I wore this dress for headshots, a wedding, then a dinner theatre (yes, all in the same day). The fabric hugged my body, but never in a restricting way. It was so comfortable! It is a bit of a warmer fabric, but given that I usually run a little colder, it was okay for me. The top was more of a cowl-neck than a v-neck like the picture showed, but oh well. This dress was great and I received compliments on it all night long. It has a little strech to it so it's easy move around and super comfortable. I wore spanx to smooth everything out, but the dress is very flattering with rouching over the stomach area to hide any little flaws. Bonus - the black side panneling is extremely slimming!

The dress was perfect for dinner and drinks. It was very comfortable and flattering because of the black panels on the sides. It did run a little big (I'm usually a 2) but it would have been ok if the dress was a little big also because of the draping. Got tons of compliments!

I LOVE this dress! The way the fabric lays is super flattering and it hides any figure flaws. The neckline and hemline of the dress are both really interesting and made the dress super chic. I also loved the black paneling down the sides because it was very slimming. Overall, I love this dress and because there is stretch to it, it is really easy and comfortable!

I wore this dress on New Year's Eve and loved it. It's super comfy and I got tons of compliments on it. Helmut Lang is pretty much my go-to brand for edgy, modern pieces and this dress was no exception. The picture doesn't look very good but the dress is very flattering. The size 4 and 6 fit almost identically which led me to believe that the 4 may be slightly stretched out. So if you're a small 4 or sometimes wear a 2, go for the 2.

I am very broad in the shoulders and somewhat muscular for my petite frame. I needed the 4 to fit in the shoulders and torso comfortably.

Comfortable stretchy fabric for an evening at a charity event with lots of eating & dancing. Second rental from RTR--can't wait to do it again!

This was my first time renting from Rent the Runway. The dress was absolutely wonderful. Part of the reason I chose it was because of it's name, the Heart Pumping Dress. It was perfect for a Valentine's Day event. One side of the dress is shorter than the other and it does ride up on the thigh. Thank you Rent the Runway.

The fabric on this dress was heavier than I expected, but that was fine since it was a cold night. I was torn between the 6 and the 8, I felt like the 6 was a bit too tight (especially in the hips) and the 8 was a bit too loose. In the end I wore the 8, but my husband thought they both looked good. I loved that I could wear a regular bra with this dress. The biggest negative is that both dresses definitely looked worn, I don't think anyone would notice unless they looked very close but the fabric had obviously been laundered multiple times. All in all I was very happy with the dress, and I did get a random compliment from another customer at the restaurant.

Perfect for a benefit auction, dinner and dancing. Classy & sophisticated for a 50+ yr old, ok to eat in because of the fabric gathers at the waist, and comfortable for dancing . The RtR experience was great; everything worked as planned. The dress was in fine shape (as were the backup size and 2nd dress). I wore a jet bead necklace and red patent pumps. Got several compliments from other women, my husband loved it, and I was so glad not to be part of the sea of black.

I actually picked this dress last minute when the one I originally ordered became unavailable for my rental date. I was quite please when I received this one. I wore it to a company holiday party. The asymetrical hem is more drastic than it looks in the picture, but in a good way. The short side was shorter than I expected, but I also have bigger legs to fill out the dress. The long side came just above the knee. I actually wore it with sheer black stockings, although this pic shows me without them. Overall was fun a comfortable!

My husband couldn't keep his hands off me, and I didn't even think this dress was particularly sexy. In fact I wore it to work with tights and conservative pumps, then changed to boots for after-work drinks. The material feels great. The ruching in front is flattering. The asymmetric neckline is unique. The black along the sides is slimming. I'd be happy to rent it again!

Rented this dress for a night out at the theater. The positives were how well it fit and how comfortable it was. I didn't expect the material to be so cottony. I thought it would have a more satin finish. Also the pleat at the stomach makes the picture look more crumply than the dress really is. Overall, the dress worked and I felt great, just wasn't exactly what I expected.

This dress was perfect for a semi formal event I attended. The fabric had some give which fit my curves really well. I felt confident and comfortable all night

This dress is a super soft material, it is worn if you look close but fine in a darker crowded room. It is a very unique cut and print.

Loved the fit on this dress. Hugged the curves on the bottom and I could wear a regular bra with the cut on top. Super comfy for a wedding. I wish I could have kept the dress! (so does my husband!)

I didn't end up wearing this as it wasn't flattering to my body type. I think it would look great on someone with more curves but I have very few curves and the dress wasn't helping me out at all. I also have slightly wide shoulders and because the dress hit at the outermost point of the shoulders this made my shoulders look even wider than they are. So I did not wear this one.

