The striking contrast of black and white with strategically placed cutouts to reveal the white I inner fabric or just the perfect amount of skin made this dress the talk of the night. There were too many compliments to count.

Love d the key hole in the front and that it is a long and short dress at the same time.

I love Helmut Lang and am so glad I rented this dress for my girlfriend's birthday party. It was a Black & White party, so I thought this was a refreshing and fashion forward take on a LBD. Not only was it super comfortable, but great for a dinner party since it was not constricting. I decided to belt it since I'm curvier and tend to look a little lumpy in shapeless dresses. Loved it and would rent it again and again!

I think this is perfect for someone tall. I was working this event and I was able to stay cool and not worry about creasing or wrinkles. I was also able to go braless-- always a plus!

I would recommend sizing down as the material is very stretchy.

I would buy this dress in a hearbeat if it went on sale on RTR- it's so comfortable and sophisticated. I was also 4 months post partum and it hit the lingering bump really well :)

Loving this modern silhouette by Helmut Lang. The stretchy jersey material makes it an easy, true to size fit. I tried the size small which definitely worked, but I would have preferred the XS. Even with the small cutout you can still wear a standard bra with this style. It's also easy to dress up or down! Swap out your daytime heeled boots for strappy black stilettos for a night out!

Loved this. The dress made the look seem effortless- it was classy and edgy at the same time. Tons of compliments. Easy to wear and extremely comfortable. The material is thinner than I expected; it didn't feel cheap, it just showed the hip area a bit more than I expected when I moved because of the way it draped (as opposed to a thick, tighter dress that would stay with your body lines when you moved). Overall, I felt confident and happy in the dress.

It fit great, looked great and was perfect balance of classy and modern. Perfect if you want to look put together, but not dressed to the nines.

I really loved this dress. It runs big, I am typically a 2/4 and the small worked for me but I probably could have gone down to the XS. I didn't wear a bra with this because it peaked out of the hole but you could probably make one work with a little fashion tape.

Fit was larger than I expected. Should have ordered a medium. It was larger in the hip region than I wanted but still enjoyed the dress. The fabric was great - very light, comfortable, stretchy. Almost had a sheen to it - like it was mercerized. Really a great dress. R length was perfect w heels.

I ordered a medium but I should have ordered a small. It was a little big but I still loved it! The material is so lovely and comfortable. I wore this with little black booties to a casual birthday party.

I loved this dress!! It was ridiculously comfortable. The fabric is light and stretchy, but not very forgiving in hiding body flaws. Some spanx definitely went a long way for me. :) This is a great day to night dress. I wore this dress with some lower chunky heels, glasses and a simple necklace for work. Then I ditched the glasses and transitioned to higher, two strap Vince heels, a belt and the Jules Smith Revealing Choker necklace (that I also got from RTR) for a date after work. This is a piece I would love to have in my closet to wear regularly.

Beware that the cut out hole in the center will show your bra. I had try on several of my bras before I found one that would work, and even then I had to keep adjusting where the cut-out fell so my bra didn't show. Also, the dress did arrived wrinkled and cannot be ironed, so I ran out and bought a steamer which worked great.

I got the MR in this dress because the dress I was supposed to get had been returned in too poor quality to go to me. Bummer. RTR was kind enough to send me 2 other dresses, as options were rather slim at such a late date. I'm usually a 6, so if I had rented this on my own, I would have gone with the Small. But the Medium was all that was available so I gave it a shot. Good news: The dress is stretchy and super comfortable. It's all one piece and just slips on. Bad news: It runs big. If it had fit, I definitely would have worn it, it just looked a bit like a sack on me. I do think I'll try it another time in the right size though :) Oh, and at 5'6", the regular length was perfect with heels. Definitely wouldn't have gone for a long in this one.

I love this dress - it's so flattering. It's edgy but still formal enough to wear to a wedding. Super comfy as well. So sad that RTR isn't stocking this one anymore :(

Love the fit of this. The kind of bra you wear (if you do) is important because the cutout at the top goes kind of high, which looks great, but makes bra matching a little more difficult. Also, its made mostly of rayon, so it's incredibly thin. I rented this at the beginning of April in Chicago and was FREEZING, so definitely something to wear if you'll either be inside the entire time or if you're somewhere warmer. This is a great dress for anyone who has a similar body type, I just loved the way it didn't accentuate my small chest or bottom (something I'm more self-conscious about) and just draped really nicely, but I bet it would also look amazing on someone who has wider hips, too. A+

Incredibly unique. Conservative but edgy with the hint of skin in the torso area. Paired the dress with coral d'orsay pumps to add a splash of color to the black and white palette. I usually bounce between XS and S for dresses. I wound up wearing the small, and it was a bit snug on me since I have hips, and this is made of stretchy material. I think this dress ultimately would work for women with straight figures. I don't think it worked perfectly with my body, but I still loved the dress. If you're curvy, it will definitely cling to your body and the geometric aesthetic may not work with curves. All in all, a very cool rental. It definitely stood out.

Very chic dress. Easy to dress up with a belt and stilettos or wear casually with heeled sneakers. I loved it! Extremely comfortable.

This dress is super cool. I looked very professional/sophisticated in this. Since it does show a little stomach in the front, I didn't actually wear it to my ultra-conservative office, but when I arrived at my dinner party, everyone thought I had just come from work. It's very comfortable and fits loosely without being baggy. The length was awesome for a tall girl, the white of the dress hit just above my knee.

Fit perfectly. Dressy without looking like you are trying too hard.

I cannot rave enough about this dress!!! I selected it as a replacement to my original order which was not available to ship, however only the backup size actually showed up. I was so sad because this dress is stunning. It is so subtle and smartly designed. The white geometric aspects create a visual that distracts from body problem areas while the cutout in the midriff draws the eye to it and away from the lower belly area. It is the perfect baby bump hiding dress. I didn't wear it because the large was just a little to big and I felt it would lessen the potential impact of a proper fit. I highly recommend this dress without even knowing what the right size looks like on me because I can just tell its a dress that anticipates any body insecurities a woman may have and makes her feel gorg. Intuitive construction, hugs the right places, edgy and sexy. A plus.

Fell in love with this classic chic Helmut Lang piece. Flattering silhouette with a high-low cut, making it perfect for work and play. I wore this to meetings, drinks and a family reunion. The proportions and length are best suited to a taller woman, but the shape is forgiving so it could work for a range of body types. The dress lends itself well to a minimalist look, or kick it up a notch with bold accessories.

I wore this dress to an art fundraiser. I was looking for edgy, but as a 35 yo with two young kids, I knew my limits. This dress was amazing. The non wrinkly fabric hung well, but didn't cling. The peep of skin was appropriately below my bra and above my belly. It was crisp, modern, and I felt very confident in it. Wish I owned it! The medium was a little large under the arms, but nothing some fabric tape couldn't help. I highly recommend this dress!
