Gorgeous dress, but I rented it too big
I adore this dress, but as you can see in the photo I rented it a size too big. I was worried about it not fitting. I'm a 6 in mall brands, 8 in designer, and I wore a 42 in this dress... I really should have gone with the 40. Will definitely rent again in the right size because I loved the dress so much.

Perfection
I finally got this dress after trying to get it last summer. And it was worth the wait. I would buy if not so expensive. Unique, super comfortable, flattering, quality. Worked perfectly on my height. Usually a 6 sometimes an 8 and the 40 was perfect.

Fun dress with elegant details
Loved this dress. It's light, flowy and feminine. You could dress it up or down. Low cut, subtle side rouching. There is an inside sash that I think is supposed to hang down for a cool asymetrical element but I looped it through the bust since I'm short and it almost touched the ground. I would rent again in a smaller size. It's really roomy in the waist but super comfortable.

Statement work dress- fashion yet appropriate w a vintage twist.
I wore this dress for a very important work meeting. I felt so confident in it. The side fathers are very flattering. It ran a bit big on me but still was able to wear it. Highly recommend this dress!

Perfect day to evening dress!
Wore this with a tan belt and white sneakers during the day, and changed to black heeled sandals for the evening in NYC. Love it!! Would rent again. The ruching on the side was a little off (maybe from dry cleaning) but the look is asymmetrical so it still looked great. I am a 2 or 4 and wore the 38 which was so comfortable.

Chic, flattering, effortless
Oh my goodness I love this dress. I rented it for a date night at the symphony orchestra and I felt so incredibly chic and fashion forward. I was a bit worried about this size (from previous reviews), but I order my normal size and it fit perfectly. While I could have worn one size down (36), I actually really like the looser flowy feel- I don't think this dress is meant to be skin tight. It is really versatile and could certainly be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The strip of fabric that hangs down didn't really work for me so I looped it up though the neckline and made a half bow (which looked great). As someone with a smaller chest and fewer curves, I definitely recommend this for similar body types. I'm not used to wearing ruffles or frills on dresses, but the color and fit of this is so subdued that it totally works. Effortless chic!

Stylist Review
This dress was super cute! I usually wear a size 8. As this dress does run in European sizes, I chose a size 44. It did run a little large, I would recommend sizing down for a back up size. Although it had no stretch, it was super comfortable throughout and was very roomy in the bust area. It would work great for any cup size. I am 5'3" , it was about 5 inches below my knee, a perfect tea length dress. I wore this with standard undergarments and it worked great. Perfect for any body type!

Beautiful Fabric But Odd Fit
Absolutely size down as this runs large. The fabric and colors are lovely. I even liked the long piece that went to the floor. The only part I didn't like was the poofy gathers at the waist. There was too much extra fabric & it looked odd to me - but I wore it anyway. It would actually be good for anyone trying to camouflage a little tummy.

Cool dress, but runs huge!
This dress is gorgeous, I love the print, the cut, even the little hanging piece (you could tuck it in if you don't)... but it runs really large. I am a true size 8, I even size up to 10 in some designers, and it was super large on me. I would have sized down at least 1 if not 2 sizes. That being said, it didn't stop me from wearing it... it just wasn't super flattering.

one of my favs
This is the second time i've rented this dress... i may end up buying it. I currently have the 40 at home but IF i decide to return it and rent a third time, i'll try the 38 because the 40 is just a teensy big. still totally wearable though... it's slightly low cut, but not inappropriately so. and even at 5'2", the length isn't too long on me, though definitely longer than in the photos. i love the 40s feel mixed with the hint of avant-garde with the asymmetric hem and gathers at the hip. love this piece.

Gorgeous and comfortable
This is such a great dress- I highly recommend it. It is so comfortable and looks like it is supposed to fit kind of loose. The fabric is both silky and substantial. I wore this both to a wine tasting and to a friend's rehearsal dinner, and this looks good with a jacket or sweater if needed. I want to rent this dress again. I did tie the long strip that hangs down into a bow so that I hung right under the hem (I was worried i would step on it).

As others have stated this dress runs big, I sized down to a 38(2) and it fit great! The weather got a little cold for me so I ended up not wearing it but I will consider renting again because it looked very nice on!

