I cannot recommend this dress enough. I contemplated buying it! It fit perfectly and I have a larger upper area (chest and muscular arms), which causes concern toward long sleeve items. But this dress was a dream. It hugged in the right places, but not too tight. It is true to size. Everyone adored it and I was showered with compliments ALL night. Will definitely rent again.

I wore this dress to my junior prom and it was definitely unique even compared to all the other black dresses. I wish it had a slit so it had a little more comfort but overall it was absolutely amazing and looks better in person. There's no tan underneath as it shows in the picture it's just black but I loved it that way. And it photographs unbelievably! I would say it fits true to size and I'm 5'3 and wore 4 inch heels and it hovered the floor perfectly.

It fit me very well. The dress was tight but not too tight, still flattering. I wore 3 inch heels and ordered a long and the dress perfectly hit the floor, I would have like it a little longer but it was still fine. Also, the shoulders felt a little large on me.

This dress fits like a glove, it was comfortable, the length was not too long so I could walk without holding the gown I liked that, it's well built in the inside so you feel good without a bra, I enjoyed the bottom flow shape!

I rented the 2R with the 4R for backup and wore the 2R. The dress fit perfectly in the waist and chest - no bra stickies needed! The lining was a little long and hung out under the overlay, but did not look bad. The arms are tight - I'm somewhat muscular in my biceps area and this was quite snug, making the arm movement a little more restricted. However, not a problem because I was not moving around a lot! I'm 5'3" and wore 4" heels - the dress still hit the ground, but I didn't have any problems walking. I just needed to be careful on the stairs. Overall, a stunning dress. I received compliments all night long in this gown.

This dress is so beautiful. The deep V neck and lace detailing is so elegant. I am wearing a size 8 in the photo. The dress does fit true to size. The dress is fitted in my mid-section, waist and my hips. I recommend curvier women going a size up for their backup size. The fabric has no stretch. This dress is perfect for any cup size. I am a 36D and felt very comfortable in the dress. This dress should be worn with a NuBra because of the deep V in the back of the dress. This dress is perfect for a black tie event or wedding. Pair with nude heels and minimal jewelry.

Gorgeous dress! I purposely rented this one because I am only 5'4" and wanted to wear heels of a normal height instead of monster heels. It did the trick! The details are so beautiful and I got complimented all night. I felt comfortable enough in the dress without wearing any spanx and had enough room to eat some dinner too!

I rented this beautiful dress for a gala. It fits true to size, I'm 5' and I used 4@ shoes. It was perfect. I got tons of complements. Because of the low back cut I didn't wear bra. It was very conmfortabl, the fabric have some stretch. It was just perfect!!

This is the second time I rented this dress. I was co-chairing a bug fundraiser and had to look absolutely fabulous. It was glamorous. It was not to low cut and looked amazing all night. For a formal event this is the dress to wear.

I'm a young photographer working on my college project, I rent this dress for my model's photoshoot, the pictures turns out surprisingly beautiful! Shipping was super fast as usual.

Fit was overall good. Loved the dress and the lace so it made up for some of the faults. Dress is very short! I'm 5'3 and it barely covered my shoes. Sleeves were also extremely tight. Lace is gorgeous though, it is black underneath unlike the model picture which shows nude. I didn't mind it, just gave it a darker feel. Would definitely recommend this dress.

This dress is simply beautiful. It was the absolute perfect dress to wear for a ball I attended with my husband. So, so pretty, there are no words to describe! I ordered a 4 and was hoping to get the 6 as my backup size, but they were out. I hesitantly went with a 2 as my backup after reading some reviews and thinking that might could work. The 2 fit everywhere except it wouldn't quite zip up, but it didn't matter because the 4 fit me like a glove! The only con to this dress (which is hardly even worth mentioning because the pros are so great!) is that the length was almost too short for me. Even paired with a low heel, the dress was just a little short, so if you're planning on wearing a tall heel or you are tall in general, I would recommend getting the long. Overall, I felt so incredibly gorgeous in this dress! Recommend recommend recommend!

The dress runs a bit short. I am usually size 4 but I had to wear size 6 because of the length.

The details on this dress are awesome; definitely agreed with the suggestion not to wear a necklace. I do recommend that if you're tall and you have a little junk in the trunk, you go with a long size; I went with 14R and you can see in one of the pictures that it fell a little short on me.

Dress was comfortable & fit me perfectly! I am 5'7 & the long was the perfect length. Only negative was the zip took a lot of work to get up as fabric is thick but hubby & I worked it

I wore this dress for a midnight masquerade ball on NYE in Aspen and it was absolutely perfect! I was surrounded by so many beautiful people (some of which celebrities) and I received SO many compliments on this dress! I originally ordered a 2R and a 4R and the 2R ended up being perfect--it was snug but it hugged my figure perfectly and pulled it all in well I think. Also it was nice that I didn't have to wear a bra and it was totally fine not even any kind of sticky bra underneath which I was worried about after reading some of the comments. So I'm 5'3.5" and I wore 3.5" closed toed heels and they were the perfect height to just cover my shoes but not be dragging on the floor. You cannot go wrong with this dress for a formal affair it is stunning in person and you will feel like a queen!

Dress fit perfectly on me (even though my arms and butt tend to run larger) and length was perfect for my petite stature plus 4.5 inch heels. I was able to wear without a bra (can't wear a strapless anyways due to the back) and I think it is thick enough to cover any bumps but there is room for Spanx. Agree with previous review that the lining of the dress is black not nude as pictured so the detail of the black lace is not as apparent but it's still a stunning dress. I received so many compliments, even from random strangers!

