The material is nice and thicker, holds things in and quite forgiving. Still recommend shape wear though. The shoulder style gave it a little something different than regular black gown. No slit in the dress so more measured steps while walking. The material wouldn't work with a slit though.

I truly loved this dress! It was classy and made of a beautiful fabric. I loved having the hourglass shape in a dress for once. I really needed a size 2 R but Rent the Runway didn't have it available. I found the hips to be very large for my body.

Very stretchy material, flexible and never had to think while I was really dancing hard! It did creep up some, so had to pull down sides periodically. When I took off my heels, I could pull the dress up so it did not drag. I was wearing 3" heels.

The structure of this dress was very flattering. loved the neck line. I'm 5-8 and wore the long with 3" heals. easy enough to dance in for new years! I would rent again.

This dress was perfect for a evening wedding. Could have been dressy or semi-formal. Very comfortable and easy to wear with a strapless bra. I realize I'm 5'11" but the tall was right at my ankles. Hoping for another inch or two on it. Order tall if you are 5'8 or above for sure.

You can slip this dress on like a t-shirt yet it is elegant and form fitting but also forgiving. Highly recommend.

This dress was very comfortable. The high quality stretch fabric was super flattering. I rented the 43L & 44L and had them delivered to a store close to where the event I was attending. Oddly enough the 44L was about 5 inches shorter than the 42L. I wore the 42L, but would probably have been happier with a 40L Although some renters complained about getting into this dress, I did it with ease- unlike most renters I chose to step into the dress as opposed to putting it on head/or arms first.

I'm 5'2" 127lbs. I'm a 30 DD. This dress fit like it was made for me. I especially loved how the dress lengthen my torso. The straps over the shoulder were perfect so I could wear a regular bra. I did wear a Spanx body suit that was shorts and went under my bra and then over my shoulders. This dress was so comfortable. I do love this brand and the 38R was perfect for my height with 4 inch heels. I danced for 2 hours. Easy to get off and easy to lift up for potty breaks. Thanks RTR.

I rented this gown for a black-tie affair & was a little skeptical at first about this gown due to the cut. I tried it on and instantly fell in love. I received compliments all night and it definitely fit like a glove! My only con is that it wasn't quite floor length. I would've loved for it to touch the ground but that's a small con when there's a million pros. SAY YES TO THIS DRESS!!

Material is thick as others have mentioned. I was able to wear a normal bra and Spanx under it which I appreciated. I typically wear a size 2-4. The length was perfect for me even though I am short - just under 5'2 (I wore heels.). Wore for a black tie wedding; would wear again.

If you are tall the "sleeves" an the "straps" my be a bit tight. I wish this dress came in other colors because I wanted to avoid black but I loved it!

I sized up as recommended. The dress fit perfectly, was easy to get on (No zipper so you just step into it), was super flattering, and incredibly comfortable. I've gained a lot of weight recently and don't feel pretty in anything but I felt gorgeous in this dress. I think it runs short bc I'm only 5'2 and wore short heels and it was the perfect height. The simple black dress was sleek and stylish but also conservative enough for an opera premiere. It was a little loose at the stomach and hips so it shimmied a little up when I walked.

The dress was divine! Very comfortable to sit, walk, stand and dance in. Mermaid style is very flattering and will significantly accent hourglass figures. Quality fabric. Although slimming, spanx will smooth everything the dress will show.

This dress is so flattering. I'm about 12 weeks post partum so I needed something a little forgiving and something I could wear without a strapless bra. This was perfect. It is made of a very thick stretchy material so it's super comfortable. I am 5'3" and about 150 lbs, usually a size 10. I ordered the 8R (44) as the 10 was unavailable and it fit me perfectly. The dress seems to run short- it was a little short with my 3 inch heels.

Wore this to a military ball. This is my second dress from this designer, and won't be my last! The dress is super flattering; it's tight, the material is stretchy and thick, and hugs curves well. It's sexy without being too revealing. A great option for larger chests-- you can wear a regular bra (I'm a 34G). I wore 3 inch heels and the length was perfect.

