I wore this to my senior prom. I received countless compliments on how unique and beautiful it was. One of the mothers of the people I was taking photos with came up to my mother and said that if she could, she would snag this dress off my back right then and there:) She said she'd never seen a more elegant dress and would then be renting it asap once we told her about RTR. I have sworn by ML countless times but I think this is my new favorite. It photographs amazingly and is more understated purple that glimmers. The dress was very long on me, despite wearing petite (I'm 5'4 and wearing 4 inch heels in the pics and it was still a bit long). I found that the zipper was quite rugged but the bodice was very sturdy because of it. There is a built in clasp that acts like that of a bra clasp that keeps you locked in. The pockets were the best detail. In my mind this dress put all others to shame!

This dress was beautiful and so different. It fit great and had pockets. Worn for sweet 16.

The dress does need to be steamed when it comes. The long was almost too long and that is saying something for me at 5'9". The petticoat really should be shortened by a foot or so as my heels kept getting tangled in it all night. If I had paid attention, I would have temporarily shortened it with tape. The dress is more purple than blue as the photo shows. It truly makes a statement!

I have never felt as beautiful as I did in this dress!! It is made of amazing thick fabric with plenty of oomph underneath!! The color is so much richer in person; I would call a bluish lilac. On the plus side this dress has an amazing built-in bra and was extremely comfortable. Despite a full night of dancing, I did not have to adjust this dress once! And, of course, it has pockets!!! The only negatives are that the dress is quite long (I stepped on the tulle underneath multiple times) and that my particular dress had part of the bodice dig into my side, so I had to place a patch of moleskin there to prevent that. Overall, though, I absolutely loved wearing this gown and would definitely recommend it! If you can commit to picking it up a bit when you walk, you are in for a full night of compliments and feeling royal!!!

I loved this dress! It was so beautiful & so comfortable. As others said, the color is gorgeous & more vivid than the pictures on the website make it seem. The fit on my torso was great & the built in bra was all that was needed (I did try a strapless at first but it showed in back). I loved having a ball gown style that allowed me to breathe & be comfortable all night plus the pockets were awesome. The 6R was too long for my 5'4" height even with 3-4" heels but a few small stitches at the hem took care of that. You will also need to steam the skirt before wearing.

I wore this to a deb ball, and felt lovely and elegant all evening. Though the interior bodice was quite supportive, I chose to wear a bra for extra lift. The three-layered underskirt twirls beautifully! My size was only available in a L, so I lightly basted a 3" hem and wore the dress with perfect-for-dancing 2" heels. The full skirt begins right at the waist, giving plenty of room to savor a white tie supper. The dress runs true to size; it is perfection for us hourglass girls. The color works well for anyone who wears "cool toned" shades. Truly, I did not want to mail the dress back!

I received this dress as a backup because my original dress was unable to be delivered after changing the dress size 3 times! I had this dress in my favorites list and luckily it was available. I wore the 2R and it fit perfectly, but it does run large and is VERY long. I would recommend sizing down at least 1 size, and you need to choose your size based on your measurements from the waist up because the skirt and lining is full. I am 5'71/2" and with 2 inch heals it was still too long but manageable. The built in bra is amazing, no other under garments needed and the dress stays in place, you won't be pulling it up. The color (it is more lilac than in the picture) and the fabric is perfect for summer. I wore it to a black tie wedding and received compliments all night!! The dress is simply stunning!!!

This was a backup dress as the original was unavailable to ship. As sad as I was to not be able to wear the one I anticipated, this gown was absolutely stunning. I received several compliments at the Gala and felt like a star. I have a thicker rib cage so the 4R was a little snug around that area, but it made me feel more secure that the gown wouldn't slip down. Be careful going up and down stairs as the tulle underneath may catch on your high heels. Overall, I have no regrets of getting this as a backup.

