Rented dress for a 1960's theme dinner dance. Wanted to channel the elegance and sophistication of the early 1960's, and this dress was spot-on. It was beautifully made and fit like a glove (without being ridiculously movement constricting). Fabric (lining plus lace overlay) was heavy so dress may not work for warm weather/venue. I felt like a million dollars and received a ton of compliments.

I wore the 18W because although the 16W fit better, the larger size allowed me to sit down semi-comfortably since there is no stretch to this dress. The top of the dress billowed because I am smaller on top but overall, I was pleased with it.

It fit me like a glove. It was sexy, but not too much. This was a replacement dress, & it was amazing!!

Loved this dress for a wedding rehearsal dinner! Sturdy fabric and cut fits and holds curves in all the right ways. I would have been slightly more comfortable in one size up.

This was a well made, pretty dress for the holidays. It appears more red in person than in some of the pics.

This dress did not originally jump Out at me but I LOVED it. I am not as small as I would like. I was able to wear normal under garments and still feel sexy and beautiful. I wore this to my work Christmas party. The length was perfect as I didn't want to be to sexy. The red and black was so pretty for Christmas.

Eye catching but not overly flashy. Wore for a charity gala event. Length was fantastic on my 6ft tall frame. As other reviewers note, the fabric has no stretch. Definitely recommend a size up as the back up. I could have worn the 6 or the 8. 8 was just a bit too big on top.

I was looking for a red dress to match my husband for Mens day at church. The fabric is very heavy, but comfortable and well made. I'm in the process of losing weight and have been buying 16's, but had to get an 18 in this. It was a little large in the midsection, so I Belted it and wore a shawl around my shoulders. Very beautiful dress!

Very tight lace-snug but looked amazing

Wore this for a nonprofit gala. The color was red but not too bright which I liked. The floral design was beautiful and the silhouette was flattering. The dress fit great although when sitting, my movement was a little restricted but not uncomfortable in any way. It is a good dress for winter cause the lining is a little thick. This was in February in the Midwest, and it was warm enough. I could dance in it, and I got several compliments. I was very happy with this dress.

This dress was my third choice, after my first two choices didn't fit. I'm 5'3" 170 pounds, and usually wear a 14. I wore it to my husband's office Christmas party at a swanky resort. My RTR stylist chose it for me, and I was surprised at how much I liked it! The lace overlay was very intricate, and quite lovely. The red is more of a burgundy, and was perfect for Christmas. The dress is heavy, so it smoothed over all my problem areas (like my stomach) quite well. I didn't even have to wear Spanx! It was comfortable to wear all night, I could eat and dance with no restriction. I would highly recommend this dress.

Great quality and great fit! The only issue is that since I'm short, it hit below the knee, but it didn't bother me

This dress is a heavy material but it is beautiful. The detail in the lace is so beautiful. It was hard sending this dress back. Hard to sit in but will definitely make you sit up straight!

I wore this dress for a December wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Elegant and beautiful - so many compliments. I ordered a 2 and a 4 and ended up wearing the 4 which fit perfectly. Because it's a fitted dress with no give, be sure to size up. No special undergarments required which was nice.

This dress was a last minute decision and I am so glad I found it. It is elegant and sophisticated. The fabric is heavy and the lace is gorgeous. It fits perfectly. I am more bottom heavy and always have issues finding dresses that fit properly. Perfect for a fall wedding.

Dress was form fitting.

This dress fit beautifully, and with the substantial, high quality material of the lining and overlay, it gave me a really smooth shape. The center cut out is very subtle. I wore the 6, which was just a bit roomy up top and comfortable around the waist, even after dinner; but the 4 was too tight in the bottom half to sit down. The 4 fit and looked great - almost as if I was wearing spanx - but a girl's got to sit at some point. Very happy, and as usual, the comments came rolling in as soon as I got to the party. Highly recommended dress!

I initially requested this dress as a backup for a failed prior RTR outfit. It was going to be for a squadron holiday party, but I went with something else for the party. However, the day after the party was a ceremony and this dress was the perfect option for that event. It fits so well! I received tons of compliments and I felt really chic and beautiful in this dress. I am pretty busty (32DDD), so I was worried that it would be too snug in that area--it wasn't. I ordered an 8, and it fits true to size. I must warn you though, sitting and taking the stairs may be a bit of a challenge because the dress doesn't have a lot of give. It is made of pretty heavy material, so it was sufficient for me to wear without a jacket. I will definitely rent this dress again.

True to size. Looks way better on than on the hanger. Also the photo on the model looks more black, but in real life the sheer lace on the neckline and waist is a dark red. The material is very thick which is great for hiding lumps and bumps, but had zero stretch, so sitting is a bit difficult.

