I felt amazingly retrochic. It's very tight on the top so I'd suggest sizing up but only if you have a larger bust. Compliments all day :)

I'm 5'6 and a half, 150 lbs, 30 waist, 39.5 hips and 36D. I actually ended up liking this dress. It's very professional and in its own way classy with elegance. It still have me feeling the vintage vibe, but I liked it. I did get complements on this dress. I also liked that I decided to wear blue wedges instead of black or red. I am 52, 5'5'', and weigh around 150 lb. This dress is very stunning! However, I recommend going a size up with your backup size. The top area of the dress is very very tight. There is a belt near the waist that I could not snap closed without it opening up. I therefore had to tuck the belt in the pocket (it was hidden very well, being that the belt does not detach from the dress). Other than that, I loved the dress!

The fit is perfect, the fabric is thick and soft, and it hits right below the knee! Perfect for moving around without being self-conscious about its length. Appropriate for a cocktail party or slightly formal affair.

This dress is gorgeous - so beautiful, well made, and with a fun swish. I was a little worried that it would be too S&M for work (I guess because of the collar), but it wasn't at all. It is much more 1940s than dungeon. I will say it fit, but Martin Grant's clothes definitely don't leave room for error. I have a large ribcage so it was a bit tight, and if I had a larger bust it probably wouldn't have really worked at all. A++

I typically wear between a 10 and a 12. Based on the reviews, I picked my backup size a size smaller. The 10 fit perfect. The 8 was waay to small.

I wore this dress to a formal work event, and it was perfect! I read that it runs tight in the chest and back area so I sized up, which worked great. I couldn't believe the retail price of the dress but when you see it in person it makes sense, it looks and feels expensive. I felt like a movie star in it and will definitely rent it again.

This didn't fit my top at all so I had return but I'll try a bigger size next time as this one of the most beautiful dresses I've rented. It's elegant, Flowy and sophisticated

Slight sheen on the material, great cut, interesting without being too showy. Runs small. I usually a 6/8 and I couldn't even zip the 8...very small in the ribcage and I have a small bust. I'd size up 1 or even 2 but definitely rent.

Unfortunately I ended up not wearing this piece because it was too small. Would recommend sizing up if you are looking at this piece.

The dress has a strangely small waist. It is beautifully made. Order up and enjoy!

Love the dress but it run small so was not able to wear it. it is tight in the chest area but great materials and fit otherwise.

I loved the material and length of this dress, which is very elegant and classic. The tie-across belt accentuates an hour-glass figure in a very flattering way, but I found the straps to be somewhat annoying and distracting, since they didn't sit quite right. There were little flaps that hung on the sides from the belt that I kept trying to tuck in. Still got lots of compliments.

Did not actually wear it because it was way too small and didn't want to take a change going 1 size up. I normally wear a 4 to 6. If something is reviewed as running small I usually get a 6 and it works. I did that in this case and couldn't even zip it up all the way or clip the belt. To give reference to how small this is, I can wear Monique Lhuillier size 4, Shoshanna size 4, slate and willow size 6 if structured. I would recommend going up at least 1 size and get 2 sizes up for backup. Aside from fit, nice quality with light fabric but still good volume in the skirt. Very chic and more on the conservative side.

Size up, especially if you are big busted, it is difficult to zip up. The straps that cross the chest are a bit loose, they don't hug the body as it shows in the photo. All that said, it is very classy and unique dress that can go from daytime to evening.

The belt around the waist would fit my 5 year old grandaughter. If I get a bigger size, the wrap around the neck is not going to fit.

I loved the vintage look and full skirt of this dress! When it arrived, the fabric was really nice quality, but there was no way, no how, I was going to get it to zip over my rib cage. I even rented a size up (I would typically be a 38/US8, but I rented a 40/US10, and it was just impossibly small in the bodice. I was so disappointed! I would recommend sizing up AT LEAST two sizes if you wanted to try this one.
