I received countless complements on the dress, and it was incredibly comfortable and movable for how form fitting it looks. I was worried that the size I ordered would be too small, but I loved it so much I had to try it anyway. I normally wear a 0/2 and the XXS fit well. It was even the perfect length with 3" heels.

dress was beautiful! it had a perfect fit and very flattering. It was a bit too long but with heels it was not that bad.

Unfortunately, the small was rented out and I fell in love with this dress so I decided to order the XS just in case. It ended up fitting perfectly. Wanted something elegant, but not flashy. Got a lot of compliments.

I LOVE THIS DRESS! I wore it to prom and I got compliments from so many people. The XS regular was perfect for me when I wore my 5.5" inch heels. It is very tight fitting so I wore some shape wear to hide the indent of my navel from being visible and to keep my stomach flat. The back is open so I wore a sticky bra. I absolutely LOVE Hervé Léger dresses and I hope to wear others!

fit is to size....dont' go up or down, order your own size...i can do a extra small, but not in this dress, it fits like a glove.....It is also long....i am tall and it still had some slack...don't scamp on heels.....dress got so many compliments I wish i owned it....the dress is amazing,,,all the best whoever rents it next this dress will rock your world....amazing.

The other reviews are absolutely right, this is the perfect black dress for a formal event. I wore it to a wedding and felt so confident and beautiful. It is classy and sophisticated but also tastefully sexy. I am 5' 6'', wore 4 inch heels and the length was just barely perfect. Any lower of a heel and it would have dragged on the ground. I was able to wear a regular strapless bra so it is very convenient for busty girls or to get extra lift. The dress hugged at all the right places and would be flattering on most body types. It was heavy on the hanger, but didn't feel heavy wearing it. The slit in the back made it easy to walk and dance in. The fabric is thick so it would not be ideal for a hot outdoor event, I wore it inside and was very comfortable. I cant say enough great things about this dress and the way I felt in it. Didn't want to send it back! I would highly recommend!

The dress is very heavy, but when you are wearing it you can't tell. I am 5'4" and I wore 4" inch heels. The dress was just touching the floor and could have been a little shorter but I liked the way it looked. I held up the bottom while I was dancing. The dress doesn't do much for the chest area, but it definitely accentuates the backside and waist line. After two or more hours of dancing, the back of the dress seemed to have stretched out as well as the strap across the back, which also came undone quite a lot. I loved loved loved this dress, especially the slit in the back, and I got so many compliments from teachers, parents, and the students at prom. This dress makes you feel sexy and classy at the same time. It's not your average sparkly prom dress and I would definitely recommend it.

Did not wear it to my event which was my daughter's wedding due to the color. I didn't want to wear black. That said I would wear it in a nanosecond to any formal event. Please note that the dress is very heavy in weight and don't choose it for a hot,muggy day.

Fit well, snug at the hips but I'm bottom heavy. Was a tad bit loose at the bust. I wore 4 inch heels and the dress barely grazed the ground. Was a heavy gown, but hugs you in all the right places. Overall very beautiful dress.

The dress truly makes you feel elegant while still making you feel confident and sexy thanks to its design and fabric. I felt special and beautiful even being surrounded by Hollywood royalty all night.

I got more compliments than I ever have on a dress! it was elegant and understated, but still felt glamorous. (the cut at the top will make your decolletage look good too!!) I was worried about my midsection when picking a dress, and I worried that this wouldn't look good, so my only warning to those with similar concerns is that if you pick this dress, it is tight and it doesn't camouflage well around the stomach or backside! But the material does hold well, kind of like a big pair of spanks, so if you're confident enough to work it then you go girl! Also, the picture doesn't show that there is a knee-high split in the back of the dress- so if you're thinking about what shoes to wear, consider the fact that your heels will show!

I loved everything about this dress! I wore it to a black-tie event and received endless compliments. I ordered the MR because it was the only size available and I made it work, but the SR would have been perfect. The places where it felt a little big were the bust (a little lower cut than I would normally wear), and the length, by about an inch. Otherwise it fit like a glove and I didn't want to take it off!

The dress fit great, was tight but not uncomfortable. The neck line wasn't too low and I loved the back.

Like other reviews said, the dress is kind of heavy, but once you put it on, it's totally not a factor. I was a little nervous about the length (thought it'd be too long), because I was wearing 4" pumps (no platform), but it hit the top of my foot beautifully! I'm kinda top heavy (natural 32 D) and didn't need a bra AT ALL! The girls were nice and secure! I felt so gorgeous! The fit was absolutely amazing -like it was cut just for me! From the moment I tried the dress on, I never wanted to take it off!!! Herve Leger dresses are NOT just for women with killer curves. Even us slimmies can rock one with COMPLETE confidence! YAY!

Herve is my 'go-to' designer, if I dont want to worry about fit. So, imagine my delight that RTR offered a long gown by him. I knew it would be a home run, and I was right. The fit was immaculate. Hugging every curve. The length wasn't too long with my 4-inch heels. It was a bit heavy, as mentioned by another young lady that previously wore the dress. This was not a problem when I put it on, and I was easily able to walk around the room. I felt sexy, I felt confident at a Black Tie Gala that I attended. This a winner in my book for a clean, elegant style.

The fit was great over all, It was a little big in some areas though, but nothing too much that it bothered me the whole night. Unfortunately, the Small wasn't available, but that didn't really matter in the end. I got a million compliments and it was so comfortable. I would wear it again in a heartbeat for another event if I could. Loved it.

