As others mentioned, the sleeves are extremely awkward. I actually ended up deciding to wear the dress backwards (as pictured on the model) because it looked and felt a little less awkward that way. It did it's job though and worked perfectly for my Line Sister's Breakfast at Tiffany's bridal shower. Not sure I'd rent again if there was a less awkward sleeve Herve option but definitely a cute dress, if not completely functional.

Fits like a glove, but surprisingly forgiving. Has a little band that you can't see in the stock photo that helps pull in your waist *even if you don't have one like me.* I'm built pretty athletic but am pretty bottom heavy. My boyfriend loved it and even the other adults (young and old) had compliments. The zipper is a bit fussy & the bottom of the zipper looked like it had some wear & tear. Would & most likely will rent this dress again. I have a long torso & short legs- perfect length. Was worried that the medium would either be too small or too big. FIT PERFECT. The top was a bit big but no one could tell. I see what other people mean by the low arm pits. Its an extra design flare that I enjoyed. Did not find it awkward at all. I think if you were less busty it may be a problem.

Perfect for a date night -- I wore this to celebrate our 6 month wedding anniversary with dinner in NYC. I paired this with a classic black louboutin pump but think it would work well with a colorful pump!

I LOVED wearing this dress!!! Since I'm just 5ft, the dress fell a little bit longer on me...about mid-thigh, but eventually, I was grateful for the extra length because I have really curvy hips and the fitting fabric would ride up. So if you are curvy, beware of that. I wear a 6 or 8, and the medium was fine. I would have maybe gone for the small, just so it could fit my waist better, but overall the dress fit me like a glove. Also, I have a large bust and can't do the bra-less thing, so I was definitely grateful that I could wear a regular bra with it. Just make it's a black bra because if the armholes are a little large on you, the side of the bra might show. Overall, absolutely loved it

wore this dress to a wedding with the clear drop earrings and yellow brick road clutch. i got compliments all night long on the outfit and it was perfect for the occasion.

This dress was gorgeous. Herve Leger is always amazing, but this one is a bit different than the rest. Very elegant. Great for day or night. The only thing to watch for, if you are large chested and have to wear a bra like me: the arm holes are very large and long. But I wore a super simple black bra and it blended perfectly

The length was great, it was a little tight and hard to zip (would have gotten the small if available) but the arm holes were big and totally showed bra and side boob. If I hadn't had a black bra with me it would have been even more awkward then I felt! Needed help Wore to a rehearsal dinner and it was a good mix of classy but didn't make me feel old lady-ish! I *might* rent it again, but I would defiantly have other dress preferences to rent before wearing this one again.

Rent the Runway mailed this dress to me in lieu of a dress I chose that was returned damaged beyond repair. The bottom fit well, but the top was huge! The armpits were cut so low I couldn't wear a bra with the dress. Even with a bra, there may have been a glimpse of side boob. The low cut under the armpits kept inching across my chest and was... weird. For reference, my measurements are: 30E bust, 34,25,34.

The fit is snug. The armholes weren't an issue. It was a fine backup dress that I received in less than 24 hours, but I wasn't in love with it. I was hoping for a little something more flattering. The best part was it worked in a pinch and Rent The Runway provided amazing customer service to replace my original dress which didn't work out. Thankful I got a back-up in time for my sorority formal.

Another beautiful Herve dress, but not my favorite. I was a little nervous that RTR did not have a S available, but the XS fit just right. It isn't your typical body con dress but is still a gorgeous LBD. The arm holes are a little big and your bra might be peeking through if you aren't careful. The dress is very versatile and perfect for day or night. I liked the dress but wasn't head over heels for it.

Like the other reviews the arm holes in this dress were strangely large. As long at you didnt have your arms over your head much, it was fine. Not an amazing dress but not bad

The top is drapey and I didn't like it so I wore it off the shoulder and loved it

This dress was perfect for diner in New York. The neck is a little odd. I think I wore it wrong. I love the fit abs overall look!

I've rented this dress numerous times for bachelorette parties! It's always a winner in comfort and style! The only downfall is that the armpit opening is so big and it makes it tough on fuller chests. So, I've solved this issue by purchasing a Spanx "Shape My Day" Open Bust Shaping Slip (in black). It covers up that awkward and sometimes unflattering underarm opening. You can make it work! Good luck and enjoy!

