I would say to definitely get your normal size and the size smaller. I loved this dress and it is great for a wedding. It was very classy and everyone loved it. I received many compliments on it. It is easy to accessorize as well. I like how the bottom of the dress poofs out bc it makes it more fancy. I thought the material was nice and thick.

It is a little big in the bust, I had to pin it a little. The dress is very flattering on curvy girls. I'm a size 8 and it fit perfectly. I said that it fits big just because of the bust. I would wear it again!

Difficult to wear a bar with fashion tape was a huge help. The fabric is thick enough to not wear a bra but feel supported.

I rented this dress for a close friend's Spring wedding, and I couldn't have been happier. Not to mention the great price point, this dress looked DIVINE on and was so comfortable. I had girls left and right saying how much they loved the classic style, and asking where I bought the dress - I couldn't wait to share my RTR experience. The pockets make this such a casual and comfortable look, while still looking effortlessly chic with the halter and flare skirt; it highlighted my shoulders, tightened my waist, and made my legs look thin. I also decided to do the matching earrings with it for a pop of color against the LBD - they were perfect!

I absolutely LOVE this dress! I received non-stop compliments all night! My torso is on the shorter side, so I pinned the halter straps so they could provide better support (and not show off everything), as well as put an pinned the top so it was a little more modest. And the pockets - beyond fabulous! Highly recommend so someone that wants to look fabulous while feeling comfortable.

I wore this to a sorority formal and it was perfect LBD. It was a bit tight when zipping it up through the rib section but it zipped! The neckline is a plunge so don't think of this dress as a conservative pick because it is for the brave, but I would always recommend this dress it was so fun! #formal #sorority #lbd

I weigh 155 pounds, I am 5'9 and have a 36 D chest and the dress was flattering. Showed a bit of cleavage but I (and the men) appreciated it. I wasnt falling out of the dress but it was very sexy and classy. I normally wear a size 6/8 but this 6 fit me PERFECTLY. This dress is definitely for you if you have a good amount of chest. I filled it perfectly. I rented this for a semi formal event.

Great dress - thick fabric which held everything in place. Loved the pockets. The front was lowcut, as others have said, but as a small-chested gal, it was fine for me. I wore a strapless bra just to get a little more oomph. It was longer than it looked on the model but not too long to look frumpy. Was great to dance in -- didn't have to worry about it all night. Paired it with nude open toe strappy shoes and the Oscar de la Renta earrings from RTR. My best friend rented too!

Great fit, chest was secure. The skirt had movement and the fabric had just the right weight. Pockets came in handy too. Loved it.

True to size, since I'm petite the top port can be pretty revealing but at my age (40) I thought WTH!! I loved the quality of the fabric, made it very classy. Would definitely rent it again!!

Love love love this dress! I wore it to my 20 year high school reunion. It was a a hit! The fit was perfect and I was comfortable all night long. It is a little longer than I anticipated, but such a classy little black dress and the pockets were a great addition to have. Felt so glamorous! Sad to be sending it back!

This is the second time I've rented this dress - I love the way I feel in it! Fit at just the right part of my waist - the smallest area right below my rib cage. The neckline is for sure pretty sassy, but I loved it - and if you felt a little worries ab a wardrobe malfunction, I'm sure a little tape would do the trick. Pockets are an incredible touch. I got a ton of compliments on it from guys and gals.

I rented a 6 and a 4 per the stylists suggestions. The 6 fit a little weird but was doable. I think an 8 would have fit but too much material I'm sure. The cleavage was more than I expected and the dress was a lot longer than I expected. All issues were resolved with a little tape and luckily for me I have the cup size to fill it. The waist line was around my ribcage so that was the only fitting issue regarding the size 6. I'm sure if it wasn't around my ribcage it wouldn't have been an issue. Still amazing first rental and I would maybe even rent this again and buy more fashion tape now that I know. Super comfy otherwise and tons of compliments. When people felt the material they were very clear that this was indeed high quality dress making. Wore with flats as event was on the lawn. Simple jewelry (crystals and silver). Hair was more Veronica Lake even thought I initially planned for a Carrie Bradshaw like curly bob (curling iron broke day of event!!!!OMG!!!). This is the most liked selfie on my FB page at this moment. Thanks for helping me looke fabulous! The stylist are amazing!!!! <3 Can't wait to rent again!1

The overall fit was good. The dress pulls you in at the waist. Pro ~ The dress covers stomach area and it looks FABULOUS on. Con ~ The Dress was a little to big after I fastened it around my neck. So I tied it around my neck then buttoned it and tucked it under.