This dress fit very well in my normal size. The material itself was comfortable but the dress kept riding up so I kept pulling it down all night. The shorter side of the dress didn't hide my spandex (which covered mid to upper thigh) when I sat down. I was overall happy with the way it looked on me, but I wouldn't rent it again.

I love Helmut Lang and this dress was no exception. The material is comfortable and not restrictive. The pattern is eye-catching without being too flashy, and the cut is interesting but still flattering. It's the kind of dress that works well when you don't know how dressed up to be. I wouldn't say it's a WOW dress, it's a bit more subdued, but it hits the perfect tone for me where not only am I physically comfortable in it, but I also just feel relaxed and myself in it. I could see myself wearing this dress a lot if I owned it

This dress was fabulous. I wore it to my husbands 40th birthday and got lots of compliments. I often wear a 6 but went with the 8 on this one because I'm a little hippy and it's a little snug in the hips, the 6 was perfect for me. Great dress, would rent it again.

I wore this to a fundraiser Wine Tasting event. I combined the dress with black sheer stockings and sleek high heel booties for a modern look--it was fabulous!

I would rent this again - very comfortable and flattering. color is beautiful and complimentary to coomplexion. well made and chic!

I always head straight to the traditional LBDs and decided to step out of my comfort zone with this one. We had two parties on the same night -- one at a trendy downtown restaurant, the other at a home in the ritzy part of town, and this dress was appropriate for both venues. The dress is comfortable and stunning without being over the top. It's quite beautiful in person. The black side panels give a slimming affect and help it to fit just-so. Many women complimented me on the dress and they were specifically drawn to the muted print being paired with black side panels -- the two complement each other without taking away from the lively print. I ordered a size 4 and size 6 and didn't even try on the 4 as the 6 fit comfortably. The fabric has a slight give and the neckline lays very well. I would encourage anyone who feels stuck in the black dress mode to try this dress for a change of pace. I'm used to accessorizing a LBD. When this dress showed up I kind of panicked. The panic was short-lived as I dug into my closet for ideas. In the end I paired it with black tights and black booties (and a very plain J Crew black cardigan, which I didn't wear at the restaurant but did at the home party) and it was not only comfortable but weather appropriate! There are many ways to dress this up or down. I also considered wearing tights with black boots, but I loved the way the booties added to the edginess of the dress. ** Sorry -- we didn't get any pictures of me in the dress!! ** I'm 6-foot and this dress is shorter than what I usually wear, but with tights I didn't feel self-conscious at all.

This dress is soft and edgy. I rented a 2 and 4 and only the 2 was shipped. It was too small but i think the 4 would have been perfect. RTR sent me a new dress in 24 hours and it was stunning too. I would recommend this dress and may try to rent it again for my next party!

Wore this to work the week after a vacation, and it was great. Got lots of compliments on the cut and colors. Very flattering. The only reason I'm giving it four instead of five stars is that it would be more flattering on someone with a fuller chest. It was still great, but would have been a knockout if I could have filled it out a bit more. Oh well.

I received this in my backup size only, which was a bigger size, and it was too big, but my actual size likely would have fit. Not formal material, it's a matte jersey, and was a little pilled, but the lines are darling.

This dress is comfortable, slimming and fun to wear. Looks best with sheer black stockings and high heels.

The size 6 was a bit stretch out in the bust and really all over the top. Very pretty hemline. Wush I had sized down.

Great dress. It was very comfortable. I rented it as a back up dress for a high school theatre banquet. Although I didn't wear it to the banquet, I was able to wear it to brunch on Mother's Day. Very flattering to most body types. I wore the 6 to make room for the extra food I would be eating at brunch. :) The 4 fit perfectly for any other occasion.

This dress was super comfortable. I loved the neckline, it was very sexy. The hem is eye catching and not something you see on every dress. My usual size 10 wasn't available so I took a chance and ordered the 8. Because of the stretch of the material, it worked. My husband loved the way it hugged my curves. The dress was in good shape, the only negative was it seemed like it had been worn a lot. Tiny pills all over the dress but since this is a rental and not new, that's to be expected. RTR service was excellent and easy.

It has black panels on the sides which are slimming. The V-neck of the dress and the uneven hem of the dress make it quite sexy. I would love to own this dress.

Beautiful dress, however seemed a little too short for my liking (I am almost 6 ft tall). If you are tall, straight and thin may not be the right dress for you. This was my back up dress, so ended up wearing something else.

This seems like it could be lightweight but the back and sides are made of a woolly material that is actually quite warm. A bit heavy for September but will be great in the Fall and Winter! Got a ton of compliments, very sexy fit.
