It fit nicely in the bust area and had a subtle, and flattering flair at the hips into the full skirt. It was a comfortable, very flattering dress!

The shoulder straps hang on the very edge of my shoulders and IMHO that is not a formal nor elegant look. I do like the yellow/purple floral emboss on top of the fabric. The bottom skirt hides any wait and hips, especially good if you have a pear shape or if you have large hips.

I rented this for my wedding. I must admit, I was nervous renting a dress but I've rented so many times I felt it would all work out. When I got the dress and the back up size was a blue lace dress instead, I got really nervous. But, luckily the size 4 fit perfectly. I only wish I had purchased a padded or push up bra to fill the top. I'm a b cup and it was slight big, as you can see in really just this photo. I loved this dress and it was so unique. The sleeves look and feel like soft burlap. The color is beautiful and I wore nude heels. I had a woman who wanted to buy it from me. Over all, this is a great dress that runs true to size.

This was my first RTR dress, which I wore to my bridal shower. The dress was absolutely stunning and so well made. I received a ton of compliments. This would be perfect for a spring wedding. The skirt was very full, kind of reminded me of a Betty Draper dress! I loved the dress so much that I made my finance take me to dinner after the shower so I could keep wearing it!

This dress fit great. The material on the lower half of the skirt looks different online than in person but still very lovely. I loved the neck line. The shoulder straps do limit the range of motion but not enough to really be a con. This dress is super classy and I loved wearing it!

Ideal dress for a formal, day party. The recommended Kate Spade necklace paired perfectly. Looked very feminine and flattering in the 50's puff-skirt style. Loved the neckline with the slightly off the shoulder straps. They did fit snugly under the arm, but I wouldn't want them moving around, so that was OK. Gorgeous dress, luxurious material.

I rented this dress to wear at our "rehearsal brunch" at One If By Land, Two If By Sea in the West Village. I knew I wanted something with a bit of Old Hollywood glamour, and boy, did it deliver! I couldn't keep track of the compliments, and had never felt lovelier - obviously, putting my wedding dress on the following morning topped that record, but I will never forget how beautiful I felt. Based on reviews, I was concerned about the fit and comfort but was pleased that while the 12 looked nice, the 10 fit MUCH better - it really hugged my waist and suited my hourglass figure in a way that few dresses have. I loved the fullness of the skirt - I have wide hips but felt it did not make me feel bigger; on the contrary, because the fit at the waist was so beautiful. The dress also suited my full bust nicely - when sitting down, the cleavage was a bit more than I usually prefer, and I did have to adjust it a few times, but the dress was so beautiful I didn't mind. I also didn't have the armhole issues that other reviewers complained about it, despite my very average (or perhaps a bit larger than average) arms - the straps were a bit awkward, true, and perhaps a bit snug, but I was totally comfortable. The weight, texture and colors of the fabric, and the silkiness of the lining all made this a divine experience. I didn't want to take it off, and will definitely be renting it again.

It was true to size. I wore minimalist gold sandal heels and a yellow dressy hat. It was perfect for a daytime wedding.

Pros: I'm a little overweight at the moment and this dress was perfect at concealing the extra pounds. I've never had a tiny waist but the cut of the dress made me look like I finally had a nipped in waistline, yay! I was in the dress for about 12 hours and it was extremely comfortable (i.e., no pinching, digging, slipping, etc.). Cons: I really don't have any negatives except that because of the scooped out neckline, this dress probably works best for women with somewhat broad shoulders and/or a full bust. I'm a 34C and have fairly broad shoulders so the sleeves stayed put, but it was hard to raise my arms over my shoulders on the dance floor. A very small price to pay for such a fabulous dress. Suggestions: I highly recommend wearing a chunky/flashy necklace with this dress, which fits with its 50s/retro vibe.I rented the "On The Town" necklace, which was perfect and garnered lots of compliments. I added my own belt to further define my waist and finish the look. Overall, I loved the dress and would happily rent it again for another fancy daytime event!

The silhouette reminds me of classic Dior, and the pattern definitely keeps the look fresh! Periwinkle and light yellow/green make this dress perfect for a summer wedding! The straps will fall right at the end of your shoulders, and the arm hole was a bit small, and the skirt is very full. I just loved wearing it- I can't think of a better dress for an outdoor wedding in the french countryside!

The dress was a showstopper! It made me feel like a princess. The flowery detail was just the right touch to lovely fitted a line dress. It has some fabric threads that were loose, but the dress was otherwise great. I also felt it was a bit big; I would have had a better fit in a ten. But the dress did what I wanted: it helped me make an entrance!

