I rented this dress for an out of town wedding and had it delivered to where I was staying...one less thing to pack! I rented my usual size and a size down and was surprised that the smaller one fit better! Very comfortable as its not too form fitting...allowed for easy movement. Wedding was in a warm climate and having a more loose fitting dress was much more comfortable in the heat. Bead work was just the right amount of texture without being flashy. I got TONS of compliments!

The dress is 2 pieces, and I ended up wearing the 16 slip and the 14 dress. Very pretty, just the right amount of sparkle. It did have a few pulled treads where the beading was coming off, but not very noticeable. Would rent again .

Wore this dress to a wedding, lots of complements. Dress runs big wore a 14. Dress has an overlay with beads. Has been wore a couple times before because had lots of loose strings throughout the overlay. Would rent again!!

This dress is gorgeous and so glam. I wore it to a night time wedding and everyone loved it. It does seem to run a little big, however, I fluctuate between a 14 and 16, and the 14 was unavailable for the weekend I needed it, so I got the 16. The 14 definitely would've been better for me. I ended up not wearing the black slip that came under it because I didn't want to pin that and ruin it, and it was much too big. Instead I just wore a black cami and a black bodycon skirt I already had, and then I pinned back the gold overlay part so it would be more fitted. Overall it's an amazing dress, I'd just suggest sizing down. :)

I ordered 20 but was too big glad i got the 18 as a back up the fit was perfect i am very busty and curvy and it fit like a glove!!! absolutely lovely and the sparkle was perfect everyone loved my dress!!!

I loved that I could wear a normal bra & normal panties under this dress! Very comfortable and flattering ... It was a little big but I'd rather bigger than too small. It was gorgeous!

The dress was so comfy! It fit a bit big, which wasn't the worst thing in the Vegas heat! I would certainly rent again!

I wore this dress for my sorority formal. I was a bit nervous about the fit, since I have recently lost about 45 pounds, and wasn't entirely sure what my dress size was, but the 18W fit great! I probably could have even fit into the 16w, but only the 18 was available when I ordered. This was actually my backup dress, but I ended up using it since I liked the fit better than my first dress. This dress is an instant classy look, and I got a ton of compliments on it!

Dress was amazingly comfortable. Random strangers approached me to tell me how much they loved my dress! I was able to do the zipper myself, wore it with black leggings. I felt confident and beautiful all night! Can't wait for an occasion to wear / rent this one again!

I rented this dress for the gold sheen but when I got it, it was a lot darker than I expected - almost black. Unfortunately the smallest size was a 14W which was quite large and not form fitting for me at all (I'm usually a 12) - but I was happy with the dress overall since we went out for a large meal that evening, I had room to move around. The dress is comfortable with curves but I wish they offered a few smaller sizes!

I wore this dress for a charity dinner, the slip that came with it was way too long and hung out below the bottom of the dress, so I choose to wear my own. The dress overlay is stretchy and has a lot of give, though with the size I got I didn't need it. It was cute and not overly flashy for my event. I wore a black blazer, tights, and low heels to compensate for the sparkle of the dress. It was comfortable all night.

I didn't end up wearing this dress. It runs large and the 16 was loose. I did try the belt technique like another RTR reviewer had and it did bring it together. I opted to wear another RTR dress because I didn't have the right belt for the job and there was some loose beading on the 16.

This was my first time using rent the runway, but it was so great! The dress was beautiful and perfect for my theatre gala. Definitely darker than pictured. And as the 14 was taken for the weekend, I had to size up. The 14 or even the 12 probably would have fit. It was pretty large. Ended up putting a pin in it to take in the sides. It also was a little longer than I expected, but it was still beautiful. Main downside, the 16 was very worn-in. Beads were falling off as soon as I opened it up. Many loose strings, but the dress was dark enough that you couldn't tell. Just made me concerned for the fragility of the dress.

I ordered this dress in a 16W but received an email that it was too damaged to send so I received the 18W and two other dresses. The 18W was too big. The dress has a little stretch so a 16W would have hugged my curves and looked great. I am 5'8" and the dress hit me just above the knee. I did not end up wearing this one but would definitely order it again in a smaller size.

