I am 5'6" and weigh 165lbs. I have a curvy body but im also very athletic and have muscle. This dress hugs all the right places and is a little forgiving in the tummy area if you plan on eating a big meal while wearing it. I normally wear either a 6 or an 8 in dresses. My hips and butt are pretty big so I went with the 8 to fit that. The top was a little big but I just used some fashion tape to make sure it didnt fall. The hem is tight and restricts range of motion. Not a good dress if youre planning on doing a lot of dancing. Overall the dress was stunning and I got a LOT of compliment.

It was a little tight around the ribs but other than that it fit great.

I wore this for my kids prom night. It's flattering in all areas Especially if your a curvy girl like me. Best part was there is a built in bra. I didn't need one but I did use some fashion tape for the top. Got compliments all night!

I'm a pretty solid size 6 w/ a large chest so did find the top to be extra tight, but at least didn't risk it falling down!

The dress arrived in perfect timimg. I am a usual 4 and I had to get an 8 because that is all that was left. It did fit big but not as bad as what I was expecting. It hugged curves and was very classy. 5 '3" 147lbs

I requested both sizes 4 and 6. The 4 was definitely tight in the hips (I have 40 inch hips & 27 inch waist), but the size 6 zipper would not stay up as there is not metal clasp and I am a size 34b up top so it was too loose. I ended up wearing the size 4, which although tighter than I'd like, fit like a glove. The material is nice and thick, so no need for spanks or worrying about your panty line showing. I would rent again.

I went with the size 6. My favorite rental by far. The dress fit perfectly and the color was gorgeous. Will rent again!

Everyone loved this dress! My husband wants me to buy it! The length hit in just a right spot for me which is sometimes touch as I am 5'2". It was a little snug around the rib cage area so I would suggest maybe ordering a 2nd size up just in case. Beautiful detail. Loved it!

This dress was perfect for a wedding in a coastal town of Maine! The fit was perfect but I did notice the top part was a little lose for my smaller chest - although it was an easy fix by safety pinning my strapless bra to the inside and I didn't have to bother with the dress the entire night! I was able to dance and walk fine - stairs a bit tough but a sideways up and down helped! Fantastic, classy and unique dress! Would rent again!

This dress was very classic and elegant. It transitions well from day to evening. The wedding I attended started at 5 pm and went well into evening. Got lots of compliments on this dress. My only suggestion would be for RTR to sew on a clasp at the top where zipper ends to hold zipper in place. It tended to roll down a bit and I believe a small clasp would fix this issue.

I absolutely adored this dress and got compliments all night long! The material is nice and thick, and the dress looks very expensive. It's super form fitting and sexy but the length keeps it appropriate. The fit was tough for me. The 6 fit, but I couldn't sit down comfortably. So I went with the 8, but then it was pretty big on top. I made do by wearing a strapless bra and using a bit of dress tape. If you are chestier though, you could definitely go braless as there are cups sewn in. All in all, I absolutely recommend this dress!

This dress was a perfect fit. I was very skeptical with it at first and also was nervous about the cut. When I got the dress, i paired it up with pink sandales, carried a pink shawl and a bright pink purse. This was made in an effort to brighten up the dark color of the dress in an effort to pass for a wedding. Overall the fit was true to size. The dress slipped a bit when I sat down however it was not uncomfortable. I do want to highlight that the bottom of the dress does not offer much room for large steps (climbing up/down stairs). Even going to the bathroom requires the dress to be taken off instead of lifted. Overall, I do recommend the dress for a classic, elegant look!

I received so many compliments on this dress! It is subtle but so sexy. It's classic, yet different. There is serious bones in the waist of the dress that helps lift the bust for a sexy peek-a-boo look over the top, and smooths it the waist. My only complaint is the bones in the dress did dig into my waist. I'm short waisted so it could have just been me, but I did wear shape wear so it didn't hurt. However, if it was not for the bones poking me, I did not have to wear a thing. Very flattering!

This dress is beautiful. I wore it to a formal wedding and it was perfect. It was just a tad loose on the top and very difficult to pull up past my hips. I had to unzip the dress to use the restroom. Received compliments all night on the dress.

Dress fit true to size, and while I usually hate wearing strapless dresses (bc I always feel like they will fall down), I didn't have any problems with this one. The length was perfect for an evening wedding, and the button detail and asymmetrical top were so unique. Received tons of compliments all night! Love this dress, would 100% rent again!

Wow, this dress is amazing. It transported me back to the golden age of Hollywood - I felt so glamorous and got the compliments to confirm it. Great for hourglass figures - though gals with smaller busts (like me) will need a couple of pieces of fashion tape to keep the top from drooping. Take the tape with you in your purse to reapply after bathroom visits - this dress only goes down, not up. Very form-fitting but very comfortable; hugs in all the right places. Paired with 3 inch heels.

I loved this dress so much, it does run a little small but hugs all the right places ! Everyone seemed to love it as much as I did.

Pros: Flattering hug-like fit. Great material and interesting design. It's sexy and classy at the same time. Cons: A little hard to move around in because of the length (I felt like a geisha moving around) but sitting and dancing was fine.

