This dress was an absolute hit at my friend's recent black tie wedding! It is unconventional, cool yet elegant. The A-line and stiff netting makes the dress standout, literally! I was very comfortable all night long! Pictures truly do not do this dress justice. I wish I could own a dress like this, and look forward to renting again. SHOWSTOPPER!

The material is thick almost scuba like so it is forgiving. The top is large enough for larger chests and does not bind. I am about a 36 c/d and it fit fine - however I would suggest fashion tape to keep the bare shoulder in place. I am not short wasted but I could have taken the strap up just a bit to hold things more securely. Make sure you have a large safety pin. The snap on the inside can come undone if you sit on the train. This dress makes a statement - short but has a train in the back for a bit of drama. This dress is so very comfortable - I would highly recommend it.

had an RTR expert choose my size in the soho showroom. Worth the trip! they were the best!!! Apparently it's some crazy euro sizing, I'm glad I didn't have to figure it out, they nailed it for me. The RTR expert was able to see which size I needed from that experience even though they didn't have my size in house and I ordered it all in the showroom. It was a huge leap of faith but they chose the size perfectly, and it was better than I could've imagined. There is one flaw in the design. The skirt is a wrap, and to hold it in place there is one interior snap. the snap is dicey, pops open... so I just put a safety pin there. Safety pin held it in place and it never moved once.

My specs: I'm 5'1" ~135 lbs, 36B/28/36. I usually wear a 6 in fitted dresses, 4 in stretchy dresses. Small in tops. S-M for bottoms. Love this dress. Very different, cute, fun, edgy, and comfortable. I love the idea of it being long and short at the same time. Putting it on was interesting too, it opens up all way up so it can almost be laid flat on the floor as one single layer. The torso zips closed and the skirt wraps around and is secured by a hidden "button." I tried on the 6. I have a short torso so where the waist of the dress hits mine makes all the patterned material above it bunch up in the front and the back. A little loose at the top even with the use of a pushup bra. For my height, the pointy tip of the bottom of the dress is an 1"-2" from the floor in a 5" heel. I intend to try the size down if it's available. Update: I tried the size 4 and it would not zip in the back at all. Sad that I'm able to wear this unique dress.

The dress fit well, however the snap that holds it in place is not to be trusted. If you are renting this dress, I would highly recommend securing it with safety pins before you go out. Additionally, the line where the fabric meets the mesh irritated my skin slightly. For those two reasons I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars, but overall I loved it. Very stylish and different. I wore this to a wedding in California, and RTR shipped it directly to my hotel. I was definitely worried that it would not be there when I arrived, but they nailed it. So convenient!

The dress looks different and much better on the body than on the hanger- once you have it on, the sheerness at the legs shows. The only drawback to the dress is the way you put it on- it was really hard to put on with no help- it wrapped and pinned 2x at the back, in addition to a back zipper. The narrow waist added to the challenge. Frustrating to put on but once on, stunning. perfect to show off legs!

To start off with, this dress is so unique and modern. While I didn't end up wearing it to my event because it was just a back up dress, I did really like it. The shorter dress with the tulle longer skirt is so different and it really combines the look of a formal gown with a short dress very well. The material is stretchy and so the top was slightly loose on me. The skirt is very stiff and so it will stick out a bit. I also recommend pinning the button for the skirt closed as it tends to pop open easily. Overall, great dress just not what I was looking for

I really loved this dress and received many compliments on it. The only thing I would say is it does run a tad small, particularly if you have bigger breasts. I typically wear either a size 8 or 10 & with this dress I wore a size 12

I wore this dress to an awards dinner and I had so many people that went out of their way to come up and compliment me! It was super flattering and pretty comfortable. I wish I would have went one size down as it was a little big on top (material is stretchy), only thing I didn't care for was that the inside of the bottom where the seam was was a bit itchy!

The dress was a nice, thick material and was a style that flatters women with small waists and large hips/thighs. I'm short-waisted so the top of the dress was a bit long, but I was able to make it work. Overall, it was a beautiful dress and was comfortable to wear for the evening.