The dress is quite a bit darker than pictured on RTR but still just as glamorous. It runs true to size, maybe even a little larger, depending on how you like your fit. I felt beautiful all night and received many compliments. I've rented many times with RTR and will continue to do so. Customer Service is always there for you and the dresses are, quite simply, amazing.

This dress runs VERY large. Wish there was a 14, but the belt helped a lot to define a waste. It was super sparkly and fun!

This dress was in rough shape (several beads were hanging by a thread) and it was huge, but I didn't have a backup plan for my bridal shower so I made it work. It's worth noting that the dress is entirely separate from the sheath/slip underneath. In hindsight, I should have contacted RTR immediately - now I know what to do. I think the dress would have been more flattering if it hadn't been so big. It was modern and yet fit the theme perfectly and it photographed beautifully.

This dress ran a full two sizes two big. I got the 16 because the 14 was unavailable, but a 12 would really have been needed to provide any shape like in the RTR photo. Had it fit, it would be lovely. It's actually a separate slip (black) and over-layer that is more of a knit. And don't be afraid, the slip has some stretch to it. Had it fit, this dress would have been so comfortable to wear, but it was unwearable and I wore my other rental option.

I typically wear a size 14W or 16, but ordered an 18 and 20 in this because I have quite a voluptuous bust and booty, so sheath style dresses are not my best fit. However, since the dress style in the 20's era was more strait and not particularly body hugging, I opted to wear the 20. The dress is actually two pieces... a black slip-like underdress with the woven, beaded overlay being a separate piece. This was another reason I chose the larger size, so it would not rise up at all. There were a few loose beads on this dress, but not really noticeable and it definitely didn't detract from the elegance and beauty. It was PERFECT for our event!

Beautiful dress and very comfortable. It comes in 2 pieces, the black shift and then the beaded over dress. It does run on the larger size, I ended up wearing the smaller of the two sizes and it was still very comfortable. Some of the beading was a bit loose on the dress, but no noticeable tears or anything. This was my first RTR experience and I loved how easy and convenient it all was! Customer Service worked closely with me when the original dress I rented was last minute unavailable to a previous renter's late return. Juliet from RTR was extremely attentive and helped me get another dress that arrived on time. Fabulous customer service!! And so many compliments on this dress. Highly recommend.

This dress fit true to size. I felt like it was a little long for me, even though I am 5'3. It was to my knees. It was perfect for homecoming! Will definitely be renting from RTR again!

Such a fun and comfy dress!! There was a con and it's because a lot of beading is missing on one side

The dress is prettier in person-- the beadwork is gold on black and sparkles more than you can see in the website. The beads do come loose easily, and the dress is a black slip with an overlay of the beaded chiffon. It was super comfortable and conservative enough to wear as a teacher around teenagers for the evening. The gold is very flattering in person. I ordered both an 18W and a 20W and the 18 was still a bit on the large side, although the dress is not clingy so it flowed nicely and was flattering.

So I have a really long back story with this dress, but was very happy with the overall outcome. I ordered the 14W and the 16 W. The 14W was in great condition. The 16W was missing the black dress slip that goes with this dress, and the dress itself looked stretched out, worn, and it was missing beads. I figured, I would try the 14W and if that didn't work, I would call RTR for a replacement dress. The black dress slip was way too tight for comfort, but the actual dress, fit okay. I decided to call RTR to see if they could send me a back up dress just in case. They sent me a replacement dress, which ended up being too small, so I was back to square 1. I looked through my closet and luckily had a very simple, black cotton dress, that I could easily wear under the beaded part of the dress. Throughout the entire process, RTR customer service was excellent and they walked me through everything. After I decided to go with dress 1 (with my own black dress slip) I was very happy and got lots of compliments. Note, it is a shorter dress, so if you wear shaperwear just be aware that you have to have ones that don't go mid-thigh. It is also a lot darker than the model photo. The only reason I did not give this dress a 5 was because the beads were a big issue. I was nervous the whole time they would come off of it easily (as proof of the 16W dress.) The brides sister also accidentally got her bracelet caught on my dress at one point and it was a really difficult task to untangle it. All in all though, this was a really nice dress for this black-tie optional wedding and I got a lot of compliments.

