Fashion-forward but classy
Great tailoring/high end garment. Love the sleeves and neck-line. Raw thickish silk. Soft black, rather than black-black. I think this item would work best on tall with no-curves. The dress fit me well everywhere except the back hip/butt area...where it was a tad too tight for me and pulled the great shape out of line...so I returned without wearing. One size up would fix that issue but might make it too big elsewhere. This dress could be dressed up or down.

Fantastic high-end LBD
This dress is luxe and totally fantastic – the kind of real luxury piece that I am here for. It’s understated and elegant, but the puff sleeve and draped back make it really special. I wore it to work and then theater and and then out dancing, but also wore it to an Easter church service, and while it’s fairly dressy for me it still worked for a range of everyday and special occasion applications. The fabric is extremely high quality, but is a coarser/heavyweight silk crepe so it has almost a linen-like texture that makes it less fussy and allows it to be worn more casually. A few fit notes. The length is quite conservative – fell just below my knee. The slit in front was low, but if your bust size allows wearing a low-cut bra that is more flattening than push-up it will reveal your cleavage or lack thereof in a demure way. The sleeves are voluminous and a little difficult to stuff into certain coat sleeves so if you need to wear any outerwear make sure you have something that isn’t too tight (a regular light wool winter coat was constricting but still worked for me – a leather jacket or blazer probably would not fit over the sleeves). The body shape of the dress is straight and not fitted – the tightest part of it is the hip/thigh since it is truly straight (or maybe even slightly tapered) from bust to hem. I would say the size is forgiving and if you are between you probably will be safe sizing to the smaller of your two sizes, but French sizing does tend to be a bit small so on balance if you are using the American conversion I’d go with your true size.

Gorgeous, classic but not boring
I rented this for my 40th birthday. It was comfortable and easy to wear. The neck is a little low, but with a lace bra it looked good. I wore this with black tights amd black ankle boots. The dress has an interesting cut and looked great with a statement earring.

Loved this dress. Ordered a size 8. Usually, I'm a 6 but was worried about the hips. Loved this dress. Felt super chic and modern.

The next day, I was asked if I was the woman in the pretty black dress!
I wore this to a business reception. It is well made. I'm large busted. It's very loose in the midsection, so it is probably best suited for someone without an hour glass figure.

Not your aveage black dress. Impressive and sexy classy, very feminine without revealing the body.
for summer the dress can be a little too warm.
