This is the second time I've rented a cocktail dress from Rent the Runway. It's a fantastic service! You can rent a fancy dress, rather than having to buy one that won't fit by the next year that you need it. [For reference, I'm 5'3.5", 148 lbs, 36B cup and I wore a size 12 but could have gone smaller] So, as for this dress, it was perfect for what I needed. Comfy, not too short (it was longer on me than I expected, just above my knees), pretty but modest (since I was wearing it for a work event, I didn't want anything with a revealing chest or slit up my thigh). A 10 would probably have been perfect but it wasn't available. I wore a 12 and it was roomy but just on the cusp of looking too big…I didn't have time to exchange it so it was fine. I will totally use Rent the Runway again…they're the best!

Loved the look and feel of this dress. One of my favorite rentals and I wish I could keep it! Can work for more formal affairs or just a night out. I typically wear a 4 but listened to the reviews and sized down. It fit perfectly. Highly recommend.

Fit true to size, no shaping garments necessary. The outer fabric was rough but the liner inside protected the skin except when sitting down but that was a minor concern. I'm petite (4'11") and the proportions were not an issue.

So many compliments on this gorgeous dress! Fits pretty true to size (maybe a little small?) with no stretch. I'm fairly short, so it may not work for a taller person. Lightweight but well constructed with a really nice lining that is stitched down so it doesn't ride up. It was a really excellent and lovely choice.

This is an eassssyyy dress to wear. Very comfortable, pretty and feminine. Size 10 was perfect for me (I wear a 10) and the length was perfect.

The materials and color of this dress is absolutely gorgeous--even prettier in person! The rich, deep pink and gold hues pop against the black background. The dress looks and feels expensive and elegant. Only cons: a bit scratchy without tights. The shape is a true shift so it can feel a bit shapeless, plus I do think it runs slightly large. If you are not a fan of shifts or drop waist dresses, I probably wouldn't recommend this one.

I tried this as part of my unlimited for an upcoming wedding. Super comfortable- I am a true 14 with most RTR dresses and this was big. I felt it just did not do much for me - made my waist seem bigger cause so baggy given light material. It was not formal enough for what I wanted and I also think for a younger person.

The reviews were right in that it runs large but I think that’s just the style. I ordered my regular size and it fit okay but was right in the hips and lose elsewhere. I didn’t end up wearing and returned it. I think for it to look more fit, I would have to size down. For it to look as intended, I would need to size up.

It was tighter on my hips. The way this fell it made my hip/ waist/ thigh area look wider than it actually is. Not flattering. Better for less curvy shape.