I originally rented the Monique Lhullier Silver Mikado gown in 8L and 10L. However, RTR let me know five days before my event that the gowns had been damaged and couldn't be sent to me. I was heartbroken and upset about finding a replacement with such short notice, but RTR sent me both this dress in 8L and a different dress in 8L and 10L to ensure that I would have a size and style that worked. This dress was everything I could've dreamed of! I wore it to my college's Senior Ball in May, and even though it was had multiple heavy layers of tulle+fabric, the print kept it springlike. It is a bit more lavender than the pictures portray. The 8L zipped after a bit of a struggle (34DDD+ribcage), but fit comfortably all night and didn't slip down at all. The extra length was appreciated (5'10" + 4" heels = 6'2") but I couldn't take off my shoes for fear of people stepping on the hem. And the pockets were a huge plus! Overall I received SO many compliments and I would absolutely recommend this dress and RTR in general.

I wore this for a staged wedding photo shoot for my best friend, event planner The Party Goddess. I was the "older bride" in the scene but also got pulled into photos as the bridesmaid. I wore the dress for two hours after the photo shoot. It felt so good and looked amazing! I hope that I get to rent it again!!!!

Great dress, loved the pockets. A little tight in the bust but that is usually the case for me. Built in bra was very supportive. Beautiful dress, received many compliments. This was my backup dress and I am so glad I chose it!

I rented this dress for the Governor's Inaugural Ball, it was amazing. I got the 12 and 14 and wore the 12. I could have worn either, but I liked the tightness around the bodice with the 12. I received non-stop compliments from strangers all night. The gown is absolutely stunning on and really stood out in a sea of black dresses. I have a little extra around my stomach and was worried about the fit - it was fabulous. I looked so elegant and felt beautiful. I was able to wear super comfortable black heels because you can't see them at all. This dress is true to size and if you are contemplating renting it - go for it, you won't be disappointed. There is a built in bra and don't forget the best part - pockets!! I felt like a movie star in this dress.

I feel this dress allowed me to stand out among party attendees because it is not just "fancy". Its simple elegance can make you look "a notch" above the average party goers. I received lots of good feedbacks from other guests across all age groups. It looks good in bright as well as dark lightings.

I absolutely loved this dress. The color was a bit darker and more vibrant than the picture but it definitely stood out among a sea of dresses. I got many compliments and felt like a princess the whole night. Keep in mind that it is very long. I had to pick it up while walking and dancing. I wore the dress to the USMC ball and felt elegant and regal the entire time. I normally wear a size 6 but I am full busted so I needed to go the next size up. The dress comes equipped with a built in adjustable bra and pockets on the skirt. I paired it with a silver shoe and clutch. 10/10 would DEFINITELY wear again!

I felt like a princess the whole night, and had endless compliments. I ordered both sizes 10 and 12. The 10 felt too tight so I thought I would need to size up to the 12, but after some tricky maneuvering, the 10 ended up being perfect. The bodice is just tight and you may need someone to help you get it fastened. The hidden pockets were a special treat so I could carry around my cell phone to take photos all night.

The dress fit awesome! It was so comfortable and was a great color. The only thing I would warn about is it came very wrinkly and I had to wear it straight out of the mail and so I didn't have time to finish steaming it all the way.

The dress is beautiful, definitely more on the purple end than blue. I rented a size 4R and 6R, I went with the 4. The 6 was just way to big, the 4 was a bit snug in the chest, I'm a 34DD, but fit everywhere else very nicely. I received a bunch of compliments on the dress!

I regularly wear an 8 or a 10 on top, but I was worried this may run small so I ordered a 10R and a 12R. The 10R fit perfectly, just right on top with no pinching or pulling. The dress is long, but I don't particularly like wearing heels, so I wore kitten heels that are probably 1.5 inches and that worked just fine. The color is gorgeous and the slight sweetheart top was very flattering. I received compliments from strangers throughout the night and couldn't have been more pleased with this dress!

PROS - The gown has a built in bra that you can adjust. - The color of the gown is just perfect. It was neither bright nor dark. - The length of the gown was too long for me, since I'm only 5'4", so I wore 6-inch heels. CONS - The gown fit me well from waist down, except for the top part. I already maximized the options for the built in bra, but it was still a little bit loose. - Front bottom part of the gown had a couple of red tapes (I'm assuming the hem was broken by a former renter) when it arrived. Good thing we checked the night before, or else the front bottom part would have showed. What I didn't like about it is that it wasn't fixed.

