European design, wonderful fabric & flow!
This dress is so unusual and amazing! The fabric flaps are made of like a heavy canvas-type material. The bodice is a very light material, almost gauzy, in the same pattern. The back has just the single button at the top. The design is stunning and I felt gorgeous in this dress. I liked it so much I ended up wearing to my sister's shower as well as for a ballet. It was a big hit! I would definitely wear this dress again, elegant and flirty!

Truly unique
All my female friends complimented the dress, and they told me how it looked even nicer from the back when I was walking; one even said it was worthy of runway. So I guess this is a namesake experience. Meanwhile, my husband kept telling me it was a strange dress, and I needed a belt :)

Fashion forward. I got so many compliments!
Fit a bit loose but the tie in the back helped. Its the kind of dress that everyone looks at. Very comfortable to wear. I didn't know the edges were unfinished so there were some loose threads and my chair kept rolling over the longer side. I would wear out next time. I didn't wear a bra because it showed in the back but the dress is thick enough that their was no nipple visibility. It was not too long on me either!

So interesting!
Really unusual dress. The "over" skirt is heavy and thick. The "under" skirt is thin and light, almost see-through. The construction is fascinating. The overskirt is open in the back as shown in the photos. The black ribbon attaches to either side of the overskirt, so it provides very minimum shaping. Overall, even with the ribbon, the look is loose and boxy. Be prepared to iron for a long time. A steamer won't do it - the overskirt material is waaay too thick. Compliments everywhere I went, people stopping me in restaurants, etc. A lot of fun!

Fun, interesting dress - or what I've come to expect from Marni
Fabulous flutter open back with black bow detail. I would caution that it's not the most flattering silhouette, but that seemed like an ok compromise to wear a piece this unique. The dress WILL need ironing/steaming before wearing.

Showstopper. I literally got 6 compliments on the 40 meter walk to the restuarant.
The fit on this dress is definitely unique -- it is not fitted and definitely boxy. The drop waist and ripped materials look like you are getting draped in a fashion show -- and might not be finished. The back requires a very low back bra or just tucking yours behind the ribbon (that is what I did). This isn't a dress that will emphasize your curves or make you feel thin. However -- it makes you feel awesome because it is just so unique. It also is great for a super hot day!

Unique dress but runs big
This dress came slightly wrinkled but that wasn't the big problem. I found this dress to run large. I am normally a size 4 which I ordered a size 42 in this but I found it to be big throughout the entire dress. It's almost like two pieces. The back portion zips up to a skirt then the top portion buttons in the upper back that drapes the material over the entire back. There's also a tie which you can cinch in the underlying skirt in. This being said the overlying draping material was big and I did try belting it but it just looked okay. I'm certain the size 40 would look much better and this isn't exactly the greatest dress for my body type (5'2 athletic build) but I still wanted to try.

Beautiful, interesting design. Long length if you are petite.
This dress will get compliments and questions! It is so interesting. It does wrinkle and isn't super wind friendly, so better for when you aren't doing a lot of sitting. The length was long and needed heels to look good on me.

Loved this dress, very flattering and forgives any bumps or rolls.
There is an open back element to keep in mind so I had to wear with cups on instead of a bra so the strap wouldn't show.

Who is the fairest one of all?
Seriously, I am so sorry if anyone else wanted to rent this. I am not returning it! Well, maybe I'll change my mind on that but it is BY FAR the most well made, stylish dress from RTR I've received in my 6 mths of Unlimited. The fabric, the cut, the fit, the artistry of the design...I adore it! Wearing it to a luncheon now with flat black patent sandals and feel it's a perfect outfit. Love the front with its "torn" shape...but the back is everything! I'm 5'10 and can see it might be dumpy if you are not tall, but if over 5'8 rent it for sure!! THIS is style...Thus the price tag.

Such a great print and unusual cut!
I got so many compliments on this dress! You can't wear a bra with it unless you wear a nubra, but I opted to just go braless since the fabric is thick. Just be careful if you're walking outside while it's windy - the dress will blow open and expose you in the front! I had to hold the dress closed while I walked around the city :)

Rented for a friend's wedding in April
ADORE THIS DRESS. Truly adore it. I wore this to a late afternoon wedding in April. The fabric, cut, pattern and color, fit, all are just amazing. Great coverage while still being fun and unique. Have never been so complimented on a dress outside of my own wedding gown! :) If you are on the fence about renting, DO IT!

Nice dress
This dress fits well and is unusual looking in a chic way (the way that Marni is). I returned it because it was damaged but would rent it again.

I missed on this-my bad
Crazy-amazing dress. I know better, but still went too large for this designer. Love every. single. thing about this dress. Beware: the back is a free flowing element and excellent posture is a must for this to work. Will order again to wear in proper size!!

Needs to come with instructions...
Beautiful dress, design, fabric, detail, etc. However, impossible to figure out how to put it on and wear it. :) I didn't take time to figure it out, but I'm sure there must be a guide somewhere...

Heavy fabric
I really like this dress but I should've sized down as it was very loose around the waist. The outer panel was a bit heavy and it drapes over the back of a lighter part of the skirt. The front skirt gave me the impression that it was accidentally ripped apart, but it was actually part of the design.

Really pretty pattern and fun design, but really only would work for someone very tall and thin - it completely overwhelmed me with fabric. The back flaps are just kind of weird

Was excited about this dress but it didn't work out.
It was tight in the chest. I'm a 34D. The pattern is pretty but the layers of fabric hid my shape and made me look bulky. I'm also 5'2" and the length made me look shorter. It would probably work better for a taller straight shape. Sad it didn't work out. Love my unlimited membership, it allows me the opportunity to be daring.