#1 stunner black dress!!! This was my back up dress, and thank goodness I had it, because the colorful Marchesa lace number I intended to wear to summer wedding was not at all letting me zip my curvy bottom half inside of it! LOL Wearing black to a wedding is not my style, but this particular dress was whimsical enough to pass as a fun black dress option. Sizing is European so I went with 12, which equaled about an 8. The neoprene material was the best quality and felt buttery-soft to the touch; the scratchiness where it met the see-through bottom was not as pleasant, however, not so unpleasant as to negate the overall beautiful quality and uniqueness of the dress. The true wrap-around skirt with asymmetrical hem was great, and secured well, staying in place all day/evening. I paired the dress with 3-D colorful flower block heels, black & white earrings, a pink lip, and a high ponytail, which was SO ME. I wish it came in additional colors. RENT THIS ONE!!

This dress fit great!!! I am 5'6" 150 lbs and wore the 12r it is euro sizing which is a size 8. Loved it!!!

I loved this dress and it really looked great on and the "sheer" bottom is more black than sheer which helped to give the appearance of more length. I am 5'9" and curvy (34DDD, size 10 pants) and wore the 12 which I still found to be a little tight on around my chest. I wore a basic strapless bra but felt I had zero room to keep the dress up and the bra on.... If the event was not work related I would have worn some pasties and been a million times more comfortable. This dress does have some stretch where it's the "scuba" material and it's think so it's perfect for the winter parties. I didn't find the seam between the scuba material and the sheer material to be too much of a bother but you can feel the seam and it does poke a bit. I can't even explain the "twist" in the back where other reviewers have also mentioned and advised using a safety pin to get the dress to stay on. Until you've got the dress on for a bit and feel how it "falls" you can't really get the pinning done correctly. I knew of the issue with the dress so packed a couple of safety pins and fixed the dress later in the evening with the help of a co-worker. The beauty of this dress is the originality but that also means you might need to get creative to make it hang just right on your frame. Overall I would rent this dress again!

I wore this to my company christmas party and it was ideal. It was stylish and also edgy at the same time being appropriate for a company party.

Scuba type material is very comfortable and stretchy. Unique lines of the dress made this much more than a "little black dress" and stand out at our event! I felt great in this dress even after just having twins. Wore the larger of the two sizes to give a little more flare at the stomach area under the waist. The top portion of the dress is a bit roomy, but I am small chested. I ended up temporarily shortening the strap at the back of the dress which made the fit a lot better and me feel very comfortable!

I wore the bigger size I chose, 14 R, which is equivalent to a 12 US. I believe I could have worn the smaller 12R (10 US) size, but I would have needed assistance getting it zipped. As it is, I had to turn it around and start the zipper, and then twist it back in place to get it zipped up all the way. What has been said in other reviews is true. The snap on the skirt does not hold at all, but I was able to use the eye hook deal and it held all night without any assistance. I did not wear a bra with it and was comfortable all night. It's also very forgiving, in that I did not use any Spanx or other type of undergarment and felt like there were no pronounced bumps or bulges. I would definitely rent this dress again. It was beautiful!

I would rent this dress again but maybe in a smaller size. The top was a bit big on me thought I am a 32D with a smaller back measurement. The fabric was great, thick and well constructed. Very cool, interesting, good with nylons or bare legs. LOVED it!

This dress was awesome! I loved the different fabrics and details. On my short frame it's length looked sophisticated but it's style made it a edgy. There was a little bunching in the torso so if your short with an exceptionally short torso this will probably not work. I loved the silhouette it created. The fabric had give to it so comfort was not a problem. I wore a strapless bra with it no problem. My only complaint is that where the bottom net material met the fabric the edges of the netting were poking through and they rubbed my legs as I walked. At first this was only irritating but as the night went on it literally scratched me raw and hurt like I was 2hrs into a tattoo season I have the broken capillaries to prove it.

This dress, thanks to other reviewers fit perfectly! I was able to navigate which size I would need, which was perfect! Others have said you need to pin the skirt since it pops open. It appears they have added a clasp so this does not happen at all. The dress has a lot of give which is nice and is definitely made for larger chests! It was easy to dance in and I didn't have to fuss with it at all. I got so many compliments since it was such a standout dress!! Would definitely wear again!!

I wore this to a rehearsal dinner with 3 inch heels for my son's wedding in New York City. The dress is gorgeous and I received many complements-even people stopping me on the street to comment on how different this dress was. The seam where the dress meets the crinoline is scratchy especially while sitting. Runs true to size. It was a bit tricky to put on so an extra pair of hands is helpful. Overall, so happy I ordered this dress-would do it again!

