I love Marchessa—I can can always rely on a great fit. Very comfortable. The lace is beautiful and the ruffle is in just the right place that you don’t feel like you need to hold your breath all night. Did I mention how comfortable this dress is? :)

The fit was great! It camouflaged all the right areas...I loved this dress and I wish I could buy it. I added a sash ti help define my waistline.

Dress fit fabulous! Perhaps an inch longer than perfect for me but worked well. A touch itchy around the arm but not an issue. I felt really good in it. My experience with RTR was excellent. Highly recommend them. I will be renting again soon. So much fun!!

This is now of my favorite dress I have rented from RTR. I absolutely love the fit and the elegance of this dress. I wore it to a wedding, and received an overwhelming amount of compliments. The fit was perfect, it was form fitting in the top which made my upper body look divine, and yet loose towards the bottom that allowed me to eat and dance freely all night. I must say that when I first put on the dress, I had to wiggle in it to get comfortable, but overall this rental was a success to the extent that I am considering buying this dress for my closet.

This dress fit like a glove. It's equal parts conservative and sexy, classy and modern. I rented from the Unlimited program but it came too late for the wedding so unfortunately the only dancing I did in it was around my bedroom! I would rent it again, no question- I loved it. No fit complaints here, simply a beautiful dress.

I could have probably worn a 6 but it was not available as a secondary option. Spanx worked wonders with it. I loved the 2-tone black and gold contrast. The lace was exquisite! I also loved the embroidered pencil skirt underneath the fuller tulle skirt. The peplum did a great job of hiding the tum. The bodice fit perfectly on me. I might have to wear this again somewhere!

I felt very elegant in this dress that I wore to the White House correspondents affair. Among celebrities and dignitaries and media delete, I blended right in and felt fabulous. I got compliments all night. The dress ran true to size. I wore a corset, strapless garment underneath and it held everything in place. Lovely design for an elegant affair.

If you wear a strapless bra, I would make sure to wear a black one, as the cleavage dips a little.

I have to admit that for as long as I've admired this dress, I was consumed by second thoughts about it until the moment after I arrived at the event--was it too matronly? did it flatter me? I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the deluge of compliments I received after walking in the door--from both strangers and friends, washed away any feelings of doubt I had and that I could not have been happier with my decision to finally rent this dress! I do agree with other reviewers that it's not the sexiest dress, but it's stunning elegance makes up for it and elevates your look in a whole different way. I also agree that the underskirt is tight! It shortened my stride a little as it had no stretch and I wore the larger backup size (8) to ensure I'd be able to move without risking some sort of disaster! I usually wear a 6 and sometimes even a 4 in dresses, but I am so glad I sized up on this one.

The dress is even more gorgeous in person! It's really tight with the layer of poof over it... So don't feel like sucking it in all night :) loved it!!

Beautiful dress, rented this for my late husband's honor hour and it was perfect. Classy, comfortable, and unique detailing. Couldn't have made a better choice for the occasion.

I ordered a 2 and a 0 and the 0 fit perfectly. It was tight enough to be flattering and long enough to still be classy for my formal speaking event.... while always keeping it easy to move. I wore a strapless bra with this. I received so many compliments about how "vogue" I looked and how beautiful the detail was in the dress and skirt area. This was the perfect dress!

The fit is extremely true to size- but the underskirt is a bit tight so if you're worried about the bottom, go up a size. I'm usually a 4, but after reading the reviews about the skirt size I went up to a 6 and it fit perfectly. Definitely recommend!

The dress was beautiful! Very elegant and feminine. It was a little scratchy under the arms, but otherwise very comfortable. At the event I attended, I was speaking with one of the staff and another walked up and said "Did you tell her she won?" When I laughed and asked what, she said they'd voted mine the best dress at the event. :)

This was a perfect dress for a (Southern California) winter wedding. I loved the gold lace! The inside layer, lining, was a bit snug so I went with the 10 instead of the 8. Also the skirt lining is a bit shorter but not very noticeable because of the outer layer. Other than that, I loved the dress and would rent it again, it was a beautiful dress.

Beautiful dress with elegant details and design. Runs small throughout, but the shape of the dress is pretty forgiving. For bigger busted women like myself, note that the dress is cut low and small on the top (even in the bigger size) which means that your cleavage will be (tastefully) on display. Also, due to the sheer top, a strapless bra/corset works best. I wore this to a rehearsal dinner and it was perfect for the occasion. I received a ton of compliments and felt gorgeous in it all night. So happy with it!

This was another backup dress that was sent for a wedding I attended last summer. Ended up not wearing it, but it's a stunner. It fit me a bit tight in the chest area but I've lost about 8 pounds since trying this last summer and I think the 6 would be perfect on me now. I will rent this dress for a black tie event or formal wedding in the future. Can't say enough about RTR's customer service. They over-nighted 2 other dresses when my first choose dress wasn't fitting as I hoped.

I was looking for a fun dress to wear to a wedding at a Southern wine vineyard and came across this beauty in my search! This was my very first RTR rental and it was worth every penny! Not only did I get compliments all evening but even the Mother of the Bride came up to me after to tell me that she thought my dress was one of the classiest and best of the bunch! The material was a bit itchy and the inner skirt is very fitted (you can't see it in the pictures beneath the tulle) but overall it's very comfortable and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion!

This was my second time to use RTR. I ordered this dress for a night out at the ballet and it was perfect..It was classy, comfortable and flattering,. I ordered a 0 and a 2. The 2 fit better because of the fitted skirt underneath.I did not need to wear a bra. I received many compliments that evening and will be ordering from RTR again. Such and easy process!