Perfect fit, super comfortable and stunning!!! I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

This dress has an interior bra and is fully lined, giving it plenty of support even with a large chest. The dress has tulle under the skirt to ensure that the skirt has fullness, and there are pockets on both sides that are invisible, yet very handy. I am 5'7" tall and love heels so I ordered the long instead of the regular, which was perfect. With Badgley Mischka 4 1/2" platform heels, the 8L dress met the floor at exactly the right spot. As far as looks of the dress went - I received compliments all night, and nearly 2 weeks later am still receiving compliments on my dress. Many guests I knew at the event reported that they were asked who I was by those who didn't know me at this event because the dress made me stand out amongst the crowd. I would definitely recommend this dress to anyone wanting to make a statement. However, you will need a steamer or time to get it to the cleaner to have it steamed because shipping causes quite a bit of wrinkling in the skirt that needs tending to.

It fit great and I got so many compliments!!! The only downfall is that when I received it, it was soooo wrinkled! Took quite a bit of time to steam it. Other than that I LOVED IT!!!!

Top feels like a corsette. I ordered the long and you definitely need 3-4 inch heels to make sure it doesn't drag on the ground (for reference I'm 5'6).

I normally where a 6 but figured it would be cut small at the top so I ordered an 8R and 10R. I ended up wearing the 8 however it was super long. I'm only 5'3, I wore 4in heels and still had to use hemming tape. Gorgeous dress though and I'm so glad I Rented the Runway!

Stand out in a crowd with this stunner. Smitten for pockets. The length in a regular is still very long I had on 4" heels and I'm 5'8". The Oscar de la renta asymmetrical earrings were perfect. The dress is an ombre of purple but the blue 2 tone earrings were a perfect mate.

Gorgeous black-tie gown! One thing to note is that the color is more vibrant in person. Running true to size, we recommend sizing up for backup. There is no stretch to the fabric. Built in bodice allows for you to go bra-less. There is comfortable room in the bust area. This style is fitted in the natural waist and loose throughout the hip area. Pair it with statement earrings and silver or nude heels for your next formal event!

Fits beautifully but a bit difficult to walk in because there is a lot of tulle. I have a small chest but had no issues with the dress falling down. It is a gorgeous, vibrant color as well!

Fit perfect except too long. If it wasnt snowing/slushy i wouldve worn it anyway but thought it would risk ruining the dress. I ordered a back up lace dress but reallyyyy loved this.

This dress is much richer in color than the stock photos. So refer to the review photos. It has pockets which is great and a built in bra with a clasp for added support. The zipper is hard to get up due to the folded fabric at the top, have someone on hand to assist. I am 5,9 and wore flats (which I NEVER do) but I wanted the floor length ball gown effect. Overall a great pick for a Cotillion Ball.

I rented this dress for my junior prom. It was my first time using RTR and was so impressed by everything. It was hard to tell exactly what color the dress was but it was closer to a purple than a blue. The pockets were amazing! My mom had to pin up the tulle because some of it was showing from beneath the the bottom of the dress. I was worried about it being strapless but it stayed put even while I was dancing. It made my night so amazing!

The dress is way prettier in person than in the photo. It ran long for me even with heels, so be careful! Great flow - had pockets! - beautiful color and I got non stop compliments. Tight for my bust size (32FF) but any bigger and I would have had to pick it up all night.

The dress fit rather tightly. I own another Monique Lhuillier dress in size 6 and it fits me slightly big. This dress was very tight on me. Also, the length is very long! I am 5'4" and wore 4" heels and the dress still was too long. I ended up hemming it 4 inches and it was ok.

Absolutely loved wearing this dress! It fit my torso perfectly and held everything in place and up the entire night. Love the hidden pockets! No one could tell I had my lipstick and cell phone on me all night. Got a TON of compliments. ONLY complaint is the length is super long. Recommend getting this 2 days prior to your event to hem all 3 layers.

It was a little big in the chest for me so I got those stick on bras. The back drops down so a regular bra will not work. The length was perfect and I'm 5'7". It was a lot of dress but I was able to dance all night long.