I am 5'5", 165lbs, and usually wear 10-12 in dresses. This dress runs very small and the 14 fit me perfectly. I ordered the 12 and 14. The 14 ended up being the only one that arrived. Luckily it fit perfectly!!! The dress was more amazing in person than in pictures. Where the mesh meets the satin material at the mid thigh, it's really rough. Towards the end of the night, I had a mild "rug burn" from the rubbing. Overall, the dress was amazing and easy to dance/move around in. I would absolutely recommend to others and would wear again.

The snap on the waist kept coming undone so I would suggest a stronger hook or something vs a snap

This dress is a show stopper! I got so many head turns, compliments, and photos taken. Best dressed of the night, no question. It fit perfectly, true to size. I'm usually a petit but didn't need it for this dress. Comfortable, I could move in it, but sexy as hell. Didn't need a bra. Wore 4 inch heels.

So many compliments on this dress! True to size. I took the advice of other reviewers and put prophylactic safety pins on the back zipper and on the wrap skirt just in case. It was a comfortable dress the entire night. I needed to iron the mesh skirt before I wore it but it didn't wrinkle while being worn. The top of the dress holds you in well; it's a thick almost neoprene scuba suit like material. I was very pleased with everything about this dress!

I normally don't choose black, but rented this for a black and white party. I got tons of compliments from people I didn't know. It was a great conversation starter! It was also very comfortable (stretchy material). The cons - the dress came with one snap to hold the skirt together, I had to go to the RTR store (luckily a few blocks away) to have them help me add a few safety pins. I would not have felt secure with the one snap. Also, there is no hook on the top of the zipper that holds the top together - so I had to remember to rezip myself because the zipper kept sliding down. Best to add a pin there too. Despite the above, the cut of the dress was FABULOUS! I will be renting David Koma again.

Definitely recommend double-sided tape around the sleeveless side. Also, I noticed when using the restroom the snap sometimes came undone. Next-time around, I'd have used a safety pin to add some extra security there.

Beautiful dress, got so many compliments. It was definitely an interesting cut and I needed help getting into it (the bottom of the dress essentially opens up and lays flat). The fabric was thick enough to go bra-less. The top was very comfortable, but I had to take off a star for the bottom. The dress hem is stiff mesh to provide structure, but since it's not sealed, it was cutting into me whenever I was sitting. For such an expensive price point, you'd think the designer would know better than to leave sharp fabrics exposed.

The one I received had a good snap plus a hook and eye to secure the wrap (a problem mentioned in other reviews). It felt secure. It's UK sizing, so this 14 fit me well (usually an 8 or 10; wide rib cage, athletic shoulders, straight build). As other reviews pointed out, the seam where the scuba material meets the skirt is definitely rough. This dress seems like it would be a good fit for most shapes, but it did show any "extra" around the hips, so Spanx are a good addition. Material is tight and thick enough that I didn't need a bra. Overall, flattering. Backup dress; didn't wear, but once again, tremendous RTR customer service .

I normally wear a 6 or 8. I have never been happier thaf my size wasnt available! The definitely runs small. My boyfriend's sister ordered the same dress. She normally wears a 2-4 and the 8 wouldnt fit her. I received compliments all night long and was so comfortable. Would absolutely rent again!

Had a ton of compliments on this unique dress. Some criticisms: the back zipper does this "wavy" thing so that the dress seems like it's too small for you. (I tried the larger one to alleviate this issue and it didn't make a difference.) I agree with other reviewers that this definitely shows some stomach flaws if you have any - I was sucking in for most of the night! But still had a great time twirling in this fun dress. Stats: 32DD, too heavy hourglass, 130lb 5,5"

This dress is a really unique cut and fabric, but the skirt was scratchy so I did not wear. Off-the-shoulder neckline means wear a strapless bra. Fitted in the waist and flared skirt means good for hourglass and pear shapes. I am broad-shouldered and this dress fit me fine up top. Really the only drawback to this fabulous style is the scratchy skirt which was surprisingly painful.

I would say the 8r fits like a 2. Also, make sure you have help getting dressed... The dress wraps and zips in the back so it's almost impossible to get on alone :)

Photographs very well. Cons: As others have mentioned part of the dress wraps around and fastens into a snap but it does not hold well. A safety pin is absolutely necessary otherwise your back half will be exposed. Thankfully I was prepared after reading the reviews and deciding to give it a try and it stayed in place all night just fine. The skirt part of the dress is a little stiff which some may find uncomfortable when sitting. I forgot about it after a couple of minutes. Overall, I would definitely rent this dress again. I felt so pretty and this goes beyond your basic LBD.