Dress was definitely true-to-fit. I ordered the 10R and 12R. The 10R fit with the exception of the bust. I am very, very busty. So, I went with the 12R and voila... perfection! I (and my husband) received many compliments throughout the night. This was my second RTR look for this event. It was a very comfortable dress as there is a nude underlay that gives it some stretch. The arms were also quite comfortable and tested during the dancing portion of the reception. : ) The attached picture really does not do it justice (sorry about that), it was actually quite flattering and I was very pleased. This was my first RTR experience and I am looking forward to my next event. I also wore heels with about a 3.5" heel and it was perfect given the hem length of the dress. I hope all Marchesa dresses are this comfortable. The cut was very well done for a curvy woman with a bustline.

I wore this gown to a black tie event, and I felt like a princess! The detail on the dress is beautiful. The fabric is a little heavier than it looks but it's nothing crazy! I have a very large chest so I went with the 8R and it held me in and I didn't have to wear a bra. I like to wear high heels so this dress was almost too short, the top just skimmed my toes, but nothing I couldn't work with. I couldn't have been happier with this rental!

The fit of the dress was wonderful. Perfect length to wear with a standard high heel. I had compliments all night from strangers and friends! The way this dress made me feel while wearing was nothing short of wonderful. Perfect for a black tie event.

Do not recommend for busty build.

RTR is lucky I returned it, I was in love with it and gave it a retro vintage feel since my husband is a Gatsby fan and it was his event. I just felt beautiful in it and received compliments all night. On to fit, I am size 2 in just about everything, this was my first RTR gown. My waist is a 27 in., bust 34D and I am 5'5", athletic build 125lbs. I wore 1 in.heels so this dress was just long enough any higher I would have needed a pedicure. The waist was a little snug, but the Chest and shoulders were loose, I wore a sticky bra and double sided tape. but overall comfortable. The photo on the website is the gives a very nude illusion, which can be seen in the right lighting, it's not as plunged in the front as I hopped, but with the size 4 I probably could have got that effect. Ordered both, just never tried the 4R. Seriously, a gorgeous gown!

Dress was fun and glamorous to wear -- at an Italian Villa!

This dress is beautiful - I felt elegant! People were coming up to me all night to give me complements... I thought it was comfortable. - did not find it itchy or too heavy. As far as the fit goes - The dress lays nicely. I wore a backless push-up bra with it. As others have said, the zipper is a little tricky, but what you would expect for a small zipper through multiple layers of fabric. I'm 5'5" and had to wear flats (which I thought was a bonus)...

The only caution I would say is that at 5'4" I wore a 2 inch heal and that was perfect for the length. If you're taller than 5'4" consider getting the L and not the R.

This was the first dress I wore in my senior recital and I cannot explain how magical and confident I felt in this gown. I had to wear the 16R because my 14R couldn't be shipped to me so the sleeves kept wanting to fall off of me, but the dress still looked wonderful and it was a fan favorite amongst my friends and family. If I were to wear it again I would probably get some kind of sticky bra to wear with it so I'm not constantly fixing my boobs ( I am a 36DDD ), but other than that I loved this gown and how absolutely wonderful it made me feel.

I order size 8, I think the 6 would have been a better fit. LOVE IT

This dress is absolutely gorgeous!! It wore it to a black tie event in Washington D.C. I am 5'5" so this dress was a bit too long, but I had to have it so I wore tall heels and it worked perfectly! It was also very comfortable.

I loved the design and cut of the dress and neckline - the sequins were gorgeous! I'm 5'10" so I admit the regular was a little short and the bottom is a pretty straight cut - I would recommend the long if you intend to wear heels. I will also add the dress looked amazing in lights, but looks a little dark and less sheer in "real life."

I wore this gown to a gala and received many compliments, but definitely agree with other RTR girls' comments: it is not forgiving in the hip area so if you have larger hips, go a size up. While I wasn't *as thrilled* about it in person as I thought I would be, it was perfect for a black tie gala. Piano-playing date not included ;)

I am typically a size 2, but when it comes to dresses, I always size down because I am smaller on the top than I am on the bottom. I am also 5'4". I heard reviews that the dress is shorter than normal and this is true. With the 0R, I wore 5 inch heels and you could see a part of my shoes. Although it didn't look bad, I would have preferred the gown to be all the way to the floor. Furthermore, the top of the dress fell down at time because it is open in the back and my shoulders are not that wide. It was not noticeable but it was annoying to me at times. Overall, the dress was beautiful. And the whole process was easy from the arrival to the return. shoulders are not wide

This dress was perfect for a fall formal event! I wore it to my brother's Air Force Ball. It was classy and sophisticated. Like other reviewers, I was disappointed in the "long" length as it was definitely more of a "Regular" length. I am 5'9" and the Long barely touched the floor when I was flat footed. Otherwise it was perfect for the occasion. The sequins are not too shiny, and the nude underlay was not as obvious as in the photo.

The fit is true to size and I got the 0L based on reviews that it was too short for girls my height to wear with heels. The length was perfect with 4 inch heels for me and touched the ground but not enough to trip over myself. I'm small busted so the deep V in the back caused the shoulders of the sleeves to want to slip off, but a little maneuvering every now and then seemed to do the job. Overall, this was a perfect dress for the occasion. It's a little heavy and the sleeves can get a little itchy but it's a small price to pay for how beautiful it was!

This dress looks much different in person. I ended up not wearing because of the sleeves (was renting for a black tie optional wedding in June for a friend where I was in the house party and had to wear black) and how fancy it was. It also was a little loose and just a tad short. I could have worn short heels and perhaps gotten away with it but it didn't touch the floor when I was barefoot. I think this would be great for a winter black tie wedding or NYE.
