I rented this dress to attend a very formal, black-tie event with my husband. I read the reviews and wasn't sure what size I should order. I'm curvy and athletic. My bust is a 32DDD, but I have a very small torso and waist, with larger hips. Even though I have a large bust, in most dresses I wear a 2. If the dress is very form fitting without any give in the hip area, I usually wear a 4. This dress is fitted and has no give; The 4 fit me perfectly. I absolutely loved wearing it, and even though it was fitted, I had no problem dancing in it. It was really comfortable to wear. The tulle is beautiful, but long which made it easy to step on. I had read someone else say they pinned it, so that's what I did and I had no problem. I pinned two places right in the front that made the tulle the same length as the dress (floor length) and let the rest flow on the ground. It was perfect, and nobody could tell it was pinned. I received so many compliments on this dress. I was even told numerous times that it was the most beautiful dress at the event.

The length was perfect. The dress is fitted through the hips. So the size 10 worked better for my curves. The top of the dress seemed a little big on me, but a nice strapless bra and body tape fixed that.

Very good fit. Don't even need a strapless bra. Not easy to use the restroom in, but other than that fabulous dress!! Beautiful print and love the black toule overlay...made the dress!

I'm all of 5'1 on a good day. So the dress was a bit long on me even in inches of heels. The size four fit me wonderfully in the waist because even though I'm thin, I have some freaking hips, butt and stomach and there is nothing wrong with that. The top part was a bit big however, I order a bra to wear with it that never arrived ( not from this site ) and the fashion tape was useless, but I don't dance so keeping the girls in the dress wasn't much of an issue. The dress is absolutely freaking gorgeous and was perfect for a masquerade party, though we did forget our masks at home.

I wore this gown to a post theater formal birthday dinner at The Russian Tea room in NYC. I am only 4'11" so I had to wear 6 inch heels, hem tape the dress up about 3 inches, and pin the tulle a little. I was more than prepared to put in the work to wear this beautiful gown. Average height women should have no problem, the tulle will fall beautifully around the dress. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a standout showstopper gown! I have nothing bad to say!

This dress is very eye catching and extremely well made. It works well for a large bust. I'm barely 5'3" and 36DD, and it fit like the dress was made for me. I wore a corset bra for extra support and, despite my fears, it zipped easily. With 4 1/2 inch heels, the actual dress was the perfect length, and the tulle dragged the ground just enough to make me look graceful as I walked. Be careful with the tulle though, it tears easily. But if you lose a piece or two, no one will notice. I had the dress professionally steamed, so I did not have a problem with the tulle clinging from static as others mentioned. The lace around the middle made my waste look small. Overall, the dress is very flattering. If you want to stand out at a formal affair, this dress will definitely deliver a dramatic effect.

I was expecting the "wow" factor when I first saw the dress, but it's more dull/dark than in the professional pics on RTR. The tulle dims the white and colors of the flowers underneath, and the tulle is very, very fragile and tears easily. I wore 4-5 inch platform heals (silver metallic as suggested by RTR) and occasionally the tulle would get caught in the heal when sitting. However, the dress is still stunning and unique and I received many compliments. The size 10 was true to size. The bust was a little roomie, but not enough room for me to wear a strapless bra and be able to zip the dress; therefore, I went bra-less and the dress was able to provide enough support. I found I was still able to walk around and dance with ease, but with needing to lift the dress and long tulle when walking up/down steps. The RTR customer support team was tremendous during my whole rental process, and they deserve kudos!

I rented this dress for a formal family portrait. The print and colors are accurately depicted on the website. The dress fits true to size. I normally wear a size 4. I rented a size 4 and a size 6 because I was unsure how well the gown would accommodate 34D's. The size 4 worked out just fine in the chest area. The black tulle was a bit long for my height, even with 6 inch heels. Since I was only taking pictures, the extra length did not bother me. Overall, a very beautiful gown that served it's purpose well.

Love this dress. It is, however, quite the feat to pull off. While the fabric of the dress ends daintily at the ankles, the black tulle - which is absolutely formidable - lazes around on the floor. It makes for a graceful effect in a standstill photo, but it's a hard dress to walk around in ((at least for those of us that aren't fashion models)), let alone dance, and steps were a nightmare. The layer of tulle isn't a simple layer to lift, it's a multilayered endeavor. Having said all that, if you want a dress that makes a powerful statement and sets you apart from all the other girls in their LBDs - this is it! I wore this dress to a New Year's Eve party in DC and received compliments all night ((when I was standing still of course)). The fit of the dress is true to size - I'm normally a two and rented a two. The bust is a bit tight - don't think I could have fit a strapless bra underneath. All in all, great experience that I never could have bought on my own. Thanks RTR.