Lovely dress. I have a rule about wearing outfits as they were designed to be worn by the designer. However, I had to break the rule on this piece. The strip that fell underneath the dress was odd. I ended up bringing it up and tying it around my neck instead. It looked way better!

I loved this piece. This was a great style to wear at work casually with a pair of slides or more formally with a pair of heels for an event or conference. I was initially worried about the deep v-neckline but was surprised to find that it was not too revealing at all. The fit was very true to size and was very flattering. I highly recommend!

Lovely dress and very feminine style!
I rented this dress for a semi-dressed up concert at a university, it was very comfortable and looked very feminine. The dress does run big but I like the loose effect since we had a big lunch before the concert, This extra material that hangs down was pretty long and I wore heels and it wasn't necessarily a problem but at one point, I tucked it into my spanxs. I would love to keep this dress! I will definitely rent again.

My husband can't stop talking about it :)
I've been doing RTR for 9 months now, and this is the first dress my husband has said: you should keep this! The dress is boho yet professional, relaxed yet flattering, and altogether contemporary. The only only nitpick is the asymmetrical bit that hangs down - hangs down a lot. I knotted it to prevent myself from tripping over it and I was wearing 4.5"+ heels. It runs a bit large, but not so large that it looks sloppy, and it nips at the waist quite nicely. It's a bit out of my budget to keep, but I'll definitely rent again!

Beautiful but not quite right
May try to rent the size 4 and see how that suits. The 6 was too roomy in a dowdy way and the fabric ruffle thing that hangs down just didn't seem right (I'm 5'3 and it almost hit the floor)

Great but HUGE!!!
It is a beautiful dress but like a few othe3r Marnis I have worn, it is ginormous. I wore the 4 and I simply swam in it. This made it completely inappropriate for work but I wore it for a day of errands with the hubs and it was perfect. Loose and flowing it made a few hours of running around in the 85 degree heat very (stylishly!) bearable.

Didn't like it at first, but it grew on me
Trying on this dress for the first time, I didn't love it. I gave it a second try and wound up wearing it to work (didn't feel confident enough in it to wear it on a date, as I had initially planned). It was somewhere on the spectrum of okay to cute. Definitely runs large - I can get away with a 4 a lot of the time, even though my go-to size is a 6. I sized down to the 4, but probably would have felt it was more flattering in a 2. The side drape was weird, but I pulled it through the front like another reviewer had recommended and was happiest with it worn like that.

Beautiful silk, loose fit
UPDATE: I rented the 36 after trying the 38 and the fit was much better (though still loose) and hit my lower calf. I pinned the sash underneath so it wouldn't drag, but otherwise loved the dress so much, I wore it to several events. I recommend ordering down at least one size. ______________________ I keep wanting to wear Marni, as I love its beautiful fabrics and avant-garde silhouettes, but I've had a hard time finding the right style and fit. The last dress I tried was a size 36 and miniscule, so I ordered this in a 38 and was absolutely swimming in it. I liked the asymmetrical ruching, and the light silk fabric was beautiful, but I found the long piece in the front to be a little too long for my 5'4" frame (had the dress fit, I probably would've tucked the hanging piece under).

If You're A Pear This One Won't Work
This dress looked like it had potential. Thought I could make it work for some occasions I had coming up. Once I tried it one though, realized there was ruching in the hip/thigh area. As a pear- ish woman, all i can say is ~ Yikes! If you're built more straight/narrow, this is *probably* the dress for you!

Pretty and soft dress, runs large
I wore it as planned to a graduation event, but it did not fit well , it runs large. Also the piece that hangs down touched the top of my foot so it was awkward, so I tied it in a bow under the dress and did not let it show. Might try it again in a smaller size.

This is a very large size 40!
This dress is gorgeous! I was so excited to wear. I am 5'3" and 113 lbs and can wear any size between a 0-4 so I decided to give the 40 a try. Marni is Italian so that should translate to a 4, no? Unfortunately I was swimming in this dress so just know - it's a really big 40! Beautiful beautiful dress. Can't wait till they get a 38 or 36 in!!!

Weird fit and design
I don't know how this dress could be so different in the photos and then in real life. I've tried on Marni dresses before and had no issues so I don't think the brand as a whole is problematic. But this dress was weird. It was huge on me but the odd part was that the long flowing piece was so long that it dragged on the floor! And I'm not all that short - I'm 5'5" and have never had a problem like this. So back the dress went.
