Yes.m, the side boob is real, but if you can pull it off tastefully then this dress is on point. I wore this to a black tie wedding at a historic mansion in DC and received compliments all night.

Perfect fit! There is definitely some side boob (I'm at 34B) but with double sided tape you should be fine!

Loved this dress, it fit well. It did require some fashion tape (toupee tape works the best) to make sure my side boob stayed classy, but it was a beautiful dress. I got ton of compliments all night. The color is greener than the RTR image.

Dresss is absolutely beautiful. The fit, color fabric and neck jewels are perfection. For me the side boobage it wasn’t bad.

When I first received the dress, I was a little worried because the top seemed slightly too big. I have a larger bottom half and small bust so it is hard to find dresses that fit both. I ended up safety pinning the neck to be tighter which pulled the dress up higher and made the bust fit better as well. Like everyone else said, wardrobe tape was a must, but with a smaller bust, I never felt like I was going to be exposed and it was the perfect amount of coverage to be sexy, but still sophisticated. I only had 2 inch heels and the bottom didn't reach the ground, but I think that was due to my safety pinning. If you have a small bust and plan to pin it, I would go with the long. Overall a BEAUTIFUL dress that was so comfortable and go sooooo many compliments.

This dress fit like a glove! I’m 5’6 and about 150lbs with a very athletic build (runner & triathlete). I don’t have a tiny waste but the 6R was the perfect fit. The ‘side boob’ wasn’t too much of an issue but I did use double stick tape just to be safe. It was comfortable to sit, eat and dance in :)

As everyone else says (and you can tell from the pic), there's definitely some side boob going on. I tried using tape, but it wasn't super effective. I would still rent it again though. I wore 3"-4" heels and it was just long enough.

Sadly I wasnt able to wear this dress. I loved everything about it except that my side boob peekaboo showed from the front. Probably not good for anyone larger than a D. It was too tacky for me to wear. The color was more of a hunter than a teal and the neck beading was delicate and lovely. Beautiful dress!

This was absolutely stunning. The detail on the neckline was incredible and the cut was very sexy. You will for sure need tape as it's deep on the sides and will show side boob. Yet it is so worth it. I got a ton of compliments and did not want to take it off.

While I didn't wear this dress, I will likely rent it again! The color is rich, the beading is beautiful. As all other reviews state, the top is very narrow, so as you can see, you get some side boob... I'm a 36B, so I didn't think it looked indecent! Larger busts, beware. Pinning the neckline a little tighter or using a little fashion tape also helps hold everything in place. Also, runs long, and a *little on the small side. Backup dress; didn't wear, but once again, tremendous RTR customer service.

There was definitely a lot of side boob but I used fabric tape to keep everything from moving! It fits pretty perfect except it was a little tight around my hips but I could not move the next size up because it would have been too big up top. I was able to decide what size would be best based on all of the reviews! I'm 5'5" about 120-122 pounds- i'm a lot smaller on the top and curvier bottom. I would recomend this dress!

This dress is stunning and such a gorgeous and unique color- a great option if you have a formal affair and want to feel like a knockout. It's super flattering but the side boob action is REAL- so just prepare yourself!

I loved this dress! I wanted a size smaller so the bust would have been a bit more snug, but it was unavailable. I read the reviews beforehand and prepapred for this with a backless bra and lots of fashion tape to avoid any wardrobe malfuntions. It was worth the work! This dress was perfect for a glamorous wedding. There is definitely a lot of side exposed, but I used tape for support and secure on the front and did not have to worry about much more popping out the sides. Overall, this was true to size and beautiful, and I received countless compliments!

I wore this gown to the New Years Eve Ball at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. Perfect amount of glamour and class for this event thanks to the perfect green, and the beaded neckline. The fabric had some give and I was comfortable all night dancing and eating. I am small chested and the side cut was not too revealing, though I could see it would be on other body types. I usually wear a 0 and found this dress was true to size. I am 5'5" and with 4in heels the regular length was perfect on me. This was the perfect dress for a once in a lifetime event, and compliments abounded throughout the night!