I am 5'4" and the regular length was perfect with 5 inch heels. It definitely runs small but initially felt tighter when I first put it on than it did after 30 minutes. The quality and style of this dress is amazing!

It was a little tighter than most size 4's I've worn. But it was well worth the two weeks of not eating junk food.

Wore this to a guild awards. Fit was great! A little roomy in the bust area for me, but wearing a strapless bra helped fill out the top. The tulle is a bit long, but I wore it with 4" heels and it kept me from stepping on it.

A dramatic dress! Loved the tulle but it needs tone steamed out. I loved this dress and was so glad my first choice wasn't available so I could rent this one.

This is not something I'd typically pick-- it's really splashy. But when I put it on it just felt right. Strapless dresses don't typically fit me (or rather, I hate yanking them up all night) but this was actually pretty comfortable. I even trusted it to stay up! However, as you can see by my pic, it did cause a bit of a chicken cutlet situation. But... Who cares. Women are humans who have bodies. God forbid we have armpits.

I didn't even think to get a good pic of me in the dress, but at least this pic will give you an idea of what it looks like in person. The floral under skirt is not as vivid as it appears to be in the RTR photo. The black tulle kind of muddies up the floral. And the tulle was a hot wrinkled mess when it arrived. I tried pressing it, but was afraid of melting the nylon, so I don't think my iron was hot enough to make much difference. That being said, I did still like the dress. The underskirt is pretty straight and narrow, but I still had plenty of room to walk. It wasn't too short for me in a pair of 3" heels, but if I'd been wearing taller shoes, it would have been too short. There are two zippers in the back, which I didn't notice. My husband noticed when he was zipping me up. I didn't have to wear a bra, and the dress stayed up nicely. It was very comfortable. In the past my shipments from RTR arrived in a corrugated cardboard box and were very nicely packaged inside and arrived unwrinkled and ready to wear. This shipment came in a fabric garment bag. I don't know if that was a factor in the way the tulle was wrinkled. It does make sense to use a reusable shipping package, but not if it means your garments arrive in need of pressing. Overall I was very pleased with this dress.

It was comfortable, I had no problems, except occasionally stepping on the chiffon fabric. I"m 5'4" and wore 4 inch silver heels. Was just beautiful. The bodice stayed up nicely.

I usually steer clear of strapless dresses because my posture usually gets really bad because I'm worried about the top staying up. But then again, I've never worn a $100+ strapless dress before, let alone a $1000+ strapless dress. Turns out that high quality strapless dresses tend to have extremely well-structured corsets and if you get the right size, they stay up rather effortlessly! This dress grabbed a lot of attention and a lot of people loved it. When an asymmetrical dress that looks "crazily-made" succeeds in looking stunning, this says even more about the skill of the designer than for traditional and perfectly symmetrical dresses that look good, IMHO. I'm really impressed with this daring creation. Everything is done so carefully and with such wonderful fabrics, and I was able to comfortably wear this all day long.

This dress was received as an alternate / extra to my original choice because the backup size wasn't available. Luckily the original dress I ordered in my 1st choice size fit well and I choose to wear it. However, I tried this dress on, as well. It was definitely a "little" tight in the midsection. I would suggest that anyone who wears it, go up an extra size to be sure. The dress is stunning but I felt like the tulle distracted from the beautiful fabric underneath.

In the photos (and many others' reviews) this dress looked fabulous-- beautiful print, unusual design. On me, it felt and looked like something Morticia Adamas might wear. On a bad day. The black tulle was much more overpowering than in the pictures, and crinkled and bunched up in most unflattering ways. I tried to make it work but it was just too off. Fortunately, my backup dress was great.

I am normally a size 0 but gained about 5 lbs traveling. The 2 was quite generous so perhaps not as form fitting and flattering but I did eat as much as I wanted. The tulle was long in front which made it tricky to navigate.

I ordered this dress because it looked pretty daring from a design perspective, but in person, it seemed almost like someone's old upholstery fabric covered over in black netting. The black netting and sequins were cool, but the fabric underneath was not as flashy as I'd hoped. And the length of the netting made it really hard to walk in.
