I have rented countless Herve Leger cocktail dresses and have always been dying to wear a gown. If you've worn his stuff before, you know it is HEAVY and the gown is no different. Besides that this dress has to weigh like 10 pounds on its own, it's incredible. It is spanx without wearing them and just hugs every curve perfectly. I am 5'3, wore 4 1/2 inch heels and this just graced the floor, i should have gone another inch as it was JUST the slightest bit too long but I dealt with it. There is a slit up the back from the floor to about your knees which just adds to the amazingness. No complaints at all. I could have easily worn the small but the medium just laid better on me, no bunching up anywhere which was amazing. Perfect WOW gown.

It ran a little small. The medium is a small 6. It runs long though so at 5'7" and 4 inch heels, I was tripping over it. This dress is great for hourglass figures. The top is generous but it's form fitting in the bodice and hips.

This dress was very comfortable and easy to wear. I wanted a SR and MR (as my backup), but only the MR was available. It fit fine. I'm sure a small would have also worked, but it was snug and very flattering. I'm 5'5" and I wore 3" heels with no platform. It dusted the ground on me!

This was actually my first RTR experience & I must say it was fabulous. This dress was stunning! Because of my girls I wore the Medium with no bra. The small fit great everywhere except my chest (made them look a bit mashed down). The color is a lovely navy and the material is thick but breathes well. These dresses hug you in all the right places giving you an absolutely stunning silhouette. LOVED this dress! P.S. Apologies for my pug baby photobomb in the background :)

This was by far one of the best dresses I have ever worn. I loved the fit that it had on my body giving off an hourglass figure. It's a great colour as well and matched with my boyfriend's suit plus I received many compliments at my formal. It was also easy to walk in and very comfortable on the dance floor

It fit perfectly and was just barely long enough with heels. I loved dancing in this dress and I wish I didn't have to give it back! :-)

This dress is very flattering and hugs your curves in all the right places. I tried on the medium which fit well but after reading the reviews squeezed myself into the small which held my breasts more securely since i didn't have a bra that wouldn't be seen in the back. Like the reviews said after an hour or two the dress relaxes quite a bit and it was a very comfortable fit for the rest of the night. The material is very heavy and thick so it's perfect for a wedding in somewhat chilly weather as I had but it might be too much if it was in an outdoor summer thing. I received numerous compliments throughout the night and would highly recommend the dress to anyone else renting.

Great dress-- definitely runs true to size. I am 5'8" and the regular length still worked with 3" heels.

I wore this for a black tie wedding. Comfortable to wear and dance in. I had 4 inch heels on so the shoe did show.

Fit like a glove, and was comfortable for a long night of dancing. Really "holds everything in" - I was thrilled with this dress!

I ordered both the XSR and SR, and I thought at first I would go with the SR because it felt more comfortable immediately. Once I got some help getting into the dress with the whole squeeze the fabric and zip method, I could see that the XSR was much more flattering. The dress didn't gap in the arms or bubble in the back like the SR did on me. I wore 4.5 inch heels though since I'm 5'2". Would definitely Rent the Runway again!

I am 5'6" and about 148lbs. I tried on the MR the day before and felt like I would be more comfortable in the LR so I ended up wearing that. Hindsight, I should have stayed withe the MR. The material is very forgiving despite being close fit but also it gives and loosens as you wear it. The large was just too big so the clasp in the back was loose and the front kept sagging down. I was also wearing cowboy boots and the dress just got longer where I had to pick it up so it wouldn't drag. Either way, I loved it. It fit prefect for all the important pics and that's what mattered. First time for me renting a Herve lever dress and can't wait to rent again.

So sexy, but not the least bit sleazy. I wore a tape on bra and liked that the dress held it snugly in place. I'm 5'4, 110 and it fit like a dream.

This dress was prefect for a winter ball. I could have worn either the xs or the s. I decided to wear the xs because it seemed to be more slimming. (Think the spanx effect--sucks more in). I was able to wear a normal bra with this dress--just had to move the straps far to the side. The fabric is really heavy so it does make it a little tricky to walk in but not so much that I couldn't walk. I think the fabric being so thick does allow the dress to hide flaws despite it being so form fitting. I wore 4 inch heels and the length was good.

I was devastated to learn that my original dress had been damaged beyond repair. Luckily, I found a gorgeous Plan B. The medium fit well but was a touch too long. I had to go find taller shoes (probably 4.5 - 5") and it fit perfectly. The small was probably the right size for me, but the medium didn't feel big, and I was so comfortable all night. The material is heavy and smooth and shaping. I wore a sticky bra and the dress held it in place perfectly, Photographs very well - it's very obviously navy even in a dark room. Tons of compliments at a black tie wedding. It was a winner!

After my original dress was damaged, I was able to choose a replacement and I have to say this was probably better than my original choice. The dress fit was amazing and I was able to dance in it all night. I'm 5'0 and wore 4.5 inch heels and the length was perfect. Definitely recommend!

Fit perfect for a wedding I attended. This dress hugged my body perfectly and showed all my curves. I'm tall and it just reached the floor. So you definitely can't wear high heels with it. Only downside is that it's very heavy so I had to keep pulling it back up! Definitely will rent another Herve Leger dress again.