This dress is very flattering if you are bustier the dress can be a little low cut but the mesh on the top masks that a bit

I normally wear a size 8, which fit well but went with wearing the size 10 for the event because it was so darn hot the bottom half of the dress was sticking to my legs too much. The 10 provided just a bit more breathing room. The dress was gorgeous! The mother and grandmother of the bride were changing into their wedding clothes when the aunt was raving about it. They both stopped mid-change to come out and see it. I got compliments all night long.

Wore this dress to a mardi gras themed party and it was perfect. The under skirt is fitted and really showed off my curves, while the flowy overskirt moved beautifully and was SO much fun to dance in. Definitely needs a strapless bra, and if you're moving a lot, is a little restricting by the end of the night but otherwise, a great dress. Would definitely recommend.

This dress was perfect for the event but i would caution that it's not as flattering in the waist as I would have liked. I had no trouble with the bottom being tight, as I think others ran into, and I felt comfortable all night. I would recommend this dress for a formal event where you need to be a bit more modest (I was working, so I couldn't be totally va-va-voom) but still want to look special.

The gold lace was beautiful. There was no stiffness. The black stretch "under skirt" was shorter than I expected (I am 5'7") hitting mid thigh, but with the longer black chiffon "over skirt" hitting at the knee it still looked appropriate for my tastes and age. I received lots of compliments on the dress. Package came on time as promised and the extra size 12 was included. The 10 just looked slimmer on my body & felt perfect. Return was simple and easy with the UPS prepaid mailer. I will certainly try R the R again!

I rented this to attend a black tie optional holiday party. I wanted a dress that was classy, but still a bit sexy and this dress delivered. It was a nice tea length on my petite figure and my ample cleavage was present, but a bit hidden under the black sheer top. I was a bit worried it came across matronly, but was told by several girlfriends that that was absolutely not the case. I really enjoyed wearing this dress and it was perfect for the party I attended.

This dress was beautiful! I rented it for my company holiday party which was masquerade themed. The size 4 fit well. The only thing is it was a little snug on my 32 DDs and the result was really nice cleavage! The only problem was that it was a professional work event so I had to tone it down by wearing the size 6. It went over really well. I wore with a strapless black bra with no issues. It's a high quality dress and the tulle skirt is so fun! It made me feel classy and the length and overall conservative-ness of this dress was good for a work party. I'd give it a 10 if the waist was smaller on the 6 to fit (my waist is 27") and the material around the arm holes was a little itchy/ scratchy but I forgot about that quickly!

The dress itself is beautiful, however it did run small. The skirt part has a small leg opening so it was hard to walk upstairs and get into a car. The gold details of the dress are absolutely beautiful and worth noting! I usually wear a size 0, and I did this time but it was definitely tight. The zipper was a tad hard to get up, but other than that it was great. Go a size up!

The underskirt is a little tight so if you have any hips you'll probably want to go up a size. I found that the top of the 2 and 4 did fit similarly, the only difference was with the underskirt. The hemline of the underskirt was still a little tight but I only felt it when I was going up stairs. I had no problems dancing for hours in it. It's a very comfortable and elegant dress, I would definitely wear it again.

This dress is gorgeous. It made me look much more fashionable than I am in real life! Its extremely flattering especially in the bust, although I would recommend not wearing crazy bracelets with it, as mine kept getting caught. I wore this to a late summer wedding - its not the best dancing dress as its a little restricting through the waist, hence the 4/5 instead of 5/5. Also got a little hot.. so would probably recommend more for fall/winter than summer obviously. But its beautiful, fits true to size.. and very easy to match accessories to!

This dress is gorgeous, very classy. I ordered sizes 4 and 6 and I went with the 4. It was difficult to bend over in this dress, the skirt is very tight. I would definitely recommend the dress!

Overall, this was a beautiful, well constructed, elegant dress... that wasn't very flattering on my body. Elegant, yes - sexy, not so much. The lining of the skirt portion is tight but stretchy, while the lack of stretch in the bodice is what made me choose the 4 over the 2. It was a little tight in the arm holes for me, but this is usually where I have problems with dresses. The bust had extra room on my 34B chest but might be tight on a larger chest. The length just covered my knees. Overall, I thought the shape of the dress was not at all flattering. The peplum gave the impression that I'm the same width in my shoulders, waist, and hips, without giving any definition to my waist. I definitely didn't feel sexy when I looked in the mirror.... BUT the fabric was beautiful, the gold detailing and sheer overlay in the skirt were very elegant, and the style was absolutely perfect for the black-tie Indian wedding I attended. The dress is really stunning, and if there's an event where you'd rather look elegant/timeless/classy (versus super hot), then this is a must-rent dress!

Beautiful. Very nice dress but little high priced for what it is. Should be $80 and it would be great. Skirt is tight which makes it hard to dance or walk long distances.

The details are what make this dress, the top is beautiful (yes you can wear a normal strapless bra with it). I was worried the skirt would be too snug but it fit really well!

The dress has no stretch, but it fit very well. I was surprised at how fitted the underskirt portion was, but once I got used to it and realized that I wouldn't be able to comfortably sit down, it worked well. I received a ton of compliments on this dress -- it's certainly a stunning dress!

Absolutely loved this dress! I usually wear between a size 10 and 12 in dresses but they didn't have those sizes available. However, after reading reviews that it runs small, I chanced my luck with the size 14 dress. It fit just a little big in the back area, but over all it was perfect! Got complements all night! Easy to dance in and not itchy at all! This was my first rent the runway dress and I will definitely be renting again!

This dress was perfect for the prohibition party I had for my 25th! The bottom layer definitely runs tight but the 2 was a great fit! I didn't want to take this dress off it is STUNNING. It definitely is a great knee length dress.