I rented this dress for a fall wedding in Cape Cod with a subtle Halloween theme. The red with the black lace overlay was perfect to give that gothic feel while balancing a glamorous and sophisticated look. The dress came new with its original tags still on it! I ended up wearing the size 6 because the hips were a bit tight and I wanted to sit comfortably for the wedding and be able to dance easily at the reception. The lace was a thicker lace and the dress had plenty of structure I didn't have to wear any shapewear under it even though it was a very fitted dress. My only complaint was that the top seemed like it was designed for someone with a long torso as there a shear part of the lace across the midriff but it wasn't really visible on my length of torso. Overall it's a fantastically beautiful dress and I got tons of compliments all day and night on it!

So glad I went a size up. Perfect fit with the size 10.

This dress is detailed and gives a beautiful overall look but it is very heavy fabric with very little give. It was about 3" below my knee (5'2") and so fitted at the knees that I could barely get up and down stairs.

My usual RTR size (8) was so snug in the hips so I wore the 10, which was a little frumpy on me. The fabric is very thick--this makes it forgiving in trouble areas, but the bulk is less than slimming. It is also long on my 5'3" frame. I would not rent again.

This is a beautiful dress and you could tell immediately upon taking it out of the bag that it is high quality material. The dress fit true to size but be forewarned, there is not a lot of stretch to it. I was able to sit but it was a bit stiff. If you have big hips like I do, I would get the backup one size larger to be sure you can move comftably. I am 5'6", 220 pear shaped and the 16 hit below my knees. I ended up wearing my other style for the occasion but this was a beautiful option too!

I rented this from the RTR store in Chicago. Very classy dress. The length comes right to the knee. Perfect for a winter wedding. Conservative enough to wear in church. The color was more maroon as opposed to the black/red contrast shown in the photo. Warning for ladies with wide hips--this dress does not have any give. I was not able to pull the skirt up to go to the bathroom--dress had to be taken off from above.

I wore this dress to a red & black themed party, and it was a big hit. Covers any body imperfections you have, modest enough to wear around the grandparents but still elegant and classy. This dress is a heavy no stretch material, so movement of any kind is a little tricky. I wore it for 8 hours and loved it, but i wouldn't recommend it for dancing.

I liked this dress...wouldn't have bought it if I was shopping, but it was a nice look for a fancy Valentine's Day date. I had to wear black tights because it was cold out, but the dress itself was very thick and warm. It fell at somewhat of an unflattering length below my knee though, and I'm 5'6" so this isn't usually an issue.

This was actually my backup dress! It was flattering and sophisticated. Hit right at the knee for me, which made it perfect for a work event. However, would wear to a wedding or other event in the future!

This dress hit a little below my knees (I'm 5'9"). Although the stock image shows a sheer area around the waist, the lace is so thick and dark it doesn't really look sheer at all. I felt very elegant in this dress but I could not lift my arms at all! It was also a very thick/heavy material without a lot of give, so it was pretty impossible to bend over or sit down. That being said I felt gorgeous and everyone loved the dress! I did not need to wear a bra with it, but I don't think bra straps would even really show through the lace at top.

This dress fit me vey well. I have a pretty average body shape . I had slightly extra late room in the hips and butt but , however I'm not big in that area. I think because the fabric doesn't stretch if you are very large in the bust or hips size up Or rent something with more stretch. The material is thick and well lined and well tailored. I wore a sticky bra underneath. I felt great in the dress. It was comfortable and the lace detail plus the contrast of the red and sheer at the top and middle made the dress stand out. It was clingy and had a lot of coverage but I still felt sexy in it. The dress hit me mid calf And I'm 5'3". Over all a beautiful dress.

This is a beautifully crafted dress that's great for any formal occasion. I was afraid it was going to be too revealing in the middle area, or that my bra straps were going to show through the mesh material but it was quite the opposite. This dress is very conservative, doesn't show any skin as the mesh areas are a lot darker than they seem in the picture and length is almost past the knees. The fabric is thick and very heavy so I probably wouldn't recommend this for an outdoor summer event, but overall it's nice and form-fitting and like I said before, beautifully detailed. I wore my this to a fall wedding and although it wasn't bad, I wouldn't rent it again simply because for my age I'd rather have something that shows a little more skin but I would definitely recommend it for someone who prefers a more conservative style.

I made my RTR requests weeks before my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Despite not getting my first dress choice or backup choice, and none of the stylist's choices fitting at all, this Monique Lhullier fit the bill in a clutch. I ordered it not so much for the look but because I know Lhullier is one of the designers that fit me pretty well without tailoring and it matched the red shoes/accessories I brought with me on the trip. The size 6 was well fitted to my upper body (32DDD bust -- although you guys don't seem to have that bust size as a choice-- 28 waist) but moderately tight on my 38 1/2" hips. Although my family LOVED the dress, I would have felt more "me" in any of the other dresses I tried to choose-- but hey, on this day the real stars were my Aunt and Uncle! :-)