The zipper was a little hard to pull up, but since the dress has stretch, it felt fine once zipped. I could have used a stick on bra. The front sides are cut in quite a bit, so you could see my bra.

The dress was cute, material was thick and heavy; it had a bit of stretch to it. The top was a bit big and the arm holes were really large. Unfortunately you could see a strapless bra from the arm holes (as seen) . Otherwise the dress was comfy and cute and if I stood with my arms to my side you didn't notice. I love RTR and the process was easy.

I am typically a medium or a large... always a large with Herve. Beautiful dress. The arms were big as described in other reviews... I am larger up top, so it was not an issue. Beautiful dress with some sex appeal.

This dress looks simple but is actually super sexy! I wasn't able to wear cause the event I was attending was a bit more conservative but I would def rent this hot little number again!

I absolutely loved this dress! At first I was worried it was not going to be sexy enough but it was perfect!!! I wore it to an alumni party and it was the picture-perfect LBD. It was elegantly simple, which was the look I was going for because my shoes were the center-piece of my outfit and the dress complimented my shoes well. The fit was super-form fitting, which was a surprise because it is extremely difficult to find form-fitting attire in my size. I definitely recommend this dress!

Absolutely loved this dress - my friends complemented me so much they told me I should just go buy it! It runs true to size, but go one size down if you're unsure as I'm fairly curvy for my height and it fit snugly but comfortable. As for the comments about the arm holes, they are a bit larger than usual but I had no problem with them just had to adjust the top initially when i put it on. Definitely a favorite!

This dress is amazing! It does wonders for the curves. I wore it to a wedding reception and received numerous amounts of compliments. I rented an XS and a M (small wasn't avail) I think the small would've been perfect, although the XS was fine. A little snug, but still comfortable. I am already looking into renting another Herve dress for my bday in July!!!!! Thank you RTR for the opportunity to wear designer digs at amazingly affordable prices.

I got this in an XS and it was a perfect fit. It's definitely curve-hugging, but I think Herve Leger, in general, tends to act more like you're wearing spanx than, say, a satin dress that would reveal every little bulge. It was perfect for the dinner I wore it to.

Veru classic and truly sexy. Beware the exagerated arm holes! Could show more unsigthly skin than preferred, i.e. must have completely toned arms, pecs and lats! Nothing a pashmina couldn't remedy. My husbands jaw dropped, it was worth it!!!!

To be honest, I was inspired to rent this dress because of Grace's review... "Rent this dress today to get back at the guy that walked away because he will look at you and want to come back." And guess what, he did! I felt gorgeous in this dress, it was perfect for my dressy school function. I am usually a 4-6 and fit perfectly into a Medium. My only complaint would be that the armpit holes are awkwardly large. So glad I rented this dress! I am completely obsessed with Rent the Runway!

Really liked this dress for a night out in Vegas. Rented the M with L as backup. Both fit but I went with the L for a little extra room. Fairly basic, not a lot of bells and whistles on this one, but sometimes less is more. It's a great blank canvas that you can really dress up with fun heels and accessories.

Although I didn't end up wearing this for the event (it was my backup), this dress is classy and flattering. The one thing I didn't like about it was that the arm holes were too big and showed a weird amount of skin around my armpit, even when my arms were down. It fits like any other Herve and was a great given my height.

This was my back-up dress but it fit me MUCH better than the dress I originally ordered. I am normally and XS-S, but they only had M available, the material is such that you can wear a size bigger and it still fits pretty well! It's just a very simple, easy, flattering black dress. I give it 4 stars, only because I thought it was a little pricey for the style. But, it's a very reliable dress/style.

This was a fun dress. I rented it at the Vegas RTR store. It does have a weird arm holes. They are very large and I did not like that part of the dress. Other than that the rest of the dress is very flattering. They only had an XS so I wore that but I definitely would normally go with a Small.

Like many reviews, it was way to big in arms. I'm a 34DDD and couldn't figure out how to wear it, so the shoulders stay up or down, because it was too big. However, after a few drinks, I stopped fussing with it and enjoyed the dress... simple, tight and comfortable. Would have gone down to medium, but wasn't available.

A great LBD! Gave 4 stars vs. 5 because the arm holes were very big so my bra was visible. It didn't bother me too much as I wore it out with the girls in Las Vegas but if I had wanted it for a more formal occasion I wouldn't have worn it.