I wore this dress yesterday for an evening wedding. The dress is made with quality material and preferred the full bottom of the dress to camouflage my hips a bit. The dress is low cut in the front so I didn't bother to wear a bra. However, be warned, when you sit down, it can get "spacey" in the chest area so some fashion tape may be helpful. For me, the dress was much longer with a much lower neckline than the photo with the model indicates, so prepare for that if you are a shorter girl. I really loved wearing this and didn't want to give it back. And the pockets were amazing!

I usually wear a 6, but wore a 4 in this dress because the skirt is so flowy. I wore fashion tape for the neckline. It was very easy to dance in and stayed on extremely well. I am getting compliments about it to this day!

I love this dress - the fabric was amazing and luxurious. As others have mentioned if you are busty you will see quite a bit of cleavage and a stick on bra is necessary. I ordered the Braza bra from RTR and it worked perfectly. Also taping it down help as well. I got a ton of compliments! And what girls doesn't love a dress with pockets!!! I am 5'5" and it hit me just above the knee so it wasn't nearly as short as on the model shown.

I ordered my usual size 2 with 4 as the back-up size. The size two was larger than the four. I wore the four which was a little loose in the waist. I did a lot of dancing which meant that I had to constantly tuck in the hanger straps. I would still consider renting this dress again in a size 0 and next time I will just secure the straps with tape. Great length for me it touched mid knee. I am small in the chest area so I was able to go bra-less.

This was my first Rent the Runway experience. The box arrived early the day before my event, both dresses (I opted for trying a 4 too) were pressed and in excellent shape when I opened the box. There was also a little pack of gum and lotion which I thought was a nice touch! The size 2 fit much better (the 4 was gaping on the sides... good dress for very full breasted women). It is more of a plunging V than on the picture but I knew this might be the case based on other reviews. It is a very sexy dress, my husband loved the way it looked on me and I did too but just had to get used to how low it did go. The waist and length were perfect and the quality of the dress was outstanding. I wore it to a cocktail Gala and had many wonderful compliments on how great I looked!

Let me start by saying that I loved this dress. It was comfortable (once I made sure everything stayed in). Love the thick fabric and pockets. The neckline is low...WAY low. I ended up wearing the 4 due to my wide ribcage. The waist is super tight, but high enough that it didn't bother me once I got zipped in. I had to safety pin behind my neck and in the front to make it fit better and to keep my boobs in. Once I got it pinned, I did not need a bra or fashion tape. It is a little longer than I would have liked, but I am super short. I also wore tights

Im usually a 6 in pants, but I decided to go for the 8 because a 6 wasn't available for the date I needed, also because I hear dresses run smaller then pants. Anyhow this dress fit like a glove! I might have been able to fit into the 6 but the 8 was just fine. My favorite thing about this dress is the pockets, so cool. I was a little scared that one of the girls was gonna pop out, because it is super low cut, but nope! It holds everything in place perfectly. I was able to wear a strapless bra and I didn't have to adjust the whole night. The puffiness of the bottom of the dress is super cute and camouflaged my lack of going to the gym and also the fact that I ate way too much. I absolutely love love this dress. I wish i had it in my closet. The only bad thing was that at the end of the night I noticed that something was sticking out of the dress and poking me in the back, it might have been doing it the whole night but it didn't bother me at all until the festivities were done. I would totally get this dress again.

This dress was a hit at the wedding I went to. Nice classic simple black dress. A little baggy at the top if u have small breasts like me...that was the only downside. If I kept my posture straight all night it wasn't a problem. Great for a woman with curves.

I wish I would have asked for the size 2. The dress seemed way long (the model photo was misleading), though the length balanced out the lower cut of the neckline. Overall, I would not have gotten this dress for the event I went to had I known the length.

Front sits very low which my boyfriend didn't like at all. So I wore a strapless bra & pinned the straps tighter on my neck to bring it up. Still showed off cleavage which I liked :-) As a short woman I felt it was a little long but that's what happens & it was ok, still fell above the knee.

The dress was a little longer than I thought but not by very much, it looked shorter with a good pair of heels. The v cut was really deep, I had to pin it back. I don't suggest wearing a bra with this dress, I didn't. If anything, I would get the stick-on cups. I loved how simple the dress was, it made it easier to pair up with any color accessories. The pockets were also a plus!