The fit above the ankles was perfect, but the dress itself was too short. Given, I am 5'll, but I wore flats and you could still see my feet. Would only order again if I got the long size. The dress was absolutely magnificent minus the length.

I decided on the Jetson dress instead for my formal February party - it felt more appropriate for the occasion/season - but I will definitely rent this dress in the future!! I worried about length - I'm 5'7" and always wear a 4" heel - no worries, the stretchy fabric could scrunch longer or shorter, I could've worn flats or 4" heels. (Excuse the pic background, no full-length mirror in my room!) I recommend nubra and spanx for shaping.

I loved this dress and got so many compliments!! It was very comfortable. The only issue was that it is a very heavy material and a little hard to get use to waking in. Also, I probably should have worn the small but that size was not an option for when I needed it.

The dress was great! I had never worn Herve Leger before and I was a little nervous because I knew it would be form-fitting. It's very heavy, but falls beautifully and feels very elegant! Definitely accentuates the curves in a good way. I wore a regular strapless bra and I used hem tape for the bottom as I am pretty short. This worked great. The slit in the back is sexy but not too revealing! I have never been disappointed by RTR!

Dress was amazing, ordered the M and L as backup, M was a bit too snug as meant to be, so I thought L fit better, only problem I encountered was it stretched a bit throughout the night so maybe I should've stuck with the M. It would've fit more like a Herve should. It was great with my very high heels, I was afraid because I am 5'7" and this only came in R length but it was perfect!

Wore this to a Black Tie Gala and it was perfect. Herve's fabric is a amazing. Sturdy and acts like Spanx. It was form fitting and comfortable and hugged all the right places. The regular length worked with 5 inch heels, would have chosen the petite option if it was available so I could have worn shorter heels. Overall it was great!

I'm about a year late with this review, lol. I wore this dress to my med school formal last year and loved it! True to Herve Leger form, it fit well in all the right places. I was able to wear a regular bra (size 32G), and the fit kept the girls up the entire night. This is definitely a great dress for any formal event.

This dress was just beautiful. I wore it to a fundraiser that I have gone to for many years. I have worn many formal dresses over the years, but this was by far my favorite gown. The dress is a little long though. I am 5'4 and wore 4 1/2 inch heels. The dress was still dragging on the floor a bit. That was my only issue with the dress which is a "minor one". The dress has a beautiful open back and dramatic slit up the back. This dress is perfect for curvy body types. You will not need to wear Spanx with this dress because it hold everything in. The color of this dress is so rich and elegant. I received many compliments on this dress and of course told everyone where I got it. As always, Rent the Runway did not disappoint.

Loved the dress! It looked great and I got so many compliments on it! It fit really well but the only downside was it was pretty long even with my 5 inch heels, I was walking around holding it up so I wouldn't trip on it.

Fit perfectly!

I took a chance and rented on the day of the party and it arrived 30 min before my party started. I stressed a little bit that I was not gonna have the dress I wanted but it worked out and I was very satisfied with the fit and look. It was my first rental and solid experience. Would do it again.

The dress was a good fit. The material was similar to spandex, so it hugged everything, but was actually slimming, although the fabric was heavy. The MR length was about 4" too long, even with 3" heels. Since I'm only 5'3", I had a temporary hem put in and that did the trick. A beautiful gown and I received many compliments.

The dress I originally ordered for my event became unavailable at the last minute so RTR let me pick out a few back up dresses. I was torn between this and the other navy Herve gown that was very similar. I ended up choosing this one since it was a little more conservative. Really happy with my choice and actually happy that my original dress became unavailable. I ended up liking this dress a lot more, I wish I could have kept it. Very fitted and flattering. This style was very slimming, it is fitted through the waist and hips but doesn't make your hips look wide like a lot of the mermaid/fluted styles do. I am 5'6" and wore about 4 or 5" heels and it was about an inch above the floor. Overall very happy with my experience and the RTR customer service.

The fit was great...not as snug as other Herve dresses I have worn but I assume it's because this dress has been worn a few times. I just wish I had an undergarment for my boobs. This was a great simple dress that looked super elegant. I received so many compliments throughout the night. Love it!!

Gorgeous, looked unworn, fit like a glove. XS great for a formal event, S may have been better for a wedding but was too long. Simple and classic, but also flattering. I loved it!

I did not end up wearing it but as a size 10/12 woman, the MR would have worked perfectly. I did not wear because the elastic around the bust area was a bit too worn out. It wasn't see thru but no longer would have held me in. RTR - you have to take dresses out of circulation sooner on this type of elastic/bandage dress. I will say that my body did look toned and fit I t his dress and the back is lovely. It also covers that armpit fat well and has everyone focused on a good neckline.

This dress is skin tight! Also a thick material so it holds in everything but be prepared so show all your curves. Simple and elegant, I enjoyed wearing it.

If you haven't tried on an Herve Leger dress before, do that! Luckily, the bandage material is forgiving and stretches so that it highlights your curves perfectly. It's the prettiest dress and I wish that I could own it!!

I'm so tall it was scary to order a floor length RTR dress, but this one was perfect. It fit well and was incredibly comfortable. I was at a black tie event in NYC and several women commented on how much they loved the dress. My husband really liked it too.