I loves this dress! I rented it for a wedding in August. Everything other renters have mentioned about the dress is true. There is a serious, "side boob" but as long as you have a small to medium chest and are in decent shape chest wise, you'll be fine. I wore nipple covers, but no tape was needed. I did need to wear a close pin on the top choker part of the dress to make it fit me correctly, and I definitely wore spanx under the dress to help cover up my stomach rolls or any unpleasant lines I wanted to hide. Very comfortable to dance in. I didn't receive any compliments unfortunately, but I loved wearing this and I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind having to take part in a few beauty and tailoring tricks.

This dress is really flattering but as others have mentioned, the side boob is real. Nothing two strips of fashion tape can't fix!! The neck detailing makes accessorizing easy (aka no real need!) and the open back is great. LOVE IT!!

I originally reserved a different less expensive dress but after consulting some girlfriends decided to change my order to the Marchesa Notte. First, I will say the process to change my order was flawless. I used the chat through the phone app to change my order and it was quick, efficient, and the consultant was patient and helpful. When I received the dress I tried on the 2 and it was perfect but the zipper was near impossible to zip up. The size 4 looked/fit just as good as the 2 and didn't give me any issues zipping up so I decided to stick with the 4. I have to admit I was a little worried about the side boob situation, but as the 1st time in 9 years since dressing up for a formal event (my own wedding) I decided to take the chance and I'm so happy I did! I wore this to a military ball and it was not at all inappropriate. With the right styling and accessories this is an elegant look for any formal occasion. The dress is fully lined so you have a fair amount of underwear options. I used nipple shields and double-seed tape just in case I had any wardrobe malfunctions but I was so comfortable that a slip of a boob was the least of my concerns the whole night. The length was also perfect. I am 5'4 and wore 4-inch heels and my feet barely showed. The slit in the back of the dress provided ease of movement and I had no problems walking/dancing. No one had anything like this dress at the ball! I am so happy with my experience on RTR and will definitely rent again! Thank you RTR!!

Absolutely obsessed with the mermaidy shells at the neckline! I love this color and the fabric felt thick and beautiful - definitely hid any bumps much more than I was expecting it to. It was definitely small on my chest (lots of sideboob), but I think a larger size would've fixed that. It was snug, but didn't feel too small. It hugged me just right and was very flattering! This gown is a great way to pull off a darker color in the warmer months!

This dress was beautiful in person. The neckline was perfect because I didn't need to wear jewelry. The material was thick so it didn't show bumps and lines underneath. There is a slight issue with side boob but I used fashion tape to hold it down. I honestly wouldn't have even noticed the side boobage had I not worn it to a work event. I got tons of compliments on it and wish I could wear it again and again.

First, let me just be clear that the side-boob warning was NO JOKE. I am not well endowed in that department so it was a non-issue for me, but you are not going to be able to wear this dress without tape. This dress fit very well. I am 5'7 125lbs and wore a 2L. With 4 inch heels and it was the perfect length! I am small in the bust, 34B, and needed a little fashion tape for the side boob. It stayed in place all night and was a fabulous dress! Thick and great material.

Love the emerald green of this dress. The beadwork was a little worn, but you couldn't tell. I have a small bust (32 A/B) so I didn't have any issues with side-boob. I do advise double stick tape and a pair of pasties if you want to avoid any malfunctions. Other than that this is such an elegant silhouette and was so perfect for the Gala I wore it to.

I was worried about the "side boob" on this dress but with a little double-sided tape, it was not a problem. I also got nipple guards as it was below freezing. The beads on the front were gorgeous and I received tons of compliments while wearing this dress. I needed help getting the zipper up and buttoning the halter. I'm almost 5'11" and with 2.5" heels, the dress was just above the ground. I'd wear this dress again in a heartbeat.

