No elastic in the denim but roomy in waist and hip so very comfortable for all day wear. A little baggier in the leg than I expected but I think that's just the style and I ended up liking it a lot. Cropped length, might be short on you if you are very tall. Elastic waistband is very comfortable but cuter with a belt.

I wanted to try the ballin Jean so I gave these a try. Not wild about the elastic waist. I went with my regular size as they are supposed to be baggy. If I had sized down, the look would not have been the same and the rise too short for me

I love the style of these pants but a medium was far too large. I'm a medium in Zara pants so tight these would be ok. I still write them twice but they were quite baggy. Just ordered them in a small.

Other reviewers really complained about the sizing of these, but based on the pictures, I think they fit true to size, they are just designed to be big and baggy! That’s what I was looking for, so I love them! My only complain is that the pocket lining isn’t fully hidden, but you mostly can’t tell that, at least from straight on

I got my normal size and while they it ok in the waist, the elastic band was aggressively unflattering in the hips. Bigger is better with balloon fit pants!

I’m 5’2” and these jeans fit perfectly. The elastic waistband is a huge plus as well! Comfy but stylish mom jeans!

While I did feel a little frumpy wearing these so often, they were definitely high quality and felt in style. The waist is a little stretchy and was perfect for me as I was in my late first trimester.

These are the most amazing jeans ever. I went down 1 size (like all of Madewell sizing) these are so perfect, comfy and SO flattering!

In love with these. I usually wear a 6-8, or 28-29. The medium in these were a bit too baggy. The small fits perfectly. Looks like they were made for me. I'm only 5'1 but this was a great ankle length. Would probably be cropped on an average to tall person. I'll def be purchasing!

Waist was a bit too big

These are not the most flattering jeans in the world. Let’s get that out of the way. However, they are unbelievably comfy and give off cute mom-jean vibes. I wore these while working from home then went on a flight and I was never uncomfortable. The waistband could have fit me better, I was pulling the pants up quite a bit, but that did contribute to my comfort.

Love the cute but runs large. Will rent again but will try a smaller size.

I wasn't sure about the sizing so I went with the recommended size. Wow, do these run large! I wore them anyway with a belt, but I think I will rent a smaller size next time.

Love these jeans, but will need to size down for next time. I am short/curvy and usually wear a 26 or 27 in Madewell jeans. The S was too large in the waist.

I’m too short and too curvy. They fit but did not flatter. They made me look shorter and wider.

I have large hips and this isn't for those with curvy hips. The pocket insides were peeking and you could see the white insides. So I had to wear a long shirt which defeated the purpose of the high waisted effect. Oh well.

I enjoyed these while I was bloated and looking for comfort and style. Wouldn't win any dates with these pants, but they did the trick for what I wanted. I'm a large 2/small 4 and I probably could have done the xsmall

I regularly have this problem with Madewell’s sizing guide. It’s not consistent so items either end up way too big or too small.

Not for those with wide hips. The pockets wouldn’t sit flat. Frustrating. Didn’t wear.

As some others have said, this is cute and comfy but not quite the look I was hoping for.

The denim was quality. However, the sizing is off and I couldn't wear. I am typically a size 12 in denim and the large was about two sizes too big.

Too tight on waist and large everywhere else. Didn’t like the button closure.

I did not wear them and will return as I didn't realize they were capris

I have a pair of the Madewell Paper Bag shorts and regular jean shorts in this size, so I was confident they'd fit. Unfortunately these are too tight across the hips to have the desired relaxed look. I'd recommend sizing up if available.
