This gown fit like a glove. It was perfect in every way. I rented 2 dresses and this gown was my 2nd choice with no "free" backup. I read through all reviews to choose 4L. Thank you ladies for the feedback. It was extremely helpful. I wore 4" heels.

Runs a little long for my 5'4" frame, I had to wear with 4-inch heels. Fit like a dream otherwise. Nice and snug through the torso without binding.

This dress was gorgeous! I wore it to a work awards ceremony- it was drop dead gorgeous and appropriate! I couldn't have picked a better dress!

This dress was one of the 2 dresses that was overnighted to me because the original dress I rented (different style) had a stain on it and the backup did not fit. I absolutely LOVED the look, feel, and color of this dress. It is GORGEOUS and really makes your curves stick out! I tried the dress on with and without a bra. There wasn't much room with the bra and it was much more comfortable without one, so I went without. Since the dress is well lined, I didn't need a bra anyway. I wore 4-inch heels and I wish that the dress was just 1/2 inch shorter or that I was that much taller- then the length would have been perfect. I am normally a size 6 in formal dresses and this dress fit, but was fairly tight in the ribcage. I did have some red marks when I took off the dress (but they were totally worth it). Issues: I recommend having a steamer on hand because I did have to steam the dress to get the wrinkles out (understandable) and then it looked perfect. The hook that attaches the hanging material to the back of the dress (near the waist) would come off whenever I sat down, so I would have to reach back and re-attach it periodically. This was my first time using RTR and there were some stressful moments with 2 stained dresses and 1 that didn't fit (not their fault), but RTR's customer service was great. I will use RTR again.

I felt so so fabulous in this dress. Based on reviews I knew I needed a 2 or 4. Without a bra on, the 2 fit alright but I prefer wearing one and the 4 was perfect! I'm glad I ordered the shorter hem; I am 5'4" and wore 3" heels and it was dead on.

My husband's job is having a huge black tie gala for their 100th anniversary. I rented this dress through unlimited to be sure I'd have it in time and it fit. My husband doesn't usually complement clothes but he called this dress "smokin". I love the fabric which is not forgiving but it's quality and makes the dress lay well and look rich.

I normally am a 0-2 in dresses. I rented the 0R and 2R. The 0 was just right in the bust but too tight in the rib cage. The 2 was just right in the rib cage but too big in the bust (32B bust). I wore the 2 with a regular push up bra and one of the straps tucked in. It fit perfectly this way. I wore ~2 inch heels and it was the perfect length. I would rent this again!!

Gorgeous color and it gave me a waist! Glad I read the reviews because I am between a 6 and 8 depending on style and needed a 10. I managed to make the petite work by wearing short heels.

Its true to size. The dress was marked 4R but wore like a 4P, since I am 5'1", wore 4" heels, and the front of the dress length was just barely above the floor. There is an angled slit in the chest area that isn't shown on the photograph of RTR model but you can see it in my dress comparison photo. The slit shows only a small amount of cleavage, just enough to give interest to the dress.

I received so many compliments throughout the night. The fit was perfect and I was so comfortable all night in this.

I wore this to a fundraising gala. I am so glad that I read the reviews and ordered a size up. I normally fluctuate between a 4 and a 6 but after reading the reviews I went with a 6 and an 8. I could not even get the zipper all the way up on the 6! The 8 fit like a glove. Being 5'5" I wasn't sure on the reviews about length but I knew I would be wearing heels so I went with the long instead of regular. Probably wasn't necessary for my height, as the train draped on the floor. I'm very "average" 5'5" 130lbs hourglass figure. So glad my vanity didn't keep me from ordering this dress just because a larger size was needed. I received compliments all night long. It was comfortable and classy. A timeless dress. :)

I rented this for a concerto performance with a symphony orchestra. This was my backup dress, and it was only available two sizes larger than my normal size (I usually wear a size 10) so I opted to chance it since other reviews stated that this dress runs quite small. This 14 was just a tiny bit loose around my ribcage (but I appreciated the room to breathe). From the waist on down, it definitely was too big - a 12 or perhaps even a 10 would have fit me better. One thing that the pictures don't make clear is that this dress has a bit of a mermaid cut to it - not A-line. The dress is cut to cling to your rear, but since it was loose on me, that effect was lost. Overall, I was happy with my rental. The length was perfect for me (I'm 5 ft 5 in, and I wore this dress with 3 inch heels and the skirt just skimmed the floor), and I got so many compliments on this dress! It is quite figure-flattering and forgiving, and the color is even more stunning in person.

