I did need the backup size because there was no give in the waist at all and I have had babies. Loved the pockets, loved the flow. It was fun to wear. I wore a cami and shapewear underneath so I wouldn't worry about a bra or anything else showing.

The back is slightly open with a button so I pinned it so my bra wouldn’t show but it wasn’t a big deal and got lots of compliments on the dress.

The tags were still on the dress. It was nice being the first person to wear it. I got an X-Large just in case since there weren’t any reviews. I probably could’ve gotten away with a large. I used boob tape because my back was visible. This dress will be very tough to button by yourself. It took me 30 minutes and a lot of patience to do it myself.

Loved this, easy to dress up or down. Velvet waistband fits slightly tight, if you're between sizes consider going up.

Really enjoyed wearing this dress. Perfect for a holiday party at work. However, the back was too wide open for me so I used some magnetic pins to close it.

Not for large breast woman

I thought I'd size up and that would make it work for my bigger bust, but that did not work. Disappointed in this dress - not flattering on shorter full busted girl.

It’s hard to tell the dress is sheer, so it can feel a little dowdy on. Definitely go for usual size or size up. Ran small for me

Should have sized up one size, but I didn’t know as there were no reviews yet. Tried to zip up in back, but had a full inch or more left on zipper before it just stopped. Back is nearly open, with three buttons at neck and a single button in the middle of the back. Would have had to worn pasties or gone braless. Got for vacation in New Orleans bur sadly couldn't wear.

Just my personal sizing issues… the waistline sits high up on my ribcage area…. so that band is just too tight. It’s soooo beautiful and I love it so much, but that sizing thing, ugh.

Did not like

I love the dress. The color is bold and eye catching. It has a very formal appearance to the design so great for work. Unfortunately, I should have take heed and sized up to an 8. I could not fit the 6 which is my general dress size.

When I first tried on the dress I thought it made me look too matronly. It felt like a lot of fabric that covered my whole body neck, to wrists, to ankles. Somehow, I didn't get this impression from the photos of the model online. Because of the full coverage, the pattern also felt a little overwhelming. I felt it needed a necklace to somehow break things up. I also tried a belt but I didn't have the right one. And the earrings I rented also helped. But the dress grew on me, and in the end I was happy with it. My very fashionable 15-year-old daughter loved it and rated it a 5 on me. I really appreciated not having to think about modesty in this with a conservative crowd. I was able to dance freely without worrying about it. And thanks to the length of the dress I was able to wear my black combat boots without standing out at a formal wedding, which was important due to a foot injury. I'm about 5'9", maybe 140-145 lds and wore a size 4. It was a little hard to zip up fully but I managed with help. I wore a regular black strapless bra with a narrow lace tube top to cover the strap. You definitely need help buttoning and unbuttoning this dress.

Waist and hip were tight. Would suggest sizing up if you are curvier in the hip.

I have rented many dresses and have never had an issue, this is the first dress that didn't fit me (either size). The waist is not stretchy so there was no zipping this baby up for me. I am 5 ft and 140 lbs, I don't have a snatched waist but I don't carry all my weight in my stomach either.. it's more the bottom half. Hopefully, this helps you choose the best size for you. The dress was pretty on the hanger.