People aren't kidding when they call it the "yoga pants of dresses." It's made out of a stretchy, super comfy material just like yoga pants, making it the most comfortable dress I've ever worn in my life. I'm a very pear shaped individual, with hips almost a full 12" larger than my bust, so I normally have to get dresses that I buy tailored to fit one or the other. Not this dress. The stretch and thick material meant it fit my booty and my bust. I actually sized down so it wasn't gappy in the bust, and it still stretched over my bottom without making breathing or sitting uncomfortable. I hear this designer uses similar fabrics for all of their gowns, so I'll definitely be checking out more of these pieces. In terms of length, I got a long, which I don't normally wear because I'm 5'5". I wore short, 2 inch heals and this dress fell perfectly at ground level. If you're taller than 5'8", this dress will probably be a bit short on you, even with the long.

This dress is made of a thick, stretchy material that isn't overly tight. It fit in all the right places, and was very form flattering. I felt super sexy but definitely classy. Plus, you can pretty much wear any bra with it, though I'd recommend getting some tape to keep the bra straps hidden under the gown straps. So many compliments! It was INCREDIBLY comfortable. It does restrict leg movement slightly but nothing that would get in the way of walking or dancing. But don't plan to do any serious lunging in this dress.

Rented this dress as one of the choices for her to wear to her upcoming prom. Although this dress was beautiful and the fit great, she ended up choosing a different dress. Length was perfect with 3 inch heels.

I rented this dress for a black tie awards show. This dress is perfect for curvy figures, it hugs your shape well, but in a dignified way. I read all the reviews with measurements similar to mine and picked my size from there. My first choice size was perfect (44L). I'm barely 5'6", wore 3.5" heels and the dress didn't quite touch the ground (you can see my shoes in the photo). The only thing I can nitpick about is the top part of the dress that goes across the chest isn't taut-even with my broad shoulders-so it bows out a bit. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with this dress.

This dress fit perfectly. There are no zippers so you have to put the dress on over your head... beware of that before you finish your hair and makeup! It hugged all of my curves and the material is buttery. My only complaint is that I'm a little curvier on the bottom and had to pull the dress down quite a few times. I probably wouldn't suggest this dress for $150 again though.

Snug, thick scuba-like fabric this designer has used on many dresses I've loved. I was able to wear regular bra and didn't need spanx or slip. Dress smoothed all my curves. Slight sheen to fabric, so comfortable and fancy and pretty. I wore it as a costume (fallen angel) but would have been perfect for a formal. You will love!!

This is my 3rd rental of this dress I love it so much! I wore the 38R which is equivalent of a 4. For reference I wear a 4 in American eagle jeggings, a 29 in most designer jeans like seven for all mankind & I have an hourglass shape. If you are taller than 5'4" you will want a long and not regular, as I had to wear 2.5-3 inch heels and it's JUST barely touched the ground.

Fit like a glove. Didn't need a slip. Definitely get a long as suggested. I wore heels and it was a perfect fit. I got two sizes to be safe and felt svelte in the 46L. I am hourglass shaped which this dress highlights well.

This dress fit awesome! It's a wonderful stretchy thick material, that hugged in all the right places. I'm very large busted (36G) and I didn't need a bra for this dress. I'm 5'7 and wore a 4 inch heel and the bottom just came to the top of my shoe. I do have a little belly so I wore spanx and that smoothed out that area. I was very impressed with this dress.

I never wear fitted dresses because I'm insecure about my tummy, but this dress was incredible! I wore compression spandex to smooth out lines, but the dress is perfectly cut to flatter your body! Plus it's incredibly comfortable and classy. I'm 5'7" so I ordered the long, but I think I was sent the regular because it skimmed the floor with flats on. I paired it with black and gold sandals and Ben-Amun's Ronnie Earrings (<highly recommend). I typically wear sizes 8, 10, and 12 in dresses, but I wore a size 6 (44) in this dress, and it was perfect (and still not skin tight)! Definitely order 2 sizes down - it's super stretchy, so there's nothing to worry about. If you're nervous about the length being too short, order the long and tape the hem...because of the material, it wouldn't be noticeable. Seriously try this dress out!