This dress fit like a dream! I wore it to a ball and received many compliments. I don't normally go for mermaid dresses, but this one was flattering. The single shoulder with peep hole bodice gave it a little bit of extra that was classy and sexy. I literally shimmered like a peacock all night. The dress was overall wrinkled when received, so I had to have it pressed. This was not wrinkled from the shipping box...it looked like it had been washed and dried, but not pressed. Also, the hem isn't actually hemmed, but serged. I'm used to a proper 5/8" hem, but I guess most women wouldn't recognize or bother with such a detail. I am 5'2", 135 lbs and wore a 6R. I normally wear an 8. It was the correct length and allowed me to show my silver peep toe heels a little when I walked. It was very comfortable and not too fussy. I paired the dress with a pair of BADGLEY MISCHKA OCEAN MOON EARRINGS, an ELLA CARTER JESSE BRACELET, and the SONDRA ROBERTS SCOTT HANDBAG. I was very pleased with my rental and hope to use RTR again.

The dress is VERY fitted and runs a size small. It is extremely flattering and I would get it again.

I loved this dress! Crazy that this dress was a replacement for a damaged dress. It arrived about 30 minutes before my event. All the stress was totally worth it! I felt absolutely beautiful. The dress was extremely flattering and comfortable. Of course it's made very well and arrived in excellent condition. If you want to be the belle of the ball then rent this dress! I wore it with a corset bra (36 DD) and 4.5" heels for a perfect fit.

Rent The Runway never fails! I rented this dress for NAM's state pageant competition in Vegas. It was killer and helped me get 3rd place in the pageant♥ It fit perfectly. Like it was made for me. No bra was necessary, and I really did feel like a princess. It was a bit wrinkled when I got it towards the bottom, but hanging it up in the bathroom during showers for a day or two helped steam it out. No complaints at all. It was perfect.

I am 5 feet tall and usually wear a 10Petite. I wore 4 1/2" heels and the gown was only about 1" too long. I received so many compliments in this gown! The color looked amazing. Although the gown was wrinkled, I called RTR and they are reimbursing me $20 to have the dress pressed. I will definitely rent the runway again.

This designer runs super small in the bust and rib cage, and true to size everywhere else, once I got the dress zip it fit like a glove. It is beautiful and elegant, the bow is a little floppy, but fun.

While I did not end up wearing this dress to my event (hence the pic with gym hair and a Fitbit as an accessory). I thought this dress fit well and true to size. The length was perfect for me - 5"4' - with 3.5" heels. Would have been comfortable and not a constant tripping threat. I find that many of the RTR gowns in regular length are just too long for anyone under 5"6". I made sure to mention this in my title because I find myself scouring the reviews for dresses that the talker women complain are "too short." This one shouldered gown is very comfortable and doesn't require any heroic undergarments as do so many of the strapless, cut out and backless options. A normal strapless bra will do the trick! It has a timeless and sophisticated feel but the color takes it beyond basic.

This gown is a striking color, like that of the blue in a peacock feather, and it complemented my husband's Army dress uniform very well. The combination of the hue and the cut hit just the right note for me: understated and classy, yet stunning. I usually wear an 8 but was most comfortable in the 10R, which was a good fit, albeit snug around the hips (most noticeable when sitting). The substantial material disguised my not-so-flat belly, and even made it possible for me (as a 34DDD) to go without a bra. The skirt just cleared the floor when I added a 4-inch heel to my 5'5" self. I received multiple compliments and felt amazing the entire evening!

Okay so truthfully this dress looks like a mom dress in the picture but in person it is absolutely beautiful. The color is gorgeous, the cut is regal and extremely flattering. The over the shoulder look is so complimentary to the dress and the tight waist makes you look very curvy. Although it was beautiful, there were a few downsides. The bottom was slightly wrinkly from being in the bag (understandable), and the dress really is fairly short. How the cut is, it doesnt look SUPER weird if it doesnt touch the ground in heals, but if you are looking for that gown that will trail behind you, this isnt the one. Also the dress is extremely tight from your waist to pretty much your lower thigh. I didnt mind this that much since it made the dress very flattering, but it made sitting down quite difficult. All in all, highly recommend! I wore this to prom by the way. For some reason its not letting me update my body info so heres the details that are important to the dress: -height: 5'11 -bust: 32B -size worn: 6L -body type: kind of hour glass kind of pear shaped btw my stomach is not flat but if I had any more pudge the dress would probably show it

Ladies, do not be afraid of this dress! It is dramatic, but absolutely gorgeous in person....much better than online. My date kept laughing because I got stopped all night by women telling me how much they loved my dress. I normally wear a 4, but the 6L fit best. I did order the 8L too, but it was damaged in the front panel and also too big on top. I have a very small busy and a slight pear shape, so this accentuated all the right places. It was so fun to wear and a great first experience with RTR!

