I rented this for NYE. It's a simple black dress (50s style) but with the mesh areas around the torso gave the dress an updated appeal. The top was a bit type, but everywhere else was great. Definitely would recommend this.

I wore this dress for a NYE party. I ordered it in 8 and 10 and wore the 8 (worth noting--I can't get my RTR profile to change but my weight is closer to 155 right now). The dress is well-structured so that I felt very comfortable and not self conscious about my body at all (despite holiday feasting!). If your bust is the right size, a bra wouldn't be needed--I wore one because it was a little big in the bust on me without one. But I didn't feel the need for shapewear, which was nice. The skirt is really fun and full (and has great pockets--I carried my wallet, cell phone, and lipstick without it changing the line of the skirt). The skirt hit at the top of my knee. My only issue was that some of the boning in the bodice was poking me towards the end of the night.

This dress was really comfortable. I just found that the top was really tight, where the bottom was bigger and pretty long.

Beautiful dress for a fundraiser fashion show! I'm 5'8" and the dress was not too short at all, plus the flared skirt gives a straight frame some shape. The mesh cutouts add a little bit of sexy, too, while keeping it looking chic. I did not have to wear a bra with this dress and luckily I'm quite flat-chested as the top was snug! But at least I knew it wasn't going anywhere! First RTR experience and I will definitely be returning!

Loved this dress! It was the perfect cut for my hourglass shape. Cleavage was good without being too overt. Dress hit the top of my knees but I'm only 5' tall. I wish the cutouts were a little more pronounced for a little bit of a sexier vibe and also the ribbing had broken through and stabbed me in certain spots all night long, but overall I was complimented lots and it's a great basic dress that you can add lots of accessories with to make it your own.

I didn't like the dresses I ordered, found this at the store in DC. Altho it took FOREVER to get a fitting room, I was immediately at ease to have found this and another cute black dress just a day before a work awards banquet. I may have been able to go to a 0 but they didn't have that size. It has bra cups inside so you don't need a bra, and it looked great as long as I pulled it up but a smaller size might have been perfect.

This is a gorgeous dress that got plenty of compliments and looks. I love Marchesa Notte's elegant and feminine styles. The quality of the material (stiff silk) was very nice and the see through mesh on the tummy and sides was a great detail. This dress is very light and comfortable to wear. The only drawback is how tight the top hemline of the bust area is because it tends to make you look flat so I had to wear a NuBra to create cleavage while trying to avoid the ripple effect of skin folds on top of this tight hemline. A larger size didn't solve the problem and it had a roomier waistline so I chose size 2 despite often wearing 4. Overall a great dress but busty girls may have problems making the top look nice.

The size 8's i had ordered were too tight, so this was my 3rd dress for an event. I received the day of event. Really not loving it. I'm 5'5. i ordered and 8 and a 10, the 8 was falling off of me. I had to go buy a push up bra in hopes the dress would stay up. The entire night I was pulling it up. It would slide down and would hit at an unflattering place. Overall didn't enjoy this dress at all. The sheen was odd. I'm guessing the 8 maybe was stretched out? i don't know. I'm a 34D, 5'5 150, carry most of my junk in my trunk. Anyway. didn't enjoy this rental.

The dress has pockets which was honestly the biggest selling point by I got so many compliments on it!

Loved this dress! It was the perfect little black dress with a twist. Like other said the top runs tight and does not have much give. I have a smaller chest and wide rib-cage. I was able to zip the 4 up with help, but it was tight~ It did give way as the night went on tho! I would love to own this dress

Runs maybe 1 size small so sized up. Fit perfectly for a large chest and did not need to wear a strapless bra. Boning and details are lovely. Also has pockets! Will absolutely rent again. Perfect dress.

Lovely dress. The details on the top of the dress are really sexy and I love the sheer cut outs. The only drawback is that there is NO give on the top and it is very small. Anyone over a full B cup might be pouring out of it.

This is such a great look for a party! I love that the bodice is a bit sheer, which is a fun surprise. There is boning, which makes the style tighter than I would prefer. However, because there is boning, you don't need to wear a bra. The material is thick and a little stiff, to ensure that the skirt stays flared. The skirt is fuller in person than it looks in the pictures, which gives it more of a party dress vibe. You can also dress this style up or down with your choice of accessories!

Arrived too late to wear to event but luxurious dress with cute picket detail keeps it fun. Sheer in the bodice adds just enough sexiness without showing too much for a formal event. Will rent again for another formal event if available for unlimited

I ordered this dress for a wedding, but was unable to wear it due to size issues. I ordered the size 2, and it fit fine, except it would not zip up the last inch. I read in previous reviews that the bust area doesn't increase in larger sizes, so don't think that would have solved the problem. If it had fit, it would have worked really nicely. I liked the sheer areas, which were discreet enough for a wedding, yet made it a little sexy.

Beautiful dress, but the bust is way too small. Dress fit and looked great- all over except the bust. I am a large C/Small D and there just wasn't any room. Size up for this dress if you have a larger bust.