This was my backup dress that was chosen by a RTR stylist after my original dress choice fell through, and I wish I had had another occasion to wear this to (I wore the backup size of my original dress). Fits like a glove, with thick, slightly stretchy fabric. It smooths your silhouette and is very comfortable. You couldn't do acrobatics in this dress but it's comfortable to walk in and would be fine for dancing. The asymmetrical top and buttons are nice details, giving it a retro feel. Could definitely be worn without a bra (for up to a C cup at least). Will definitely be renting this for my next ocassion.

This dress was amazing! All night long I got compliments on it. It is VERY dark blue and almost looks black at times. Also, it's tapered at the knee so you stride is shortened. If you have bigger hips like me (35.5) it will be very snug. I was worried it was going to rip but she held up all night. Wish I could rent it again!

This dress is perfect and I'm actually sad to be returning it. The neckline makes a statement as soon as you enter the room and the fabric lays perfectly over curves. I gave birth about 10 months ago and still haven't made it back to my pre-birth weight (I know, I know) but the cinched in waist on this dress made me feel incredibly sexy. This was my first rent the runway experience and I'm glad to say they have a made me a believer!

Got a lot of compliments on this form fitting dress, but I'm a larger girl up top and it was very tight. I usually wear a 0 and the 2 barely zipped up. Thank god they put a hook and eye closure on the dress but the zipped slid down a few times throughout the night. Also, have a dedicated bathroom buddy because the bottom did not shimmy up so I had to completely unzip to go. Overall though it was beautiful!

Wore size 6.(size up for your extra size) Take tiny steps, avoid stairs and if you need to pee make sure you have a bathroom buddy to help you zip back up. But totally worth it. You can wear a strapless bra if needed. I wore spanx to help slide the dress on a little easier. Gave such a nice shape to my body. My husband was checking me out all night!

Fit a bit small, my husband had to help me zip into it. Looked great and fit like a glove, was just a bit hard to breath! A bunch of compliments and would rent again and deal with the corset feel!!

Event: Wore this to a black-tie optional wedding. Great alt for shorter girls who don't want to rent a floor-length because of height issues! This was a great option, and worked perfectly for the wedding, and got a ton of complements from guests. I felt great in it. Fit: I usually wear a size 6 or 4 - and the 4 was not available, so I ordered size 8 as a backup. Was swimming in the 8, and the 6 was doable but still a bit too big because it may have been stretched out - I would recommend sizing down with your backup size so that your dress doesn't fall down when you're dancing! The fabric has some give (without looking like poor quality), so you should be good.

I was happy with the way the dress looked but I definitely should of worn a size 4, which was not available. It couldn't walk or sit with out discomfort though bc it fit liked a glove. I just wish the dress gave a little more at the bottom. But hey everyone said I looked great.

I rented this dress for a black tie optional outdoor wedding and it was perfect! Elegant, well-made and flattering -- definitely one of my favorite rentals from RTR. I ordered a 2 and 4, but wore the 2 to make sure the strapless top was snug. My only dislike was that there was not a hook at the top of the back zipper so when I would breathe in, the zipper would unzip about an inch which got annoying. Other than that, I would definitely rent again!

The fit was great; despite being strapless, I was able to dance all evening in this dress. The only con is that there is some boning in the bodice that hit me right above the hip and poked after a while. Might just be my body type though.

I usually don't wear strapless dresses but the style was different so I went with it. The size 6 was tight but manageable while the 8 was a bit loose so I went with the 6. As others have said walking up steps was tricky and dancing was a little difficult-this dress has no give. Also the front flap didn't stand up so I kept it down with tape. I don't regret wearing it but if you plan on getting it in on the dance floor I would go with something else. The dress was beautiful though.

I wore this to a work awards ceremony reception dinner. I needed something classy but still fun. This option was nice. It was strapless so I ended up keeping an laser over it to make it less sexy. The top also ran very very large (I'm a 34D and it was not being help up properly). The body looked great - super fitted and nice. Only other complaint was walking in it was very hard because the slit in the back was not high enough. I would not recommend it if you are dancing at all (but since I wasn't it was fine). Great dress overall - just wish it was more fitted up top and easier to walk in.

This dress looks amazing if your standing or slow dancing but... it's tight around your bottom half then massive at the top. My strapless bra is pretty padded so that helped but I did have to pull it up a lot and adjust it when I sat ( the top would slid below my bra strap). Everyone really loved it and I got so many compliments and everyone said I didn't look rammed in it or gapy on top but I didn't feel as comfortable as I have in other RTR dresses. This experience will NOT put me off renting because I love it. Not a bad experience just a little so so. The dress was in great shape, clean, no issues there.

If you want to accentuate your hour glass figure, this is the dress to rent. The dark navy color and semi thick material smooths out imperfections. The seeming on the waist hits at the perfect spot to cinch in your waist. The asymmetrical button tab gives it a modern appeal. The only negative was the material on the chest does not lie flat but pops out like a button up shirt, which can make you look unkept and extra chesty. Not for girls with large chest. I have a c cup and was worried it wouldn't zip up. My date said 'he couldn't take his eyes off me in that dress'. Sexy classy.

The top fit perfect with the size 6 but the body fit perfect with the 4! The 6 did stretch out a bit through out the night but nothing that was super noticeable (only to me). Besides that, it was a great fit! Definitely will order again! Thanks RNR!

Very well made dress and beautiful color , but the fitting was a bit off the size 2 was a bit tight and the size 4 didn't look right ( big) .