Dress fit true to size and is cut in on sides so tape is helpful. Color is gorgeous and the beading at the neckline is actual beading and looks great. I'm 5'6" and with 2.5" heels the toes just barely peeked out. Great style for athletic build and with a smaller chest.

I exchanged this dress at a rtr location and definitely am happy I did! It was so comfortable and beautiful. I got many compliments from people I didn't know. There was no size tag on the dress and the hanger said 2, but online it says 4R. I'm usually a 0R or a 2R. Goes to show you should always get the free extra size to make sure. All in all, it's about how you feel in it. Definitely needs fashion tape if you're worried about side cleavage.

I ended up getting this dress because my original purchase became unavailable at the last minute. I was a little hesitant at first but once I put it on all was forgotten. . I am very small up top so the tape was very necessary. I love the beaded embroidered necklace. Some of the jewels looked a little damaged but nothing you could see unless you knew it was there. I would definitely rent it again

This was my backup dress for a black-tie wedding and I'm actually really happy that my original choice was not available once I put this on. It's really slimming, and cut worked well for my broad shoulders, and it was really comfortable. Loved the necklace detail -- was beautiful with the gold, pearl, and crystal details and looked fancy and not gaudy or over the top. The back is a very low back, so you won't be able to wear a bra, so keep that in mind. The 2R was the right length for me, and I loved the dress so much that I didn't want the night to be over, nor did I want to return it. The color was beautiful for fall/winter. Really happy with this choice!!

The color of this dress was so gorgeous and the detail on the neck was beautiful. I did not end up wearing this dress because it showed quite a bit of skin in the back and on the sides, and that did not fit my event. I would have happily worn this to a different event. The fabric felt light when I put it on and I think it would be comfortable to wear for a while. However, the buttons around the neck were SO difficult to unfasten. When I tried it on, it took me quite a bit of effort to fasten and unfasten the buttons.

This was my backup dress, because I was nervous to try a column dress with my curvy hips. It definitely runs large; I usually wear a 2-4, and it only came in 2R, which was way too long for my 5'3" height, even with 3" heels. I was tripping on it all night. But I got so many compliments on it: the color, the pearl neckline (even though it was missing some), the open back and slit, flattering waistline...I felt beautiful. I'm a 34B so I didn't have a problem with the side boob; however, I would've been totally naked if I hadn't pinned up the neck about 2" and fashion tape the entire side, which bubbled it a little. I wore Spanx and petals as a bra, and those held everything in place too. I only rated it 4 stars because it was so large: order a size down!

As mentioned in other reviews, the top is a bit challenging due to the design. The 2L size top portion fit better because I am a low B cup size but I opted to go with the 4L to compensate for my wider hips and booty. To remedy the problem I wore sticky bra cups and double stick fashion tape along the sides and at the back of my neck to keep the dress smooth and movement free. It worked like a charm. I was comfortable all night dancing and moving around. The true color is more dark green than teal but gorgeous none the less. The open back was sexy. I have a smaller chest so this dress was the perfect fit for me.

I absolutely LOVED this dress and received compliments all night - even got some texts after posting a photo on FB asking where it was from. The crepe material is so light and comfortable but caution - the side boob you hear about in all the reviews is REAL. I have a smaller chest so I thought maybe it wouldn't be too bad on me/it would be manageable but it was still something I had to keep in the back of my mind. I don't generally need much support (I didn't wear a bra only pedals) but even with fashion tape I was a bit worried about a slip in front of the grandmas. Also, because of how its cut the hanger straps tend to sneak their way out (see second photo). These are the only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 - hate to have to be thinking about your dress behaving all night. All of this was OK though since I wore it to a fancy wedding where I knew I'd be doing a lot more smiling and shaking hands than dancing. But if you're a wild dancer, are a little more chesty or like to wave your arms in the air like you just don't care this might not be the dress for you.