I rented this for a formal event where I served as emcee. It was perfect in that it required zero attention once it was on. It was a bear to steam it out, and you will HAVE to have help zipping it. The color is beautiful, and the cut is very elegant. Had I not worn the L my shoes would have been showing.

If you have an hourglass figure definitely go up a size. I could not get the 4 (my normal size) over my hips. I am 5'6 and some change, so the regular length would have been short for me if had tried to wear heels.

I should have ordered the longer length. In bare feet it just barely touch the ground. Great for hiding your mid section! The material is top notch. It definitely runs a bit small in the chest region so order up a size just in case!

This dress is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. The color is incredible. The fabric is thick and luxurious. It's structured enough that there's no need for a bra or spanx! I got compliments all night.

I wore this to a Mardi Gras ball. It does run small (especially for we curvier women). But it was very flattering on. I loved it! I am short though (5.2) and if I would've been a couple inches taller and worn heels it might would have been too short. It was the perfect length for me wearing flats though. So tall women, watch out!

I usually wear a size 6 and this was true to size. Snug through hip and thigh but highlighted my assets nicely. The dress has an ever so slightly elongated train. I'm 5'8" without heels and was able to wear a 3 inch heel with the regular length dress and it draped perfectly. The bodice has an angular cut out that is barely visible but provides a nice touch. I wore a strapless bra without a problem. Such a unique dress, I received so many compliments and not one other woman had on this dress or anything close to it (which can be hard to do at a military ball). Photographs beautifully, I paired it with simple teardrop earrings from RTR. I felt like royalty in this dress and would rent again in a heartbeat for another formal function.

Dress fit slightly snug - it's a fitted dress around the hips! It was a beautiful dress, and my mom received tons of compliments. She got both a 2 and 4, but the 4 gaped too much around the bust.

I have an athletic build but small waist, so while the 4L fit, I had more room in the hips area to move (i.e. sit and dance) in the 6L. The details on this gown are wonderful! The bow was so elegant, it hooks on the side (it did come unhooked a few times at night, but it was more because of how much I was moving than anything else.) The slit at the top of the dress wasn't noticeable until I put it on - it was the perfect touch for a classy yet sexy look. The fit through the hips and butt was great - I got so many compliments on how great I looked in it. I didn't want to take it off! It's perfect for a formal/black tie event and the color makes you stand out all night! I'd definitely recommend this dress!

Fit is true to size but the hips are a little tight so sitting can be awkward you have to wiggle the dress up a bit to be comfortable. At 5'3" and in 3" heels the regular skimmed the ground. You can wear a strapless or one shoulder bra or nothing. The color is fantastic and really pops! This dress really makes your curves look fantastic! The dress is heavier than I expected and the skirt fuller but not uncomfortably so and I did not get hot in it. This dress is such a show stopper highly recommend!!!! Because of the materiel it is made out of I recommend steaming it when you get it, it gets creased fairly easily and being in a box did it no favors but the dress arrived in perfect condition.

I received so many compliments on this dress. It runs true to size and fit great. However, like some of the other reviews stated, the zipper is very hard to get up....even with an extra set of hands. It is a very pretty color. It looks Royal blue in the pictures but has a little hint of turquoise in person.

Should have gone with my gut and gotten a smaller size instead of bigger for my backup. The 6R was too big! It still looked amazing, and I got tons of compliments. If this dress had existed in white, I would have gotten married in it! I just wasn't comfortable at the event because it was gapping at the top and felt too loose. Lots of dress tape! I had a baby last year, so the other reviews saying it ran small worried me. Next time I'll do my measurements ahead of time!

Rented for formal night on a cruise. The fabric of the dress is substantial and the cut is very flattering. It was curve hugging and did wonders for my waist, which is normally rather thick - I became an hourglass! The side ruffle helps to hide the tummy area too. Normally somewhere between a 12 and 14, I went with 14 and it was on the tight side, but not uncomfortably so. I did need a helping hand with the side zipper, partly because of the thickness of the fabric. I was comfortable sitting through dinner and strolling through the ship, I didn't try dancing in it though. I'm 5'8" and would have preferred a long length, the hem didn't reach the floor even in flats. All in all, I would rent it again. It was a head-turner!