The cut is flattering, except in the hips. Because it was constructed of two different fabrics, it seemed as though the hip area had stretched out while the hem line had night, creating a bit of a balloon/bubble shape. However, this was easily fixed with a few pieces of double stick tape. It was fun to wear and I got a ton of compliments. I have a larger bust, which can be tough to fit, but the dress fit fine, only a bit tight on the arms. I definitely enjoyed wearing it all day and all night.

Beautifully embroidered on linen. I received lots of compliments, but felt a little self conscious about the 'flare' from the waist down. I didn't get to try the size I initially ordered, but the backup size fit good. (The 10 was returned damaged from the previous renter). The customer service was wonderful and sent the second size to our hotel room, so it was there awaiting for our arrival. (The 2nd size wasn't available at the time I rented.) It could have been a disaster, but RTR made sure I had a beautiful dress to wear for the Belmont Stakes! Thank you RTR, I will definitely use your services again! It was a great experience!

My first RTR experience and now I'm hooked! It's true you WILL receive many compliments with this dress as it is exquisite. The pictures just don't do the details justice. I took one star away for the way it looks in some front profile pictures as though you're slouching (I noticed it on some of the other renters' photos as well) but still a beautiful, classic look. Plus, renting it was super easy, I'm already waiting on my second RTR dress in a couple of weeks!

I just felt like this dress fits a curvy girl perfectly. Although I couldn't lift my arms up because of how the straps lay. I didn't care though, I felt amazing. I forgot to take a standing photo. I'm short and the 6 came just below my knee. It had a classic yet retro vibe to the shape. Loved it!

Absolutely beautiful dress! Though I am a little bit short, the dress did come down past my knees as more of a tea length. But other than that it fit perfectly and I received so many compliments that night. The sleeves can be a little awkward when lifting your arms, but a lady doesn't need to do that anyway. I loved the fabric and it flowed beautifully for a summer night.

This dress is so cute and an easy fit. Semi-high waist makes it really good for a pear or someone with a full figure. The shoulders are a little hard to wear as they sometimes feel like they are slipping off but if you ignore them it is totally fine!!!! I would completely recommend this for a family affair or an afternoon with your boyfriend's boss :)

I have been eyeing this dress forever and was waiting for the perfect event to rent. I had a summer party and had everything styled before it even arrived, down to the clutch, shoes, cuff and earrings. When it arrived, it was as gorgeous as you'd expect a Lela Rose frock to be, and I was so excited! However, I was really disappointed with the fit. I'm typically a 0-2 in general and a 0 in Lela Rose. While I'm slender, I have some curves and am not straight up and down. This dress is probably best on tall girls with a sizeable chest, but otherwise slender (or proportionally smaller in the hips and bum). For this dress in particular, I think it's pretty important to fill out the top in order to have this lay nicely as it does on the model. Based on the dress and my size, this was fine, but the dress added a lot of unflattering bulk to my silhouette. In particular, the arm holes are tiny! It forced me to hold my arms in an unnatural way, and it was incredibly unflattering. Also, the cut of the waist was too large on me. Had it been more tailored, it would've defined my waist nicely and given me a slimmer appearance, but since it didn't fit appropriately, I looked thick throughout my midsection, and a belt did nothing to help (though I wouldn't style it as such in any case). The skirt was oddly tailored as well. Not a true a-line, it was more of a tulip shape through the hips before flowing more loosely down past my knees. This definitely added extra volume around my hips and behind, and my sister even said that the dress made me look about 20 lbs heavier- not good! Very disappointing- I tried to make it work, but in spite of how gorgeous a dress it was, if it doesn't flatter, it's not worth it! I ended up returning...

This dress has a beautiful pattern. The fit was easy everywhere except for the arms because the arm holes were relatively small. The sleeves are slightly off the shoulder. The dress hit me right below my knee. It is fitted in the waist and the bodice, but the skirt is full. Great for bigger hips! It would be the perfect dress for a bridal shower or brunch!

I got this dress to try something new as I wanted to get something a little bit more sophisticated and different from my norm. Overall, I was underwelmed by the fabric when I saw it in real life v. photos online. The fabric is stiff (including the sleeves which I expected) and the skirt doesn't move at all, despite it's large nature. Speaking of the sleeves, they were a nice detail but didn't work quite right for me...I don't know if it was my just my body type or the sleeves are too short but I couldn't get them very high up my arm to almost touch my shoulder. I'm sure there are those who love this dress, but it wasn't for me.

The dress fits true to size and is very elegant. It's a bit constricting but it's the most beautiful dress ever!

