Love this dress and received lots of compliments on it as well.

I really liked this dress. I think it could work for any age group. I wore it to brunch, and a baby shower. At times I felt like I could be a school teacher in the 50s or so due to the style. I think I ordered up bc of the dress details and I'm glad I did as it fit perfectly. It has pockets, and is actually very light. The hips of this aren't very flattering and actually puff out a bit. If I didn't use the unlimited closet, I wouldn't have rented this bc it's not my typical style, I'm glad I did!

This is another great Marni piece - a basic floral shirt-dress, but the shirring around the skirt at the sides gives it almost a Victorian feel. It's subtle but the skirt is fuller and a little more formal and costume-like than a typical shirt dress would be. In terms of fit, it's on the longer side and because of the pleating there is a lot of volume to the skirt. The top is fitted the way a dress shirt would be but not especially snug. Someone noted that the buttons are widely spaced but I didn't really find that to be a problem - there is a lot of space between the two buttons where the belt goes, but if you tie the belt snugly that holds it together as if there were another button there.

This dress fit perfectly and was true to size, even across my chest. It was a lovely, vibrant pattern and the swingy skirt was quite fun. A few oddities though that kept this from 5 stars: 1) large distances between buttons- I've got it safety pinned because the gap falls in the most inconvenient spot. 2) the weird hip ruffles that you get instead of pockets. They are super unflattering and I tucked them under the whole day for a better silhouette- thus the slimmer main photo. I still really like the dress, but it has some style issues

This dress is beautiful, fit great, felt fancy, very comfortable, and actually cinches at the waist with the very long tie. HOWEVER, there are huge gaps between each button that gaps open every time I sit or move and my chest (which is really not that big) is exposed even when standing. I wish I had realized this before wearing it to work and having to cover myself with my coat all day. It exposes your chest, stomach, and thighs all at once. Very disappointing. If you must rent it, be prepared with safety pins.

The only con—where are the pockets?! This dress feels like it has pockets, is begging to have pockets, alas...no pockets. But the dress beautiful, I did not have the chest gap issue others mentioned. Other than the lack of pockets, recommend it.

Elegant and fun but not for girls with big hips Ruffles make it look bigger

I usually find short dresses very flattering but this one has weird ruffles going up the hips and a thin tie around the waist. Mine also came ripped which was a shame.