This is the ultimate long black dress! It fits perfectly like all Herve Leger dress. It was my back up and I didn't wear it, but that was because I wore the Alberta Ferretti, Petra gown which was orange as I wanted a more colorful dress. I would rent this again I had a formal affair where I needed a black dress. It is long and heavy though, I could imagine that my shoulders might be stiff after holding this dress up for an evening. But it is so beautiful!

Fit wise, it was tight but comfortable. It was not too long but I did wear 5 inch heels since I am very short! The only problem I had with the dress was that the clasp at the top came undone every 15 minutes or so, not fun when you're dancing... Lastly, there were a few minor rips on the dress which make me feel I did not get my money's worth... But overall, the dress was so amazing and it weighed out the minor problems.

From the hips up, this dress fit like a dream. It just grazed the floor with 3" heels. The skirt, however, is a very narrow column that didn't work on my wide-hipped frame. If you've got more of a straight, athletic figure, I think this dress will look wonderful, since it pulls you in at the middle and creates curves even where there aren't any, but if you've got a true hourglass shape, it's probably best to stick to shorter Leger dresses. Another thing to note about this dress is the weight. It probably weighs around 5 pounds; the fabric is quite heavy, so it's a great option for a winter event but may be less ideal for a summer one. Finally, there's not much support in the bust, and the straps fit fairly loosely, so if you need some help up top, this might not be the dress for you. All that said, if it hadn't featured my hips so prominently, I would have been in LOVE with this dress.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this dress! I wore it for a black-tie Junior League gala in DC, and it worked wonderfully for the occasion. I was hesitant to go with a bandage style dress in a floor length version, but it turned out to be perfect. The cut and color give it a sophisticated and understated feel, while the bodycon style and neckline give it a pop and a little bit of a sexy edge. Definitely form fitting, but in a way that flatters your figure. I felt polished and sophisticated, but sexy at the same time!

I attended a black tie wedding in LA and needed a gown. I am pretty tiny and didnt want to go all the way to LA to look like I was swimming in a gown. So, I went to the showroom to try on a few gowns. They did not have a lot to offer in my size at the time of try on. Browsing online this would not have been my first choice, but it ended up being the only one to fit ...and it fit extremely well. The dress and earrings I rented were delivered to the hotel I was staying the night before the wedding which they held for me until I checked in the day of. I knew it fit PERFECTLY so I didn't try it on or order any extra sizes. When I put the dress on minutes before leaving to go to the ceremony I realized the strap that goes across the top of the back was ripped needed to be sewn back together. I had to literally call the front desk for a sewing kit, sew the dress back together, and run out the door. As a result of not being a prossional seamstress. the dress was a little looser on the right side and looked jenky if you were to look close to the strap. I am extremely disapppointed in the condition the dress arrived in. At the end of the day I pulled it off and needed to make the most of it, since I had no other options.

The fit was amazing

It is VERY long for someone my height but due to the fact that the dress has horizontal ribs you can use fashion tape to make a hem…and it held just fine without looking too obvious. I would normally wear a size 0 or XS, and the XS was perfect.

Could have gone XXSR because it was a tad long though doable for my 5'3 frame + 3.5/4inch heel. Was worried that Herve could be a risky choice for an elegant wedding but the fit was stunning and made the dress stand out but not risque at all. The neckline and back were feminine and flattering. Will most definitely order again.

The fit was perfect. I wore a Spanx slip under it to keep everything smooth which I always recommend when wearing a Herve Leger. I wish RTR would carry a few more long HL dresses; you just know they make you look and feel like a million dollars!

This was my first time using Rent the Runway and I had a great experience. This dress is stunning. It fits beautifully. The material is thick and feels fantastic. It is very flattering. No need to wear Spanx with this dress. I normally wear a 2-4, and the small fit perfectly.

Fit great...at first. It got a little stretchy as the night progressed. Its length must have grown 2 inches by the time the evening was over. In retrospect I might have sized down. Flattering nonetheless with a great neckline.

It was long on me with 5 in heels

This dress was amazing. It was actually my backup. It fit like a glove. It's really tight, so you have to be careful that either you have a super flat tummy or you don't eat a lot about 1-2 days before your event. Even if you eat a little bit of food, it will show. I had to wear this strapless bra that also sucks in your midsection underneath. I got a ton of compliments on the dress. My boyfriend LOVED it. There were about 800 people at the event, and I truly felt like I was the best dressed person there. The dress itself runs small. I normally wear a small. The other dresses I had were 4's or smalls. I had already gone to an Herve store for fit, so I knew that this would run small.

great fit it was true to size. Wore 5 in heels with it. I'm 5'9

What I loved about this dress was that it is the perfect elegant look. The black bandage material is slimming and curve hugging but it can make someone of my body type look overwhelmingly thin as well. You don't have to wear a bra with the dress but you can get away with wearing a strapless bra if you prefer to. I ordered the size XXS and S but barely fit into the S because again the dress fits tight. The dress weighed about three pounds so it was tiring having to dance with it at prom. Overall, this dress is gorgeous for an extremely classy look but I regret not wearing something a lot more fun, lightweight, and colorful for prom.

I got two size's in this dress, and the first thing I notice was that it was a heavy dress. I first tried the SR but it was kind of too snug and I didn't like the way it looked on me. Then I tried on the MR and it was a little too big. The dress was long on me even with heels. I ended up not wearing this dress to my event but it was still a very nice dress.
