I typically wear a size 4 and had to wear a size 6 in this dress. I have a pretty small chest, and it was very fitted. Not sure it would have fit if my chest were bigger. I loved how simple and yet unique this dress was. I was able to dance comfortably at my friends wedding without fear of my dress being too short. I am 5'4 and also have short legs, so that helped. Luckily this wedding was indoors as it was pretty windy out. I'd take that into consideration when renting!

My daughter wore this to a wedding. It was very pretty on. She usually wears a size 4 in jeans. The 4 dress hung too low on her so she wore the 2. She received complements all night.

I totally loved this dress. Like spent an hour the next morning unsuccessfully trying to buy it online level loved it. I have a small chest but large rib cage, so I think that balanced out for me size-wise, but it was still pretty snug. Not so snug that I couldn't take full advantage of the open bar I had paid top dollar for, but still. To accommodate the neckline I had ordered one of RTR's various backless/strapless boob covering offerings, but it didn't arrive on time, so I had to go braless and the thickness of the fabric and snugness of the top made that totally fine. I tried my backup 10 and it honestly didn't feel or look that different, so if you're borderline or the 8 is unavailable I'd try the 10. The thickness of the fabric is also great for perfectly skimming over the hips/love handles/whatever and makes for a great, classic A-line silhouette. Overall, I thought it was super flattering, the color was deep and gorgeous and photographed really well, and for the price it's an absolute slam dunk. I would rent it again in a heartbeat.

This dress was very flattering and easy to dance in! I love the fabric, however I did find that it ran a tad on the smaller side - I found the size 4 to be a lot more comfortable than the size 2.

I love it. The color is very elegant. My only con is it is a bit longer than ideal. It's middle thigh on the model but right above the knee on me. But I'm short. It still looks great.

Fun dress for a wedding. My only complaint would be the chest was a tad snug. I'm broad shouldered I had to squeeze myself in. Other than that very comfortable and cute!

I wore this dress to an indoor wedding in TX where the dress code was "Formal". I received a few compliments on this dress but I just felt awkward in it. It was extremely tight in the chest area, I am a 34 B and thought it was tough to zip up. I think this would be better on someone with slimmer shoulders/arms. The material is very high quality and thicker than I thought it would be.

Very short and tight around the waist. The arm pits had a low cut so I was afraid of unflattering side boobs/ arm pit chub sticking out. My husband loved the length- very short. I was able to dance all night and had lots of fun! The color was nice. Wouldn't rent again.

I wore this to a friend's wedding & the material was nice & thick & I liked the color. It fit everywhere except for the straps which were too long. I'm 5'1, 125 lb, & I had to pin the straps up so the top wouldn't expose any side boob. I got a size 4 & 6, but the 6 fit better around the chest. I wouldn't get this exact dress again, but I did like the style.

Dress was super cute. I couldn't wear a bra, but I used fashion tape to keep it up. It didn't hold bc the dress is thick. By the end of the night the tape was off and I was pulling the dress up. Maybe get stronger tape??

Fits true to size. I'm petite so I actually had to pin the straps to make them slightly tighter but was an EZ fix! Many compliments!

The dress fit quite snugly across the chest which made zipping it up tricky but possible. It also allowed for her to feel comfortable & supported without a bra. However she needed to pull up the dress to feel like she didn't have side boob. When the top was snug the bottom had an airiness & flow for fun dancing & keeping her cool on the crowded dance floor. As her mother, she looked so lovely & it's style was a perfect mix of cute & grownup.

Both the 2 and 4 fit, however the 4 was much more comfortable in the rib cage/chest area! The fit and flare is perfect to be flattering yet very comfortable to dance the night away. And the color is one that would look great on any skin tone.

