapes will likely feel great in this dress - extremely flattering and so comfortable! Inside lining is super soft. However, it is very long. I am almost 5'9" and even with heels on it was still at the ground. If you are petite and/or not planning on wearing sky high heels, the length may not work.

As others have said, the photos don't do it justice. Amazing lace overlaid on a nude stain dress. Pretty cut at top - flattering on the arms because cuts in more than sleeveless but not so far that you can't wear your usual bra. Really a showstopper of a dress. BUT - as others have also said, it is tight at the top. The dress I ended up wearing was a 4, and this one was tight in size 6. It zipped up fine, but the lace stretched oddly on my chest. Too bad - I would have loved to wear it. It you have an athletic or pear shape, it would be great. Also, it is super long. I had on 3 inch block heels and had to lift to walk. A stiletto heel could be disastrous.

I rented two dresses for a family wedding and they were both beautiful and fit very well. I wish I could have worn them both, it was so hard to choose! The reason I went with the other on was because this one was a bit too long. It's hard to tell from the photos but this is a nude dress with a lace overlay. It's relatively heavy so I wouldn't wear it for a summer event, but it would have been perfect for a winter wedding!

This dress fit true to size for me. I got tons of compliments. I was comfortable all night. The only thing to watch out for is getting your heels stuck in the large holes of the lace. Occasionally, when I would go from sitting to standing, I would end up with a heel through one of the large holes in the lace pattern (didn't cause any damage because the lace overlay is very sturdy). But it was kind of parring, and I almost tripped a few times. Maybe wear a wedge?

I loved this dress. For taller people, it is long enough. This is the one con-the lace outerlay was very long, and with the larger scale holes, your feet and other people's feet easily get caught in it. I think if it was hemmed 1-2'', closer to the lining, it wouldn't be a problem at all.

This dress is stunning and unique, but as someone who wears 16W/18 it just wasn't flattering, even though the 16W fit well and felt good.

Beautiful detail, fits well, just super heavy for summer. Would only be able to wear this in a lot of A.C.