This dress is cut a little strangely. The straps are off the shoulder, so you can't wear a regular bra, and the arm holes seem really small (or I've been working out too much!). I ended up going without a bra, and the material was thick enough that it worked great. It's semi-backless. It seems like 2 different materials-- a thicker burlap-like material, plus the heavier satin floral, but it's unique and pretty. It sits a little large around the hips and waist, but I liked the look for my shower. It has a nostalgic, vintage look with a modern material.

I selected this dress based on the cut, color, and style. I am 5'9 and have a smaller rub cage so can typically do a 2 but the rental was not available so I opted for the 4 as seen. In the picture you can tell the bottom of this gorgeous gown is so strange. It sits very oddly in shape to my figure. There is not elastic on the sleeves so keeping it up will be an issue if the dress doesn't fit properly. This dress would be precious with a new shape to the bottom. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend renting this dress.

We eloped, after a long day in my dress I changed into this for cake and champagne. The fabric was great, the straps fit well and it was elegant enough that I feel like if I had wanted to I could have worn it for the ceremony as well. Highly recommended, even for a short girl the length was still proper on me.

I loved the dress! The colors are much more virbant in person! The top/bodice was form fitting and it made my waist look very small. The dress is poofy but, I didnt feel big in it at all. I received many compliments and it was comfortable.

This is great if you have an hourglass figure or a straight and narrow build but beware, you will need to keep checking to be sure everything is still in place. I'd recommend taping the neckline down to your skin so you don't flash your bra or boobs-

The moment a complete stranger told me that I needed to keep it for my children, and their children! I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a rental. The pictures do NOT do it justice. The colors and fabric are amazing. DEFINITELY worth it!

Wonderful length, and print, for a formal, summer work event. Worth keeping the straps on the shoulder in mind, a bit tough to wear with a larger bust.

This is a beautiful dress but as it says that it is cotton, I expected something a bit lighter in weight. I proved too heavy to wear for a daytime summer party as it was too warm. I would rent it again to wear in different circumstances.

The fabric was a work of art, thick with a beautiful painted design. Flattering for an hourglass figure. Felt beautiful in it for a wedding. The 8 fit better than the 10, but something weird had happened to the fabric of the 8 such that the material at the bottom of the skirt had shrunk so that it looked tighter on the knees than in the hips (not flattering). However I really wanted to wear the smaller size as it fit so much better. I spent an hour trying to stretch the bottom material and iron it out, and kept stretching it periodically throughout the evening. I think it ended up not being noticeable after that as I only got compliments. I would 100% recommend this dress, just hope you don't get the shrunken one, but if you do it's mostly fixable.

I didn't wear this dress as I ultimately settled on a different rental, but just a note: the fabric on this dress is a bit heavy and would be too hot to wear in warm weather or warm outdoor event. I wanted to wear it in a summer wedding in Arizona and I would have died in the heat even with it's short length. It's a beautiful cut and design, but be aware of the thicker fabric!

It is a beautiful dress in person although I think it photographs a bit dowdy. I found the fit comfortable with the arm holes being true to size, if not on the slightly smaller side.

This dress was perfect for my bridal shower brunch where I wanted to dress somewhat conservatively. I am 5'9" and I wore the 4, although the 2 would probably have been perfect it was not available, so I had a little bit of room up top. The cap sleeves are a nice touch, but they actually make an arm movement a little difficult -- one of the stylists had warned me about this -- not terrible, just not as easy to move. The picture does not do the fabric of this dress justice, it's a delicate and unusal fabric that make the dress feel as high end as it is. I received lots of compliments and felt feminine and extremely bridal, which was perfect. I rented the Kate Spade necklace to finish the look and couldn't have been happier.

I wore this for a Kentucky Derby party! It was fun, the shoulders were a bit difficult to move at times, but it was a fun dress, loved the back neckline too!

I ordered too small of a size. Even if it fit it wouldn't have been a good choice for my body type. I have broader shoulders and I dont have a small waist. This dress would be ideal for a pear shape or an overall slender build. I used a back up dress that was great. This dress has a beautiful print on very nice fabric. I would only want to wear this dress if I were indoors or in a cool environment (fabric is a little heavy and not as breathable as other options could be)

This was a back up dress that I didn't wear but it is lovely. Has a great Mad Men vibe to it and it is definitely unique. I will say that the fit is different from what I usually wear. When I first put it on I wasn't sure I liked how it fit but I think it's just because I don't usually wear fuller skirts. I would consider renting again if I had the right event come along for it.

Ordered for a late summer wedding, but ultimately ended up wearing another dress-- the torso was too roomy, and the hem hit at an awkward place (somewhere between knee and tea length, not great unless you have amazing calves). The fabric is really substantial, and it's constructed beautifully, though. I could see this being perfect for a spring wedding.
