Love this dress but you need to size up.

Loved the sheer illusion neckline. The dress was pretty long on me (I'm 5' 1") but that was fine, since I was going for that look. It's a sexy dress without being too revealing, which made it perfect for a formal holiday event.

Chose this dress after the first dress I chose was too small. If you ever order a Monique Lhuillier dress, keep in mind that her sizes run small. Definitely go up a size from the size you usually wear. Which is why this Monique Lhuillier dress fit because it was a size up from the size 6 that I now am. Pros: color and for the most part covered the area I was most worried about, which was my midsection. Not too many pros but that may be because this was the only dress that worked with my budget and size when I exchanged the original dress I ordered at their Rent the Runway store in Topanga, CA. Cons: a little difficult when using the restroom. You either had to take the whole dress off or hope the dress can be pulled up over your hips. Another con is that on the right hand side of the dress, on the chest area, the wiring in the dress poked out a bit and kept poking my chest. I now have a red mark on the top of my right breast. I don't think the dresses normally do this since the left side was completely fine and the wire was still secured into the fabric. I received a couple compliments but I honestly did not feel that amazing in this dress but I feel that that was due to the fact that it was a last minute choice and has more to do with personal reasons. The dress is very pretty just not for my body type.

The 0 fit fine. I would of liked it to have been more form fitting. The fabric does not stretch so I wouldn't wear it out if you plan on dancing. It's also not as see through as it is on the model.

The fit was beautiful, hugged the hips just right and the sheer side panels hit at the perfect curve of the body. The problems comfort wise was that the boning rubbed my chest and stomach to where I had scrapes. And I have large shoulders so the straps were semi tight. But the dress was beautiful, I received so many compliments. Bonus was, even with the sheer panels on the sides, I could wear a bra and that makes me happy! I did rent a different dress and was surprised when this one showed up, because I didn't receive the email in time to request another dress when the one I rented wasn't available. But their selection ended up really working for me.

This would be great for a woman with slim hips and/or no booty, but it otherwise is really tight around the thighs (the top fit nicely with no bra). I am usually a 2 or 4 and I was sucked into the 4 which was uncomfortable to sit and dance in. As you'll see from the photo, the cutouts on the sides are not nearly as prominent as the RTR photo but the top is gorgeous. Unfortunately not my favorite.

This ML Monique Lhuillier Red Romantic Illusion dress in size 6 is sleeveless and has a sheer boat neckline with a fitted skirt and side sheer cut-outs with a back zipper with a hook-eye closure. This dress would look great for someone who is thin and tall.

I lusted after this dress for a while, but when it finally arrived I was disappointed. I am a true size 4 and this dress was extremely small! I had to take the entire thing off to go to the bathroom. It's also VERY long! I ended up pinning the bottom up a few inches, as it originally came mid-calf (uum, no thanks).

this dress has a snug fit. but is still quite comfortable to move & dance in. a little bit longer than I would usually want (I'm 5'9" and it fell below my knees-so if you're short may be way too long). dress is elegant and classy.

After listening to ALL of the reviews I decided to order a size 8. I typically am a small 6 maybeeee a 4. However the dress was not nearly as small as people made it out to be and I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the 6. The 8 is way too large. Otherwise it’s a beautiful dress and really high quality.

Unfortunately, it was just too small in the hip area to wear, but the dress itself was beautiful and looks much better in person than in the thumbnail. For anyone with curves, I'd recommend going up a size or steering clear as there is very little give in the slip underneath.

Goegeous dress but wasn't the best fit for my hourglass figure. I'm usually a size 8 but had to wear the 10. On the size 8 dress, the bottom half was too tight and the fabric doesn't stretch at all. With the size 10 dress, the bottom was perfect but the top was loose. Despite the bad fit, the dress still looked great. And I didn't need a bra. I might consider wearing this dress again.

It's a lovely dress, but the trade-off here is that the material is stiff, not stretchy which is very slimming on those who can wear it, but it fits fewer women that way. I ended up having to go with my back-up style because this dress was too tight around my hips and simultaneously too loose at the top- a different size would not have helped. I do have wide hips proportionally compared to most women though- for someone with more balanced proportions I imagine this dress would fit great.

Overall I really like this dress and it looked good in the wedding photos. I went with the size 2 and the dress was very snug with no stretch, to the point that I had to take off the dress to use the restroom as there was no way I could pull it up over my hips. The size 4 that I ordered for the backup was far too large. The dress is also a little on the longer side, so it may not be the best choice for shorter women. The material was not itchy and the cut-outs are not overly noticeable in person.

I loved this dress and the romantic deep red. It was a standout dress for me as the bride at my rehearsal dinner. Only thing I didn't love, is that the hips were very tight. If the top-half of the dress is a size 6, it's like the bottom half is designed as a size 5. Big enough for my hips to fit in, but had my hips been even slightly larger, I would have had to send the dress back. It was so tight, I couldn't pull my dress up to use the bathroom. Every time I went, I had to unzip the entire dress. And this is coming from someone who is usually a size 6 and I lost several pounds ahead of my wedding and the rest of my clothes are fitting a bit looser on me now, so I was surprised about how tight the bottom half of the dress was. In the end, I looked great, I was still able to walk and sit comfortably in the dress, but I'd hesitate to rent it for anything that involved dancing. Overall, great dress. Love the textured pattern on the fabric and the way I looked.

This was sent to me last minute because my original dress was unavailable. It's much prettier in person - something I would've never rented based solely off the picture online. I usually would wear a 6 or 8 and the 8 was still extremely tight in the hip/butt area but baggy up top.

PROS - Placed the order and dresses arrived within 24 hours. Dress is lovely! CONS - Dress was cut much smaller than I expected. I am a true 12, but in abundance of caution rented a 14 & 16 based on posted reviews. I could not fit the 14, and the 16 was extremely tight and uncomfortable. If you have a curvy figure (which I do) this dress is not for you! It has no "give" in the hips/tight area. The lace is very stiff so I would recommend for an event where you might be doing a lot of moving around or dancing.

I loved this dress in theory. I loved the neckline and the view from the back -- just beautiful. However, the midsection was just gappy and too boxy to be elegant. If you have a proper waist, it will feel like a loose fishing net is tickling you. There is no "hug" to the fabric, so it just looks sloppy on an otherwise sophisticated silhouette, I did not opt to wear it and returned it the same day.

Beautiful dress and color. Unfortunately, I was not able to wear this dress, it was too narrow on the hip area. I was able to zip up the dress (fit nicely on the waist area), but I could not sit down since it was too tight on the bottom. I've worn other dresses from RTR with a similar material (no stretch) in a size 4 without any problem. If you have wide hips DO NOT rent this dress!

This was a dress that was sent to me as a backup when the dress I picked out wasn't available. I normally wear a 4 or 2 dress and I couldn't even zip the 4. It is a very heavy dress, similar feel to a corsette. Very long. I'm 5.5 and it was mid calf.

I rented two different ML dresses in the same size. The other dress fit true to size but This particular dress was very tight across my hips making it uncomfortable to wear. Plus it bothers me that I could not get the lace on top to actually lie flat on the dress. It flopped forward and just looked off. Another unlimited fail, seem to have more of these than actual wearable rentals.

The dress looks. Beautiful on the model, but the slip part underneath the lace runs VERY small. Wouldn't recommend for someone that's a little hippy.
