I wore rhis to my work Christmas party and it was perfect! I’m 5’2”, 120lbs, 34B- I isually wear 2P but this fit very well despite not being a petite dress. If you have a fuller chest there was plenty of room. I added a belt to define the waist a bit. Would definitely recommend this dress!

Belted a peplum & pinned a satin bow to the shoulder to 80s-up this dress for an 80s Prom fundraiser for my daughter's school. I have broad shoulders and though I'd usually wear a 10, the 12 was needed.

I really loved this dress! It ran a bit small, especially since it is velvet and doesn't have any give to it. It was a challenge to put on because of the way it is made, but so worth it! I'm 5'6 and change, and it was a little short when I sat down, but not obscenely so. The dress is classy and beautiful. I got tons of compliments!

This dress was perfect for dressing up in the winter because the velvet material was really warm. The sleeves near the puffy shoulders were really itchy but I easily fit a long sleeve thermal underneath to cover the itchy part and also stay extra warm. I would suggest sizing up because the dress doesnt have a lot of give. I got a ton of complimens and loved wearing this dress!

This dress was amazing, the fabric was thick but not restricting. Im 5'11 and it was not too short (which is difficult to find). The puffy sleeves added a little fun to this otherwise timeless dress.

Loved this dress! The puffy sleeves, the fit and construction of this dress made it perfect for a holiday party. As kthwrs reviewed there is no give in the fabric but i ordered a size up and it worked perfectly! Loved everything about it.

Very nice material and elegant. Im 5'9" 200pounds 38ddd curvy. I really liked this dress but didn't love it simple because it was a bit snugged and short. I suggest going a size up.

This dress is classy but with a funky edge because of the structural sleeve poofs. I loved wearing this to a benefit/gala and got lots of compliments. My only complaint is that the zipper is NOT smooth or easy to maneuver. It sticks and gets caught in the lining on the way up-- I had to get some to help me get in and out of it. All in all a great rental though!

The zero fit perfectly. The length was great on me (I'm 5'2") - short enough to be a little sexy but not so short I was worried about sitting or bending over. The sleeve length was also great. I wore it out to the theatre and felt very classy and appropriate. The long sleeves were nice in the air-conditioning and also for the fall weather; I didn't need to carry a jacket or a wrap. The dress is very black though, so you might want sparkly or bright-colored accessories to accentuate the look.

I loved wearing this dress. The sleeves make it very unique but still a classic. The velvet is so soft! Wore with black suede wedges for a powerful look.

To me, this dress looked more navy than black, but it was a rich, dark color that was very luxurious looking! It definitely runs big, so I'd recommend sizing down. At 5'5", it hit about 2-3 inches above my knee. I didn't think the sleeves were quite as puffy as in the photo, and the dress was nice and warm. Perfect for a Winter occasion!

Doesn't have much give but I love this dress! I ended up not wearing it because it was 90 degrees out that day! Would rent agin!

Loved this dress! BUT - there is absolutely no stretch to the fabric and it rides up when sitting. Not awesome for a long day at the office, but definitely cute for a costume party or a night out. I love the sleeve details and the fabric. I wore it for Halloween and would rent again.

I rented this and another dress for a party and ended up liking the other one better so I just wore this to work, which isnt really the best venue for it - its sort of too short and tight to be comfortable for all day. This kind of fitted short style isnt really my thing but its what rtr is perfect for, so I wish I'd had somewhere betterto wear it. There is no stretch so the arm/shoulder area is a little restricted (probably not great for dancing). On my hourglass body, as usual for this silhouette, it was fairly tight in the hips and thighs but not at all in the waist. Not super short but a few inches above the knee, and hikes up short when sitting. The quality is great - really plush, ink-black velvet with a few special accents like the covered buttons at the cuffs and the puffed shoulders. All in all a very nice dress for a cocktail party.

Rented this for a work cocktail party at a country club - was different enough to not be a boring LBD. The sleeves/ shoulders and velvet put it on the "right" side of conservative for me, although it wasn't edgy enough for me to rent again. The sleeves fit a bit big for a 2, but the chest and bottom fit true to size for a 2. Not much give in it but was still comfortable.

This dress was super flattering and I got lots of compliments. It was a tad tight around my legs but everywhere else was great. It's all velvet so def not a good dress for summer or hotter weather. Great for cooler evenings

I'm glad I sized up it ran a little small no room or stretch. Only thing that is a con is that the zipper portion was a struggle it looked as though it has been rented various times and fixed. Other than that it was a showstopper!

As I read another reviews the proof on the sleeve is not too big, it looks perfect with this dress. The velvet is very nice quality. It was not too short. I wore it with leopard booties and it was very comfortable.

The dress fit the theme with class and elegance without being too retro. It was nice to wear a warm dress in winter, that still allowed me to move!

Didn't fit, will try a size up next time.

I love this dress so much I wish I could have kept it. I wore it for a fall family event and it was perfect. I ordered the 4 but because I wasn't sure about the fit, I got the 2 as the backup. The 4 was just big enough around the waist that it felt/looked boxy, and the 2 fit perfectly. I wore it with black heels and a large sparkly bib necklace and I felt great. The velvet is beautiful and luxurious. My only regret is not getting pictures in it.

Very cute dress, though not as cinched in the waist as I would have liked, it fit nicely and was very comfortable for a daytime party in chilly Chicago. I would recommend it and would rent it again.

Great for dressing up or down! I felt this ran a little large - I would recommend sizing down. There is no stretch to this. It is slightly fitted in the bust and works best with A to C bust sizes. Any standard bra may be worn with this! This dress is fitted at the natural waist but allows for comfortable room in the hips. It comes to about mid-thigh length on a 5'4" person. I would pair this with black heels and statement earrings or necklace!

This dress was great for blending in. It fit comfortably (maybe size down for your back up) and it seemed to be flattering.

I was so sad that this didn't fit. I normally wear a size 12, but had seen reviews that this runs small. Even the 14 was so tight and the material has no give, so I didn't want to risk damaging the zipper or dress. Such a bummer, since this dress actually look great.

I needed a dress in a pinch and ordered this in a 2 hoping for the best - I couldn't even zip it up! This dress is super cute but runs really tiny. The top fit okay but it was extremely tight on my hips (I'm small chested and somewhat hip-y). One of the buttons on the sleeve was also missing. Sad that the sizing didn't work out - cute winter dress though!

So...have you seen the classic 80's movie Working Girl? Melanie Griffith with all that hair and lots of black velvet? That's how I felt in this dress. It's SUCH a weird fit. I am apple shaped (so definitely not small in the shoulder) and this was weirdly too wide in that area. The sleeves need to be more fitted at the wrist in order to pull off the puffed shoulder. The length was fine for my height but I could see it being really short on a tall person. I would also add this would not be good for someone short waisted as the waist is fitted and the interest in the dress comes from the shoulder shape - if that shoulder isn't in the right spot on you, it won't look good. I'm actually not sure who this would look good on...