This dress is super cute and perfect for a summer wedding. The neckline is a unique detail and the fit-and-flair silhouette is great for dancing. This dress is somewhat snug through the top half, I do not have a large chest but do have large lats and could have worn either my normal size or the backup larger size comfortably. I chose my regular size (2) because I liked the more tapered, snug look. A bra is not necessary but I wore a sticky bra to keep my shape as the fabric is tight and flattening. I had to use fashion tape to stick the bra to the dress to keep it from showing at the top. The fabric is a little heavy but was fine for an outdoor summer wedding. I definitely recommend this dress! If you have a big chest or a muscular back, definitely size up.

The color was lovely. The fit was great. I saw previous reviews saying to order a size up so I did and it was a perfect fit. It went well with a regular strapless bra. It made me look more slim as well.

I wore this dress for a baptism. It was a gorgeous dress and I got a ton of compliments! You know a dress is great when everyone has something to say about what you are wearing! Definitely a head turner. I wore it for a day time event. It was a hot dress but appropriate enough to wear in church for a baptism and then a formal brunch afterwards at an upscale restaurant. I am very curvy on the bottom and also super short (5'1), and this dress is perfect for those curvy petite girls! I wore it with gold heels and slate and willow drop earrings. Love this dress!!! Definitely a favorite!

I regretted not bringing my DressWeights though because the fit and flare gem was really flowy and some other party-goers caught a peep. Ugh! Next time I rent I'll definitely wear it with them!

I loved this dress. The color and neckline are beautiful and unique and I love a good A-line. Just be aware this dress is NOT for bigger busts. It was very tight around the boobs and ribs. My 34B's were in there tight with stickies in both the 2 and the 4. Any bigger and this dress would be unwearable.

Originally I ordered an 8, but has to size up to a 10 because of the “girls” I’m a 36DD and the 10 was perfect. I received a lot of compliments, even my teenage daughters loved it and complimented. That’s a huge win!!

This dress is lovely - the texture of the dress, the fit, the color tone. I loved it! I wore it to a summer wedding and it was perfect for dancing. Very comfortable and quite honestly, I did not want to take it off! I was worried about the cut along the sides of the top into the halter but, it was perfect and no issues!

I rented this as my free birthday dress and was honestly surprised just how much I loved it. I'm sorry I don't have a photo of the whole dress, but it fit perfectly (5'0" 105lbs size 0) and hit just above my knee. The vivid teal color is just stunning. The material is sturdy but not quite thick enough to go bra-less. I wore a strapless bra and didn't have any problems with it showing. Highly recommend!

I loved this dress. It hugged my curves in the right places and it was really comfortable. I felt very secure in the chest with it... I dont like a lot of low cut clothes so this was perfect! Was a great dancing dress! The zipper was a little tricky but my hubby was able to get it. I did have to pull it up a bunch on the sides cause it's totally something I'm not used to wearing but overall great dress!

Firstly, this isn't the Carolyn dress, it's the Ashland dress from Lively. Based on reviews, I went up a size. In general it fit, but had a little gaping around the chest and I used fashion tape to keep the top from slipping down on the sides. It was clear this had been worn a ton and was missing things like the hook and eye, but that's really only obvious up close. People loved the color and were telling me all night to find this dress and buy it! I would buy it new, but wouldn't spend that much on something that has been worn to death. Overall- great choice for a summer wedding!

I usually wear 2/4/6 and the 6 would have been perfect. Thick material - a little hot for a daytime summer wedding, but it didn't feel like "too much."

The dress is very unique and cute. I'm 5'9" and it was a little shorter than was probably appropriate for a wedding, but whatever. The top was fitted enough that I wouldn't have needed a bra, but wore a strapless. Even so, it is quite fitted, anything over a C cup may feel restricted/overflow. The best part is that it stretches a bit for that wedding meal / beer !

I rented this dress for my graduate school graduation and fell in love! I wanted to keep it forever. The fit was super flattering and the dress is a very sturdy material. I was worried about wearing a bra with it, but a few of my strapless bras worked well with it (the dress was sturdy enough I could have gone without anything if I had to as well). I ordered the dress in my size and sized up. I wore my normal size and it was extremely comfortable too. I received a ton of compliments on the dress! Definite recommend!!