Everyone liked it. It was nice and roomy. It would be a nice go to dress that I would wear again. It wasn't drop dead amazing. But I was pleasantly surprised at the fit.

This was amazingly comfortable, and the length is perfect for shorter women - at 5'3" it hit a few inches above the knee. I wore this paired with a black elbow length cardigan and it worked well. The dress skims over all the problem areas while still being a flattering shape. Only issue was that it's a well-loved dress obviously because both the dresses (size we think we are/size we hope we are) had a major issue with the beading hanging off. I pulled through with a crochet hook and tied off where I could, but that was time consuming. Would I rent this again? Definitely! Would just inspect it on arrival so I'd have a lot more time for repairs if needed. Five stars even with the beading issues should tell you how much I loved this dress!

I wish this had come in a straight 14. The 14W was a bit on the bigger side but it was very comfortable. I am 4'11" and the dress length was just at the top of my knee. It is two pieces a black slip type garment underneath and then the beaded overlay. Very pretty. Some of the beads were loose but no one would ever know it. It is very dressy and perfect for the wedding I was attending. Loved the cap sleeves. This was my first experience with Rent the Runway and I'm hooked!!

Runs big, I normally can wear a 16 or even and 18. The 14 was the perfect size for me, my husband said this is the best dress he's ever seen on me. I was suprised that there was a black lining, then the mesh beaded dress goes over top. it worked great, just didn't expect that.

The fit was very nice and comfy / flowy. I probably could have gone down a size in this but didn't feel like it was too baggy or shapeless in the size I ordered. The beading was very nice and I received many compliments!

This dress was sent to be as a replacement and it was perfect! The black shift underneath smooths and the beaded shift has great sparkle. Not much stretch but there was room through the hips so was great to hid any problem spots.

I wish this dress were available in smaller sizes! I just couldn't resist. I normally wear a 14 but it looked like it would work anyway and it did. I probably could have worn a 12 in this, as it's stretchy and runs large. Cinch it with a gold belt to bring in the waist.

This is a beautiful dress. It's a loose fitting and very comfortable dress with just the right amount of sparkle. Very classy!

I really loved this dress. I wish I had gotten it in the 20w but was quite surprised the 18w fit. The only drawback on this dress is that it hurts to sit on it. I was at a wedding outdoors on hard plastic chairs and the dress left quite an impression on me. I would rent it again in the 20 for comfort sake.

The dress was very comfortable and I paired it with a three-quarter length black sweater. I really liked it. It's not a form-fitting dress at all and I would say it's quite modest.

I got this as a back up for the other RTW dress I rented (and ended up wearing). I am a 12/14 normally and I suspected the 14W would be too big and it was. It is actually 2 pieces (a slip and then overlay) - which was interesting and practical. I would have loved to try it in a straight up 12 or 14.

Great dress, runs a bit large, but the fit is very nice and comfortable. The dress could use some maintenance, some of the beading was loose, but nothing too noticeable.

This is a gorgeous dress. It has a bit of jazz without being overkill. Be forewarned that the style on this is boxy. I have quite a bit of curve which helps. If I had thin gold belt, I would have worn it to give it more shape. I have large hips with a 38/40 DD bust, and a little waist. It does run large. I am an 18 and ended up wearing the 16W, which was even a smidge big, but perfect for a wedding. If you get this dress, don't be afraid if some of the beads fall off....when I initially tried it off I heard beads hitting the hardwood even as I was taking it off the hanger. Still a gorgeous dress with missing beads.

I ordered sizes 16W & 18W. The 16W fit nicely; however, it was too short for my 5'11" frame so I went with the 18W dress instead. Nice shimmer on the dress; however, some of the beading was a bit loose.
